Okay, people who are interested in reading this @Plk_Lesiak and @Mr Poltroon! I know that VNR can be a pain in the ass sometimes with its server and all that, but never fear! I managed to put everything to work in offline mode. That means you'll not need to access VNR's horrible server at all and read in peace. So if you're having trouble, here's what I did:
    1) Download VNR, any working version should be fine.
    2) Put this file in the following folder inside VNR: Cache/Subtitles/xml. It's the subtitle file for this game's free version that I downloaded and retrieved. And that folder is for offline subs.
    3) Make VNR hook the game, but turn off your internet connection during that if you're using the latest version! Otherwise it could overwrite my file with an empty one. A message saying that it found 3900 or so comments should appear in the top right of the screen (that's approximately the number of lines in this game, way less than this is not a good sign)
    4) Enjoy!

Thank you so much. I never knew the paid version was accessory more than anything. I've been putting this story that I know I'd love with all my being on the back-burner because I was convinced the free version would be the inferior experience and that it might be worth it to stay my hand in hopes of it one day being completed.
    Thank you.

    A typical comyu H-scene.

Random Girl : Oh Akihito! this street is quite cool, i like strolling in the open field.
    10 seconds later
Random Girl : OH AKIHITO!! YOUR!!

Well you lnow the rest, as for the rest, reading your contribution is still interesting, i'm not into BL, Otome sure, but not that much interested in BL, but you make it feel interesting and accessible for everyone, which is cool.

Thank you for putting it in list form reading Cracked articles from back in the day has conditioned me to only be able to read anything that way
I think a lot of these problems are present in other types of visual novels as well
Yuri vn's, manga, and anime mostly seem to occur in a world that has either killed off it's male population or sentenced women to a lifetime of sex segregation.
In hetero vn's we hardly ever get to see the dudes face during the sex scene the most we can get is some disembodied male torso. The few times we do get to see the dudes face it looks like he has had his eyeballs removed and sewn shut.
As a side note I was legitimately shocked when I read a yuri manga called Prism that actually had a side character who was bisexual
Condoms just don't exist in Japan Maggie, along with STDs and unwanted pregnancies

OK... So, from the lack of ideas for a more substantive comment... Where's that pic from (the "everyone's bi" one)?

The game is Fukai ni Nemuru Oujo no Abaddon. Yeah, I'll keep praising this game in the forums forever, because it's the one true bi game I needed! Party have six characters, all of them are bi.

As someone who also played DMMD and TnC, the only one I truly agrees is Motomi. Koujaku only "played around with girls" as he and even Aoba said, he didn't really cared for them. I think the same can be said for Noiz, he didn't cared for anyone at all before. As for Mink and Mizuki, I can't remember them ever as much as mentioning girls, is it a fandisc/light novel/drama CD thing?

Yeah it's definitely worth taking your time and really enjoying it. Well for me I appreciate that there are VN's that treat gay relationships the way that straight relationships are treated. Like no big deal. Actually, a lot of yuri stuff deal with a overflow of uncertainty. I don't know how many times I've heard the lines "I can't love kiss/fall in love with a girl." If you want something Yuri that deals with rl social stigma I would check out the manga Prism by Higashiyama Shou.

Unfortunately I didn't quite interested with shounen ai drama CD for very obvious reason here, but at least I remember Fata Morgana drama CD. One of the reason of why I'm suddenly interested with Fata Morgana back at 2016 from being skeptic is the drama CD itself, which contain some good name like Soichiro Hoshi, Sakurai Takahiro, Kenichi Suzumura, and Suwabe Junichi - the female side also have good name as well like Yui Horie, Koshimizu Ami, and Asumi Kana.
As for the seiyuu themselves, one of famous female VN seiyuu would be Kawashima Rino and her voice was recognizeable enough because she have many roles. Taguchi Hiroko was also the one that I could recognize, and I'm pretty interested with Fujisaki Usa. For more seiyuu, Sawashiro Miyuki and Yuki Kaida did good job at Go Princess Pretty Cure, especially the later. For the last one, there's Yukari Tamura in which I started to recognize her tone after heard her as Bern in Umineko. For male seiyuu, I think Shiichiro Miki did the good job as Roy Mustang from Brotherhood. So does with Fujiwara Keiji, in which he usually did have some take it easy tone.
For more reference, you may check Pygmalion because it have Hanakana or Kara no Shoujo 2 because it have Suwabe Junichi as Reiji. Or if you want to watch those two at the same time, then Go Princess Pretty Cure movie should be a good choice (Maybe you already watch that though). As for why many actor use pseudonym when voiced BL, I think it's more or less unwritten rules that they shouldn't use their real name when voicing a porn, because if they use real name the they gonna face the risk of having a hard time like be fired and have their reputation fallen. So the seiyuu use pseudonym to avoid that risk.
I think that's all that I could write for now.

