  1. When they started playing in Mashiro's route, I had a bit of deja vu
  2. If I remember correctly, there were some in Sanoba Witch too. (Meguru was a player, right?)
  3. If I'm not mistaken, there's an option for old music. As for old art - original version has been released as a DLC for PS4 version. It would be nice, if they released it for Steam users too. I browsed through screenshots on Steam. I'm fine with new backgrounds - they're really nice, but I wish they kept old character design.
  4. From what I have seen in the available screenshots, it looks like they did, by slight changes either to the "camera" angle, skirt length or character poses in redrawn CGs. And yeah, they were really awkward at times. Also, it looks that gameplay system has been revamped a bit. It eliminates pixel hunting by option to highlight all hotspots in the scene, and apparently paths in flowchart are color-coded for routes. Also, there are two(?) more jewels than in the old version.
  5. Let's bump this thread, since the remake is released on Steam. I'll probably give it a go some day, but I'm waiting for it to go on some sale, since current price is quite steep - I think the only VN more expensive than this on Steam is Clannad. People who already seen it say that translation is decent enough to not worry about it
  6. They say that CrossChannel was. Apparently that game is impossible to translate, since from what I've heard, FanTLs (two of them) weren't good either But yeah, as for their own (I mean Pulltop's) games, both A Sky Full of Stars and Adventure of Lifetime were indeed acceptable translation-wise.
  7. While we're at it - has anybody tried Steam version of Akari's route? How's the translation in it? Were RNG Gods merciful, or not? (I have PS3 original, which I'm going to read one day, but I'm curious)
  8. Yeah, Rika is cute. However, I have hard time choosing, since they're all cute - each in her own way. I'm currently on Mashiro's route (started with it), and while in the beginning of the common route I didn't think too highly about her, she grew on me, and when it came to the end of the common route, I already liked all four girls I have a feeling, that Asuka's route might be something akin to "true route", so I'm saving her for the last, and considering other suggestions here and there, my next route will be Rika, followed by Misaki and Asuka, so basically the order from Chuee's walkthrough.
  9. Thanks. Then it seems that https://vndb.org/r58672 entry on vndb should be edited to include other languages.
  10. Just to be sure - this is https://vndb.org/r58672, not Steam version with adult patch installed? I'm asking, because the latter retains multi language support. Moreover, pirated versions floating around the net are also based on cracked Steam version with adult patch, so it's impossible to check with them.
  11. Well, obviously I don't have version from other shops, but according to vndb, https://vndb.org/r58672 (+18 NekoNyan release, which is also available on MG and JAST) has only English. Do you have it? Does it have language switch in options menu? If so, it would be good to correct vndb data. It's not so obvious, because there was same situation with Wagamama High Spec for example. All-ages version (available from Sekai Project, and Steam) had language switch, while +18 version from Denpasoft, until last update, was English-only. During that last update, in March 2019, they unified both versions, and made +18 patch for all-ages version. (Before this both versions were completely separated)
  12. Maybe your antivirus doesn't like the exe and puts it into quarantine?
  13. In case of Aokana, Steam version has added value, because it contains Japanese version as well. (AFAIK other editions are English only) And there's free +18 patch on Nekonyan's site, if one wants h-scenes.
  14. Yeah, but since there are no anti-gravitons in our world, we cannot verify it
  15. Well, whatever, guess I'll leave that up to the editor (if I ever manage to get to that stage with this project ) For now I want to say, that I just finished 5th chapter (some retranslation, and translating the lines missing from official TL), which makes roughly 25% of the whole text.
  16. Yes, it happens when you refuse all four girls at route-branching choice. It doesn't have much story or any CGs, but in Steam version it gives an achievement There's no drama involved, the game just ends after short dialogue with Shion, because player haven't selected a route.
  17. Just found this on r/vn. According to Key 20th anniversary stream the translation itself is almost completed and now there's QC, editing and engine work left. (They should definitely fix those line bre aks...)
  18. Yeah, probably the graph is just off a bit. Maybe artist didn't understand it well enough themselves BTW - latest patch fixes some of the UI issues. I can confirm that "Text border" function now works as it should. (I'm playing Steam version) Yesterday I reached bad end (to get it out of the way), now onto the routes
  19. Of course Aoi or Reiko won't have routes, but that definitely won't stop us from talking about them (Because, honestly, why shouldn't we?) Exactly this.
  20. B...b...but that's not how Japanese works, FFS... If you insist on calling this "3rd person speech", then you would have to say that they speak in "3rd person" almost all the time. When you take almost any Japanese sentence, that uses character's name as a subject or topic, it will stay EXACTLY the same wheter it refers to the speaker, listener or other person, and the exact meaning depends on context. So if you wanted to be "literal" in this way, you would have to translate almost all lines that should be (and rightfully are) translated in 2nd person into 3rd person as well, and that would look and sound awfully awkward. For example, instead of "Are you hungry, Aoi-senpai?" you would have "Is Aoi-senpai hungry?". In Japanese both of these sentences would be the same. Or rather, sentence あおい先輩は、お腹が空きましたか。could mean both, depending on context. That's why the character using their own name when referring to themselves, doesn't simply translate to English "3rd person speech". The whole concept of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd person speech in English just doesn't map 1:1 to Japanese. I suppose the character using their own name when speaking about themselves is considered childish not because of using their name, but because of constantly reminding that it's about them. If they would use 私 (I) instead, it would also sound silly/weird, because "normal" person usually omits the subject/topic, when it's already established from context. It's totally different from English. It can also go the other way - since in Japanese subjects and topics often can be, and are, omitted, even the person who refers to themselves by name, can sound quite normally, except those few lines when they do it. But when you translate that as a 3rd person speech in English, which requires subject to be repeated in every sentence, it will sound MUCH weirder than in original. And BTW, goinig away from names, whatever personal pronoun - 私 (I), あなた (you) or 彼(he) - do you use in sentence instead of a name, the rest still is unchanged. From some POV, whole Japanese language is "3rd person speech". Now deal with it (Damn, I planned to stay quiet... they lured me...) TL;DR - rendering characters who in Japanese refer to themselves by their own name into 3rd person speech in English isn't good or accurate translation.
  21. I'm liking the girls so far, but would appreciate a tsundere among them - they went too "safe" way this time . (Team Chisato ) And yeah, Reiko seems good too, but Aoi doesn't attract me too much.
  22. Yeah. I think seiya-saiga just uses most "efficient" order to 100% the game, so completing the routes in the order they branch off make sense from that POV. If nothing else pops up, for now I'm sticking with Mashiro -> Rika -> Misaki -> Asuka.
  23. Looks like I found small bug. "Text border" option doesn't do anything, so it becomes necessary to use high textbox opacity, or gray text becomes invisible on the backgrounds.
  24. Finished Byakko, and started Aokana. Oh my, how beautiful that art looks The only thing I'm missing for now is language switching via key shortcuts (like in Sanoba Witch for example) - you have to go to the options menu to do it.
