I recently finished Euphoria so I figured I should make a review of it.
As for the general story of Euphoria I feel like talking about anything other than the start could be a potetial spoiler so I will refrain from doing so. Euphoria starts with the main character waking up in a white room with a door. As he walks through the door he finds himself in another white room along with six girls. Of the six girls there are five students who are in the same school as the main character as well as one of his teachers. Once they are all gathered a mechanical voice tells them that to get out they need to unlock five doors, these doors are unlocked after the main character has done a sexual act with one of the girls, with him being free to choose who. One of the girls then refuses to participate, everything becomes black and when they can see again she is locked to an electric chair where she is electricuted to death. Now with the five remaining girls the main character need to complete the game to get out of there alive. So the first part here which I have given a short introduction to works pretty much like a nukige in that it contains a lot of sex scenes and that there are many fetishes involved. There are also some questions raised during this part as well as its importance in character building though all in all I would call this part of the VN a well written nukige. As for the later half, which I don't want to go into due to spoilers, well it contains way less sex scenes while doing a much better job at storytelling with giving you more hints as to what is actually going on. The recommended way to go though Euphoria is to read it in this order, Rika, Natsuki, Rinne, Nemu and Kanae, with Rika as the first route and Kanae as the last route. The reason this is the prefered way to play it is that it gives the best experience in terms of piecing together information from the different routes. As for what I think is best to categorize Euphora as I would say it is a mystery psychological horror visual novel.
Well now that my introduction to Euphoria is over I suppose I can start the actual review of it.
Firstly I want to talk a bit about what I though about each route induvidually.
I guess I should start with Rika, well her route is pretty bad. The first part of her route was to me the worst part of Euphoria. The main character came of as an irredeemable evil person and Rika is just really annoying. This caused me to not really enjoy the sex scenes or any of the other scenes where you interacted with Rika. As for the later half I found it to be much better. I would say this part is pretty decent and the story here is pretty interesting, Rika also becomes much more tolerable and the main character comes of as a much better person than he did in the first part of her route.
The next route is Natsuki (the teacher), I found her early route to be much much better than the early route of Rika. The back and forth between her and the main character was quite interesting and she is a really likable as a character. Due to her being very good at pushing back against the main character he also became a lot more interesting as his internal strugle became quite clear. As for the later half I liked it quite a lot, her later half I would say is a bit like a horror action story.
Next up is Rinne, as for her first half I though it was quite good, her sex scenes really did a good job at showcasing her personality and there were also some really interesting conversations with her during the first part. As for the secound part of her route, well I found it absolutely amazing, it was just such a good twisted physological horror story and it had me at the edge of my seat the entire time. I remember just being in awe at how interesting this route was. I also think this route is the one that did the best job at implemeting sex scenes, it worked really well with the story and with the atmosphere of the route. Due to this route I got completely hooked on Euphoria and marathoned the rest of it.
As for the nemu route, well I think she has the best first part. Her sex scenes were quite extreeme, but you don't feel bad for her at all since it is Nemu. Other than being quite extreeme her first part also raises some questions about her as a character showing that there may be more under her surface than what can be seen. As for the secound part of her route I found it really interesting though not quite as good as the secound half of the Rinne route. The route was really cruel, but also had quite an interesting story.
Then lastly is the Kanae route. Her sex scenes during the early part is okay, not really that good or that bad. Though the early part does a pretty good job at forshadowing some things.
As for the secound half of her route I suppose I should split it into two parts since there are two ways her route can play out.
One is a route that has the main character doing really horrible things and seem to be there mainly for people who really want to see messed up sex scenes. This is a rather short route and doesn't really feel that important.
The other route is the true ending route. This route was to me the best part of Euphoria. This route start of as a complete mindfuck that I just found extreemly interesting. After that the route then start to explain in details what has actually happened and it becomes a really emotional story that had me almost crying at times. The last part of it was just wonderful to experience and it was just such an emotional roller coaster which at the end left me really satisfied. While this route answered most of the things in the story I was still left with some questions about certain things, though I think those are meant to be left as mysteries.

As for my final thoughts, well I absolutely love Euphoria. It started of pretty bad with the Rika route and at that point my expectations were a bit low, though as I played through more routes it really sucked me in. I think it did a really good job at mixing the sex scenes with the story and I liked to play it all in its entirety. Even though it has a lot of sex scenes I would still recommend it even if you have no interest in the sex scenes. The story on its own is extreemly good and is definitely the highlight of the VN. While I said the first part of it can be considered a nukige the same can not be said for Euphoria as a whole, the story part take center stage once the first part of the route is done and the later halfs of each route is just so much better than the first part. Most of the time the sex scenes aren't really important to read and it is enough just to generally know what happend which means they can be skipped. As for which sex scenes I think would be most important to read if you are fine with reading them but want to skip most of them, well I think the sex scenes in the Rinne route as well as early Nemu route is the most important ones to read as these actually feel like they add to the characters and story, though I would still say their routes are very good even without going through these scenes.

Here is the cover of the physical edition
Here is the back of the physical edition
Here is the disc of the physical edition

The other side of the reversible cover

    Limited time bonus BGM collection.

As for my review of the physical edition, well this is a pretty standard hardcopy. There really isn't anything extra other than the BGM collection, which I don't know if still follows with the hardcopy since it is a limited time bonus (I got it when I bought mine in November last year). Since the physical edition is quite standard I would only recommend getting it for people who just want to have a physical edition of their VNs. One thing that I think was quite nice is that the cover doesn't show any nudity, this is nice since it is then less likely for there to be problems in customs when importing it. Also if you want the nudity on the cover you can just turn the cover around and display it that way since it has a reversible cover.

With Date A Live: Rio Reincarnatio being confirmed for an english release I figured I should make a review of it.

Date A Live Rio Reincarnation is actually a collection of two Date A Live VNs that released on PS3 as well as a new story that I think can kind of be seen as a fandisc. The two PS3 VNs are Date A Live: Rinne Utopia and Date A Live: Arusu Install while the extra story is just called Date A Live Rio Reincarnation. For this review I will focus on each individual part on its own.

A quick summary of Date A Live Rinne Utopia
Date A Live Rinne Utopia takes place sometime after the first season on the anime and includes the characters introduced in the first season. Other than this there is also a new character Rinne a mysterious girl who seem to be Shido's neighboor as well as his childhood friend (they were never reunited, she was always there). Other than this there are some other odd things going on, for instance there is a huge tower in the middle of the city that only Shido finds odd and he has these dreams of a spirit appearing before him. During the common route there are of course also date events where you can choose between Kotori, Origami, Kurumi, Touka and Yoshino. After some of these date events you get into their routes and get an ending with them. After having gone through all the different endings you then unlock Rinne's route where I would say the meat of the story can be found.

For my opinion of it I would first like to say that I think this is a really good Date A Live VN. It takes full advantage of the setting of Date A Live and I think it does an excelent job both telling a large impactfull story while also giving lots of nice moments with each of the different heroines and pretty satisfying endings with each of the heroines. For the heroine routes there is always something going on whether there is an internal conflict for one of the girls or it is something else going on, because of this it felt like each of the routes managed to carry themselves as their own story and also make the romance between the heroine and Shido feel satisfying. For the overarching plot I think they do a good job building it up throughout the VN during the different routes and I think the story it tells is something that works perfectly within the setting of a VN. Rinne's route at the end then works as a great climax for the story with lots of epic as well as emotional moments.

A quick summary of Date A Live Arusu Install
Date A Live Arusu Install takes place sometime after the second season on the anime and as such also includes Miku and the Yamai twins. The main setup of the story in Arusu Install is that Ratatoskr has made a new dating sim for Shido to practise on which is a fulldive experience that has a recreation of the city they live in as well as the people living there. There Shido is supposed to go on dates with AI's with the same personality and looks as the spirits. However early in the game he meets an odd girl called Arusu, that he has never seen before and shouldn't exist in the game, she ask him what love is as she is curious about it and don't understand it. As this happens Kotori who has been talking to Shido when he was in the game loses contact with him and the people on the outside are unable to get him out of there, meaning he is stuck within the game. This then makes all of the girls hook themselves up to the machine to enter the game so that they can save Shido. This means that they are all stuck in a replica of their city going to the same school and living in the same house. So this means that it is essentially as if they were in the real world other than the fact that side characters are npc, they are forced into roles that fit a dating sim and there is Arusu using her powers to make special date events that happens in the dream of Shido and the heroine that puts them in special suituations with the aim being for them to get closer so she can learn what love is.

As for my review of Date A Live Arusu Install I guess I should start with the begining. I think that the way they use the setting of Date A Live to set up the story is really cool. Referencing my little Shido with the fulldive machine is really fun and I think it is a really smart way of getting the characters into suituations they otherwise wouldn't be. Other than this it also sets up a nice overarching mystery with Arusu and them being stuck in the game. Also because of the game's setting there are lots of things that are able to happen that wouldn't otherwise make sense and this is used to make lots of different scenarios with the girls. This I would say works well as fanservice for the girls not necessarily sexual fanservice, but more so seeing them in lots of different suituation like magical girl Kotori or shrine maid Origami which also provides some nice interesting artwork. A problem with this though is that these scenarios don't really do any job with building a good emotional story for the girls or get you connected to them, it just feels like pure fanservice with no substance. This made the routes for the individual heroines seem quite hollow, something that really hurt my enjoyment as this is the majority of the VN. The true route I feel does a good job on the emotional side and just in general having a pretty good and satisfactory story. So overall I would say that the setup and the true route are really good, but that it suffers from the other routes feeling empty only offering hollow fanservice that mainly just show different suitations with the characters in what seem like what if scenarios, though they do have good art and I would say some are quite enjoyable (magical girl Kotori is one that comes to mind).

