It's that time of the year again. Time to reflect on everything you made of good and bad in the year. But who cares about getting chained down by your past forever huh? So let's skip that part and look forward to the future! To what we can (and can't do) to make Fuwanovel great... again? Did we ever were great? Debatable.
So anyways, let's all collect suggestions of changes we want to see here in the coming year. If you're feeling a bit uninspired, I suggest to vote for one of the wonderful suggestions I make below. Because I thought long and hard (aka 3 minutes, rough estimation) in the well being of our beloved dysfunctional community.
Create a pinned "Translation Salt" thread under Visual Novel Talk, because lately every single release gets this; Rename Walkthrough section to "SeniorBlitz's Secret Dungeon"; Rename Translation Projects to "Fan Translations Burial Ground" because lately they're mostly dropped anyway; Create a board "Introduce Yourself and Never Speak Again" under Introduce Yourself because yep; Rename Community Coordination and Feedback to "Tay and Co. Burial Ground" (I'm sorry Tay, we love you); Create a pinned "Looking for Hentai Animation or Visual Novel (Powered by Monta93TM)" thread under Anime/Manga Recommendation; Rename Leaderboard to...... anything tbh no one will notice kek kthxbye

Isn't the sexual content in that unlocked after you finish a route?

Its great! Play it! My reccomendation is to get a full save (You are normally forced to do Chisato first) and then do the routes in this order: Isara ---> Mifuyu ---> Satsuki or Michiru ---> Chisato. This is assuming you are like me and you like to do true routes last and also like saving the better routes for later.

Just like @Asonn's deleted thread earlier this year predicted, the worst has happened. You can no longer criticize companies the Fuwanovel staff works for. Some days ago people were shitting on Moenovel for releasing bad translations and how they are so bad but still have the guts to call themselves professionals. Okay nothing wrong in here, but when I posted bad stuff about Mangagamer BANG. Post deleted, me getting warning point. This is a warning for all Fuwanovel users. Please check what companies Fuwanovel staff works for before criticizing a translation, even if it is a joke. This was my 2nd warning and this post will probably get me a 3rd one so it was nice knowing you guys.

I never was an anime fan, and I'm still not, but I saw Sodapoppin on twitch playing Princess Evangile (I still have no idea why he was playing it lol) and it looked like a nice little feel good story. So I gave it a shot and liked it. When I looked for another good VN to read after finishing PE, I learned about G-Senjou no Mao. That one cemented my interest in VNs.

I've been doing it for around 5-6 months now and I'm surprised at the progress I have made. There are times where I can go on autopilot when reading and its a really cool feeling.

After many many years of rust, I've recently revived my Japanese studies and I'm looking to tutor/guide someone to help me refresh my basics. Reason being I'll be going to Japan for the first time next year.
Specifically looking for someone ranging from fresh beginners (we're going to gloss over basic grammar mostly) or intermediate (going to go over jlpt N2 grammar patterns). I will try to teach these and in the process help me de-rust. As they say, teaching is the best way of learning. We can hold voice/text sessions on discord, where I'm most active. 
I am by no means a great educator but I can show you the steps of how I approached learning Japanese. This is going to be reading-focus, as my speaking skills are bad atm, so it's good if you eventually want to read a VN.

I get the feeling the Switch is going to have a lot of VNs coming to it in the near (and distant) future, but if you're already concerned about the supply running out then sticking to PC (where the supply is far bigger) or learning Japanese (which should have many more options available) would be advisable, and in the case of learning Japanese it'd mean that you don't have to wait for localizations of titles you're interested in to come along.  

I wouldn't sell myself short if i were you. I absolutely don't get a hint of you being as bad as a bad vn protagonist. You have your opinions and you stick with them. Bad protagonists just go with the flow, like the sheep that they are. Just read rewrite and see how the protagonists thinking varies from one end to the other based on which girl he's with.
As for me, i'd chock it up to experience and age. I've given up on dating. I've dated exactly 2 girls before i said "enough". First time i got ntr'd.. Yup, it totally happened. Not because of my dick mind you  Second time i dated a girl for a year before finding out she'd been sexually abused for many years by a relative and still wanted to maintain a happy relationship with said relative. Yup, the whole relationship felt like a lie and i couldn't and wouldn't deal with that. Call me a bastard for abandoning her, but with what happened and how she was acting because of it it just simply wasn't worth it. To put it really bluntly. Fortunately for me, i'm quite used to not having a girlfriend so it doesn't matter in the end.
Well, as you'd realize, those two themes piss me off.
As for self insertions. I think most of us either self insert of heavily empathize with the protagonists. I'm the latter as i rarely agree with anything the protagonist does. I'm sure i was similar at that age as some protagonists (i had a personality though) but i was bad with women. I've come to realize later that a few girls liked me, but i did not realize at all (guess i've been quite the donkan ). Point is: isn't it more inspirational reading a protagonists that is better than you are, yet still similar, rather than one who is potentially as bad as you think you are?
Hopefully that didn't become too heavy or too personal  history for me so i don't really care anymore.

I'd say you exaggerate a bit, or rather jump to quick conclusions. But, tbh, after reading some tags and discussions on VNDB I was hesitating too - but after all I don't regret reading it.
I said about "utsuge" somewhere eariler - IMHO Miyu's route it's about as utsuge'ish, as AIR true route, so take it however you see fit.
As for "girls dating other guys" - if you're afraid of NTR, it isn't present here. In one route heroine breaks up with her current boyfriend, to be with MC, but it's all resolved pretty peacefully. No "stealing", cheating etc.
 
And speaking of "whore"...
That's why I say her route is brilliant. Because at the beginning, from the first impressions, everyone (player and MC included) sees her just as that, but during the route you're in for some surprises.
Overally, I'd say Crescendo is definitely worth reading - and it isn't exactly what it appears on surface. It isn't exactly made for "feeling good" (that's what moeges are for ), has some heavier moments/themes, but I liked it.
 
To summarise - I understand your doubts, and I also have some things I prefer to avoid in VNs (like gore, or some other dark, disturbing themes, as well as "true" utsuge, where there's only death and despair, and no trace of hope), which rules out some "kamiges" for me, but I'd say - give Crescendo a chance.

I've been snooping around once in a while and I noticed that some sort of translation was released for this VN a few months ago by EA Games SakuraGame;
Were there any improvements made in regards to this or is it still the same old that there is on Steam? Not sure if I want to actually go through the horror I've seen by this company.

I think it's fine if it happens and a good thing as well.. As long as it doesn't involve the main heroines  What they do after the course of the story is unknown, but them hooking up with your best friend etc during the story makes doing their route somewhat unappealing. Twisted way of thinking i know, but i can't help it. Would be especially bad if it was difficult for the protag to establish a relationship but somehow the friend ignored the troubles and easily got in a relationship with her. Well, i think it's best that the friends find side character girlfriends.

Saya and Hikari are both childhood friends and coincidentally, most of the game's production efforts went into their routes(they have a fandisc focusing on these two heroines). I remember giving it a low score on vndb because of my hate on moenovel and the gutting of the h-scenes(I don't usually care about H, but removing something from the VN makes it feel incomplete and awkward). 
Planning to replay it since the game is really good but now untranslated as recommended by many, you should try it too.
