  1. Well by the looks of it, they are advancing the timeline by a year which is interesting. Personally I would have liked it if they advanced it two years and introduce a new cast and main character. That way they cold have some of the old cast (teachers, first years who are now third) and other characters could cameo easily.
  2. Hmmm aside from Rance and Kamidori the only two games that come to my mind is Eiyuu*Senki , which is an SRPG and the edited machine translation of Ikusa Megami Zero. The only character who I would consider as dominant as the MC from Bunny Black is Rance. The protagonists of Kamidori and Eiyuu*Senki are more passive.
  3. Well there is an edited version of the machine TL so it's readable at least. I enjoyed reading it, but I'm also the type that reads through grammatical or other type of errors Some people also say that the editor took some liberties in the translation, but it's not like there are any alternatives sadly. Personally I think you are better of learning japanese and reading them yourself, then waiting for a TL. At least that is what I'm trying to do since I got bored of waiting -.-'
  4. I read about the game before it came out and I never heard that this was ment to be AA3. It's missing some core features for that and since the harem setting alone prevents the implementation of those, I highly doubt that this was planed as AA3 unless they chaged it at the planning phase. It's still true that it's really similar though. Honsetly I didn't play much, since I think these games are missing some much needed gameplay elements and I get bored because of that. By that I mean they need to make the realtionship system more deep. In both this and AA2 you can just spam certain conversations and you are done. I would hope that when AA3 comes around they revise the system so you need to do some actual work to manage your realtionship but I highly doubt that
  5. Little late, but I would also suggest Eiyu*Senki.
  6. A recently saw in a video how they censored some CG-s from a game. The CG-s only had girls in swimsuit or in bath (steam covering the important parts) and in the censored version they just put big giant beams of light over everything. Half of the CG was covered by light. At that point they should might as well remove the CGs altogether. Also why do bellybuttons need censoring? I honestly don't understand that.
  7. The only one that comes to mind is Edelweiss from Overdrive. I was surprised when one of the MC's friend got a girlfriend even before the MC
  8. Well, vndb has a tag for that so you can look around there: https://vndb.org/g1824
  9. Started watching anime as a kid -> watched most of the anime that were intersting and easy to find -> wanted something similar in style -> started reading manga -> read all the translated manga that I liked and were easy to find -> wanted something similar in style -> started reading VN-s A pretty clear progression. Also I'm not saying a read and watched everything, it just became harder and harder to find things that really grabbed me so I decided to look elsewhere.
  10. I just do other things I was reading Tsujido and Primal x Hearts a few weeks ago but got in the mood to play skyrim and now I don't read anything. There is no point in forcing it, if I'm clearly not in the mood to read. I bet I will soon start reading again. If nothing else, at least Primal x Hearts since I use that to study japanese.
  11. Fairy Tail, nice These day I don't watch much anime but I will find the time for this one. The only ones I recognised, while skimming through it is Goblin Slayer, which will be a fun ride and Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Mina which I just generally find wierd, I just simply forgot about the manga because it complelty failed at drawing me in.
  12. Interesting to see that this is such an important topic. I only became aware of it since I started reading this forum. Personally I don't think much about the technicalities. I like honorifics because I simply get annoyed when I hear the characters using it and then seeing it missing from the text. When I understand parts of the language and I hear and read different things, that just rubs me the wrong way. That is also why I never play games in my own language, when they are tranlsated and just stay with english. Oh and I also like to listen to english the same way I like to listen to japanese while I play JRPG-s. Maybe I'm just weird
  13. If you do the bridge quest, Suina just destroys everything at the start of the game so I didn't have problems. That being said this game is a dick at giving you optional timelimited quests, that are literally impossible to do unless you reload and grind before it. Edit: Oh I forgot to mention that if you don't want to level everyone than focusing mainly on the flying characters can help since they can move around more freely. Still it's a good idea to level everyone because soem characters are obviously better againts certain enemies.