Date A Live Rio Reincarnation works pretty much like a fandisc for both of the previous VNs. I don't think I can really go much into it without spoiling things from the other VNs, but what I can say is that they meet a small girl named Rio who looks for the most important thing (she doesn't know what it is just that she is looking for it). As for the content of Rio Reincarnation it features a few nice scenes with the heroines as well as give a bit more of a proper ending for each of the VNs. I very much liked this addition as I really liked the different endings in it as well as the story it told in general being interesting.

Just some quick remarks about the visuals, the visuals are really nice looking, which is to be expected as the artist is Tsunako, the artist behind the Neptunia series and Fairy Fencer F as well as being the illustrator for the original Date A Live light novel. However I found some rather annoying problems with the PS4 CGs. While most of them were as they should be, some of the CG variations had parts of the art that had been missplaced by a pixel or two or there being a difference in colour between two parts of the CG put together. Under are two examples with some red circles added just to show the area you need to look at. While these aren't really that noticeable I found it annoying as I like to screenshot all of the different CGs and have them on my PC to look at later and I don't want them to have these kinds of flaws.

I will not give a general description of the story as I would assume that anyone picking this up has watched the anime.

The first part of the VN just retells events from the anime and also often just uses art directly from the anime. This part tells the story from episode 1 to the end of episode 10. As it covers 10 episodes of the anime this part is quite large, especially since lots of things shown visually are instead just told through text and there is a bit of internal monologue that that doesn't really do anything other than make the reading experience longer. I also noticed that it cut out events where Tsukasa the main character is absent, because of this some important Isla moments are lost which I think hurt the story. As an adaption I think it does a rather poor job, not managing to be anywhere near as emotional as the anime in most scenes and for some of the very emotional scenes it just takes a clip from the anime. Because of this I would recommend anyone who wants to read this VN to skip this first part, if you want to refresh your memories of the story before the later part I think you should just watch the 10 episodes of the anime then skip through until you hit the point where you can choose daily events.

Once the anime adaption part is over you get to an event system where you choose between different events where an event will unlock other events. There are 65 events in the VN as well as 4 dlc events, one being from buying an early copy of the game while I think the others comes as a bonus if you buy it through amazon. As for my thoughts on the events themselves they are a bit mixed. Many of the events felt a bit boring, which mainly had to do with Tsukasa not really being that interesting of a main character, kind of just being a kind hearted optimistic character with no other traits that really matters, as for Isla I think the lack of animation kind of hurts her as the anime uses animation a lot to show her personality which means that she comes of as less interesting and fun than in the anime. The other cast is pretty good and events with them I generally found to be a better. So I am mixed on these events as I found a decent amount of them to be rather boring while others worked quite well. Among these events there are also a few story ones which I think does a good job at exploring a bit more about Isla and more about the Giftia, though there are only a few events that does this and they are rather short.

As for endings there are 4 endings where you choose not to confess to Isla (the confession scene is put before the event part of the VN so this choice happens before the daily events and the daily events are not part of these endings). These 4 endings focus on 4 different coworkers and are not romance focused but rather just gives some scenes with them and expand on their personality and past. While I think these does a decent job at this they are all rather short and as such feel kind of lacking. There are also 3 endings where you choose to get together with Isla. One of them is the normal ending which just follows the events of the anime from episode 12 until the end of episode 13. The others are a good ending and a bad ending. The good and bad ending are also rather short. While I think this would be okay though not preferable with the bad ending I think it is quite a shame with regards to the good ending. I expected the good ending to have a decent length and try for a bit more of a major story, but it felt rather rushed and I think it should have had lots of larger events especially since some of the events build up towards it.

So for my final thoughts. I think this VN is only for people who really like Plastic Memories and feel like they want to know more about the different characters and have an alternate (though kind of lackluster) ending. The first part of the VN should just be skipped and the anime should be used to catch up on the story if you need a refresh of the events. The events range from a bit boring a quite good though they never really impressed me. The different endings were quite decent though a major problem with them is that they are quite short which makes them lack the impact I think they should have. So while I found the VN to have some good parts I think they are a bit too short and the parts that are just kind of decent enough makes it not really enyoable enough for me to really recommend it to most people.

Visual novel spinn-offs of anime video
I have decided to stop with these reviews where I do a short review and show the physical edition, but I have recently made a video where I talk about visual novels that are spinn-offs of anime so for anyone that liked getting more info on those titles you can check that out.

So far I have only made 2 parts but this will be a 4 part series where I will go through every VN based on anime I have read. I plan to release one part each week.

First of I want to mention that the Saekano anime is one of my favorite anime of all times and as such I was quite looking forward to reading a VN based on it, though some months before I decided to read it I looked at reviews on Amazon and it didn't look too good. After having read through all of it I was really dissapointed. The Saekano VN is by far the most bland and non memorable VN I have read so far. The VN base itself of the aspects of Saekano that on the surface level is the least interesting, with conversations between the characters at school (at the non official clubroom they have) and a few other locations like the main characters room, and is sett sometime after season 1. In the anime these scenes work well due to the good cleaver dialoge which gives a lot of insight into the characters while delivering good comedy as well as the great scene direction of the anime, in the VN the dialoge is just really boring and there is very little visual variation. I think the core problem of this VN can be boiled down to the writer of the VN trying to imitate one aspect of Saekano while mostly ignoring the others and having surface level of understanding of the characters. This is also more of a problem as the core consept for Saekano isn't too interesting, but rather the execution of it with regards to character writing and drama is what makes it good. The character development and romantic development in the VN is also really poor with both of those being pretty much non existant. It just lacks any and all ambition which is really annoying as I feel focusing more on things like dates or romantic progression of the characters could work even if the writing wasn't the best, here it is just a boring consept with bad execution. The routes are also somewhat hard to navigate and some times there are just odd conditions to enter a character route, like on top of having done events with Eriri you also need to do one event with Megumi to get into Eriri's route. There are also dialoge battle things where you choose 1 of 3 options 1 giving more strength to each heroine's argument and one that is neutral, the thing though is that having the back of the heroine you choose to do the route for is not the correct way to do it which makes the vs thing pretty dumb. The CGs are decent looking though nothing special. The annyoing thing about the CGs though is how poorly they are used. From how the CGs were integrated into the VN I would say they were probably made at random with no communication between writer and artist and then the writer just quickly made a quick half assed scenario to justify using the CG. A lot of the scenes with CGs are just so quick and lacks any sort of reason to be there. One example is a halloween party event, basically Eriri's parents are having a halloween party and all of blessing software are invited, the part starts Eriri is embaresed over a witch costume she wears, they talk like 20 lines then they decide to leave and the event is over, which left me wondering what was going on as the event basically ended after a few lines of dialoge with no real comedy or any progression or anything that seemed worthwhile. The other CG events were not much better than this, some being worse, but this one stuck out to me as it was the first event like this. So in conclusion the Saekano VN is really boring and poorly made with lots of odd decisions which doesn't seem to make sense.

Then there is Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai. Happy End for PS3, which is the first VN I have ever dropped. Oreimo happy end is a oreimo VN with an idol gimick where the girl who you choose aims to become an idol with Kyoske, who you play as being the manager. My main problems with this VN is that there are too many tedious elements in it. One thing is the photo shoot events where you need to take a bunch of photos of the girl, about 20 each event with there being in total 37 events for Kuroneko alone and then you have to pick which ones of the pictures you want to keep afterwards to boost her popularity. Then there are events where you talk to the girl either offline or online called SNS where Kyoske is not voice acted and the girl either has no voice acting or only has one word voice acted each line of dialoge. This of ofcourse is built on a system where you keep track of stats levels etc. The VN also suffers from having lots of long loading screens all over the place slowing down the progression quite considerably. Another apspect of the VN are some scenes here and there with full voice acting, which generally are before the photo events, these are actually quite good and the voice acting is stellar, but unfortually this makes up too little of the VN to really make up for all the other problems. I completed one ending for one heroine, that one being Kuroneko. After this I found that I lacked most of her event CGs and I would have to replay her route multiple times to get the rest of them. I didn't manage to find a guide, but looking for one I found that to get the true ending I needed to get her to level 60. The system is built so that once you get an ending you can continue with your levels from the start (also only 1 save file each heroine), and at the end I got to level 18 which means at best I would have to in total do the route 3 times, but probably more to get all endings. In these new playthroughs I would also have to deal with the loading screens, the photo scenes and all of the other annoying aspects of it. Realizing how much of a pain in the ass completing the VN would be I ended up just dropping it. It is quite sad since I think there are some decent scenes there with really good voice acting, but when this is all bogged down by so many other elements of it really being bad and them by their very nature slowing down any replay of a route really considerably, with multiple playthrous being required to reach the true ending, it just isn't worth all the stress and boredom for a few decent scenes.

