  1. Hey, Nogizaka46, that idol group I always saw as a bit less crappy than most idol groups, sent some of their girls to The First Take (IMO with cool results). Nice to see idols in an environment that is very much about music and singing, and not about all the superficial crap. :3
  2. Grisaia adaptations have their own charm IMO. They aren't great, but for the most part, they capture the spirit of the series and do a fine job of rewriting Kajitsu in a way that makes sense for the sequels. School Days is a faithful adaptation of the game's worst route. Which means it kind of awful and kind of glorious, depending on how you look at it. I'll forever be a staunch defender of both, although probably it's not what you were looking for when asking for "good" series. xD Is Fate worth mentioning in this context? At the very least, Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel are very highly rated.
  3. Going a bit deeper into the anime, I can't imagine the original being worth anyone's time TBH. There are some gloriously inappropriate moments in the show that can be enjoyable on some level, but generally, it's the kind of content that makes some sense in decently-animated form, but would be completely dull to read through. And whenever it strays away from dumb comedy, it gets boring right away. If anyone watched it and remembers the giant tiger episode, they might know what I'm talking about – it was not only weirdly dull and humorless, but also did a tonal 180 at the end with the weirdest sexual joke I might've seen in all anime. There are still things I like about it though, mainly the small harem and the absolute openness in which the show embraces the bad meme that it is. A bit like Maou-sama Retry, but infinitely more pervy. Also, the incel parody in episode 5 was so out there that I won't be able to fully hate this series or consider it forgettable no matter what happens in the last few episodes. xD Edit: And after finishing the last few episodes, they weren't horrible, but they were mostly your average. serviceable action plot. Also, in the end everything evolved in the traditional harem fashion, with more girls being added, without much personality or context... The final rating is "meh", although still with some funny moments to enjoy. The initial act was wacky and had some creative energy in it, but that didn't translate into a full season, everything becoming rather stale and a bit too serious after 5th episode. Kind of like Love Tyrant, it just couldn't commit to the comedy and self-aware stupidity for long enough to make the formula consistently fun. I'm mildly disappointed. :<
  4. Right, what I didn't mention is that I actually enjoyed the drama around the second saint and the way her story was resolved to a decent degree. While in a normal series indeed either her or the prince would simply be villains, here it's probably the most nuanced and emotional part of the plot. And overall, what I said about the final act is kind of a minor complaint, although...
  5. That shouldn't be too hard! The question is, do we start from scratch or add the last year's half-assed efforts?
  6. How are you doing people? I haven't been around lately but strangely enough,I'm still alive and even watching trash-tier anime! First, I've finished The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent which, sadly, fell more into cheesy romance tropes more than the isekai power fantasy in the second part of the season. It's quite an interesting specimen in general, as it does with josei tropes basically the same thing trashiest isekais usually do with shounen tropes – the world is just so convenient for the protagonist it's laughable, but at the same time, the female fantasy is infinitely more wholesome and gentle, so I kind of enjoy it. It's a slow-burn, pleasant series where conflict is barely existent and no forms of malice seem possible outside of natural disasters... But it's all heartwarming enough to justify its existence. Maybe it'd be less so if such shows were common, but this specific spin on isekai wasn't something I've seen before and felt fresh enough to not bore me. Than, I fell into the trap of watching Love Tyrant which I knew was a shit anime, but still seemed amusing enough from clips. The clips, sadly, were the best part about it. Bad comedic timing, poor writing, flat characters without charm, plot that for some reason tries to transition from episodic comedy to emotional drama and immediately falls flat on its face... From average ratings you would not think it'd be horrible to watch, but I consider it one of my worst anime experiences to date: not good enough to actually be fun and not bad enough to make for a good ironic watch. It's not "so bad it's good" or outrageous enough to keep you engaged, just a tone-deaf pile of utter mediocrity. And possibly going even further down the drain, I've started watching The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter. And well, entertainment value is at least infinitely higher than Love Tyrant (that is, higher than zero). In a way, it might be my new favourite perv anime – it has this utterly charming quality of being full-on ecchi and being consistently mild in all it does. The premise is basically the protagonist being OP and regenerating his mana through pleasure – all kinds, like good food and drink, but primarily through mildly sexual acts with a small cast of willing heroines, with a very obvious main girl. And he has to recharge often, as he will die if he overspends his power. I'm not sure if that makes sense to anyone else, but what makes Hidden Dungeon enjoyable to me, outside of being generally a somewhat-competent trash fantasy show, is that it's not over-the-top juvenile – it's just the right, mostly believable levels of juvenile, with surprising attention to detail in both how the world is built and how the ecchi is done. And it's not even a tease, like, you have a fully consensual kissing scene in the first episode! What anime does that? I dunno, I might be crazy, but I respect what this show does.
