Please forgive my walls of text. As a career Data Analyst, this is simply how I perceive and digest the world around me. Inevitably, it also affects how I communicate. The last poll was successful and useful to me! I had Planetarian as a winner and Ever17 as a runner up. I cried buckets for Planeterian - It was such a perfect story and easily my top favorite VN of such small length. Despite being pissed at the excruciatingly slow navigation of Ever17 (wasting hours of my life waiting for it to skip so I can try again and fail to get a good ending) I can easily see why everyone thinks it's one of the best. What a ride. EDIT: The ending redeems everything. Thus I have removed my formerly blasphemous words about the game. This new list includes suggestions I had from before: -Ayakashibito, Symphonic Rain were suggested because I thought Mare from Hoshimemo was precious (Thanks @Zakamutt). -The House in Fate Morgana was suggested by @Funyarinpaas an important VN that was omitted from @Kaguya's list that I rely on, due to being translated afterward the list was made. -D.S. -Dal Segno- was suggested by @r0xm2n as having a good AI waifu. -Zanmataisei Demonbane, Kikokugai - The Cyber Slayer were suggested by @Nier as having some good robo waifus. -Sekien no Inganock, Ourai no Gahkthun - For the caretaker vibe, suggested by @ChaosRaven -Sharin no Kuni - for the caretaker vibe, as suggested by @Tamaki Sakura - Maitetsu - was suggested for a caretaker vibe by @Plk_Lesiak and I think I saw it mentioned by a couple other people for other reasons that I might like it. Whew, I think that's enough for now. There were other suggestions that weren't English translated, I couldn't find a way to download from my usual source, or I just ran out of patience when formatting this list so I didn't get to it. Thank you everyone for your input!

You aren't serious, right? I could follow the audio dialogue to a degree...it could be worth a try...but I'd probably just end up being sad that I couldn't understand it further! If I miraculously get a lot more time to enjoy VNs after this year, I'm definitely returning to full study Japanese mode.

Took a break to watch half of the Kanon anime with a friend. I hope we'll be finishing it together tomorrow. Started slow but then it got real good and felt just like a Key VN. Those faces are even uglier than CLANNAD, though. Ageless Potato People. Ever17 is taking a lot longer than I expected, partly because I'll retry and pick different options and still fail to get a flippin good ending. Spent a lot of time today alt tabbing out while waiting for it to skip around. Gah. Well, it's making the experience bigger and more epic, I guess. I blame that on the age of the game and I forgive it, because it's starting to get really flippin mysterious and I'm getting really into it. I like a lot of the soundtracks but these two really, REALLY roxxors my boxxors: Also, Sora looks more feminine and lovely every time I see her.

Thank you for your effort! I'm looking forward to Rewrite more than anything else, currently putting it off to space out the good stuff. I plan on playing it in a few months at the latest. Those other two are news to me and look good, I'mma add them to my list and consider them as options for my next one. So you're gonna translate that other one in ten years? I have one year dedicated to reading VNS, any chance I could bribe you to do it in one year instead? JK I have no muns and probably give terrible blow jobs.

Oh man, that's exciting. That characters in that game look adorable. I like that Yuuki has a similar open shouldered outfit to Mare. Crossing my fingers that I'll be able to read it one day. One never knows. I wish someone would hurry up and translate Kud Wafter. She's pretty damn precious as well.

Thank you, you helped my hurt feelings. <3 I enjoyed Chrono Clock's sister route a good deal, then hardcore stalled out on maid girl's route. Also, the other two obvious heroines look like cows. Meh. I need to get back to it and push through so I can (presumably) interact with Cro and the cute girl from the intro sequence. It seems to be a well liked game so I suppose I should give it another chance.

No sir/mam, I am but a humble newbie with a newfound love/obsession of VNs. In fact, I was neutral towards "loli" and thought perhaps I was above such things until Mare stole my heart. So it's all rather new to me and I know not whether I am stepping on landmines or rainbows. But you've got me really curious, in case you or someone else feels like explaining :>.

I'm sitting here all day waiting for a VN (Ever17) to slowly skip to the next choice over and over again so I can see everything/progress down a different route (Don't you hate having to do that?) So I thought I'd make a another thread while I'm alt tabbing in and out and waiting. I think I fell in love with Mare S. Ephemeral from Hoshimemo a little bit (and Chinami too). I just keep thinking about her, her petulant "betsu ni" and her cute little shoulders. Recommend another loli I might like just as much to cheat on her with? I'm hoping for another high quality nakige like Hoshimemo. (Is Hoshimemo a nakige? A moege? I cried a few times thanks to the drama of the moment and the sound track, but it was never really THAT sad). Edit: From searching the forum and poking around other threads, there seems to be some sensitivity towards lolis and reaction towards people that create "I love lolis" threads or create lots of threads just to post images of them. I'm hoping my thread is relevant, because it's basically - "I like this character because she's smol and adorable, could you recommend another VN with a character I might like for the same reason?" If I have tripped over some taboo or triggered rage, please don't hesitate to delete my thread and let me know :>.

Ever17 Playthrough 3:

@cro-mag I'm going to be a pussy and not read your spoilered comment yet, even though I'm excited to do so. I just get _really_ paranoid of spoiling stuff and I'm currently on the hype train and will probably play Ever17 straight through until I finish the whole thing some time tomorrow or the day after. Second Ever17 playthrough synopsis:

I can definitely buy this. Although I was also bored for the entirety of Labrynth's "Yuuji's history section" (while also acknowledging it was necessary to build him up and make a justification for his overpoweredness in Fruit and Eden), and I was also often bored in the first half of Eden. The third person narration style was so snoozy compared to the style of t he first game, and something about knowing that "these events took place in the past" kills an experience for me in general. Not counting Amane's story in Grisaia 1, though, when they flash backed to being trapped in the woods. Despite being a flashback, I think that may have been my favorite part of the entire series and stands alone as an awesome story. Regardless, the thrilling second half of Eden and the after game content redeemed it for me. I'm a sucker for that particular type of ending that the after story provides (intentionally being vague here). In general, I think I take a bit of a Tsundere approach to VNs. I start off cold and judgey and just keep thinking about how I like my favorites more, then I will usually fall in love with it and sing its praises by the time I finish it and realize how it becomes something greater than the sum of its parts by the end.

You're definitely not obligated to read it, although I'm grateful you did. I've got noone to discuss the experience with in real life, so writing it out diary style is refreshing. If someone reads it, that's a nice bonus. I'm afraid of clicking on your spoiler, though, lol. Can't be getting spoiled when I'm in the middle of working out the mystery of a brand new VN!

For anyone that wants to read a wall of text and follow along with my Ever17 thought process and enjoy the ride with me (I'm not asking for comments, especially nothing that could possibly spoil me, just sharing my journey) Just finished first playthrough and this is how it went: Edit: I do take back what I said about Sora in this post. I hadn't had my coffee and beer yet when I finished her route so I was irritated.

I think I got a bad attitude about the game because I had my hopes up real high for the sister routes, played them back to back, and was majorly disappointed. Chinami from Hoshimemo set the sister bar up too high. By three routes I'm assuming you mean Anzu, Koko, and the robot, and I'd have to agree.

I just want to report that Ever17 has sick music. That is all.
