  1. I doubt anybody here knows for sure. But looking at the reviews for Dieselmine's other Steam titles, that sounds like a definite possibility. Regardless, it's an H-game with a shota protagonist. My guess is that Steam will give it the axe.
  2. You ain't kidding. This 12 Days sale was pretty exciting at first with significant discounts on Edelweiss, DC2, and ef. I hadn't owned the latter two so I picked those up right away. But now it's just nukige after nukige... There's nothing wrong with that of course, but for me personally, it's still a little disappointing. I wonder if MG tends to make more money off their nukige than their eroge?
  3. I know this is an emotional time for everyone, but I think we all need to remember one important thing:
  4. Personally, I'm not too worked up over the controversial localization changes made. The only one that sorta irks me is dudegirl - I understand the rationale behind it as others have explained, but I think it's apparent from some of the screenshots that 'dude' doesn't quite fit as a direct replacement in every case. Sounds like somebody already started on a restoration patch though. If it's complete by the time I get around to reading SukiSuki, I might install it (mostly for dude removal). But man, rough couple of months for Arunaru in terms of fan backlash.
  5. This is getting out of hand; I can barely pronounce the denouncement of the announcement announcement renouncement.
  6. Well, before I was kinda curious whether Sol Press' OniiKiss was going to make it on Steam. I guess now I have my answer. Speaking of, IIRC Sol Press has only released their titles on Steam - it sounds like they better start investigating other options. It's a good thing Nekonyan already has a history of concurrent releases on JAST/MG. EDIT: NVM, looks like Sol Press sells Sakura Sakura on JAST and is gonna start selling Newrin there too
  7. I'm 100% guessing, but considering how much text there is to translate in a full-length VN and how niche VNs are, I doubt the pay is amazing for the amount of work being done. If you're a skilled translator fluent in both Japanese and English, I have to imagine there are more lucrative options than VNs. (But again, I'm just guessing) EDIT: (Which is not to imply that VN translators aren't skilled. I imagine there are a fair few who aren't making what they deserve given their talent.)
  8. This is the one I use, mainly because a lot of presentation clickers only do left and right arrow keys which not every VN recognizes as a valid input for the next dialogue. It has wireless, using a USB dongle. Battery life is advertised as "10 hours of continuous usage" but I think that might refer to the laser pointer because I'm pretty sure I've gone far beyond 10 hours of intermittent clicking while reading.
  9. My quest for being lazy in bed while reading VNs involved buying a laptop table and a cheap USB presentation clicker. I still feel kinda silly, but hey, it works and I use it almost every day.
  10. Wow, didn't realize the ENG version released before the JP version. That's surprising. But yeah, no doubt the JP version will be 18+.
  11. 'Harem Ending' is one of the tags on VNDB, apparently. No idea if it's associated with the Law or Chaos routes, though.
  12. "It's called hentai, and it's ART" In other news, backerkits are live (yay!) and some retranslated names/titles have been shown. What do people think? I wonder if some of the clumsier-sounding names are examples of translations being a little too direct (lookin' at you, Breezy War Deity). Anybody decent with Japanese that can confirm/deny?
  13. So I don't think Sol mentioned anything about DareSora? It sounds like it didn't sell well, so I wouldn't be too surprised if that fell by the wayside.
  14. Wait, Sol has more titles they're announcing? You sure you're not thinking of NekoNyan? I believe they have some coming up.
  15. With so many titles in their queue, I wonder what the release schedule is going to look like for some of these. It might be a long while before we see some of these titles. Still pretty exciting, though.
  16. My credit card also canceled the first transaction, but after I responded to their automatic text it looks like it went through. I'm just glad the first stretch goal is still secure.
  17. Dayum. Three stretch goals - I was expecting a spike in funding at the end, but not that big of a spike. Well done, well done...
  18. I mean, if SG's abysmal track record isn't enough for you, this is from the game description on the Steam page:
  19. Good write-up! I can also sympathize with not being wild about the rapey stuff (though oddly, the corruption aspect does make it a little more palatable for me for some reason) but the game looks like it has other good stuff to offer. In other news, it looks like the bonus episode pool got funded, so hooray for having an extra episode! And just a note about the stretch goal: the target is in JPY, so 18.7 million yen at the moment is more like $166.5k, which may still be possible. I just bumped my contribution to the Rebirth tier, and I could probably bump that to the King's Companion tier if it looks like it'll put us over the edge to the first stretch goal. (These are like the only two high-priced tiers that appeal to me) Conversely, if my Rebirth tier isn't needed to get us to the stretch goal I might drop it down a bit. I'm gonna be watching this thing like a hawk and adjusting my pledge accordingly... So close!
  20. Hmm. I wonder if he's a full salaried employee or just a contractor. It'd be pretty awkward to be running the Kickstarter/social media and urging people toward a stretch goal that could lose him money lol. 3 days left! I do hope they make the stretch goal. Not only for the improved translation, but it should earn the bonus episode pool an extra $1000 which would also put that over the top.
  21. I see. I thought maybe there was an issue with the base game itself, like a jarring ending that comes out of nowhere. I would also reccomend Sanoba, but I personally can live with having a supplementary mini-sequel not being translated.
  22. Unfinished? How so? (Genuine question, I know next to nothing about this VN)
  23. To Fateburn's credit, it wasn't terrible (or at least, it didn't seem that bad to me). The main issue was that they were trying to have him edit his own work. I think Fateburn + Ryechu as editor still would've made a decent product, though having somebody like Arunaru onboard is far preferable. Still, if we reach the first stretch goal and Arunaru does the UI as well, I wonder what that leaves for Fateburn to work on.
