  1. Good luck and have fun (and feels ) True And some of the titles they give each other afterwards are hilarious
  2. It looks like sequel is coming out by the end of the year - https://vndb.org/v24626 I wonder if Sekai will translate it too. It looks like it will have routes for Ciel and Koron. Sadly, apparently still no Chisato's route
  3. This. The way she is now, she's clearly designed for hardcore lolicons only. I feel totally creeped out when I think about the possibility of h-scenes with her. I mean, Tina in SakuSaku was pretty much borderline for me, and I started to skip thru her scenes halfway thru her route, but at least they had some excuses for her - and still her body wasn't as childish as Mahiru's if my memory serves me right. With Matsuri in Kazoku Keikaku they waited a few years, so by the time of h-scenes she clearly wasn't a child, even if still petitte. Yep, as for now he's pretty decent. I literally just hit the 14 hour mark five minutes ago and haven't seen her either lol. I am enjoying the humor though. Maybe it has something to do with her being side heroine, outside from the main three. I guess, just like with Rinka, there are some conditions for meeting her?
  4. I'd much prefer Maya over Mahiru. Mahiru as a heroine makes me uncomfortable - she's way too childish, both in appearance and behaviour. I'm scared to do her route.
  5. Similar question as with Ruriko in Princess Evangile Well, at least she got a route in W/Happiness. Looks like Chuable just went belly up before they could do one for SukiSuki. I'm sure that Maya's route would be there. And maybe Eri's too? Yep. I'm not a fan of "dating sim" mechanic it seems. Prefer typical "branching story" structure. As for EN walkthrough - if there isn't one by the time I finish playing this, I may attempt to "translate" JP one linked above.
  6. Thanks, good to now. Will try that on second playthrough. I started with Ayame. Got to the beginning of her route (succesful confession).
  7. どうぞ http://seiya-saiga.com/game/chuable/sukisuki.html I didn't try it with machine translations - with my limited Japanese knowledge I'm able to map the choices to the translated ones ingame. Having girl's names listed next to them definitely helps. Names are: 彩雨 - Ayame 友希 - Yuuki / Yuki まひる - Mahiru リンカ - Rinka 千穂 - Chiho 絵里 - Eri 葵 - Aoi まや - Maya And choices for "My room mode" used in walkthrough are: 電話 - phone, 就寝 - sleep, 告白 - confess
  8. [had to keep away, but I guess it won't hurt to discuss the game itself ] I suppose that you have to use one to get the next? Walkthrough at seia-saiga doesn't mention using them - it seems that they are meant to be used as kind of "shortcuts" to get to the girl's route by instantly giving you one "relationship point", so you would miss bunch of scenes that way. Nocturnal Illusion's biggest problem was that translator apparently just sucked at English But then, that translation is like 20 years old
  9. OK, I'm out of this thread until I finish the game (yeah, right...) I came to the conclusion that it's better to enjoy VN instead of arguing over translation. It's not like I'm able to convince anybody So guys have fun at it without me
  10. That might be so - probably using direct (automatic, perhaps) replacement, was a mistake. It should be more context sensitive, since yeah, in h-scenes it might be too funny But then that's editor's screwup However I still think that leaving it as "onii-chan" everywhere would be worse in this case.
  11. Maybe she was planned for FanDisc that never happened, because Chuablesoft went belly up? ***************************** Also, everyone outraged by translating your fetishistic お兄ちゃん - just check out second meaning https://jisho.org/word/お兄ちゃん , and accept, that words have different meanings, and it wasn't the "onii-chan" you wanted, so it had to be translated speciffically so it wouldn't be mixed-up with the first one, which most of pitchfork-wielding crowd seem to do - hence the outrage. Maybe "dude" isn't the best word choice, but given Chiho's personality, and judging by the stupid shitstorm here and on vndb - leaving it untranslated would be totally misleading. It wasn't meant to be cute - it seems that my analogy with rude client calling the waitress oneechan was spot on. And I'm really baffled when I hear about "rewritten script", "americanization", Apollo's hamburgers etc - it's ridiculous overexaggeration. Up until now I didn't see anything in this VN's translation that would justify such claims.
