Hey everyone!~ Sadly, I'm here to report that Love Cypher was unable to reach it's funding targets during it's Kickstarter run. As such, the game is on a development hiatus - perhaps until I'm able to muster greater interest in the game. For the foreseeable future, I'll be leaving the game demo up on itch.io, so please give it a go and let me know what you think! In the meantime, I'm creating art for a new game: "Don't Fraud My Heart!", a dating sim about doing your taxes, made entirely in Microsoft Powerpoint. We'll be releasing it for free too! In the 2040s, advancements in artificial intelligence have blurred the boundaries between man and machine. Algorithms, computers, and software have all been optimized to the point of understanding individuals more than they do themselves. This technology re-sculpts one's identity, while keeping the individual unaware of their transformation. As a new student at the prestigious Wattasu University, you and your classmates wrestle with this notion, and seek to discover and define their authentic selves - outside of the pervasive influence of technology. Will you rediscover your humanity and find love along the way? Brief Plot Synopsis: You play as Satoru Aimoto - a new student a a prestigious tech University sometime in the near future (2040s). Technology, Machine Learning, and AI have exploded in application and capability in the past few decades - so much so that it's become pervasive and inextricably interwoven in day-to-day life. Love Cypher tells the story of how it can be difficult to come to terms with what it means to live an authentic life - outside of the (oftentimes manipulative) effects of technology. Satoru will attend Wattasu Academy in search of answers to what he ultimately would like out of life in a setting like that. From DM-ing D&D campaigns to creating my own tarot card deck. I've always loved creating worlds in miniature. New member here, and soon-to-be poster on the development boards! I've been reading VNs since Katawa Shoujo first came out and Persona 4 (in 2008), if that counts. I'm a professional artist who specializes in fantasy illustration, but dip into anime style pretty often as well! I'll be making a more official-looking post about the game I'm solo-developing, Love Cypher, in the other development board - but wanted to at least introduce myself here! Oh, here's the splash image from the game! Love Cypher Any other P4 or Grisaia fans out here? Grisaia kinda showed me how nuanced and deep a well-told VN could get, so it may be my favorite VN-style VN, but P4 definitely hit me during my formative years.
