  1. Hello I'm Zander and this is Jackass. Today I'll be talking about my political opinion.

I think Trump has good ideas and bad ideas, like all leaders of all nations! Even the leader of North Korea has some good ideas, what with his recent movements towards peace. I think sometimes the path that Trump takes to his ideas, both good and bad, can be more brusque than is necessary. Nonetheless, I think we should evaluate his political stances rather than attacking him as an individual wherever possible.

One thing I think we should do when discussing things is to be respectful. People get too easily inflamed or upset (myself included!) over things. Even if other people old different opinions, we are all Fuwans and should respect each other as such. For example, I hate lolicons and want the Blessed Lord to smite them with holy fire, but I'm not going to antagonise or disrespect someone here if that is their interest, and I would still be proud to call those same individuals my friend.

In fact, I think bringing our opinions to the table and finding that we hold completely different views can be a great thing! Discussion of opposing values can be very fruitful so long as it is approached in a civilised way. In fact, I'd like to apologise to the individual who was upset by the previous thread, because my manner of speaking was unnecessarily rude and condescending. I have learned from the experience and in the future will think before I type so hastily.

    Let's all be friends, friends!

edit: why did this thread get moved tho?  if this isn't topical discussion about something, I dunno what is... I thought CoC was for shitposting

  2. phantom of inferno's english version has the sexual content removed oops

For a VN that focuses on NTR, NTR Homestay is literally the only choice. It isn't translated, but that's not important. Daniel Garcia is a God that should be witnessed by any and all visual novel readers, no matter their sexual appetites.

I am from the USA and I do not appreciate those bashing my country.  If this is how it is going to be, then I think political discussions should be banned from the forums.

Could you please reread what you just said and think about it for a short while? Ban political discussions? My American friend, free discussion is the cornerstone of your very own Bill of Rights.

I live in the United States myself, and I don't have a problem with anything said here.  "Bashing" is nothing more than opinionated criticism. If we don't voice our opinions or criticise those others put forward, how do we have a discussion about anything at all?

I can understand you feeling slighted, but just as you said about NK, nobody is criticising Americans but their government. Their statements may be correct or incorrect, they may be grounded in facts or based on suspicion and personal bias, so just take it with a grain of salt and not personally. Also, always remember that the majority of people here are braindead memers and not political analysts.

  4. Congratulations, Dreamysyu. You are a valued member of this community, reasonable and even-tempered, and a consistently quality contributor. I look forward to your next thousand posts as much as I have enjoyed the previous thousand.

Unfortunately, I can't bring any nice VN fanarts here, as I do not read visual novels.

what a stupid thread with a middle school level of historical understanding.

Your words strike true, sire, but I implore you to impart your own wisdom upon the thread. As I understand it, you are a man of letters. This is an excellent opportunity to educate the indigenous population of retards here, better known as Fuwanovelers, including myself.

  6. It's great that some semblance of peace has finally come to light in the Korean Peninsula, but I fear for the situation in the rest of the world. Far in the west, in the Americas, a belligerent, jingoistic United States has its salivating visage locked onto the Middle East; beyond the former Iron Curtain to the East, mother Russia looms over Eastern Europe like a crazed den mother.

War is hell, and casualties are everywhere. Soldiers, their brothers-in-arms, their mothers at home; all suffer and lament and cry out in pain and writhe and die.

In these post-apocalyptic scenarios, these casualties are always considered. The human element and our compassion for fellow man is contained. But war and the waste of resources in its name kills something far more important to all of us here than any human: 2D anime porn. No doubt Moon Jai-In and Kim Jong-Un have recognised this, and that their proximity to Japan endangers its production, and thus made peace. I only hope that the rest of the world can do the same before we have to live in a world where I cannot walk in on underaged  18 year old anime girls while they're in the dressing room or on the toilet.

Good luck waiting for a good enough editor willing to "write" your loli project then my brethren. Most people aren't into lolis sold to a brothel.

What did you just say about lolis sold to a brothel, Kokoro? I'll have you know I graduated top of my English Literature class at the University of Miami, and have over 50 confirmed credits as a visual novel editor. I am trained in English and I am well known as one of the top editors on Fuwanovel. As we speak I am contacting my network of experts across the internet right now to assemble and work on Musumaker together so you better prepare for the patch, maggot. If only you knew what kind of lolige your "clever" little comment was about to bring onto the world, maybe you would haven't clicked on "Submit Reply". But you couldn't, you didn't, and now the entire VN community will pay the price.

  8. I wouldn't sweat about all the ins and outs of translation just yet. If you're serious about doing it in the future, just focus on learning Japanese and improving your English for now. Becoming familiar with Japanese culture would be helpful as well, because translating requires a lot more than just transferring words from one language into the other.