I am sorry that all this boils down to is complaints about these VNs, but I truly feel that both of them are really bad, and while some of the VNs I read earlier based on anime were good the ones I have recently read has turned into being really dissapointing. From now on I am pretty sure I am done with picking up VNs based on anime unless I hear a lot of good things about it, as my recent experience has just been really bad.

    Premise
The general premise is that the main character Yuuma is invited by his senpai Ayano to join the ghost club which isn’t a club about actual ghosts but rather a club for people with regrets. He then gets pushed onto him the responsibility of being the leader of the club and to find enough members to legitimize the club with the criteria Ayano sets for joining the club being that they have to be a cute girl and need some kind of regret. He then invites Akutagawa his close male friend because they somehow need to fill the spot despite protests from Ayano and the rest of the members that they invite are Hikari an adorable Kohai and Inori a mysterious girl who always wears a scarf who have studying abroad and recently gotten back to Japan.

    Review
The common route does a good job of introducing the characters and also does a great job with its comedy and setting up things for the heroine routes. Due to good chemistry between the characters which leads to some really well done comedy in my opinion I think this is the best part of Hanasaki work springs. The common route is also rather long so you will get to know the characters quite well before the routes start.

Characters as well as my thoughts on their routes

Hikari is the adorable blond kohai. She has a really good mixture of sweetness, nervousness, bravery and clumsiness which made me really enjoy her especially during her route. There are lots of really good dating scenes with her during her route and I think anyone who likes adorable heroines will love her. The main focus for her route as well as most others is more so slice of life couple scenes seeing their first few dates etc. and just following how their relationship develops. As for the story aspect of her route I think the concept is quite good and fits well with certain quirks she has, however I think it builds it up as if the thing is going to be much more serious than it actually is (you don't know what it is until pretty much the end of her route but there is clearly something bothering her). Because of this I think the later part of her route has a bit too much of a heavy mood compared to the actual events as well as considering what I think would be best for her route, though considering this is only a small part of her route I would still say I really enjoyed it.

Ayano is the purple haired senpai. She is the one who invites the main character to her club then dumps all the responsibility on him. She is rather lazy, irresponsible and quite flirty towards the main character. While she is a 3rd year she has been repeating the 3rd year of high school for quite a lot of years (she is probably in her early to mid 20s), she is actually quite smart and scores good on tests and did so before she started repeating as well but she pretty much refuses to graduate. Her route is the one that in my opinion has the best story, using mystery elements and building the story throughout her route quite well. As for the character herself I think she is somewhat charming and I think lots of people will like her a lot though to me I didn’t really feel as much of a connection to her as I felt for the other main heroines. I think this to some degree comes from the amount of romantic scenes between the characters being less due to there being more of a focus on the story, but also just personal taste.

Inori is a mysterious girl who wears a scarf. She has been studying abroad because her parents moved overseas and has recently returned to Japan. She is quite a loner and keep her distance from most people including the main character who she considers annoying. Of course as the heroine route progresses she opens more up to the main character. As for her character I am mostly positive to her as I think once she opens up more she is really adorable and has a lot of likeable qualities, though there are some elements of her personality that I find rather annoying and while I think her backstory does a decent job covering these parts of her personality I think that this part of her personality just goes too far in some instances which reduced my enjoyment during some of the more key parts of her route. Regarding the story aspect of her route. I like her backstory though there are other elements that I don’t really like that much. So in conclusion I think her route was overall good, though there were elements of her route and parts of her personality that I felt prevented it from being great.

Wakaba is the red haired girl and she is really close friend to the main character. She very rich, outspoken and her personality is quite tomboyish with her relationship to the main character before her route being that they are just really close friends who do things like going to the arcade together and just generally hang out together, almost always accompanied by Akutagawa and Kanna. As for her route I think the main segment which is the relationship building and them dating is done wonderfully and I really liked their relationship (at times she is absolutly adorable), however I think some dramatic parts towards the end was just stupid.

Nonoka is the non-related by blood little sister of the main character. She does all the housework and cooking and while she is his little sister kind of takes on the same role a mom normally should, worrying about his problems and taking care of him and hoping that he gets a girlfriend soon. As a support character I think she does a wonderfull role with both funny interactions with her brother as well as the other girls in their routes. She does also have a short route which unlocks after the other routes. In my opinion this was rather lackluster and they didn’t really do a great job with her route considering how good of a character she had been in the rest of the VN.

Kanna is the maid of Wakaba. In the common route as well as in Wakaba’s route she does a good job of playing a support character providing comedy and giving advice to Wakaba. In her own short route which also unlocks after the main routes are done I think she also just like Nonoka has a rather lackluster route. While there are some good elements like her backstory I think these are brief enough that they instead could have just been covered in Wakaba’s route and that doing this and cutting out Kanna’s route really wouldn’t hurt the VN.

Akutagawa is not a heroine and has no route dedicated to him but is just the main characters best friend and I think he is worth mentioning. He is a rather cool character and plays a good support role often either being a comedic character or being someone the main character can ask for advice. His preference for women is older woman in their 40s or 50s which I am pretty sure is to make people feel like he isn’t a potential romantic rival to the main character.

My overall thought on the VN is that I really like it. The common route is really good does a great job of introducing the characters and has a lot of great comedy because of the great characters in the VN. The main heroine routes have for the most part really good building of romance and a lot of really adorable scenes between the main character and the girl of the route though unfortunately the drama/story aspect generally doesn’t work that well. The sub-heroine routes are rather lackluster and honestly aren’t in my opinion nearly as good as the main heroine routes. Overall if you know Japanese I would recommend this to anyone who likes fun likeable cute girls in VNs and just want to see some good cute romance scenes with them, but if you are looking for deeper backstories and to be able to connect to them through sad backstories or deep complex character building this is probably not for you.

I figured that it is a bit of a waste to write full reviews of VNs where there are a lot of reviews already by people who are better at writing them than I am, because of this I will now only write a short opinion about a VN I have finished and show the physical edition for titles that has lots of reviews. For VNs where there seem to be a lack of reviews, such as many japanese titles that has never been translated I plan to do longer reviews as well as of course show the pictures of the physical edition.

The main thing Grisaia complete box comes with is the Grisaia trilogy and Idol Magical Girl Chiru Chiru so I will focus on those.

The first part of Grisaia is the fruit of Grisaia, this in built up by a common route which focuses on building up the characters and has lots of comedic scenes and then a route for each of the heroines which goes into their backstories and build their relationship with the main character. Fruit of Grisaia is in my opinion the best part of the series, it features a lot of great comedy a fantastic cast of characters and a lot of really good stories and is the only VN I have so far given a 10/10.

Labyrinth of Grisaia is split into multiple parts with the main part focusing on the backstory of the main character then there are afterstories for each of the girls routes in Fruit of Grisaia as well as what if sex scenarios and sidestories (random comedic scenes that are non cannonical). The main story is really good, though in my opinion not quite as good as most parts of fruit of Grisaia. The afterstories were really nice as it allowed you to see the relationship with the girls after everything that happened in their route is dealt with and just added something I felt the first VN lacked. The what if sex scenarios and the side stories were generally quite good though not as good as the other parts, I don't feel like they subtracted anything from my opinion of the VN though and instead just made me like it more as it was just some nice additional fanservice.

Eden of Grisaia which is the last of the trilogy. The main story here is the harem route which deals with events from the main characters past catching up with him then there is the prologue which tells some events before the start of Fruit of Grisaia and there are also more what if scenarios sex scenes. The main story is a very action packed story with lots of good comedic moments and I think the characters generally shine, while I think it is really good it isn't quite as good as Fruit of Grisaia or Labyrinth of Grisaia in my opinion because of things such as elements of how the story got to this point doesn't make much sence (combining things from routes that wouldn't really be compatible), some retcons and a rather stupid plot twitst close to the end. As for the prologue it is a nice prequal that shows the different girls slightly before they meet the main character.

Idol Magical Girl Chiru Chiru is a spin-off where one of the main girls (Michiru) becomes a magical girl. All of the character have some of their main traits though they are kind of just shoved into different roles. The consept of Michiru becoming a magical girl is really funny and they manage to do fairly well with the comedy, though overall considering the cast of Grisaia it felt rather underwhelming and I think they could have made it a lot more funny and used the cast better.

    Grisaia trilogy cartridge

As for the Switch release I haven't read through it all to see whether there are any issues, though I did skip through everything to unlock scenes and CGs and while skipping I didn't notice any problems. Also the visuals looked great and from a few random scenes I went through I didn't find any problems with the sound. So unless there are any glearing problems that won't be noticed by skipping it is likely the best non 18+ release of Grisaia. There is also a rewind button which is just a reverse skip button which I think is really cool and is something I think other VNs should include as well.

