  1. Pretty much expected from Sekai Project if you read comments on their different kickstarters. Sekai Project just seem to lack control of their projects and most are a mess in one way or another. These problems are things like poor communication with developers and kickstarter backers, long delays with physicals because it seems they have no clue how to get that done it time, making promises they have problems keeping like PS Vita ports, long delays for translation and now we can add poor translations with lack of quility control to the list. From what I can see Sekai Project is just a small disorganized company that takes on a lot more projects than what they can handle. It honestly just seems like they are an amataur group that had some good sales and good sucesses in the start by luck and as such have goten many titles even though they clearly aren't capable of handeling them.
  2. What about Grisaia opened your eyes? From my understanding the problems with Grisaia were things like endless delays and not being 18+. Though I don't know why this should discurage you from buying already released physicals from places like MG. Or is there more about the Grisaia physical that I don't know about? The lesson I think should be learned from the Grisaia problem is don't trust Sekai Project or be carefull when dealing with kickstarters.
  3. Personally I mostly buy physical. English versions I buy from the site of the publishers namely Mangagamer and Jast USA I also pleged for the collectors edition of Newton and the Apple Tree so I gues I could also count kickstarter, though I do keep away from kickstarters from SP. Last time I went to Japan I also bought a bunch of physical eroge from Sofmap and Traders. I have also bought physical editions for PS Vita and PS4 of many VNs based of different series that have had an anime, like nisekoi yomeiri, New Game The Challenge Stage, To Love Ru Darkness True Princess and many more. For this I have used both amiami and playasia. In cases where there is no physical version available I will go with digital if I really want to play it, but usually will wait for a sale in that case.
  4. Hopefully it will hurt them on steam a bit given that there are so many negative discussions. Also people who care for this are not only people who care for fapp material, but also people that are against censorship in general. Though as you said considering it is steam most people probably won't look at the discussions and probably won't care.
  5. One way is to buy the books they use for learning japanese at high school or universities and go through them to get the basics, I think the genki books works quite well for this. I would probably recommend mainly focusing on vocabulary first and foremost. Ofc by vocabulary I mean both the way things are said and the way they are written. First learn hiragana and katakana and then after that you should start to learn some of the easier kanji and then learn the harder ones as you progress. Once you have goten some of the fundamentals down I would recommend using it on things that are easy to read. For example if you find a VN where all the characters are voice acted this will make it easier for you as you can combine your knowlegde of the kanji and pronounciation and thereby understand more of what is going on. Also these early VNs you read should have characters that are easy to understand, for instance by being expressive and maybe following known archetypes. Once you get better just progress to more difficult stuff. Ofc manga is also a nice option. Manga are written in furigana, meaning they have the pronounciation written in small text at the side of the kanji. Ofc everyone learns best using different methods, this is the method I have used personally and while I am not fluent in japanese yet I have gone through some japanese VNs and it seems to work great for me.
  6. With all the people sharing their taste of porn with their sisters I am kind of starting to wonder whether or not there is also incest going on. Didn't really think people would copy actions from the content they are watching/reading, but maybe I was wrong. Lots of incest eroge = lots of incest? I don't have a sister myself so it probably is less weird to talk about porn with your sister than I think. Just kind of wanted to make this comment for fun since people were mentioning their sister.
  7. I have not played it myself so I don't know how good it is, but I have heard that they screwed up in regards to some of the translation. Seems a few lines were never translated. Here is a link to someone showing some screenshots of some of the problem on twitter https://twitter.com/Hainiryuun/status/944403349570510848 It also seems like it is just the first game of a trilogi, so I gues you would have to wait for the rest of it to contenu the story.
  8. There is pretty much always a risk in regard to content that breaks the obscenity laws, whether it is just watching something online, buying something online or importing something. The less regulated the area the lower the risk. Internet provider gets no gain from looking through all your data other than potential blackmail material, something that is unlikely to be used unless you become rich or important in politics. Banks have less data to look through to find something and therefore purcheses are a bit more risky, however unless the government is pushing them to look for these things they have no insentive to bother unless it seems very shady. Physical goods however are checked by the postal service and thus if the person checking it see something they think is illegal they might look more into it and you can get charges. Publishers like Mangagamer often have tame covers where loli characters do not appear in sexual situations to counter this, ofc this only decrease the chance of it being picked out as questionable content and will not make it 100% safe. Atleast this is how I think the situation is.
