  1. Enjoy all the annoying notification spam, idiot.

  2. Still trying to quote me, you diseased hyene? Too bad, I still can't bother seeing what you have to say. Too bad. All I see is a blankety blank space.

  3. Decided against my judgement not to buy Hitman 2, settling for future otome Vita games I'd be buying instead (not to mention tickets for the upcoming Into the Spider-Verse, Captain Marvel, and Avengers 4). Hitman 2 is so tempting, and so is its Gold Edition... but I just can't. It's way too expensive for now, and I have other "priorities."

  4. Ah, never gets old everytime I see this. I remember thinking that the "looking into the distance in deep thought" sequence was one of the oldest, edgiest, and therefore cheesiest cliches ever.

  5. Actually, now that I think about Ever17 again, it didn't even bother to talk about

    the Lemurian Ruins.

I had thought that it would be incorporated into the story somehow, mixing elements of fantasy with mystery like Umineko did.

And what about the survivors who got infected with the

Cure virus? Are the main characters basically immortals now? Is that supposed to be the happy ending? Because immortality isn't happy at all, if you read other stories about this subject. Immortality is a long and painful fate. If anything, this is a tragic ending, not a happy one. Unless, of course, the Cure virus doesn't actually grant immortality, but then that should be explained properly.

And what about Tief Bleu? Where did it come from? Who invented it? Or was it supposed to be a natural virus? For a mystery story, it certainly didn't bother to reveal many truths.

  6. >Almost reached the ending of Ever17
    >Could only think about

    Spoiler

    Steins;Gate Elite

    instead of finishing Ever17

  7. Some days, I feel like that I'm that self-righteous store owner of the cheap dime store from Shibuya Scramble, getting into heated discussions about a passion of his. lol That's not a compliment to myself, by the way... "Self-righteousness" is not a good trait.

Actually, now that I think about it, it's interesting that 428 Shibuya Scramble offers insight to the three kinds of forum users you'd normally see: the self-righteous debater (dime store owner), the one who hides his true self behind an anonymous persona (spoiler person), and the average passive user who browses the forum, occasionally posting his thoughts (Osawa).

  8. I'm surprised Steam listed Mangagamer as a developer, since I've perused many of MG's nukiges... for research purposes. I know the developer page for MG excludes their nukiges, but still... MG isn't exactly the kind of developer I would associate with the family-friendly Steam.

  9. While Googling "Doki Doki Meme Club"...

    Spoiler

"You think you can just load a save and start over, right?"

Creepy. Added "Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi." to wishlist. The way the story is told (new playthroughs required) reminds me a lot of western horror indie games. Definitely interested in this.

Seems like JAST has finished translating, but haven't finished the programming yet.

Kinda wish I didn't find out about the context of that quote though... lol Google is such an enemy at times.

  10. Insomnia really sucks. That feeling of tiredness, but your body remains awake. It's like... a waking dream, maybe? Sigh. At least I have my VNs to keep me company. I think I'll go insane if I just stay awake with nothing to do.

  11. A bitter victory tastes like... cheap beer. Has a bad aftertaste.

  12. Man, now that I look at Ever17's flowchart, it is rather needlessly complicated, especially in regards to Tsugumi and Sora's epilogue. Well, not that I'm complaining, since I did enjoy a far more complex route system like School Days.

  13. I hate losing, no matter the circumstances.

  14. Alright, let's try this again. Contacted Steam to help me with the problem of Root Double. Hopefully, it will work this time, or I might need to get a refund... which I really would rather not. I hate to miss out on something popular that everyone else has enjoyed. Makes me feel left out. Which is also why I tried so hard to get Fate/hollow ataraxia to work on my computer.

  15. Looks like that reinstallation of my OS caused more problems than it solved. Can't run Root Double now because of some DLL error.

Honestly, I'm sick of this. My computer is 6 years old, so I think it's time for a replacement. So many late nights fixing bugs and whatnot. Forget it.