I want to start doing reviews of VNs that I have physicals of where I both review the VN itself and show of the physical edition. I figured I would start with the most recent one I have completed which is Starless.
First I guess I should mention what kind of VN Starless is. Starless is a hardcore fetish nukige, so if that doesn't sound interesting to you it probably isn't something you are going to like.
I guess I should first start of with the general plot, though I will avoid spoilers.
In the VN you play as Sawatari a young man who is looking for a summer job. After finding a sketchy looking adverticement he ends up applying for a two week long job as a servant in a mansion belonging to a rich family consisting of a mother her two daugthers and one son. During the interview Sawatari finds out that the job is more like that of a sex slave rather than that of a normal servant, though due to the high wage and not wanting to back down after all the things they had done to him during the interview he decides to stay. The next day a woman named Mitarai who is in desperate need of money also applies for the job and reluctantly accepts it due to her suituation. After this you follow Sawatari's daily life as a servants of the family for two weeks. During these two weeks you and the other servants of the mansion act out the messed up desire of the family as you try to keep your sanity. Throughout your stay you learn pieces of information about all the shady and messed up things that the family is doing behind the scenes and ultimately your aim is to get yourself and Mitarai out of the mansion alive and with your sanity intact.

    Some things that I liked
The art of this VN is really good, I suppose rather than me telling you about it you can look at the pictures bellow or you can look at the screenshots at vndb.
As for the music I liked it quite a lot. I found it to always work with the mood of the scene.
The main character is actually able to think and I found his inner monologue to be interesting.
I really liked how they built up the different mysteries in the mansion, it was quite fun not really knowing what secrets were hidden in the basement and the shady things the family did behind the scenes.
The characters were well writen, their distinctive personality really showed.
After the first few days they start having sexual lectures and I found it interesting not knowing what type of lecture the next day would bring. I felt that this was quite good for building up anticipation for what would happen next and keep you playing.
The VN has a rediculous amount of sexual content since it is a long nukige, I would estimate that the VN is about 40 hours long and most of it is just sex scenes.
The genitalia is really well drawn.
It covers pretty much every fetish you can think of, excluding fetishes found only in fantasy VNs, you know like monsters.

Some things that I didn't like
While the music is good there are few tracks compared to the length of the VN, this makes it feel somewhat repetative.
During one part of the VN there are a lot of scat scenes, the high amount of scat scenes was something I really didn't like that much.
Towards the end of the common route and during most of the endings I found the content to be too extreeme for my liking. During the last parts of the VN I honestly just wanted to get it over with. This is of course based on taste, but if you don't feel up for a lot of really messed up things I would advice avoiding the title.
Too many bad endings in my opinion.
I really hated the secound daugther of the family, though since the family are the villains of this VN I can't really call that a bad thing. Also while I despiced her I do remember being at the edge of my seat everytime she was involved with something just waiting for her to do something horrible. Guess this is more of a neutral point.
Some of the content is censored due to legal reasons, things like scat and beastiality. This can be restored easily by using an unofficial patch, which to my knowledge is pretty much actually an official patch that they had someone else publish to avoid legal problems. While it is easy to fix I think it is somewhat annoying not to have all of the VN on the disc.

    In conclusion
This is a high quality long nukige with good writing, art and music, but it is not for everyone. This title is only for those who really want a completely messed up nukige with a ton of fetishes ranging from slightly messed up to absolutely horrifyingly messed up. Personally I really enjoyed the first part, but as I got towards the end of it I found it to be way too extreeme for my liking. As for whether or not I would like to pick up any other VNs from Empress after this my answer is no, the reason being that I hated the later part of it. While I wouldn't pick up another similar title I am glad to have experienced this title since it was quite a unique experience that I haven't really had before.

    Translation
As for the translation I found the translation itself to be really good, the lines had a good flow and captured the different characters personality quite well.
However one thing I found annoying about the translation was that there were a lot of typos.
It seemed to me like the one translating did a really good job, but that they then just didn't do proper quality control afterwards.

    Pictures of the limited edition
In advance I would like to appologize about the pictures bellow not being that good, I am not really good at taking pictures and my iphone's camera isn't the best either.

Outside of the limited edition box

The inside of the limited edition box. The artbook is to the left and the DVD case for the game is to the right.
The game itself as well as a user manual and a card with a code for starless that can be used through Jast USA. Of course the DVD works for the game so the code is just an extra.
Here are some samples from the artbook
As for my review of the limited edition I would say that it is really worth it, the box looks really good and the artbook is really nice to take a look in. If you think of picking up the title I would really recommend going for the limited edition. When I wrote this post the limited edition was available, but it has now been sold out and been replaced by a regular edition.

I have now played through all of the 18+ version of Princess Evangile and figured I would make a review of it.
As for an introduction to Princess Evangile I think the description on vndb does a good job at this so I will just use that rather than try to explain it myself.
Burdened by the incredible debt his father left behind, Okonogi Masaya is now destitute and alone. However, through a strange collection of events, he finds himself living at the prestigious Vincennes Academy, an all-girls charm school! His purpose is to mingle amongst the Filles De La Vincennes ("Maidens of Vincennes") as the single male "sample" to promote gender integration. How will these young, innocent, and otherwise pure maidens react to his presence?!

Princess Evangile consist of a common route and 4 heroine routes. The common route is 16 chapters long while the heroine routes are 10 chapters long. The four heroines are Rise, Ritsuko, Ayaka and Chiho, who can all be seen on the back of the game case.

The common route is really nice in my opinion. It does a good job introducing the different characters and there are a lot of great moments that I can look back at. The common route also has a really nice ballance of comedy and drama something that made it really enjoyable to read. I would say this part of Princess Evangile is where the comedy shines the strongest.

The Rise route was my favorite of all the routes. Rise is just such a lovable character. She is very strong willed, but she is also just so god damn adorable, some scenes in particular with her just had me grinning from ear to ear. As for the sex scenes well they were really nice and sweet, seeing Rise embaresed was just so fun. As for the drama during this route well I really liked it, you get to learn a lot more about Rise and why she is trying to reform the school and there are some great emotional moments wrapped around a rather sad story.

Ritsuko is quite lovely. She is a very sweet and timid girl and the earlier parts of her route really showcase her appeal. She can also be somewhat silly and easily gets jelous which drove a lot of the comedy in her route. Though her route had some comedy I felt like it from time to time got a bit boring. I guess it is a bit the way she talks as well as sometimes not having that much interesting to say. So while I quite enjoyed her and her early route I would say that it can get boring from time to time. As for the later part of her route, well I felt it was okay though kind of lacking compared to the later part of the other girls routes. One problem was that there was a cliche that it was building up to that could be seen a mile away, well atleast I think they executed it pretty well though so it is not really that bad.

Akaya's route I found to be pretty good. The early part of her route focused quite a bit on comedy but also built up some tension for later in her route. The middle part of her route was more emotional and drama driven than what believed her route would be based on how she acted during the common route. While I found this part to be enjoyable I did kind of wanted to have more comedic moments with her since she was pretty good at driving some of the comedy during the common route and other character routes. As for her sex scenes well they were pretty good, though they didn't really stand out. As for the later part of her route there are a lot of twist and turns that really made it an interesting read. I found the story told to be quite interesting and it definitely kept my attention.

As for Chiho's route I liked it a lot though I think it had some flaws. The first part of it had some great comedy which mostly included her and Rise though the other characters had some nice comments as well. The middle of her route focused more on Chiho herself and had some nice moments. The buildup to them having sex for the first time was rather awkward and funny something I really liked. As for the later part well the main thing that happened was quite similar to something that happened in the common route, though I still felt like it was quite fresh due to some different elements that spiced it up. To sum up what I though of her route, it was quite good in regard to comedy though it felt somewhat lacking in regard to Chiho herself. Chiho was not really as present in the early and late parts of her route as the other girls, this made it feel kind of hard to grow attatched to her.

As for my thoughs on the work as a whole, well I really liked it. The music and visuals worked really well with what was going on and I think that it helped create a good atmosphere which probably contributed in me playing it for many hours at a time. Almost all of the time I played I was invested in what was going on and I found myself smiling almost the entire time when I played it. As for the characters in Princess Evangile I found almost all of them to be really fun and just loved seeing them interact with one another. As for some negatives, one problem I have is that Ruriko didn't have a route, based on the story it really seems like she should have a route and I think she is the only one among the characters who rival Rise in how much I like her. Another thing is that while I found the sex scenes to be quite cute and atmospheric they were generally quite long and could sometime become quite boring after a while. I guess I shouldn't end this with the negatives so I will end this by saying that I recommend this to anyone that want to play through a light hearted visual novel with a bit of drama to spice things up.

As for the limited edition I think it is really worth it, I find the limited edition cover to be really nice and I also like the case for the VN itself as well as the sound track. There is also the artbook which is really nice and has lots of nice illustrations as well as some information about the girls and the school. Lastly the limited edition also contains a steam code, the steam edition is the all ages version which contains some scenes right before and after sex that aren't in the original, the replacement scenes are really short and there are only 1 to 2 each route though so other than the few cgs I don't think it adds much. Still I find it really nice that they added that as a bonus. When I wrote this review the limited edition had a few remaining copies left, but it has now been sold out.

If it is not clear by the title or by the pictures under Imouto Paradise is a nukige about an older brother and his five little sisters. If this doesn't sound like anything you want to read it probably isn't going to be something you enjoy.

Before the review I would like to mention that it has been about one and a half year since I read all of the routes of Imopara so I have probably forgotten some details. To make sure that my general feeling towards Imopara was right I did reread different parts of it though so I don't think anything I will write here would contradict with what I would have written if I had read it more recently.

