Its important to mention that episode 8 has extra content in the manga version and the ending is a little bit more satisfying

As someone who also liked pillars of eternity, you should know that Baldur's Gate is the spiritual predecessor and also one of the best computer rpg ever made. Romance is only present in Baldur Gate 2 , which is also the best game but you really should play the first one that is also a good game so you can transfer your character to the second game. It is a complete saga, with a conclusive and satisfying ending

I guess Umineko would be mandatory in any mystery/detective request.
Ever 17 is also a great mystery VN although some fantastic elements might disappoint
G Senjou no Maou has a great protagonist and an excellent main route. The other routes are not as good and certainly not mandatory since they abandon the mystery, just play the main route that is the canon true ending

Oh, well this feeling is pretty familiar to me. While I'm usually a pretty slow reader, it only took me something like a week to finish the main bulk of the story (episodes 2-6), though I had to slow down after that for irl reasons. Sadly, it's already been 6 years since I finished Umineko, I never really manged to find another similarly addicting VN. I guess, the closest thing to me was Muv-Luv Alternative, but I can't really say if you're also going to like it, since it's pretty different. And, actually, I wouldn't recommend picking up something so drastically different right away, it's usually better to let yourself cool down a bit after reading something so grand.
You know, I think I'm also going to recommend Higurashi, since the new translation for the main arcs just recently finished. It wasn't really as captivating as Umineko for me, but it's something like its spiritual predecessor, and overall, it's still a pretty good mystery and horror VN, though its written a lot more like a proper story and doesn't go into the meta territory. Actually, I personally read Higurashi pretty soon after Umineko, and I had already seen the anime for it, but I still ended up enjoying it, especially since the anime adaptation, as it turned out, skipped a lot of important details (though reading chapters 1 and 2 was pretty boring, as they didn't have that many changes, but in chapter 3 the anime skipped the entire epilogue). Also, the anime completely messed up foreshadowing for a certain important twist in chapter 7, so they even had to include a completely new arc just for that.

May as well recommend Shibuya Scramble here, seeing that it have thriller story along with some mystery. If you want more, then perhaps you can try Fata Morgana and Rose Guns Days (The latter is from Ryukishi07 as well). I don't know though if those three would be able to captivate you or not, but still I hope that my recommendations would be helpful to you anyway.

G-senjou and Grisaia i think can replace them. Im also read higurashi, but its too dark i think.

Edited: oh.. almost forgot about this series. Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo There so much conspiracy with more mystery's story.

Subarashiki Hibi and Muv-luv can hook the reader pretty well, but it kinda depends on you.
To get to the actual drama/intense story in Muv-luv, you need to wait till you get to the 3rd game Muv-Luv Alternative and the first 2 probably aren't what you're looking for, but I would say it's worth it.
As for Subahibi, your enjoyment will be based on how well you can tolerate it. The story is very interesting, but I'd probably describe it as "hard to read"

Have you tried the first two games in the When They Cry series. The Higurashi series of games. They were the first two in the series and if you want the full story for this series.

Although I've been reading VN's for quite a while, I was never hooked to the point of reading a single novel all the dam day as I do tend to space out my reading, but Umineko changed that.
I managed to read through those 90+ hours in a single week whilst being totally focused and immersed, which is not something usual for me to be able to do. Clannad, which would be one of my favorites VN, took me between 3 and 6 months to fully complete as each session did tire me out, but I guess the mystery and conspiracy aspect can change that.
I'm looking for any novel that might replicate this feeling, which is not a problem considering the coronavirus situation, all the free time in the world right now.
As for Steins Gate, I did see the anime so I will skip the novel considering it's totally spoiled for me, which doesn't excite me one bit

Not sure if this counts or if it is the kind of thing you're looking for but Sharin no Kuni has it's own FD with epilogues for all the routes.

Hmm... Why don't you try Sakura Sakura I think it has a built in sequel or after story of sorts on the routes that you played/chose... And it has 2 protagonist for different scenarios.
Princess Evangile is mostly romance but tackles some issues on gender integration and it has a Fan Disc too!
My Girlfriend is The President is more comedy oriented, a Parody of Obama and Putin in their Female versions. And it comes with a Fan Disc too!
Fureraba is a pretty decent high school romance Eroge! Has its own Fan Disc as a DLC for the after story.

