  1. I've finally completed Hakuoki. I have no idea why it was listed as "Long (30-50 hours)" since it is definitely way longer than that (13 routes each in Kyoto Winds and Edo Blossoms, with an average route length of ~3h; excluding Chizuru's route which is about 16 minutes), so I took it upon myself to edit the length to "Very Long (>50 hours)". Well that aside, I've got to say that it has definitely improved my take on otoges. My first otoge was Amnesia, and I didn't really enjoy it that much (A yandere male lead? A protagonist who doesn't even talk? Yikes). Hakuoki also has a yandere-ish male character in the form of Kazama, but he's definitely much more toned down than the one in Amnesia. Before I get to the plot, I have to say that it has quite a star-studded lineup of voice actors; with the likes of Ono Daisuke, Seki Tomokazu and Miyano Mamoru in the mix (Warning: The following list is very long). Tldr; some of them have voiced characters for Umineko, Higurashi, Muv Luv, Fate, Dies Irae, Majikoi , Tokyo Ghoul, Attack on Titan and many other popular VNs/anime. Ok, now to the plot. Since the story is loosely based on real-life historical events, one can easily predict the outcome of certain events in the game given that they have some knowledge of Japanese history (well, not that the average non-Japanese VN reader would know much Japanese history, but still). This is also why some events can never be altered in all routes. With that being said, while events remain roughly the same in all routes, the ways in which they are approached in are different. Depending on who Chizuru ends up with, we get to experience things from different perspectives, giving us a very detailed insight on each major event. Some characters like Kazama and Sanan may come off as evil and creepy at first, but as we get to their routes, we start to understand their motivations better. On a side note, 1 thing I feel quite intrigued about is I had some expectations going into this VN, and I'm glad that those expectations were met. Plenty of action, decent romance and good pacing. Final rating: 7.8/10
  2. TIL that AnoHana's ED is actually the fourth version. Now I know why the AnoHana version is also called "10 Years After". I feel so dumb for not realizing it sooner. 1st version (2001): 2nd version (2008): 3rd version (2010): 4th version (2011): Live version:
  3. In this case homeless people would actually double
  4. Unfortunately, I don't think Santa Alter will be available anymore (at least not in the foreseeable future), as the events that you could get her in have long since passed.
  5. Intricate route system, (some) humorous bad ends, good story and huge emotional payoff. Definitely would recommend
  6. Wait till you play 428 Shibuya Scramble lol
  7. Lol I got JTR from the last GSSR too. As for the current GSSR, I've decided to skip it since the chances of me getting what I want are extremely low. The next GSSR I've decided to roll on is the 3rd anniversary next year, since that's when the paid quartz summon amount is halved from 30 to 15.
  8. It hasn't been revealed yet, but I personally think it should have 2 volumes left, so that would make it 8 chapters.
  9. Some of my best Servants also came from tickets lol. 1 ticket for Merlin, 7 tickets for Gilgamesh, 3 tickets for Scathach, 4 tickets for Ishtar... also got Musashi and MHXA with tickets, but I forgot how many. Ten pulls on the other hand rarely get me anything good, aside from Shuten, Waver and Drake.
  10. Just completed Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2. The secret hidden in Eren's basement has finally been revealed, making it a huge turning point in the series. The fight scenes were also top notch as expected. Overall a very good watch but it's a pity that there are only 10 episodes. On another note, the final season of AoT will premiere next year. It will start from Volume 23 (Chapter 91) of the manga and adapt 2 very long arcs, so I'm really looking forward to it.
  11. I don't thnk it's possible to explain the point of Umineko without spoiling anything. What i said earlier was the non-spoiler version.
  12. Oh yeah how could I have forgotten? Now that I have looked at her roles, I'm amazed to find out that she has voiced character in numerous works which I've either read or watched: Fata Morgana*, Higurashi, Umineko, Golden Time, Toradora, Konosuba, Monogatari. *- Well technically I haven't seen her voice Maria in Fata Morgana, since I've only played the PC version.
  13. It's a long time since I started a topic, so I suppose it's about time I made a new one. I'm also a bit curious as to which seiyuu(s) is/are the most liked here. 2 questions: 1. Who are your favorite voice actors/actresses? 2. What are some of your most liked anime/visual novel characters voiced by your favorite voice actors/actresses? My personal favorites are (not in order): 1. Kamiya Hiroshi - Levi (Attack on Titan), Otanashi Yuzuru (Angel Beats), Araragi Koyomi (Monogatari), Yato (Noragami) 2. Fukuyama Jun - Lelouch (Code Geass), Kazuma (Noragami), Dark Flame Master Togashi Yuuta(Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!), Maou (G-senjou no Maou) 3. Miyano Mamoru - Rintaro Okabe (Steins Gate), Shuu Tsukiyama (Tokyo Ghoul), Pandora's Actor (Overlord) 4. Saito Chiwa - Senjougahara Hitagi (Monogatari), Caster (Fate Extra), Kanbe Kotori (Rewrite) 5. Tanaka Ryouko - Sakagami Tomoyo (Clannad), Sakaki Yumiko (Grisaia), Hazakura Seiso (Majikoi S), Kurugaya Yuiko (Little Busters) 6. Ishikawa Yui - Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan), Violet (Violet Evergarden) 7. Sakamoto Mayaa - Ryogi Shiki (Kara no Kyoukai), Ruler (Fate Apocrypha) 8. Sawashiro Miyuki - Canaan (Canaan/428 Shibuya Scramble), Kanbaru Suruga (Monogatari), Saber of Red (Fate Apocrypha), Bishamon (Noragami) 9. Mizusawa Kei - Kusakabe Asako (Grisaia), Usami Haru (G-senjou no Maou), Minakami Yuki (Subahibi), Sakurai Kei (Dies Irae) 10. Hanazawa Kana - Tachibana Kanade (Angel Beats), Sengoku Nadeko (Monogatari), Tsunemori Akane (Psycho Pass), Kagari (Rewrite), Shiina Mayuri (Steins Gate) , Shiomiya Shiori (Kami nomi), Danganronpa 2 (Chiaki Nanami) 11. Taguchi Hiroko - Suou Amane (Grisaia), Kagami Sumika (Muv Luv) , Miyamura Miyako (Ef: A Fairy Tale of the Two), Kitsuki Riho (Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort)
  14. Agartha's widely considered to be one of the worst stories in FGO, but it's really not that bad if you compare it to Orleans or Septem. I'm also quite surprised you haven't played JP, considering it's 7 chapters ahead of NA. I've got a Lv 100 Shuten, so if you'd like, you add me with my Friend ID: 927,402,510
  15. Umineko. There's no real detective, but Battler's the one solving the mysteries
  16. Not sure if it's to your liking, but I want to eat your pancreas is quite similar to Your Lie in April
  17. Welcome! I see you're a Fate (/Extra) fan as well
  18. Pros of the VN: Has the 2-day time loop arc and Nae's future identity which were not featured in the anime (the former was only briefly shown in Deja vu) Has other routes other than the True Route adapted in the anime, offering new perspectives Cons of the VN: A lot of info-dumping and slice-of-life events (these were toned down in the anime) The turning point doesn't take place until much later
  19. Completed Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort. Overall not really that interesting, but this particular scene caught my attention because of the manga references LOL Next up, Hakuouki. My knowledge of the Shinsengumi is only limited to the ones in FGO, and I only happen to know 3 of them: 1. Hijikata Toshizou 2. Okita Souji 3. Sakamoto Ryouma Nevertheless, the synopsis looks interesting and I'm looking forward to it P.S Is there a route order in Hakuouki?
