This, I'll let you judge yourself

Ok, roulette is over and I'm here bragging about my results. But as non-gala numbers are boring, lets make a resume:
Total free draws: 770 (400 during both 6% period); 47 SSRs from free draws, 14 on non-gala banners; 30 Gold Moons; Non-fest highlights: 3th Belial & Hector; Sad moment: a single xmas unit, Mary(Gold Moon). Pretty sure I'm in the lucky side of results, got 20 or 30 draw almost everyday with a free spark during gala. No room for complaints but a single nitpick: because of soo many rolls, I got only one Gachapin frenzy, no Mukku.

    Now into the gala info:
Started Flashfest with ~500 draws, got 140 from roulette and completed with my funds.
Sparked Alexiel; SSR Charas: Amira(Moon), Beatrix(Moon), Dante(Moon), Drang, Europa(Moon), Jeanne d'Arc (Dark/Moon), Ladiva, Lancelot(Wind), Lancelot&Vane, 2x Lucio(Moon), 2x Silva(Light/Moon), Vira(Light/Moon), Yuisis(Wind/Moon); Summons: Ca Ong, 2x Elil, Grand Order, Halluel and Malluel, Rafael, Setekh, Surtr; Sadly didn't roll Shalem or my spark target but with 23 SSRs, 5 Grand weapons, 3 unsparkable summons and Ca Ong, It's a valid tradeoff.
Heck I could even go light primal now with 4x Eden, 2x Certificus, 3x Gambanteinn and Zeus.

Down to ~360 draws into Legfest and got... 260 free rolls!! I-I don't even know if I landed on 200 or won 100 + Jan-ken-po (skipped animation every day).
Sparked Vikala; SSR Charas: Anthuria(Moon), Arulumaya, Athena(Moon), Freiheit(Moon), Ghandagoza(Moon), Hallessena(Moon), 3x Lucius(2x Moon), Macula Marius, 2 Noa, Rosetta(Moon), Sarunan(Dark/Moon), Tiamat(Moon), Veight(Moon), Yngwie(Moon), Yodarha(Moon), Yuisis(Fire), Zeta(Dark/Moon); Summons: **AGNI**, 2x Belial, Gilgamesh, Oceanus, Thor; MY OWN AGNI AT LAST. Considering only him it's already a worthful spark, adding everything else turn into pure blessed. Except Belial, I could live without him(or three, for instance).
As I wasn't expecting such luck, I 'wasted' 20 rolls during last day, which netted another Ichigo.

In the end, I still have an entire spark fund ready. Maybe for valentine or anniversary, let's see what this year holds.

Blessings for all us this year too.

I guess I'm the exact opposite. I've been watching all kind of weird shit imaginable since a very, very young age (11-12 yo). It never really bothered me, and while you might argue that "it surely must have had consequences in your psyche that you're not aware of yourself", the fact is that I'm not a violent person AT ALL, I've never been in a physical fight in my entire life and I don't have any sort of weird inclinations. I can see someone getting ripped off and torn into pieces on a screen without even flinching, but when it comes to real life, I struggle to even cook my meat when I have to look at a dead chicken or rabbit.
It all comes down to empathy, I think. I do find hard to watch when bad things happen to characters I care about, but since most gore media's goal is not exactly to make characters you particularly care about, the imagery by itself can't stir up any powerful emotions in me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What I'm trying to say is that while I can't relate to lolicon fans or people who enjoy some good ol' rape in their VNs, I do know where they are coming from when they say they keep it completely separate from reality. After all, I know I'm no psychopath even though I don't feel anything while seeing random people suffer in a gore movie.