First a quick summary of Imopara. Imopara is about a perverted older brother and his 5 little sisters Aya, Michika, Rio and the twins Hiyori and Koharu. Summer vacation just started and their parents are on an overseas trip due to work. This leaves the siblings alone and opens up the chances for them to express their feelings for each other. As for how it plays out there is first an introduction and then you get an option to spend time with one of the sisters. Spending time means a sexual scenes will happen and as you continue picking the same sister you end up with actual sex scenes and enter her route. You can also chose to just relax and stay at your room, after doing this for all the choices the little sisters become worried and it leads to the harem route.

Here is a bit about each of the little sisters

Aya is the little sister who takes charge of most things in the house like cooking and laundry and pretty much acts like their mother while their parents are away. Her route is pretty much the only one that actually focuses on the fact that what they are doing is incest and she is the only one to be a bit bothered by it. As for her sex scenes I think the vibe they go with is pretty similar to a wife wanting to make her husband happy.
Michika is pretty quiet doesn't show a lot of emotions and generally spends her time reading books. She is also open about being a sadist who want her brother to be her masochism dog and often recommend him books about masochism. While she is a sadist most of her scenes don't really go that far with it, it is mostly about how she is in control during the sex scenes and how she talks down to him and try to excite him with dirty talk. One thing I also want  to mention is that I found her voice during the sex scenes to be really good and quite a turn on.
Rio is a pretty obvious tsundere who is also a closet pervert. Her being a tsundere and her brother being a pervert causes lots of comedic moments. Generally he says something perverted and she gets mad and if he continues she use one of her ultimate moves which is either elbowing or kneeing him. As for her sex scenes they mostly revolve around different non penetrative acts such as hairjob, elbowjob, footjob, etc. though she does also have some actual penetrative sex scenes as well.
Hiyori is the loli sister, she is small cute childish and doesn't really know anything about sex. The first scenes focus on the main character teaching her different things about sex and having her do sexual things in front of him and to him. Most of her sex scenes focuses on embarising suituations and I think she and her twin Koharu are the ones who does the most risky stuff (doing sexual stuff in public or at home when there is a risk of other sisters finding out).
Koharu is a tomboy who excels at everything related to physical activity has endless stamina and a bottomless stomach. She is also an open pervert who kind of has a rivalry with her brother of who can be most of a perv. During the sex scenes she is very direct and uses a lot of dirty talk to turn her brother on. While she does have lots of risky scenes they feel quite different from Hiyori's risky scenes since she really isn't embarrassed and isn't nearly as worried about being found out.

Now for the actual review. I think Imouto Paradise does an excelent job at what it sets out to be. Since they are siblings they generally don't hold back when talking to each other which causes some great comedic moments. Due to their differents personalities there are so many fun scenes and I would say the general comedy is just great. As for the sex scenes I would say that they work really nice, each of the distinct personality work really well within the sex scenes and the main character being a pervert also helps since he can do things like tease them or have funny perverted thoughts while having sex causing the scenes to not become boring (at least in my opinion). One thing that seem to be quite prevelent in all of the routes regarding the sex scenes though is having sex in risky places, while I mentioned that the twins has most of this, the other sisters also have a substantial amount of it. So in general I would say sex in places where others could find out is probably the main fetish of Imopara. Also each route feels distinct due to how different the dynamic is between the brother and the little sister as well as how they each route focus on different sexual things. As for the story don't expect much, mainly the routes has some small internal conflict for the little sister to deal with but it keeps itself light hearted since the aim of it is to be a good upbeat nukige with lots of fun character moments rather than tell a complex story. As for the art I would say it is pretty good though it is a bit stiff in my opinion, also for some reason the eyes look a bit grainy. As for genetalia artwork, well it is pretty bad and range from meh to just horrible. Each route feature one sex scene where it is animated after penetration, the animated part is kind of grainy and it is annoying that it isn't possible to turn of while reading it or in the CG gallery. As for the music I found it to be good and pleasing to listen to and just work well with the mood of the VN.

Here is the front of the hardcopy
    The back of the hardcopy
    The inside including the disc
The reversible cover (think it works best on the inside)
The physical copy is pretty standard and has nothing special, it is just a normal dvd case with a reversible cover. As for importing it well it does feature sexual artwork though it doesn't show the loli twins in any sexual position so that should potentially help against problems with importation related to anti loli laws.

I have now decided that rather than having this blog be limited to only english physical releases I have, I will cover all the physical releases I have including the Japanese ones. Because of this I will add a review I made a bit over a month ago to the blog.

New Game! The Challenge Stage! is a VN based on the manga/anime New Game and I think having gone through either of them should be essential before reading this VN, because of this I will just assume that the people reading this is already familiar with the manga or anime.
Under here is the basics of how it is set up.
The common route of the VN covers roughly the two last months of development of fairies story 3. This is some point after Nene has joined as a debugger by the way so the status quo is already established. Since it takes place during this time there are some events in the VN that are the same as those that happen in the anime though most of the scenes are VN original. There is also an extra added story element which is that Aoba has been given the job of working as the art director of a DLC afterstory for Sophia (the first character she made), which seems to involve her getting resurrected. In this part of the VN there are mostly short scenes that happen as you progress through the days with it being more story heavy towards the end of the common route when they release fairies story 3. After this there are eight different character routes following each of the different important characters in New Game, excluding those introduced in the 2nd season of the anime. These routes take place during a company vacation that last 3 days and take place either at Hokkaido or Okinawa with 4 character routes each place. The one in Hokkaido is a bit based on the OVA where they go to Hokkaido though I don't think the Okinawa one is based on any existing material, but I have only watched the anime so I am not certain it isn't in the manga.

Now with the general structure of the VN out of the way I guess I can start with what I thought of New Game! The Challenge Stage!
To start with I would have to say that I quite enjoyed New Game! The Challenge Stage! with the reason being that it does a good job at handling the different characters of New Game which is an anime I love. The common route of the VN is what I found to be the least impressive, in this part there is a gameplay element of choosing who to work with to get stats in their part of the game development which is then used to complete the DLC story and also start events with the different characters as well as determining the route you end up in. While the system isn't too bad the first time you play through it, it gets rather annoying when doing all the routes since you have to go through it 8 times and all it does is slow you down. The scenes during the common route are rather short but the interactions between the characters are rather nice and does a good job at capturing the same charm as the anime. Other than choosing who to work with there is also the weekend where you can choose between 4 of the characters on saturday and the remaining 4 on sunday and have events with them. As for the later part of the common route, well that is rather heavily based on the later part of the first season of the anime since it covers the release of fairies story 3, it does a decent job mixing the suituations with a few choices to keep it from not feeling completely the same.

The character routes were in my opinion rather good. All of the different routes has a completely different story and all manages to do a good job at handling the characters and making interesting interactions between them. As for the stories themselves none of them are really that deep, instead just telling smaller stories. Some of them focused mainly on comedy and some of them focused a bit more on something a character was worrying about though all of them fit right in with things I would expect from New Game like keeping itself energetic and fun. As for the end of each route I would advice anyone who wants to read it to not expect much, the routes end with the vacation ending and either a short nice scene between the characters or with them being back to working again. There is also an extra ending at the end which is based on the stats you got during the common route where I think you need 225+ or 230+ with different stats to get the different endings. These extra endings are rather short and pretty much just tells what Aoba end up doing after some time, things like for some reason becoming a programmer or game director, I personally just treat these as some nice what if scenarios with nice artwork attached.

In conclusion New Game! The Challenge Stage! is a good New Game VN that manages to capture the characters and the feels showed in the anime. The common route has some rather annoying gameplay mechanics that seems unnecessary and otherwise have short but still fun scenes between the characters when they are working. The character routes are all smaller stories without much impact but does a good job at being entertaining which I think is what their aim should be.

The disc as well as a DLC code for bunny costume, don't remember if it was pre-order bonus or first print bonus.

Not much to say about the physical edition itself as it is just a standard PS4 case. The only thing to really comment is that I think the cover looks quite good.

Imouto Paradise 2 (Imopara 2) is a nukige about an older brother and his five sisters, if this doesn't sound interesting to you it probably won't be something you will enjoy.

Imopara 2 is kind of a sequal to Imopara, all of the characters in Imopara 2 are children from the characters of Imopara with each of the sisters having given birth to a girl and one of them having given birth to a boy. Reading the original Imopara will not really give you much extra when reading Imopara 2 as there are only a few references to their parents and they aren't important, this means that just because it has a 2 in its name doesn't mean you need to read the first one before the sequal.

First a quick summary of Imopara 2. Imopara 2 is about a perverted older brother and his 5 little sisters Chiharu, Momoka, Ririna, Shizuku and Yuzu. Summer vacation just started and their parents are on an overseas trip. This leaves the siblings alone and opens up the chances for them to express their feelings for each other. As for how it plays out there is first an introduction and then you get an option to spend time with one of the sisters. Spend time with them means a sexual scene will happen and after a while you enter her route. You can also chose to just relax and stay at your room, after doing this for all the choices the little sisters become quite bold themselves and you enter the harem route.

