  1. I guess my assumption here is that Favorite found out or were notified about it by NekoNyan which prompted them to request NekoNyan take action. In that case, I would understand and is a different dynamic than NekoNyan just taking it down as a partner of Favorite just on the off chance they may work on it and without Favorite really pushing for it to be taken down which they would have the right to do. But I can understand NekoNyan not wanting to disclose a potential license acquisition just because they took something down since usually contracts have specific stipulations regarding that kind of thing. Regardless, I understand your frustration in regards to fan effort of something which may not be fulfilled via official means. There have been several fan projects that were killed based on the potential of an official release that never came. If they get around to reviewing Xelane's work and don't have any real concerns regarding quality, they probably should just ask them to work on it if they do get serious about acquiring the license. The main obstacle is probably NN's relationship with Favorite. Even if they wanted to license Sakura Moyu(which they clearly do), a lot is probably riding on how well the release of Irosekai does plus the rest of the trilogy potentially before they really start opening discussion for other titles in their catalog(like the AstralAir translation they are sitting on) to build trust.
  2. Even if it takes them years, I believe they still have legal grounds. Maybe they couldn't do something themselves, but if Favorite were made aware of it, they could take further action by working with Favorite against some group or individual. In this specific case, considering Xelane is open to working with NekoNyan on an official release and even offered to do so, it probably wouldn't be a good look to release it anonymously if the opportunity potentially arises. In other cases where an official publisher has a partnership with a developer, it's probably best to work anonymously and just not announce it until it's ready to release.
  3. Yeah, probably worth remembering NekoNyan's roots. Pretty sure the AstralAir translation dates back to when some of the members were still a fanTL group before eventually creating NekoNyan. I might be mistaken, but it isn't about having just the license for a specific title, it's also about what exactly are the stipulations with their agreement with the Japanese license holder, in this case Favorite. If Favorite gave them that ability to represent them in that way, or if they were given the go-ahead from Favorite, I believe they would still have legal grounds.
  4. I was the editor on Houkago Cinderella when the project was dropped, joining a few months before it was dropped due to the takedown notice. At the time, I was tasked with focusing on editing Youka's route and was about half-way finished with the route, but due to the takedown, nothing I worked on was released in the partial patches that came out. I was not in the conversation when the takedown was requested, but based on statements, the translator was messaged to stop the project from someone at NekoNyan since they are partners with Hooksoft and the image editor made a statement along those same lines(saying it was NekoNyan) in the Discord server when announcing the project was dropped. Though when news spread and when it was announced it was worded like it came from Hooksoft(the AfterschoolTL's blog post stating "HOOKSOFT representative") themselves since NekoNyan was acting as Hooksoft's representatives due to the partnership. Part of the reason why things shifted to not announce what future projects, if any, are. The translator was honestly surprised they weren't hit sooner by a takedown notice or something, and so was I.
  5. Even though it leaked, given what Ange has said on Reddit and Twitter about some parts not reading well or being not translated and/or broken, I really hope TLC is still continuing and maybe the leak will mean a bit more transparency about what's going on, even if the TLC process is going at a snail's pace.
  6. After they announced Irosekai, in the Discord server someone asked them about Sakura Moyu or any other Favorite titles and one of the staff said something along the lines of they would love to do it and they actually hope Irosekai does well they hope to be able to build a relationship with Favorite to do Sakura Moyu since they like it and it is such a well-regarded title. Not saying NN as a company made that statement, but one of their staff members did.
  7. NekoNyan has heavily expressed interest in wanting to do this title specifically as I am pretty sure this is one of the founders of NekoNyan's favorite VN or something. I would not be shocked if they have the license or at least plan to get it.
  8. Is it possible Entergram/TGL is doing this to move away from Eroge?
  9. Very interested in what everyone has to say. Have a lot of respect for everyone on this panel. Edit: Just listened to it and was really good
  10. I rather play on PC, but being able to play the demo with mouse controls was close enough to be enjoyable. Pre-ordered the PS4 physical copy since it would be nice to have this physically and double dip if/when the PC version happens. I'm under the impression the Western fanbase is definitely very console-oriented outside of more core VN fans.
  11. If they end up bringing Agarest 2 to Switch, that needs a brand new PC port so they can use the North American version as a base instead of the European version Ghostlight did since they censored a lot.
  12. Most interested in KoiChoco and Mysteries of the Heart. I been holding off on reading KoiChoco since I had faith NekoNyan would do it after the success of Aokana. Mysteries of the Heart has been on my radar ever since it released in Japan and surprised NekoNyan actually got the license for it since it seemed everyone accepted titles under DMM would only go to Shiravune, but clearly not the case. And maybe due to that on top of my existing interest, makes it a pretty interesting license to me at least.
  13. Thanks for this, very epic chant.
  14. Imasugu was very well done so I have high hopes for this. The quality and doing so much yourself is inspiring. Good luck and thank you for your work.