Some madman barged into KyoAni offices earlier today and lit the building up with gasoline. The BBC article claims there's 33 dead, but I imagine the number will go up, as there's both many people being treated in hospitals with heavy injuries and I don't think it's even clear there are no more bodies in the building.
    Holy fucking shit.
Edit: And for the context, KyoAni was responsible for all the highly-rated Key adaptations, that is Clannad, Kanon (2006 version) and Air. Also Kobayashi's Dragon Maid which is still one of my all-time favourite shows. It looks like many high-rank employees died in the fire, including the director of Clannad anime (thankfully, it seems this one was just a false rumour) and well-known animators.

Oh I know exactly what you want, because it's the same I want in my romance  Unfortunately, and for some weird reason, it proves to be quite difficult to find an anime with a relationship that resembles an actual relationship.
Well, let me try giving a couple of suggestions. For a light-hearted fantasy anime, I'm quite fond of Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry. The main couple introduction is kinda meh, I'll admit, but I'm a fan of the development and how it handles the tropes you might expect in this kind of series.
For more drama oriented stuff, I wholeheartedly recommend SukaSuka (shuumatsu nani shitemasu ka? isogashii desu ka? sukutte moratte ii desu ka?). The characters don't mess around. They know what they want, they want to be happy and will do everything in their hands to achieve that goal. Unfortunately it's a tragedy, so bring kleenex. If you read the LN and then watch the anime you are not safe, I warn you. A heart can only bear that much.

So, lately I've noticed that few things give me as much joy as romance anime that take the romance part seriously - and by seriously I don't mean drama-filled, but quickly establishing the main girl, consistently developing the relationship between her and the protagonist (genders can be reversed), and concluding everything in a proper manner (the characters are clearly a couple by the end of it). This is something that majorly boosted my enjoyment of shows such as Bunnygirl Senpai, Yamada-san and the Seven Witches or even the initial arc of SAO. So, I kind of wanted to gather recommendations for shows that actually deliver in this department. Preferably in a lighthearted manner, but the anxiety-inducing drama is also acceptable if the payoff is worth it. Things I haven't seen yet, but probably fit my criteria are for example (correct me if I got any of those wrong):

Overall, a pretty good show. Would give positive remarks about it should anyone ask me if it's good. While the start was really, really weird due to what I've mentioned before, it manages to better establish itself as its characters grow.
Wonder what I'll pick up next, hmmmm.

Soo, I couldn't sleep much today, but on the bright side, I was able to binge the rest of Mahoutsukai no Yome and... Eh, it was kind of disappointing - in the end the series felt 40% brilliant and 60% pompous, overstylized mess. I was absolutely charmed by the prequel OVA, as they showed the best elements of the show: awesome production quality, climate-building and Chise herself, who's consistently an interesting and compelling protagonist. The main series however was very hit and miss, often feeling just weird and overindulgent. The further it went, the more inconsistent it got, leaving me with seriously mixed feelings. And that's a real shame, because I really for this series to be special and its main building blocks - the characters of Chise and Elias, their backstories and the peculiar relationship that grows between them - are quite excellent.
As a whole, this anime has its share of 10/10, deeply touching moments, but even more 6/10 or 5/10 ones - it all sums up to a fairly weak 8, although the prequel story and the first few episodes of the main show are still a solid 9. And well, I guess even a weak 8 sounds pretty good in the end, but it could've easily been much more than that...

There's plenty of stuff I dropped before even starting when I saw tags I didn't like or got halfway through the synopsis and realised it was clearly not for me, but the one that I did start playing and stopped within about a minute was Casual Romance Club which had this horrible multi window interface to a dating sim and was the first (and hopefully last) game where the Japanese VAs also voiced their lines optionally in Engrish so bad it was facedeskworthy.  I think the Engrish was more of a turn off than the interface even though you could leave it in Japanese. I didn't even remember this but looking at the screenshot below it looks like all the names were localised into oblivion as well.