Here are my thoughts on each of the little sisters

Chiharu was in my opinion the low point of Imopara 2. While her character design is really nice I found her personality to be really lacking. Her personality pretty much boils down to being energetic and quite bold. My main problem with her is that she is bold in a boring way, she is just kind of pushy when it comes to sex, but she really lacks a seducing wibe. Also because of how she takes charge of the sex scenes her brother doesn't really manage to do much else than react to things she does and as such the dialoge between them during sex as well as outside of sex just felt hollow. As for the sexual situations there are a lot of risky scenes as well as public sex scenes, as for the scenes themselves I think they would have been good if not for the dialog problem I mentioned earlier. As for her story part I felt like it was a bit too much of a mood shift and didn't really think it fit in with her route that well. Also another part of her personality that I forgot to mention is that she loves manga and games and have a lot in common with her brother, though the problem here is that they pretty much didn't do anything with it which I think it quite sad since I think those traits would have made her route much better if this part of her setting was actually used. So in conclusion I think Chiharu has a pretty bad route, though she does have a lot of good looking CGs.

Momoka is the little sister who takes care of everything in the house like cooking and landry and she pretty much acts like a mother to all her siblings while their parents are away. She loves baking and eating sweet things and her personality is pretty much just as sweet as the things she eats. I personally just found her to be really damn adorable and in terms of wife material I think she is top tier. I think Moonstone just really nails it when it comes to pink haired deredere heroines as I also liked Rise from Princess Evangile and Aya from Imopara. She is quite stright forward from the first sex scene onwards which I didn't really expect and her route is the most romantic one with them becoming a couple pretty honest about their feelings pretty early on. As for the sex scenes she starts of not really knowing much but still being very curious, which I found adorable and as it progresses she reads up on things related to sex so that she can learn how to better please her brother (though she also makes sure that she also gets to feel good herself). Her chemistry with the her brother is really good and they make an adorable couple. So ye in conclusion I really loved her route and I think she was just a delightful character, also I really liked her ending scene.

Ririna is quite an obvious tsundere as well as a closet pervert. Her normal interactions with her brother is him saying some dirty joke and she kicking the crap out of him because of it. She is pretty much in denial of her love for her older brother and a lot of the first sex scenes involve her getting into sexual situations where she pretty much tries to make it seem like he is blackmailing her and she is just going along even though she often either make the sugestions herself or takes his jokes literally while choosing to ignore him while he tries to clear up missunderstandings. Her sex scenes usually starts with her acting strong, but losing herself to plessure as it goes along, while I found it to be quite nice in the start it did end up feeling a bit repetative. As for her chemistry with her brother I would say it is quite nice and I think her route does a decent job of building their relationship during the route. One negative with the route though is that I found the comedy to be a bit weak, this is a bit unfortunate as I think the comedy is one of the strong points of the Imopara series. Also there were some odd translation with the word vagina being replaced with the word sex, translation otherwise was good but this was just really odd. As for what I thought of her route as a whole I would say pretty decent, it has its strong points with character interaction and romance building, though it suffers from weak comedy and feeling repetative.

Shizuku is a bookworm who pretty much only focuses on reading odd books related sex. She is very open about her love for her brother as well as openly sharing the strange sexual knowledge she finds out. As for her route it focuses on her wanting to control the ejaculation of her brother as she found something about improving health through a healthy ejaculation schedule. Using this she does sexual things with him causing him to come 2-3 times everyday without him being allowed to masturbate. Her route is generally just bizzare and some of the things she says are also just really bizzare and funny. During the sex scenes I think the dialog is really good as she says so many things that spices things up and keep it from feeling boring. In general there is just a really good mix of comedy and sex in her route and I think that her route can be considered the best in terms of being a nukige.

Yuzu is the loli of the sisters, while she is the same age as the other sisters she is way smaller than them and she also acts quite childish. Yuzu is quite harsh towards her brother and often insults him, though he often deserves it as he really likes to tease her. As for the character interaction I think it often leads to a lot of good comedic moments and the character interactions generally amused me. When it comes to the sex scenes she is often in situations that try to focus quite a lot on her childish looks and childish nature (basically it is mainly targeted towards lolicons). So if you like loli character in eroge you are very likely going to like her route, if you hate loli and think it is pretty much CP well this will probably not be something you will enjoy that much. Myself I am pretty much indifferent to whether the characters are loli or not though there were a few times I felt like it kind of went a bit far with the loli stuff and was kind of creepy. Other than the fact that the scenes tries to appeal to lolicons I would say they generally have good dialog and that there is nice variation in the sex scenes with the different fetishes it focuses on. Overall a pretty good route though some slight negatives for me for being too loli focused, though some people probably love that.

The harem route I found to be quite nice as it features a decent amount of interesting positions as well as combinations of the sisters which spices up the scenes. The main thing I love about harem routes is how the girls interact during the sex scenes and I think it did a good job at it.

Overall I would say that I found Imopara 2 to be a really nice read. While Chiharu's route which was the first I read set my expectations low the other routes more than made up for it. As for how I would rate the routes it would be Chiharu (bad), Ririna and Yuzu (quite good), Momoka, Shizuku and harem (really good). I really liked the comedy in most routes and I think this is one of the strong points of the Imopara series, the comedy is in general based on just how absurd some of the things they say or some of the situations they are in are, since I really like absurd comedy this at least made me laugh quite a lot. As for the sexual part of it I would say it does a really good job having quite a nice variation of sex scenes and doing a good job of using settings that suit the different characters. Also one thing I really loved is how they often have sex in risky situations where other sisters could potentially find out (in some cases they actually do), I think this adds a nice sense of excitement to the scenes and also I found it really funny when it is later revealed that they were seen during a specific sex scene. As for the art I would say it is a clear improvment over the original Imopara and that the art is really nice looking and quite consistantly good. The sound I found to work quite well for the most part, though I seem to remember thinking one of the background musics during some sex scenes didn't really work that well.

    Reversible cover
The physical release is quite standard though it is nice that they avoided having Yuzu's sex scenes shown on the back as that probably could cause some problems during import. Also one thing I think is really cool was that when I installed it from the disc I got the options of whether or not I wanted H-animation or not and whether I wanted mosaics or not. Adding extra options like those is pretty nice, I myself decided not to have H-animation since it looks kind of grainy and I also want to have screenshots of all the CGs in the VN which I couldn't do with H-animation on.

For a general introduction to what Saya no Uta is you can just read it on the back of the hardcopy (picture of it is bellow) I can't really go into it much without spoiling anything so I will only mention my general feelings about Saya no Uta
Saya no Uta is quite an interesting psychological horror visual novel and a thing I really like about it is how it shows a lot of unique perspectives and how dvelve into the psychology of the different characters. While it is a rather short visual novel I think that it does a really good job of using the time it has to cover a great story and it never felt to me like it went to fast. While I do think it was generally really interesting I did at times feel a bit bored during a few parts of the VN, this didn't happen often, but it was somewhat noticable. The art of Saya no Uta I found to be quite good, it manages quite well both to display the horrors the main characters see and the beauty of Saya, though it being 800x600 resolution does hurt it a bit (some time after my review they added a free patch that makes the resolution 1600x1200). The sound in Saya no Uta I really loved, it does a really good job at setting the tones of the scenes and is really essensial to the enjoyment of the VN, I especially liked the one with the same name a the VN Saya no Uta. As for the endings 2 of the 3 are quite interesting, but I wouldn't say they are that amazing, though the true ending was absolutely stunning.

The description of the VN taken from vndb
Ema Tachibana is a tall, gloomy and unsociable girl with a bad case of resting bitch-face. With all that working against her, she's never really had any friends. At school, everyone's too scared to approach her.

But Ema herself is quite content with that state of affairs. In fact, she was all set to spend the rest of her time until graduation invisible as ever...

That is, until two men turned her life upside down!

"It's you... I've finally found you! You are, without a doubt, MY MUSE!"

Miki Hiraizumi—recently returned to Japan from abroad, he's loved making clothes ever since he was a little kid. He has a strong desire to help make charming, unusual women shine. (He's also a bit of a masochist.)

"Listen up, twerp! You're no good the way you are now. But even you have some potential to shine... I'll just have to polish you up!"

And Saito Shinjou—he frequently finds himself bored because things have always come easy to him. He aspires to accomplish something so big, it'll change the world. (He's also a bit of a sadist.)

These two ambitious and attractive fellows decide to give Ema Tachibana a makeover!

    But Ema has other ideas.
    My review
First of I want to start with the postives. In my opinion Fashioning Little Miss Lonesome does a really good job at over the top comedy which it has a lot of. A lot of the things the characters does and say can be really outrageous which drives a lot of the comedy, another good aspect is the different bad endings which are often quite creative and usually very funny. As for things I didn't like I would say it is the characters, general story and romance. The characters while often funny were just generally unlikable in my opinion, I think they just had to many bad traits while not really having many good ones ending up with just unsatisfactory character rather than them being loveable idiots which I assumed they tried for when making them. The story in general felt kind of meh, it wasn't really bad but I wouldn't call it good either and other than the really funny over the top moments it often just started feeling boring. As for the romance I think it was pretty rushed and I had a hard time really caring about that element in this VN. Of course me not liking the romance could have a bit to do with it being an Otome VN which means it mainly apeals to women, so it might be that they find it more satisfactory. As for the sex scenes they seem to focus on romance building, though since I didn't really like the romance that much I didn't really care for them. Also I feel like they missed an opportunity not using the skimpy clothes made by Miki in the sex scenes, when you have such lovely sexy clothes in a VN why not use it in at least some sex scenes?
    Final thought
As for my overall thoughts I think it is a good VN despite some major flaws, the comedy is really good during a lot of parts and those I think on their own are enough of a reason to read this VN but the other parts range from mediocre to bad which makes it so that I wouldn't say it is better than just good. So if you are looking for some over the top comedy I think this VN is a pretty good choice, however there are going to be some parts that you will probably find rather boring and I would not recommend it if you are looking for likeable characters, a good story or a good romance.

