  1. Would be nice to see a fully voiced Takeru, but it's probably too late to hope for that at this point. Being fully voiced would suit him very well, since he's pretty far from your average self-insertion protagonist.
  2. I think I liked chapter 4 the most, simply because it deals with stuff that's rarely present in other VNs (or at least the ones I've read). The other chapters didn't really stand out to me in the same way, since they revolved around more classic love story issues, like age difference, love triangles and whatnot. (I'm not taking a certain previously mentioned chapter into account here.)
  3. Well, there are some certain circumstances regarding one of the heroines, but you can't really call it NTR/cheating/whatever. If you want me to clarify and don't mind some spoilers:
  4. Yeah, I think one of the biggest issues is that a lot of people just see Extra and Unlimited as stepping stones on their journey towards Alternative, so they want to be done with them as soon as possible. Back when I started reading Muv-Luv Extra I didn't really know much more than that "Muv-Luv's supposed to be good", and it's probably much easier to enjoy it under those circumstances than if I was pushing myself to read Extra/Unlimited just for the sake of reading Alternative.
  5. I was kinda surprised when I finished Muv-Luv Extra and found out so many people seemed to hate it. I actually thought it was a pretty enjoyable experience, although not as much as Unlimited and Alternative.
  6. You're not alone; I was overanalyzing the sh*t out of that in my mind while I was playing it. I'm obviously not going to give you any details that would spoil anything, but I'd love to hear some more of your thoughts later on! Muv-Luv isn't discussed that often nowadays from what I've seen.
  7. Ah, that sounds like something I can live with, as long as it isn't so hard that I have to replay the same fights over and over again. I was afraid I would have to spend like 30-50% of the total playtime fighting, managing inventory and whatnot.
  8. How time-consuming is the combat? I've been looking forward to Baldr Sky for quite a while, but I'm not really interested in the gameplay part of it. Is there some way to reduce how big that part actually is, by choosing an Easy difficulty or something like that?
  9. Done with Bokuten now! There's some content that isn't my cup of tea (mainly the stuff I mentioned earlier on this page), but all in all, I have to say that this is most definitely my favorite Overdrive VN as of now. One of the main reasons I became so engrossed in it is probably because it managed to hit close to home for me in many regards, thus becoming pretty relatable. Other than that, the art and music were good, and I really liked most of the characters, so I consider this a great experience overall. @midanlaw As promised, here's a final update with what happens to those side characters, if you're interested:
  10. Well, that was basically the climax of the route. The stuff that happens afterwards depends on a choice you have to make, resulting in either: There might be more to this since I've only finished one heroine route so far. If so, I can give you an update later on.
  11. I can't speak for the heroine routes since I haven't done any of them yet, but the common route chapter I'm currently at revolves around it, and it's way worse than I thought it would be. If you don't mind spoilers and want to know what happens, here's my summary: I turned the VN off after that because I couldn't stomach anymore right now. I'll pick it up again tomorrow, hoping this chapter will be over with soon. Other than this crap, I've really liked Bokuten so far, although it can certainly get depressing at times.
  12. Consequences is a real jerk. He tends to show up at a lot of parties where he's not invited, and even if you kick him out, he eventually forces himself inside and starts clinging to you.
  13. The school uniforms remind me a lot of the ones in Koichoco, and the character designs are pretty similar too in some cases. Yuri (to the left) in Bokuten vs Satsuki in Koichoco, for example:
  14. I'm fine with her character design; the main issue for me is her personality, or rather lack thereof. I think she's a pretty bland character when compared to most of the others. (At one point, I even started suspecting there might be a plot twist coming about her actually being an android or something, just because she seemed so emotionless/machinelike.) Then again, maybe polls like these tend to mostly revolve around appearance.
  15. Yeah, it's either her or Madoka for me. I hope they get their chance to shine in either the sequel or an EXTRA! Would like to see Aoi as well, but I guess the chances of that are lower, if Sprite is actually taking the poll into account.
  16. The results of Sprite's Aokana popularity poll are in! Main heroines 1. Misaki 2. Mashiro 3. Asuka 4. Rika Others 1. Saki 2. Madoka 3. Satouin 4. Minamo 5. Aoi Source How Saki managed to nab first place for the supporting cast is beyond me. Personally, I'd put her in last place on the list, if I'd even let her be on it.
  17. Let's put "GIEF TIDDIES" in a translation engine and then mail bomb Giga with the resullt. That should show 'em!
  18. Ahhh... good times. Even with the restoration patch, it still somehow managed to be the most broken VN I've ever read, by a long shot. (Don't ask me how I managed to keep my sanity intact long enough to actually finish the damn thing.)
  19. I feel for the poor bastard on the other end, expecting a porn game but having to jerk off watching a bag of potato chips.
  20. Should be 960 x 720, since that's the resolution used in other versions, including the demo released a couple of weeks ago. So it's HD resolution with 4:3 aspect ratio, I guess.
  21. On the subject of an unofficial 18+ patch, it seems there are already some people on top of things. Source
  22. True. I guess this could be compared to if VNs like Grisaia or Muv-Luv were sold as a package. Wow, that's pretty crazy. It would actually be interesting to see how much a price like that would affect their sales. They'll probably make a bigger profit with their current price point, although I'm sure plenty of potential buyers are put off by that as well, thinking it's too much. Judging by complaints I've seen, a lot of people seem to be averse to paying more than 30-or-so for a VN, no matter how long or good it is. Meanwhile, many of those people probably don't have any issues with spending the same amount for a couple of movies at the cinema, which is kinda weird to me. The way I see it, if I have fun, I don't mind paying for it, as long as the price isn't completely unreasonable.
  23. Does this officially make Baldr Sky the most expensive VN on Steam? I can't remember seeing any others with a price point this high. I normally wouldn't mind paying an amount like this, considering how many hours of entertainment we're talking about, but the fact that they've actively gone out of their way to remove content from the game to make it an all ages release really doesn't sit well with me, especially since there aren't any details about exactly what has been done. I wouldn't be surprised if they've removed or altered a whole bunch of non-explicit stuff too just because they deemed it too "risky".