Last week, had my occasional anime marathon with my friend. We watched three shows, two of which were new for me.
First show was Made in Abyss. At first I thought it was going to be full of furry bait and despair after being exposed to countless Nanachi fanart, but I'm glad to say that it exceeded expectations. I absolutely loved the adventurous feeling the show had going for it, embodied by the characters of Riko and Reg.
Second show was Violet Evergarden. I expected it to be a romantic show with how there was so much emphasis in the feeling of love from the start, but I am pleasantly surprised with how it turned out. Violet is such a precious person. I absolutely loved watching her develop into the kind of person she wanted to become. Cried every other episode. I'm a crybaby.
I think I'll watch Kokoro Connect next. I have to at least try out @Roach's recommendations.

Well, I kinda have a theory of why that might be the case. As a matter of fact, crying releases stress hormones and produces endorphins... it makes us feel good. We tend to regard crying as something negative because it's usually asociated with pain, either physical or emotional. However, when you are able to cry your heart out without any real problem causing it, doesn't it suddenly become something positive and a sort of emotional healing tool?
Then leaving that aside and going into more subjective grounds... Sad stories feel 'more real' for me. Why is a story sad? What makes it sad? I'd say that it's the fact that it contains heavy struggles for the characters that, in spite of their best efforts, not always have a satisfying conclusion for all parts involved. It doesn't get realer than that. Feeling for the characters makes them also feel more human, thus perceiving them as better characters, and by virtue of that, a better story.
Not that I don't also appreciate some light-hearted stuff now and then as well, of course, but when I think about it, it doesn't really come as a surprise to me that sad stories are the ones that left a bigger impact in me.

Definitely, even if statistics were shown that people exposed to this kind of content are slightly more likely to commit crimes, I wouldn't advocate for its ban. Though then it could become a matter of whether the ends justify the means. I can see how some people, especially those who don't like that content, might be willing to give it up to prevent a small number of crimes. As for me, unless it had been proven to be a freaking pandemic, I would still defend the right to create, distribute and consume any kind of fiction (obviously among adults).
But you see, that was not even my point. My point was that this is exactly the same as banning violent video games because there might be a chance that some people commit crimes by being exposed to them, which some people in this thread tried to deny, because you know, it's uncool to be so close-minded in the times we live in. But bashing sexual fetishes? That's not only perfectly fine, but also gives you the moral highground! Because obviously anyone who doesn't stick up for fictional women and children are terrible people.

I remember I had an argument with you over some political views that touched upon some of the topics you mention here. Keeping that in mind and recalling how things transpired, I know better than to engage in another debate with you. Moreover, that's completely beside the point.
If you feel hurt, frustrated or whatever by being here, hey, just leave, that's your prerogative and there's no right or wrong. But just let me tell you one thing. No matter where you go, you'll find people whose opinions heavily conflict with yours. Some of them you'll find disgusting and will make you feel outraged. Maybe if you had the power to do so you'd become a tyrant and outright ban everything that doesn't fit your vision of the world. But you know what? The truth of the matter is that you are powerless, and no one cares about what you think is right. If you don't learn to accept that you'll feel uncomfortable anywhere and everywhere. Optionally you could create your own echo chamber, shun everyone that makes you feel offended and become the bigot that you accused other people of being. Again, your prerogative.
Let me remind you that in order not to leave everything to the subjective righteousness of a few, we have laws. As long as those laws are abided by, we must objectively accept that no human rights have been violated. You are obviously entitled to feel in a certain way about a subject, but by openly holding in contempt law-abiding people who just happen to differ in their views you come across as someone who prooobably should get off his high horse. Carelessly disliking people and making you unlikable yourself doesn't tend to yield very good results, that much I can unfortunately tell from experience, because I think as teenagers everyone stood there to some extent. Some people just drag it out for longer than it should last.