  14. Congrats What will be the next game from that looooong backlog?
  15. To me it looks like it is the japanese opening but translated with english vocals. If they translated it with the game then it might get released with it The only thing I found is that the japanese versions name is "Unmei no Kagi".
  16. Hmm it looks kinda nice Could you tell me how hard is the language in it? I'm just starting out reading with machine assistance and would like to know if I should read it sooner or rather later As for the topic, the first thing that immediately popped into my mind is Monster Girl Quest. I don't think you can get more "Heroe's Journey" than that.
  17. The scenes are one thing. Where they messed up in S is that 2 of the main routes were just scenes and barely antihing else. Monshiro and Tsubame had some good story going on, Kokoro was ok but Tatsuko and Margit had no actual story to speak about. At least Margit get's a fandisk route where you get to meet her whole squad but Tatsuko is kind of fucked
  18. Congrats finishing it then I only read the translated games and I actually forgot that I didn't read the after stories of the original heroines in S. Well they have to wait since I'm still sitting on the last route in Tsujido, the last route in Comyu (which I'm afraid to read at this point), Edelweiss, the Kira Kira Deardrops fandisc, I also want to check out Hapymaher and I just finished Hatsukoi after leaving it alone for months. Not to mention I also want to start reading in japanese at one point this summer. Damn I remember how I fell in love with this game when I first started reading it and then waited for years checking yandere translation every few days to see nothing happening for years but after S came out I felt like I read too much of it. Got a little fed up with the "strong-willed girl gets all shy and submissive in a relationship" thing that makes 90% of the games. Also kind of got bored with Yamato being every womens type in Kawakami. Still hopefully a new fandiscs will get translated at somepoint and I can get back into it
  19. Thanks, usually having these kind of weaknesses gives room for the character to grow so I don't mind unless the game constantly shoves it in my face But as you said, I will see if I like him when I play the game
  20. Since this is the first time I hear about this game I'm curious why do people dislike the MC? (only if this can be answered whitout spoilers )
  21. Nice I was waiting for this game for some time now Don't know if it's good but I like the character design, art style and that it has some gameplay whihc is more then enough to pique my interest
  22. More like some people think their opinion are fact and everyone else who thinks differently are trash. Not to mention when they put titles on themselves like "I'm a gamer" they feel their opinion matters more. Funny since it doesn't actually matter -.-' There can be one to a million reason "why now". From a business standpoint they may see a "future" in VNs, maybe they are leaving a door open for the chance that VNs get more popular in the west. I'm leaning towards, that they want to distinguish themselves from Steam as you said
  23. Well I only played the sister side route and renna route fully (still on the Maki route) and I have to agree all three has a kind of back and forth. The sister's route is short so I don't really remember, but Renna's route had several moments where she was on top of things if I remember corretly. Maki is a lot more submissive when it comes to H scenes. Better wait for some more confident responses, because I didn't have time to read in the last few weeks and I don't wanna mislead you. I still think it isn't even nearly on the same level as majikoi when it comes to this topic. Damn that game really liked to overuse the trope of "strong girl becomes completely submissive in the relationship".
  24. I don't even get why is this a debate. Yes MTL is bad and sometimes get's things completly wrong, but it's up to the individual if they want to read that way. It hurts nobody expect the readers reading experience and that person most likely knows full well what they are getting into. As for the original post, I find it funny how you gave up on VNR and barely looked at Chiitrans lite These are the ones I have been using for the past year for translating minor rpg-s. As @sanahtlig said before me, there is a difference in hooking and translation. You can use VNR to hook text to clipboard really easily and then use Chiitrans to translate from there using ATLAS to get the best result.
  25. At home. Never even had the idea to read VN-s on the road. Mainly because I don't travel that much and I also can't really immerse myself in it, if I have to worry about the surroundings. As for the idea that other games take up my time at home, well it isn't job is it? If I'm in a mood to play some other games I play other games, there is no point to force myself to read when I'm not in the mood. I'm still siting on the last route of hatsukoi, on the second route of tsujido and haven't even checked out Marrige Lunatics and I'm happyling playing witcher 3 at the moment