  12. Oh! As I mentioned YU-NO, of course, there's Mio there!
  13. Ah yeah, forgot about her. She was great too. Also, I forgot another great tsundere - Aoba from Kazoku Keikaku (BTW, just like with YU-NO, character designs in the remake are much worse IMO)
  14. Other ones were: - removing honorifics - simply not true, honorifics are kept in this TL. - removing Mahiru's 3rd person speech - same situation as with Meguru in Sanoba - it is normal, if I remember correctly @Decay explained it pretty well - Spanish instead of Engrish - that's the only one I could agree with, because for most non-American/ESL readers from around the world (myself included) that Spanish will be almost completely unreadable - unlike Engrish to Japanese readers. I think best solution would be to convert this Engrish into some butchered-english equivalent, maybe misspelling it, or writing pseudo-phonetic transcriptions?
  15. Yeah, that may be the issue, but we have to remember that said "onii-chan" has various other meanings besides it's primary affectionate reference to big brother, depending on context. So, if that's the case, actually leaving it in could sometimes give wrong impression. Example, with genders reversed, but similar thing: In "Yoake", there was scene where Jin played rude client at restaurant, during Feena's training. He referred to her as " 'nee-chan", and it had nothing to do with "sister" meaning, but just meant "girl", "miss" or whatever - and was translated as such. EDIT (from reddit again): If that's indeed the case, then I'm ok with it, and leaving it as "onii-chan" would be confusing, as it already looks like those that complain about it mostly are thinking about "familial"/"imouto-like" use.
  16. Nothing, I wasn't complaining. I was just saying that since she's neither imouto-type or actual imouto, translating her "onii-chan" usage shouldn't be seen as something so wrong that it would warrant pitchfork-wielding
  17. But, as far as I got (something like third week of common route) I don't see anything radically "westernized", or whatever their complaints are about. I mean, it isn't "weeby" like old fan-TLs were, but apart from that Spanish thingy, I don't have that jarring feeling that I had with early Chrono Clock (haven't read updated version yet). I was already pretty okay with Fureraba, and SukiSuki is even tamer in its "localization" attempts. As for that poor "onii-chan" - from what I see now, Chiho isn't imouto-type character, but a bokukko - so it wasn't meant to be "cute" oniichan, rather I'd say it was used in its second, or third meaning, as general reference to young men. In which case replacing it shouldn't be a problem. But I cannot be sure until I encounter those scenes personally. But, for me, the lines of characters I met already (Yuuki, Aoi, Eri, Ayame, Maya) are all good.
  18. There are already shitstorms about localizaton style on vndb and r/visualnovels But I'm baffled by complaints about removing honorifics - my copy definitely has them intact. Unless for them removing onii-chan and 3rd person speech and removing horifics are the same thing, in which case they're just stupid Nice comment from reddit thread: For now, other than Spanish instead of Engrish being hard to understand for me, I have no complaints about TL*. Well, I haven't met Chiho yet, and I'm doing Ayame's route first. I think, anyone who got through Fureraba and Chrono Clock should be fine with it - it's pretty tame compared to those two Surprisingly, the more Japanese I know, the more I'm fine with non-literal translations. Strange... *o, yeah, Yuuki > Yuki should be fixed, but that can be considered a typo
  19. So far he doesn't look that bad. Somewhat clueless when it comes to love, but certainly not doormat or overall idiot.
  20. I'm reading it, it's nice so far. Common route choice system is a weird mix between Majikoi and dating sims For now, I'm liking the characters. MC is okay too, although certain someone probably wouldn't like him - he calls himself a "beta" or even "gamma, evolved form of beta" and seems to be proud of it There's one translation choice I'm not entirely comfortable with - when MC speaks in Engrish, it's translated into broken Spanish. I don't like it, because it probably is more obscure to me than Engrish would be to Japanese readers. (And I say Engrish deliberately, as it's broken English, used for lolz). I mean, I can't understand almost anything of it. But that's a minor issue.
  21. Well, something in between. There is some story attached to give "reason" to those scenes, and they happen after the events of the routes, so in that sense they are "afterstories" But yeah, still mostly for fanservice. Thanks to that nothing is lost in all-ages version when it comes to routes themselves You just don't get that one option in the menu.
  22. It is. All h-scenes are put into after stories.
  23. No. Sorry, forgot to make a link. It's Koi ga Saku Koro Sakura Doki.
  24. I started SukiSuki. So far, it's funny. I'm not too fond of the backgrounds' art style - it feels a little like the art from that transitional period from pixel-art to modern style, with overuse of gradients, or looking a bit like 3d renders, but probably it's just something that needs getting used to. Classroom looks nice, but for example those logs making up the restaurant walls are pretty bad IMO. Well, nothing's perfect I guess Looking forward to see how it turns out.
  25. SakuSaku and WagaHigh - two pretty good imouto routes.
