I made this list almost 3 and a half years ago, making this list and maintaining it has taken a fair amount of effort, but for the most part I thought it wasn't too bad and updating it gave me a good insight into how scores on vndb would change after english releases and in general just a good overview of the official publishers of visual novels in english. However the last few months I really kind of stopped caring that much for this list and updating it became more of a chore.
One reason is probably that I have been at this for quite a while about 3 and a half year is a fairly long time, the other being improvements to the visual novel database search functions, I recently made a video about these search functions and honestly I don't see the point in this list anymore. Especially now that you can search for producer/publisher on vndb and get things properly sorted rather than before where you could just get a chronological order of what they released.
Because of this I plan to stop updating this list, I will do my last updates for it this weekend, but after that I probably won't do further updates. I still see a point in the one for physical releases though and that takes way less effort so I will maintain that one.

Here is from Nekonyan's blog late March regarding Dracu Riot. So a HD remaster seems to be what is holding it up at the moment.

You guys have been waiting very patiently for a really long time for this game, and we know you want to know what the holdup is. We’ve seen the comments don’t worry. There IS a reason for it, however, and we can finally talk about it now!
The truth is… Dracu Riot is getting a full HD Remaster and re-release in JP as well as in English!
Fortunately, Yuzusoft had the original super high res assets, so we’re going to be working on getting the entire game rebuilt from the ground up with high res assets and a new UI. It will be on our Unity engine and receive a total upgrade, including the same features you see in newer Yuzusoft projects, voice bookmarking, and more! Meow is currently working on the Clover Days port, once that is complete, he will begin the work of porting and implementing the new features for Dracu Riot!

If it has a physical copy available and I want it I will probably not wait on sale as it might sell out and sales for physicals are rare. If it is digital I will probably wait for a sale unless it is something I really want to start reading as soon as possible. At the moment I have a backlog of 57 VNs and most likely the VN will be on sale before I would have gotten around to it. So basically I have too large of a backlog to justify buying digital at full price.

Having read about 15 VNs based on anime the Date a Live one is in my opinion the best of the visual novels based in anime so ye I would probably go for that one, not only due it it being more easily accessible but also the higher quality.

Noticed the konosuba VNs on your wishlist, they aren't really bad VNs but they certainly pale in comparison to the anime in my opinion, would give the VNs about 6/10 while the anime 9/10. Shinpan also has a problem with long segments of the VN lacking voice acting and the other konosuba VN has a needlesly complex gameplay system making it a pain in the ass to get into the different routes. Figured I would tell you as it is quite hard to find information on most VNs that are based on anime.

Considering you seem to like Nekopara I would recommend The Ditzy Demons Are in Love With Me as it has the same artist and writer and has a very similar feel just a bit more perverted. Also are you able to read japanese? Looking at your wishlist on vndb it seems a fair amount of VNs you have on your wishlist are not translated.

Otama in Nisekoi Yomeiri isn't actually a heroine but rather a cute loli that has importance for the VN. There is no romance with her and no route dedicated to her.

These types of VNs generally aren't that impressive. A few I would consider good but mostly they are just decent enough and that generally means an okay enough read primarily from having characters you already like and the interactions between them being decent and not from a interesting or great story. Some are also just really horrible, will get to some of the really bad ones in later parts.
About the Umaru VN what impressed me the most was that they really went in far with the romance with ebina compared to what other similar VNs based on anime tend to do (btw this is still very far from what your typical mid length eroge does) especially with her not being built up too much to be a love interest in the anime. Also some jokes were quite well done and I can remember some fun situations. I would consider it a decent read if you like Umaru, but not really something you need to go out of your way to read, you will probably have a much better time going for highly rated vns on vndb than going for it.

Ebina one is romance, as for Kirie and Sylphinford it is more so about their connection to their respective brothers, not incest like but just things like getting along better and understanding them better. As for Umaru her routes also kind of is about her connection to her brother in a non incest way, what she will become in the future is seperate from the routes and the typical ending and is just kind of a bonus ending after the ending.

one for the gremlin Umaru, one for UMR her gaming identity and one for outside Umaru. Then there is also one ending for Ebina one for Kirie and one for Sylphinford. On top of that there are as I mentioned extra endings after that where Umaru ends up in some proffesion depending on stats.

I wonder how many of the people who sign this petition actually would end up paying for the VN. Considering how widespread piracy seem to be in the VN community I wonder how many of the votes are just people who want it translated to then pirate it versus those that plan to actually buy it. I just hope it doesn't end up where they localize it due to the petition and it sells really bad and that ends up with the japanese visual novel companies in general having more disstrust towards the english readerbase.

Ye really doubt it would make sense to release any VN for PS5 atm. Considering how easy it should be for a PS4 to handle a VN I don't think they can really promote things like using the power of the PS5 to play a VN more smoothly. Just relaying on the backwards compatability atm makes way more sense then making a VN specifically for the PS5. Nothing to really gain in terms of performance boost and there are also way more PS4 currently than PS5 and when the PS5 can play PS4 games anyways I really doubt they would really gain any sales from a PS5 specific build that they can promote specifically for PS5.

Not really a hidden gem VN but rather a hidden gem waifu Anastasia Imperator Erland from Love Love ♥ Princess the VN itself is pretty nice but not good enough that I would call it a hidden gem, but Anastasia Imperator Erland is just really fantastic and outshines the other girls in the VN by a lot.

That it naturally occurs in animals does mean it is natural, natural does not mean optimal or purpose driven it just means that it is a natural occuring thing not created by some sort of ideology within human society. There is nothing about how things should or shouldn't be it is just how it is. As for why this is I am not sure as I have not bothered looking into any evolutionary explenation for it, but from my understanding the frequenzy at which it is found in nature makes it a natural occuring thing.

I did not intend to say people were generally evil or something like that in the past rather that currently during the current social climate empathy has become much more of an important ideal than it used to be in the past.

Strongly dissagree with this, if you look at older societies there is way less of a focus on empathy than today. Slavery, killing off older or sick people if they couldn't provide, forced marriages with females that today are considered very underage and lots of messed up things. Personally I think there is much more of a focus on empathy in todays society due to schooling as well as literature aimed at getting people to empatize with others.

I think one of the problems here is that when it comes to sexuality and gender and stuff like that science like biology is generally ignored if it doesn't adhere to what is considered ethically right. For instance biology supports the idea of gay people being a thing and not abnormal therefor biology can be brought up in that conversation. As for the multigender stuff (the thousands of gender things) I think most biologist would say is utter bullshit as such it is dissmissed as in these cases emotions are considered far more important than actually figuring out the truth and science and evidence can only be used for what is considered socially acceptable.
As for NTR itself I find it quite odd, spending time and resources on a woman that gets impregnated by another man will cause the man to have a much lower chance spreading genes to the next generations as such the genes from these men should have died out.