  9. I am from Norway and import my eroge physically. When looking for obscenity laws I found this on wikipedia However this law seems rather vague. For instance it would seem like it would also include things that are considered ecchi, and atleast in terms of ecchi I can think of a few anime and manga sold in Norway that break these rules. Also I have never heard anyone getting into trouble because of this. So while the law seems bad I don't think it is actually enforced in terms of drawings. Btw considering how vague the law is I gues things like Romeo and Juliet as well as things like Game of Thrones would also be banned. So in the end it seems like a nonsensical law.
  10. Nice now all SP has left to do to earn my trust is to learn to be faster with translation, fix Denpasoft, fix their communication issues, stop relying on kickstarter, actually translate all lines, have physical copies outside of kickstarters and push for mosaic free releases.
  11. Could wish obscenity laws were just removed from every country in the world. These laws are just so stupid.
  12. Well this is Sekai Project we are talking about, probably some months of silence while there is a lot of backlash from people. After these months they will suddenly provide a patch without having told anyone they were working on it. This patch will of course cause problems with the Denpasoft version and piss people off as well as lead to about half a year to a year extra delay on their physical releases. Well this scenario is just something I gues based on how Sekai Project usually does things.
  13. Well they are working with the people behind Rapelay so maybe they are going to take the risk of Maitetsu as well.
  14. Hope mainstream media doesn't go on an attack because of this. Really anoying how people with no clue about what they are talking about are the ones who could have the most effect on something.
  15. Well they do have some store exclusive things as well as pre order bonuses and thing like that in Japanese games. Not like the japanese game market is perfect
  16. I don't think it will change for all of Denpasoft's games, however it seems they have already asked Sayori in regard to Nekopara and have goten a positive response. Currently it seems like Sekai Project gives no pushback against mosaic censorship when dealing with developers. When they got pushback against Chrono Clock they managed to get the mosaics removed, it also seems like Frontwing who had mosaics in Grisaia has moved away from mosaics after the pushback they got for of Corona Blossom vol1. In these cases it seems like the main thing missing was a lack of pressure from SP on the developers. From what I understand Fakku is releasing their other content without mosaics, which means mosaics is likely to be a bigger concern than on steam or Denpasoft. This combined with the fact that Fakku seems to be reaching out to developers could potentially get us some mosaic free releases. It will also most likely increase the chance of future things from SP being mosaic free. I am not saying that this is certainly going to happen, though I do think that the possibility is there.
  17. Maybe they will patch the Denpasoft version as well when mosaics are removed. Hard to know considering Sekai Project is quite bad at hadling things.
  18. Personally I am more interested in possible new hardcopies. Also this comment about removal of mosaic censorship was quite interesting. Not a big fan of eromanga, so for me the site itself isn't that interesting.
  19. Also they have Imopara and shows the twins having sex in the sample screenshots. Personally not too familiar with the site, but seems unlikely that they will censor lolies.
  20. I wonder what other people think about Fakku joining the eroge industry . So far they have goten deals to distribute games from JAST, MangaGamer, Denpasoft, Illusion, and Lyricbox. Personally what I find most interesting is the possibilety that some of Denpasofts games might have mosaics removed as well as Fakku being a possible hardcopy distributor for Sekai Project/Denpasoft. So pretty much I am just hoping that they will help fix some of the problems with one of the big eroge publishers. Since MG and JAST don't have these problems I don't think it is much we can gain from them distributing on Fakku. I don't really know much about Illusion and Lyricbox other than Lyricbox being the developer of HemoImo https://vndb.org/v20488. Though from what I can see on vndb they don't really interest me. It would be nice to hear what other people think about this. Is this just going to add another place to buy eroge or will this actually have an impact?
  21. Hope the ImoPara sales numbers means we get ImoPara 3 sometimes in the future. Anyways would be nice if it is because Sorcery Jokers is still some weeks away that it is not in top 5 and that it will sell much more closer to release as well as right after release. I want a hardcopy
  22. Hope this sells enough for hardcopy, though it seems like the sales atm aren't too great. I know there is a sale and all on other VNs on Mangagamer but I still would have expected this to be in the top 5 on weekly ranking. Imopara 2 has managed to keep 1st place so it is disapointing to see this one not even hit the top 5. Hopefully it will get better once it release on steam.
  23. Odd I see 20% Edit: For some odd reason it is 10% on steampage when looking through chrome while it is 20% when I use steam itself
  24. They now have a 20% discount on steam. Pretty sure it was lower than that before, maybe 10%. I would assume that it indicates that they are somewhat desperate to sell more copies.
  25. Btw does anyone know how much a VN usually sells at roughly full price? Don't really know if steamspy is a good measurement since a lot of the sales are at times with heavy discount. Kind of hard to know what is considered bad sales during the start when I don't really know the average.
