Hi, had an on again off again relationship with VNs for quite a few years, but recently the stranglehold has gotten stronger again. :)

I have been frequenting recommendations and walkthroughs for a while from the shadows but thought sometimes I cant help but wanting to join in some of the discussions. Reading pretty much any genre with some hundred VNs allready read.

Hoping to have a good time with you discussing those, new ones coming out and hidden gems I have not yet read.

    Welcome!

    Hi all,

I'm a brand new member (don't hate me yet, please).

I'm thinking about starting down the road of creating my own VN, but I've been...er...less than confident about if my stuff is up to par - so I figured I'd go to the source, and ask some folks who read VNs.

Do you think this is good enough for a VN? It's a little rough, but I'd love your opinions. This will help me decide if I want to continue, or hang it up. I'm honestly on the fence right now. It's obviously a lot of work.

I like it but you should go for making a VN even if people didn't like it. Make what you want to make and do what you want to do. :sachi:

Your story and writing are going to make or break your vn more than your art.  As long as you maintain a consistent art style, what you have should be fine.

I agree with solidbatman and GXOALMD. Do what you want to do, even if the art may not be what you want yet. Gradually you'll get better with things. In terms of your story, I like it too. Eyes are expressive as well. Again though, I think you should write what you want to. You'll enjoy it.

It looks nice, and I agree with these people.

WordPress is too simplistic to my liking. Blogger is a pain with all the styles constantly breaking. Not sure about this third option's policy, but I encourage to check fc2 blogging space. http://retrogamedaisuki.blog.fc2.com/ looks really great to me even though he had to restart his blog twice just because of a little mistake in choosing the initial template.

    I second Fc2.

I'd say if you like Shonen animes then it'd be a good time to get caught up with My Hero Academia, Seven Deadly Sins, SAO.

As far as romance goes I enjoyed Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai a lot.

I feel like Radiant has potential to become something great and from I understand the creator is from the US.

I still need to get caught up with Strike the Witch series but it's decent.

In all honesty it's all about what genre you want in a anime series.

Also there might be some good movies coming out depending on who you are.

I'll say this now the list is still updating so I would suggest checking back every now and then until Fall season officially starts (End of August or early September, maybe even until the start of October).

    Thanks!

Lol seems like the announcement list keeps getting released earlier and earlier. Anyways here you go have fun with discussing stuff I really enjoy seeing what people have to say about upcoming anime releases.

     ^^

    FALL ANIME LIST of 2019

Edit: I forgot to mention that the list is still growing so I will keep updating the list as I find them.

Any you'd recommend for someone who hasn't watched anime in a while?

    Project Introduction

Hello, With some friends we just started translating Toradora! Portable in French ! We do not have a team name but we're all on a discord server.

Our translation will be based on the already existing english patch.

    Visual Novel information

    Toradora!_Portable.jpg

Toradora! Portable (とらドラ・ポータブル! Pōtaburu) was developed by Guyzware and published by Namco Bandai Games. It's based on an rom-com anime named Toradora!

The player assumes the role of Ryuuji Takasu where he moves around school and town, conversing with characters and working towards multiple endings as part of an original storyline (note : taiga's true ending shows what happens after the end of the anime).

The game also features a minigame where players play as Taiga Aisaka, fending off lovesick guys.

    Progress

June 18 2019 : We got the text strings and the compiler from the english patch developers.
June 19 2019 : We started the translation website.
    June 20 2019 : 1.4% translated !

NOW : We're searching how to repack the .po files into the game ! Contact me by discord (username below) if you know how to do!

    Recruitment

If you want to join us :
-you need to speak french and have a good level of english (a better level than me i suppose)
-it's better to have a PC to use the website, the mobile version is not very good
-it's also better to know the anime and the game pretty well because it will be a little hard to find where in the game a string was.

If you think you can help us, send me a DM on discord (in french) saying that you're coming from this forum : 123321mario#1337 , I will send you the discord invite link.

Hello my fellow brethren! I've been stumbling into this forums from time to time when searching for VN news, recommendations, tools.. The time to come out is here.

I'm Skraal, and I'm from Spain. I've been into VNs for a while now (10~ years). Feel free to look at my VNDB profile https://vndb.org/u6087/votes?c=all;o=d;s=vote and call me a sick man with lewd and bad taste.

Also I'm about 20%~ progress on translating a certain visual novel, and I might publish the project here in the future.

So there's that, it's a pleasure to join you :mare:

    Welcome!

Seeing that Sekai even managed to freeze their almost completed projects (Tenshin Ranman and Dracu Riot), I wouldn't be surprised if they manage to freeze Rewrite later. So instead of waiting I would say that you better watch a playthrough of Rewrite first, and if you find it's good (ie didn't have much problem with it) then you can play Rewrite using the available translation. Have fun.

    Agreed...