  7. Hey there and welcome to Fuwa! Sorry for a late response, but depending on how serious you are about doing this, both the Fan Translation Discussion and Translations Projects boards could be OK to post in. We can always move the thread later, so don't sweat over the details.
  8. Every Souls game (including Sekiro & Blooborne) would hit this mark. I like the worlds they build and the low-key manner in which they present their stories, but I have no patience for the brutal difficulty. I end up spending my time in wikis and YouTube rather than actually playing the games. Also all overly-grindy, random encounter based JRPGs. I like doing completionist runs in my games and JRPGs often treat those as apportunities to simply waste your time with repetitive BS. Not sure why people find that fun.
  9. Welcome to Fuwa! Hope you'll have utilizing the newly found posting powers.
  10. In my experience, backwards compatibility and effectiveness of compatibility modes was only improving in latest editions of Windows, I don't imagine 11 giving you problems on many apps that work on 10, although it might be different for fringe cases that require some obscure tricks to get running. The only reason I'd discourage switching to 11 is that the early adopter experience by default has mostly downsides, unless you're really into that kind stuff.
  11. Hey, nothing wrong with enjoying VNs even when you have more going on in your life. And happy to hear you're in a better place right now (both literally and metaphorically, I assume). Your old posts were bizarre in a very memorable way, so it'd be hard to forget them, but this thread immediately gave off a much better vibe, regardless of how different the topic is. I was surprised to see it, in a positive way. Anyway, not sure I can add anything on topic, so I'll just wish you good luck on your project.
  12. Oh hey, it's you! Didn't think I'd see you posting again. ^^ So you're basically making a project for your portfolio? I wonder if anyone around here has the know-how that exceeds yours in any meaningful way. One person that comes to mind is @BunnyAdvocate, but I don't think they log in anymore...
  13. Among the conspiracy theories that are just plain insanity or nonsensical new-age drivel, I find this one actually pretty fun. At the very least there's some genuine fodder for the idea that civilization in the Middle East flourished before being decimated by natural disasters and the "official" flow of history we learn about to day is an incomplete picture. Of course, the people that are into that shit 90% of the time make leaps of logic straight into Ancient Aliens territories.
  14. Ace Academy. One heroine is low-key in relationship with protagonist's friend from the beginning, two others are either shown or implied to find someone if you don't choose them. A flawed game for sure, but it's still something I really love about it – the protagonist not being the center of the world and heroines having their own lives that go on if you don't go after them (or fail the romance arc).
  15. Let's have some more 80's ID music! Vina Panduwinata sang these cheesy love songs that I somehow find really hard to resist...
  16. Interactions with v-tubers are just this perfect kind of cringe... 😅

  17. This is necropost to the extreme, but I guess this topic is an evergreen... Anyway, as much as I heard, the anime is a jumbled mess of scenes from different routes. In the VN, the things you just described belong to different timelines/follow different set of choices. It will likely only make some, limited amount of sense if you complete the VN and know all the context the anime skipped on to pack as many h-scenes as possible. Edit: Although on second though, these might all fit the true route, with the right interpretation/considering the mind altering technology the VN hints at in several places... But again, explaining the anime is kind of pointless. The overall plot is pretty complex (and convoluted) and even after fully completing the game I wasn't sure I understood it 100%, so I can only imagine how incomprehensible it gets after shortening it to this degree. Experiencing the source material by yourself is really the best way to go about it and the VN has some excellent moments that makes it all worth it even if you don't fully enjoy the extreme h-content.
  18. Welcome! I hope you'll indeed find our little community relatively not hellish.
  19. There's something fascinating with how this thread is evolving with every iteration though. Like, he never directly responds to feedback or discusses stuff in the way forums users usually do, but you can see the effects of our responses every time this pops up. The framing is always slightly different and new arguments are replacing the ones that were most violently rebuked. It's as if this was some kind of spell, with the author looking for that one exact set of words that will magically conjure his dream project into existence. I haven't seen anything like it before. And @Nenor5VB, maaaaaan... Above all, this is not really a dev forums. You can somewhat hope to find translators here, but there's very little chance that someone even capable of furthering you cause will ever read what you publish around here. I've said this before, but there are outlets out there that are way more fit to host this topic – particularly after it has been utterly depleted around here. Lemma Soft, VN Dev subreddit, maybe CloudNovel forums or other platform-related sites. You're just talking at void at this point and if you keep it up, I'll seriously consider removing all future threads for redundancy.
  20. No worries, introductions are not mandatory. Welcome to Fuwa!
  21. All best wishes to @adamstan!
  22. Today, after a few technical fuckups, I've published a post highlighting the most interesting VNs in this year's NaNoRenO. This was lost in writing hell for months and months, but I hated the idea of abandoning it, so... It's here! Hopefully, future game jam summaries won't be 4 months late.