Henshin !!! Pantsu ni Natte Kunkun Peropero is a nukige about a perverted guy who gets the ability to transform into different things which he uses to creep on girls and rape them (the reason why he can do this is that from the thing he is transformed to he can create different body parts). So ye it is a pretty weird nukige. The VN starts with the main character moving to another school where he ends up in the same class as his little sister (who moved out after he stated his wish to become womans panties). After his day at school he finds an odd creature which looks like a stuffed toy. This creature who gets called Nanako claims to be from the future and gives him a candy with nanomachines that enables him to transform into different things and a phone looking thing to select and record his transformation. The effect of this lasts for 30 days and it can only be used 2 times a day (only 1 time a day in the weekends). The scenes of the VN is built around a map structure where you pick different scenarios from the map, first starting with a limited amount of events, but as things progresses more areas are unlocked either due to events that happen outside of the sex scenes or due to one event unlocking another event with the character. As for characters there are 7 characters that are the main interest of the main character who have their own ending, 2 of them are sisters and shares events and endings so there are 6 endings. While these 7 characters are the main targets of the main character there are also lots of other events which has the main character target random girls with lots of these being full on sex scenes.

The first part of the VN generally focuses on setting up the situation and mainly relies on comedy rather than H-scenes, so it does take a bit of time before the first H-scenes start. As for the early H-scenes I found a lot of them to be quite weak, they are both very long and also quite tame with a lot of the time being filled by the main characters internal monologue with little time spent on the different girl's reactions comperably. Though as I progressed through some scenes they started becoming much better in terms length and the situations also ramped which made them more comedic and more stimulating. So while I initially found myself dissapointed it improved substantially over time for me and i ended up liking it quite a lot. I did still find the internal monologues to be a bit long though, but that is kind of expected given the nature of the H-scenes as there really isn't a back and forth between the main character and the girl in most scenes (though the reason I found the internal monologue to be too heavy probably also has to do with me having a lower reading speed than native japanese people who probably read through these lines in a few seconds). The map system the VN uses works very well with it giving a good amount of freedom to the reader, this is quite limited in the start as only a few scenes are available at that point, but it works really well once more events are unlocked. As for the endings they are either romantic or comedic with the main character and one of the girls (2 with the sister route) getting together. While romance aspects seem rather odd they at least fit quite well with the specific girls which makes it less jarring. Also one of the routes is a bit special and has more story elements, while it is kind of a pain to unlock I did find it to be quite nice, with it tying very much into the character Nanako and why she is in the past. As for what I think is the strongest point of this VN I would have to say the uniqueness of the H-scenes, I mean it is just so different from anything else I have seen in nukige. Situations like turning into a bicycle and spawning a dick to rape the person riding it or turing into a snorkle to get a girl to give you a blowjob is just so freaking weird and exactly what I was looking for as I wanted a VN that would just make me go wtf japan?

A bit about the different girls
Amasaka Miko, the main characters little sister. She is a quite typical tsundere with a brother complex. I found her to be a fairly decent character though nothing really special. While there were some good moments with her she just ended up being too much of a standard tsundere without much else apart from a few situations.

Andou Roza is a kohai who is a super hacker and really good at video games and is often in her own world and often comes of as emotionless. While the first few scenes did a decent job of getting to know the character and had some comedic moments the emotionless part kind of hindred a lot of the enjoyment of the scenes. However as the route progressed she opened more up and there were a decent amount of good moments with her and her H-scenes got a lot better.

Merakawa Yuzu is an idol that the main character is a fan of and the girl who is number 1 on his list of girls he wants to be the panties of. The first scenes focus primarely on the idea of assulting an idol in secret while she is infront of a large crowd, while the later part shows her personality a lot more with her trying to catch whoever is doing these perverted things to her. The later part of her route really liked as I found the comedy to be really good and also liked the character.

Minakoshi Konami is the main characters homeroom teacher as well as a PE teacher. I found her to be a likeable character and I feel like she had generally consistantly good H-scenes. I don't really feel like there is that much to say about her other than her just in general being a likeable character and that one of her later scenes in particular was really good in my opinion.

Nakada sisters are senpais of the main character and are the leaders of the student council. One of them is a kind hearted airhead while the other generally portray herself as serious (other then all the time she fantasies about doing lewd things with her sister). Their interactions were in my opinion hillarious and they were by far my favorite characters. My favorite scene in the VN includes them and a double sided dildo and their other scenes were also some of my favorites. One thing I really liked about them was that there was much more of a back and forth between them and the main character after a certain point as well as just them interacting with eachother. I felt like this aspect really spiced up their scenes comedically and sexually which I would assume is why I found their scenes to generally be some of the best.

Tsukishiro Kagura is the roommate of the main character's sister. She is quite timid and endearing and I think her route is the one that had the best romance, though the romance still felt a bit odd given how the VN is in general. The main thing with this route is that even though the main character often uses his power to assult her he also helps her with a certain problem she has been struggeling with for a while. As for the H-scenes I would say she has some of the weaker ones in terms of being sexually exciting, but I also think she has the best of the a bit more wholesome scenes in the VN.

My general thoughts on the VN
My general thoughts on Henshin !!! Pantsu ni Natte Kunkun Peropero is that it is a good weird nukige that I would recommend anyone who knows japanese and just want something that makes them go wtf Japan? While I think the H-scenes often suffer a bit due to a lack of interaction between the main character and the girl this is something seems pretty inevitable given the general nature of the VN and I think it makes up for this fault by the originality of the scenes as it has H-scenes with situations you won't find in other VNs. The girls were in my opinion all quite good given that it is a nukige though the Nakada sisters were the only ones that really stood out as great characters for me. She map system also worked quite well as it gave a decent amount of choice which is important for a nukige of this nature.

The VN itself, it also include the disc for Henshin! and Henshin!2 which are older titles by the same company which has quite low resolution and serves as some bonus things for the release. The general story of Magical Marriage Lunatics!! is that the main character in his childhood accidentally entered different worlds and in each of them ended up becoming friends with the princess of that world and they made a pact to get married with him forgetting everything because returning to the normal world wipes his memories of everything that happened in the other world. The absurd premise I figured would lead to a lot of comedic moments, however the common route doesn't really seem to take advantage of this and instead have the characters often act too rational for the good of the comedic scenes and I feel as if the writers just didn't embrace the weirdness of the setting. In my opinion the common route has some good points, but generally was rather disappointing and didn't live up to my expectations which were based on other Moonstone VNs and the setting. The heroine routes however worked much better in my opinion, the characters seems to generally work better on their own than together and I think it did a good job in terms of the romance as well as the stories of the heroines. 2 that really stood out to me are Luluna (blue haired witch loli) and Luci (the red haired vampire) and I think their routes and personalities were really fun.

My overall thoughts is that it is a good VN due to the heroine routes, though it does suffer from a long and lackluster common route and overall I would give it a 7.5/10 which means I enjoyed it a lot but didn't feel like it is very good or a must read title. Overall I would recommend the title, though also mention that there are lots of better titles out there that you could probably read before going for this.

Having just finished all the endings of the Haiyore! Nyaruko-san PS vita VN i figured I would share my disappointment so those interested in know more about the VN.
The first half of the VN is a retelling of the first season of the anime with a few new scenes and lots of lots of CGs, almost all of which are just art taken from the anime. The remaning half is a decent enough story but nothing special, my main problem with it is that the comedy is very repetaive with things that used to be funny early on being overplayed to the point where it loses most of its comedic value. The really bad thing about this VN however is its route system and endings. There are 8 different endings though 6 of them have 2 variations so quite a lot of endings. These endings are short 2-3 min and the part of the route of the character that leads up to the endings are lackluster with the same events playing out each time but with a different character which means some of the dialoge is changed. The main problem here is how much of a pain in the ass it is to get to a new ending once you have completed the VN. Most of the scenes are the same for all routes and the more routes you do the less scenes are left to read in the other routes. This means a lot of skipping and the problem with this is that the skipping in the VN is a bit slow as it uses time to load the different sprites and background. Because of this skipping through the VN while not reading a single scene will take roughly 1 hour and there are probably 40-50 options to choose between so it will stop you up as you skip through it constantly. This system is a pain in the ass to deal with as you need to read the VN 8 times for all the endings and 6 of these times you need to read from roughly 70% complete to the end twice. So once you are done with your first route you will just switch between reading short segments and skipping with the later ones being pretty much pure skipping until the end. I would estimate I used roughly as long time skipping on this VN as I  actually did reading it and if I weren't a completionist by heart I would have dropped it someplace during my 2nd read through. So the only ones I would recommend to pick this up are people who really just want some more Nyaruko and just plan on reading one route before quiting.