You don't need to be of a certain age or have a credit card or anything like that for a fan translation; nobody gets paid on fan TL projects unless it gets picked up by a localisation company. If you're trying to work for a localisation company you'll need some experience under your belt. Localisation companies have different requirements, but you can probably get an idea of what they expect from their websites.

Translation teams usually consist of one or more translators, TLCers [that check the accuracy and quality of the translation],  editors, and QC / proofreaders. There are also other roles like hackers that work with the game files / script and image editors for English-ifying CGs or decensoring mosaics among other things.  You can learn about editors and what they do from Darbury and Fred's blogs if it interests you.

I am finished with a vn when the crappy loli route is left, and i consider it finished.

Agreed. Based on my experiences, the universal opinion around here and in the greater VN community at large [both in the West and in Japan] seems to be that loli routes are inherently worthless garbage that isn't worth anyone's time. Why developers continue to include them is beyond me.

I know I might be sounding quite harsh, but I try to be helpful and objective. I know people would would be a whole lot harsher than I am regarding a post like this.

No worries, your post was fine, and precisely expressed in words what my initial thoughts were.

Yes, because I am anxiously awaiting the Musumaker patch. All eyes are on you and your team.

And what do you think about me :marie:

Generally sensible individual. Somewhat humorous, refined writing style that I appreciate. Quality avatar, as opposed to animegirl#28291.jpg. Sometimes a bit cocksure, but not egregiously so. Questionable taste in visual novels relative to mine. Ostensibly experienced with VN translations, but I don't know enough to conclude that.

Overall, not yet enough information for me to form a complete opinion. Keep posting here on Fuwanovel. We will be watching.

  12. Best of luck Suzuki, and don't let these crotchety old guard fools discourage you. VirginSmasher is an EOP, after all.

The visual novels you mentioned are a bit too childish for my God-fearing, law-abiding self otherwise I would gladly purchase them for you to help out, in accordance with local tradition.

Of course, as others suggested, do focus on one at a time. Even one VN, no matter how short, is a handful.

I would have to add that I actually had planned to use the time right now for (internal tasks not published) for the Musumaker translation project. Now I'm not in a good mood and will likely end up not getting anything done today at all because of this

Sorry about that, when making this thread my intention certainly wasn't to put anyone in a bad mood! I hope you can get some stuff done regardless. And if it's any consolation, I read your post, so it wasn't fully ignored ;)

i know you guys see it as being harmless and it is but really derailing a convo for the sake of... whatever is off putting to other users who want to have a discussion.

I certainly see what you're saying, but I don't believe that anyone has the intent of attacking the individual / targeted bullying. He did seem like he was okay with it and was joking around a bit too, and perhaps that might be why those people thought it was OK to continue.  Of course, that's no excuse to take it so far.

[snip-snip] This means that either there's some horrible bias involved, or there are some common-sense distinctions between having fun from time to time and making a total mess.

I would imagine some people would try to convince you of the former, but I haven't been around long enough to know. I hope it's not the case. Admittedly, I have trouble making the distinction sometime, because, well, I enjoy shitposting and having fun. It's partially why I haven't posted so much, because I don't want to be bothersome in that regard.

Thank you all for sharing in any case, And, you know, for not derailing my thread with shitposts :Kappa:

Quite the can of worms to open dearie, there are wrong doings on all sides.

It is, but at the same time I think it is important to hold an open discussion that accounts for the community as a whole; after all, the direction and sustainability of any forum is determined by its members. Also, my own personal curiosity persists.

  15. So, something I've noticed ever since I've joined is that there is, quite often, "troll" attacks that come in waves here on the site. For the most part, it's harmless and humorous, but naturally tends to derail whatever thread it takes place in. On rare occasion I have participated in these, more out of curiosity and getting swept up in the moment rather than any malicious intent. Today, I noticed that it happened again and a few of the culprits were banned and had their posts deleted.

However, something I've noticed is that there isn't much communication between bystanders and these attackers. I am curious what the members of Fuwanovel think about this phenomenon - i.e, whether they think it is a funny diversion and something they're okay with on Fuwanovel or if they want it gone completely, leaving room only for serious discussions [outside of the Coliseum, I suppose].

Note I in no way mean to discuss the moderation team or anything related to them - that is, after all, a violation of the rules.

    So, what do you think?

  16. I think Sekai Project receives too much flak. People are quick to jump on an internet criticism bandwagon without knowing the full story behind things.

It's clear that their recent releases are of unusually low quality, but they also have an extensive portfolio of quality successful releases and are making motions to fix the ones that are not-so-quality. My primary concern is that they're very opaque and don't divulge information to people that have paid good money for their product until they're forced to.

  17. I don't really like it, as in my opinion it generally leads to a story having cute girls for the sake of having cute girls, and I couldn't care less about there being cute 2D girls in my anime slideshow. If anything, I think we need more not-so-attractive characters.

At the same time, I recognise that the majority of visual novel readers value cute girls above all else, leaving me in a sombre state of acceptance.