Money is tight, but that might not be a problem by 8th December, assuming that my computer gets a good deal. Might be able to purchase a decent gaming PC.

Yes, a computer riddled with bugs normally can't fetch a good deal. But the thing of it is... my computer is an iMac. A 27-inch late 2012 iMac, to be exact. I'm running Windows using Boot Camp. So, I'm essentially selling the Mac side of the computer, not the Windows add-on. The Mac OS is functioning properly without bugs. It has a 1TB storage with 8GB ram. Should fetch me at the very least... $200.

  16. Yumiko's route isn't that bad. It's funny with the humorous teasing by her classmates, and it's even better than Michiru's route because she's at least not an idiot in her own route. Sigh, Michiru... So in the end, the only one to not have grown out of this is the twin-tail blonde ditz.

  17. Oh good. The English translation for the Memorial Edition of Tomoyo After has been released. The R18 version scarred me so much I pretty much dropped the VN entirely. It utterly destroyed my perspective of Tomoyo...

  18. Pretty much added all that gay content (AKA "Le Volume sur" series) on my wishlist. The reviews look good, and it looks like there's plenty of bad ends to be found, so it's not just a linear read-through. Mhm, me like. Good story and good gameplay.

On a side note... Innocent Grey? More like Innocent Gay. amirite? I'll show myself out...

  19. The artstyle of "Flowers -Le Volume sur Printemps-" reminds me of "Hourou Musuko," which coincidentally also deals with LGBTQ issues. lol Hourou Musuko was an emotional masterpiece, even though I have little to no relations with LGBTQ myself. Guess I'll put Flowers on my wishlist.

  20. Just realized that Kara no Shoujo has a HD remaster coming up. Sigh.

It's one of those VNs where you want to read, but then realize that there's a better remake coming up, just like Chaos;Head Noah.

Kinda late to put off reading KnS now though. I've almost completed Cartagra. And besides, looks like the remaster won't be coming out 'till 2019. Though I guess Chaos;Head Noah's translation won't be coming out 'till 2020 at the earliest anyway...

  21. >epic speech to send off soldiers on a suicide mission
    >energetic pop song comes along
    >CARRY ON, MY WAY!!!

  22. It's finally over. My longest VN read, ever, Umineko no Naku Koro ni, has come to an end with Chiru's final episode.

    <Have a nice day. See you again.>

    <Till Something Else Cries again.>

  23. Nitro+ vs. Type Moon, SciADV vs. Nasuverse. Which one is better?

Oh, I forgot to mention Ryukishi07-verse!

  24. Man, episode 12 of Steins;Gate still shocks me how well done it is. The VN's alright, but the gunfire sounded a lot better with blu-ray quality in the anime, and of course, the tight pacing of that short scene made the realization of what the heck just happened much more impactful.

  25. Rewatching Steins;Gate as I'm playing the VN. Realized that the anime has a tighter pacing, as opposed to the VN's verbosity/infodump. It might just be one of the few anime out there (aside from Clannad and Kanon 2006) that surpasses its VN source. Just about everything was done better than the VN, including putting "Skyclad Observer" at the end of the story rather than as the opening.

Of course, there are some changes the anime made that I felt were unnecessary, but they're really more like minor changes and nitpicks than real criticisms. There's also a lack of multiple endings, which made the VN more interesting as I was able to change the fate of Okabe myself. That's an advantage most VNs with choices have over their anime counterparts unfortunately - the power of choice. And of course, the anime couldn't adapt the very fun and interesting emails. Aside from the ones that require you to respond to earn the achievements, the other non-obligatory emails were still amusing enough to read, as are Okabe's replies to them. That's unfortunately one very fun part of the game the anime couldn't adapt. Wish they could've made a special section at the end of each episode for the emails though, like, "Okabe Replies to His Lab Mems!" or something.

Anyway, I'm reaching the end of Chapter 5 soon... It's almost that mood whiplash moment where everything is about to change for Okabe's carefree life... Mwahahaha. That's the real choice of Steins;Gate. El. Psy. Kongroo.