The premise of Boku to Koisuru Ponkotsu Akuma, henceforth Ponkotsu Akuma is that the main character has a not related by blood little sister who is a total brocon and a childhood friend who clearly likes him and is bad with anything sexual. Because of the little sister being way too much of a brocon and the childhood friend being bad with sexual stuff the mother of the childhood friend which also takes care of the main character due to his parents being away all the time who is also the principle at their school send them off to a special dorm to get over their problems. The day the main character gets to the dorm he finds out that all the other residence of the dorm who are of course all girls are also some different kind of Demon (Akuma) that all are considered useless. His sister is an angel who is just way too much of a brocon, the childhood friend is a succubus who has trouble dealing with perverted stuff, then there is the kohai who is a friend of his little sister that is a mummy who because trauma related to tight bandages have trouble wearing clothes often going around nude when not in public, the transferee student yuki-onna who is bad at dealing with cold and the senpai witch who wants to make medicine but is bad at studying.

Ponkotsu Akuma is divided into one common route and five main heroine routes focusing on the five girls living in the Ponkotsu dorm as well as three smaller routes one focusing on their loli teacher, one on the mother of the childhood friend and one on a tiger girl who is friends with the little sister and the mummy girl. The fandisc has an after story for each of the routes in the main VN as well as having a harem route and a joke route for a mascot character. The afterstories are nice and manage to wrap up their routes better than the original could. As for the harem route it is quite crazy and sex filled, it quickly goes through how they got to the harem situation with the heroines only getting a few lines each for the build-up of the harem and then it jumps straight into the craziness of the situation.

The visual novel is clearly a nukige and thus mainly focus on sexual content as well as on the characters who does the sexual content. The characters each have their own quirky personalities which works well for comedic moments as well as making them likeable which I think is the most important thing to do for what it tries to do as a nukige. They do lack depth as characters though so if you are expecting a lot of character depth this title is probably not for you. Ponkotsu Akuma is very light on drama with any dramatic thing being treated light-hearted and lasting for a short period of time. The comedy is mainly focused on the absurdity of the characters as well as some of the situations they are in, so I think anyone who likes absurd comedy will really enjoy it, but those who don’t will probably have a hard time reading it. As for the characters themselves I don’t want to go into all of them, but in my opinion they are all really likeable and fun and I consider them really good nukige heroines. As for the sex scenes I think they are handled really well, with the dialog of the sex scenes in my opinion being among the better dialog I have seen in sex scenes, the art being fantastic and a good focus on variety in fetish and location.

Also one thing to mention is that Ponkotsu Akuma is very similar to Nekopara in its comedy structure and building of characters with character quirks and artwork. Ponkotsu Akuma and Nekopara are both illustrated by Sayori and one of the 3 scenario writers of Ponkotsu Akuma is the same as the scenario writer for the Nekopara series and this scenario writer is the only one listed for the Fandisc for Ponkotsu Akuma. While Ponkotsu Akuma is lewder than Nekopara I would say they in general are very similar and that if you like one you  are very likely to like the other and if you dislike one you will likely dislike the other.

My overall thoughts on Ponkotsu Akuma is that it is really good at what it tries to do, the comedy is great for those into that type of comedy, the characters are quirky and likeable, and the sex scenes are well done. There is also a lot of effort put into the music, the visual and extra features which makes it stand out as a high quality nukige. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a fun cute nukige that doesn’t take itself seriously. Though for anyone who don’t feel like this sounds interesting the title is likely not for you as it doesn’t try to focus on anything else than this.

Sol Press managed to get Irotoridori no Sekai funded so congratulation for all that hoped for the kickstarter to succeed (I already have the japanese physical editions, but I am glad for those who wanted an english release). For those who for some reason didn't notice the kickstarter and want the physical edition there will probably be a backerkit up soon and I would assume that it is somewhat likely that they plan to sell some physical copies through Hyourin.

The voting for the wallscroll bundled with Magical Marriage Lunatics (hardcopy) has now ended and they decided that instead of only having one winner the two wallscrolls with most votes will be made. This includes the wallscroll for Luci and for Yuna. They are also available through Luci bundle and Yuna bundle.

Some people have now gotten their physicals for Volume 1 and 2 of Grisaia Phantom trigger. Really nice to see that Frontwing are finally able to deliver on physicals for their kickstarters, even though it it quite late and seem to get going rather slowly.

The kickstarter for Irotoridori no Sekai now has 18 days left with 37.500/85.000, hopefully they manage to get it funded for an english release. Unfortunatly the funding needed to get the sequal and the fandisc are quite high and very unlikely to be met, though they did mention that they will look into other ways to get them funded than through this campaign if the goals aren't meet.

According to J-list my Grisaia complete box has now been shipped. There have also been a bunch of people saying that they have goten it as well as some pictures, so it is pretty safe to assume that they have actually managed to ship out Grisaia complete box this time, hopefully I get mine the next week. Hopefully this also means that there won't be major delays on their other physicals from kickstarter.

Mangagamer has now announced a physical release of Magical Marriage Lunatics!!, since I have enjoyed all Moonstone titles I have read so far I am really looking forward to it. The physical copy can be bought at Mangagamer. There is also a wallscroll voting campaign where people can vote for one of 7 designs which determines which wallscroll they will produce for their wallscroll bundle.

The kickstarter for Irotoridori is planned to start Febuary 4. I think it will be interesting to see how it goes especially since the sequal and fandisc is going to be stretch goals. Personally I probably won't back it though since I already own the physical japanese version.

Frontwing has just released a new update with new plans for when things will ship. While this is generally a good thing I doubt they will manage to follow this plan due to the sheer amount of delays we have faced so far. Well if by some miracle they actually manage to follow their plan I just need to wait a bit more for my Grisaia complete box.

From Denpasoft there are news of the physical copies of Love's sweet garnish being shipped.

Jast USA is currently having a sale on physical copies which last from now until Febuary 11. Link is https://www.jlist.com/c/j-list-visual-novel-sale

Frontwing will soon give more info about shipping of physical copies for their kickstarters. It will probably include another final date for shipment which they most likely will fail to deviler on.

Nekonyansoft has recently started talking about potentially kickstarting their physical releases. While many, myself included are a bit annoyed at VN kickstarters in general due to how FW and SP has handled things, I can see that it might be rather risky to do physical releases without one. So while it might not be the prefered way it is understandable in my opinion and whether it turns out good or bad will depend on whether or not Nekonyansoft will be able to deliver their physicals within a reasonable timeframe.

Jlist is currently selling Jast USA holiday box set which is a bundle of 3 VNs from Jast USA for $60.00. As for the value of these titles they mention that it has a value of at least $100.00 so it seems like a rather decent sale. The downside however is that you don't know which VNs you are going to get which could result in getting VNs you already own or that you don't care about. Personally I am not really a fan of these types of mystery boxes as I like to only collect VNs that I think seems like something I will like.

Here are a few titles that may be close to getting sold out or have a limited time left for pre-order.
There is a limited amount of physical copies for Clannad: Side Stories at sekaiproject, it seems to be leftovers from the original kickstarter.
On PS vita the physical edition of Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternate is being sold over at ricedigital and I am pretty sure that it is a limited run.
Backerkits that are still open Alpha's Adventures, Sakura Sakura Seven Days and Venus Blood Frontier

Mangagamer  had a huge sale with 25% of for all physical copies. Jlist had a smaller sale with a discount of $5 if you buy for more than $40, $20 if you buy for more than $100 and $40 if you buy for more than $200. Lastly Rightstufanime had a sale on Yume Miru Kusuri and the Moeru series. Those are the black friday sales relevant for physical VNs in 2018.

With Frontwing\s last update they have said that they have shipped some packages for the Corona Blossom kickstarter and that they expect to continue with the shipping until December. For Vol 1 and 2 of Grisaia Phantom Trigger they have also sent some packages, however they found a missprint on the physical manga and has to reprint that. With Grisaia the complete box they found a problem regarding the english translation for the drama CDs, they also mentioned that since Grisaia complete box is so expensive for customers that is their highest priority at the moment. They also mentioned that they plan to have finished shipping for Momoiro Closet mid December and that shipping for Wonderfull Everyday and Island is planned to start during December. Of course given their constant delays I do expect some of not all of them to at least be pushed back a bit more.

Fatal Twelve physical edition from their kickstarter has been shipped acording to their kickstarter.

Backerkit for Island is now open.

The backerkit for Venus Blood Frontier has now opened for those who want to get the physical edition but for some reason didn't pledge for the kickstarter.

Another backerkit that has opened is Seven Days for those who missed out on the kickstarter but still want to get a physical edition.

Onii♥️Kiss: Onii-chan, Where's My Kiss? and The Future Radio & the Artificial Pigeons has now gotten a page on the Sol Press site and it shows that they plan to sell physical edition of them through Hyourin. Taking this into consideration I would assume they plan to have physicals of all their future releases on Hyourin.

Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation is confirmed to get an english release and to get a physical edition for PS4. One thing to note with the PS4 edition though is that two of the scenes will be modified (censored).

Here are a few titles that may be close to getting sold out or have a limited time left for pre-order.
Physicals for Hard Work might be limited to the pre-order, not really sure how Denpasoft does it regarding physical releases.
There is also a limited amount of physical copies for Clannad: Side Stories at sekaiproject, it seems to be leftovers from the original kickstarter.
On PS vita the physical edition of Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternate is being sold over at ricedigital and I am pretty sure that it is a limited run.