This VN is pretty old, but certainly fits the bill - Kotori Love Ex P (English)
It's a combination of Kotori route from Da Capo, her fandisc stories and after story that you are looking for. Basically you don't need to read original Da Capo game, and you can ignore IF (Innocent Finale) alternative route since it's drama oriented and meaningless.
Hani Tsuma (Jap) is good too, although after stories is not that long.

If you're talking about in the same game then the only one to fully do that is Gin'iro Haruka, same company as Hoshi Ori, which is currently partially translated. Other than that the only one I can think of off the top of my head available in English is Private Nurse and that only applies to Ayano's route and those are a collection of short stories.
Otherwise after stories are relegated to fandisks.

Late to the party here, and I'm sorry about your situation there. As for the recommendations, I would say that all of the above are the good ones. So let me add some new one such as Saku Saku, Noble Works, Daitoshokan, and Koiresort here. Also seeing that I already recommend Hoshiori to you, let me recommend it once again to you and I think it should be the closest one to what you want. I hope that my recommendations here will be helpful to you.

If you want romance to be front and center with a solid story as the backdrop then World End Syndrome could be a good choice. https://vndb.org/v22181
If you're leaning the other way and want romance to be present but not the core reason you're reading then ISLAND could be a good choice. https://vndb.org/v18498

Ack! Got ninja'd by @ittaku Was going to recommend it too.
    Some, that weren't mentioned yet:
    - Koi iro Chu! Lips - full of tropes, but very sweet - I loved it.
    - Sakura Sakura - another lighthearted one, loved character design and music.
    - Tsujidou-san no Jun'ai Road - if you don't mind tsunderes and some over-the-top silliness, try it out. Might check out Majikoi series as well.
If you liked Konosora, check out Miagete Goran, Yoozora hoshi o (A Sky Full Of Stars) too.
    - Sanoba Witch is another very good one.

    * Fureraba . Fluffy, cute, very comedic.
    * Nekopara series. Over the top cuteness (and lewd action). This is as japanese as you get....
    * Little Busters . Another KEY VN (makers of Clannad). Good comedy, and the whole "endearing group of best friends". The Battle Rankings are fun too (if optional).
    * Sorcery Jokers . The setting of this VN would probably remind you of JRPGs like Final Fantasy and Tales of series. A lot of action and intrigue in this urban setting.
    * Muv-Luv (Extra and Unlimited), & Muv-Luv Alternative . The perfect way to waste a lot of time, the Muv-Luv Trilogy is something you won't forget. Extra is your typical high school romance comedy, with a lot of silly scenes (you may miss these scenes later on). Unlimited .... changes the setting. And Alternative ...... ramps up the drama, ramps up the pain, ramps up the emotional trauma to 11/10. Cause sometimes, dealing with pain in Visual Novels can help you get over yours....
    * Higurashi When They Cry series. Great if you're looking for something super intense, scary, and effed up. Use the installers at http://07th-mod.com/home/ to add updated graphics and voiced lines (just so you can hear her insane laugh).

Hey, sorry you've been going through so much. Trust me, I know the feeling. Been a bad two months for me as well.

But I do have some ideas of what you might like

Wagamama High Spec (High school comedy with romance though it has fan service (not sure if you want that or not) Beautiful art to)
Fureba (Another high school comedy and romance about getting a girlfriend. Not much drama.)
Clannad (High school drama story, may make you cry but it's really good and long. Lots of romance and themes about family.)
Little Busters(Like Clannad in a way, but a little more upbeat to a degree. Like Clannad it's a super long visual novel about romance and friendship, and has some fun mini games.)
Nurse Love Addiction/Nurse Love Syndrome(These are Yuri titles but both are good. I finished the prequel Nurse Love Syndrome and had fun. Romance is okay and you learn about nursing. A little slow though, both these games are.)
Princess Evangeline (School life, romance, and comedy. About a guy going to an all girl school. Art is pretty and the characters are okay. Not much drama.)
Higurashi- (A horror visual novel with elements of high school. Not much romance.)
Umeniko (Made by the same group who did Higruashi. Is a horror and mystery story as well. Just wanted to add something a bit more different just in case you wanted it).
Eb-hime Visual Novels(She's a creator and has done a lot of visual novels, some with romance, some short, some tragedy. Maybe give her a try if you want something short.)
I know this is a basic list and people will have other options, but I feel like some of these are good and will make you feel better.

You sir, are in desperate need of To Heart 2 Trope king, very light on drama, more like anime than a visual novel, romance galore, 11 heroines, 9 routes, hours and hours of enjoyment, and translated by yours truly.