I'm pretty sure you're thinking about Funya's post. I only argued that I don't completely agree they're similar, as I think sexual stuff influences us on a slightly deeper level and, on average, have more of an effect on our lives and behaviour than most other things we get from media. It should be quite easy to substitute violent video game with some other entertainment in all but most extreme cases, but if you develop a strong sexual fetish...
But even that is us talking about those borderline cases that no one really knows the actual scale of? In general, you don't need to convince me of this stuff, even if I'd be more wary of the influence extreme porn has on people, I don't think the proofs of that influence are solid enough to justify bans, especially considering how poorly those work most of the time. The real challenge is spreading this awereness to the sea of normies that surround us, with torches and pitchforks ready at slightest sign of "peadophilia". I don't think that will happen any time soon and we as VN fans have to take that into account, whether we like it or not. :>

    .
You read an unpolished gem. You found some interesting parts, narrative patterns, or thoughts in the novel that you enjoyed. While parts of it may have dragged or been unpolished, there's a certain charm to it all. You want to shill it to all your friends so they can enjoy it too, and start to think about whom it would be good to recommend it to. You look up other works by the author...
    .
You read something you ultimately didn't find amazing, but think will be interesting to discuss with people. You don't feel like you wasted your time, exactly; maybe you used it suboptimally, but how could you know? You know more about the medium and can draw more parallels with other works when talking to other people deeply into the medium.
    .
You read something pretty garbage. You find solidarity with other people in talking about just what makes it such trash. It lets you see how storycraft can go wrong, and improves your pattern recognition to help you avoid something so disappointing again. You know the medium better, have better picking skills, and have something new to meme about.
    .
You read a Fuwanovel forum post by a fifteen year old trying but failing to sound profound, and cringe. And you see, that's why I'm so concerned and show so much involvement in this topic. A priori one could think that I shouldn't care, since I'm not someone who consumes lolicon, fictional rape or any other stuff aside from the most vanilla, romantic stuff out there. That's my fetish, if you wanna call it that way  But the thing is, this is a very slippery slope. I think we are finally getting over the whole "violent games breed murderers and mass shooters" bullshit, except for the most conservative sectors, but the stigma on the otaku culture is as pervasive as ever.
Which brings me to the difference I think you made (was it you?) about the two. I wanted to comment on it earlier but something came up and it completely went over my head later. You (or someone else, whatever ) said something along the lines of "the difference between violent video games and lolicon/rape content is that in video games people don't actually enjoy the act of murdering per se, while the whole point of iffy sexual content is the gratification you get by it being iffy". Which apparently seems like a sound argument... but I think it's not. Works that include that 'iffy' sexual content do so for a whole arrangement of different reasons. In many of them the intention is to cause shock value, disgust, and yes, in some cases, to appeal to those people who actually get sexual gratification with that fictional content (and mind you, I don't think there's anything wrong with that). The point is, people who don't get off to that kind of content will not be searching after works whose only point is that content. I don't enjoy fictional rape, and really, no matter how much exposure I get to Euphoria and similar VNs, I won't ever come to like it. That's what taste is like, and that's what a fetish is like as well. Keeping this in mind, yes, I will stand by the claim that both arguments, the violent video games make people violent, and lolicon content makes people child molesters, are exactly the same in essence.
Some people who get satisfaction by killing people in video games might also enjoy killing people in real life. Yes, there are messed up people out there, and it has nothing to do with video games. Fortunately though, most people who enjoy seeing characters in a screen suffer would not actually enjoy it with an actual living being. Just like that, I know for a fact that most lolicon consumers would never look at a real child in that way. One of my favorite replies to this ever is one comment I read about someone accusing a lolicon fan of being a pedophile. His response? "What? I hate children. They are disgusting."
But ok, let's say that there's some correlation. I think it's obvious that lolicon doesn't make pedophiles just like playing Euphoria didn't make me a rapist, but let's say that all lolicon were actually pedophiles. So what? You cannot stop people's thoughts, you know. What if that person is an artist, draws lolis and jerks off to them?  That's why it's absurd to go thought policing. Real wrongdoings are things that happen in the real world, and everything else is just fighting a lost battle, at least until it's technologically possible to read people's thoughts and sentence them for that. That's a very scary idea.