Good review! My impressions of this game quite match yours! Except my favorite is Asuka or Sakuya, hard to decide!
Hmmmm, yeah, I think it's changing a bit. Slooooowly, but it's a bit better than it was some years back. In VN not so much, but in manga the difference is clearly there. Uncertainty is pretty common nowadays (a bit too much in fact, characters have way too much of a hard time to admit it sometimes, even to their love interest damn), but social stigma is a bit less used. And maybe I'm too soft, but I kinda likes when it's as natural as in Nurse Love? I just want my girls to be happy with no judging eyes, it's unrealistic but one can dream right?

This game is so good. It blew my mind when I read it. I was really only expecting cute nurses doing cute things, but... It's not what it seems. Such a good, and accurate, quote.

Good article the drama cd I really wished had some kind of translation was the one from G-Senjou https://vgmdb.net/album/11548
Maybe someday if I actually learn the language I will finally be able to hear what the hell its about. Kindred spirits on the roof actually has several drama cds made and I'll probably have to listen to them all. Though I am normally okay with playing vn's that are unvoiced I always feel like there is a bit missing I'm looking at you Enigma.
Also it's a shame that Omerta isn't translated because that actually looks really cool. (I still love anything mafia related)

Hahahahahahaha I just said I don't remember many female seiyuus and you had to bring up the one that I always remember and love  Kana Hanaaaaaa! <3 But yeah, the first one is the best one!

Oooohhh, I think it's a huge issue with all seiyuus - it's hard to express how happy I am when the female cast sounds like actual human beings in a JP VN or anime series. This goes to singing too, you can just contrast Kana Hanazawa singing with a somewhat natural voice and Kana Hanazawa impersonating a mouse. With all respect to all those liking Renai Circulation, I definitely prefer VAs not overdoing stuff.

Any discussion is welcome!   But yeah, I also love the ones that can sing too! But with male actors (maybe with female ones too, but I don't remember a whole lot of them, easy to imagine why XD) there's some problems that... I think sometimes they edit too much their singing for them to appear younger and more "ikemen-like" if that makes sense. Let the dudes be more natural, I surely love when they sound more mature! Most of my favorites are beyond 30s or even 40s, they don't need to sound like teenagers...

I know it's slightly beside the point, but it's also mentioned in a way when it comes to character CDs...
I'm always amazed by how many seiyuus are also competent singers. I don't get obsessed with voice actors (well, especially male ones, it's easy to imagine why), but a voice actress that's good at her main job and sings well will usually get me (moderately) excited. I guess I have a thing for people with multiple talents, probably because of how much I lack any artistic abilities whatsoever...

Overall, a decent review, though there are parts I disagree with, naturally. As already pointed out, the pink blood fits in with the theme of the game a lot better than "real" blood would have. Its kind of an inherently... "silly" game, in a sense. There are plenty of serious times in the story, but it all happens in the context of a very alien world. I also don't think its bad to leave things unexplained in a story like this. Lots of stories, VNs and stories in other mediums alike, try unnecessarily hard to try and explain everything, even when that's not entirely desirable for the type of story it is, or when it gets in the way of actually telling the story itself.
Of course, there was a sort of earlier iteration for this game, called Distrust*, that would have been a lot more gruesome (apparently, it was scrapped because it was TOO gruesome). It was essentially the same game, but it had things like red blood and such. If this form of the game was the one the was ultimately released, then the theme would have been quite different. Perhaps not for the worse, and I think it would be kind of interesting if someone released an attempt at making that a full game, if for no other reason than to contrast the experience with Danganronpa.
*There's a page on this on the Danganronpa wikia. Search something like "Danganronpa Beta" in your favorite search engine to find it, if you wanna read some details on it.

I think tachi and neko are more common for yuri, it's mentioned in Kindred Spirits actually kek. That said I personally don't like the whole power thing and would like couples to be more equal...
  23. Thanks
MaggieROBOT reacted to Plk_Lesiak in BL terms and their use in the west
Well, I simply think this term is used in a way that makes it lose any real meaning - it's better to simply avoid it unless for really clear-cut cases (that is, when you have an erotic plot with an adult and a pre-puberty child, like this SonoHana game for example). A romance between an adult and an older teenager might be "illegal" by our standards but doesn't have to appeal to pedophiles or be targeted towards them. And not every case of child rape or child molestation is connected to pedophilia whatsoever. So, when you use this term for broad generalizations, you'll more likely than not miss the point - it's not criticism, as I see it done everywhere and it's hard to really see through the misconception unless you deal with the topic in some more or less systematic ways (as both my master's thesis and my PhD project are primarily in porn studies, the discussion about pedophilia and child porn is something I've gone through dozens of times).

Since you want, seme and uke comes from martial arts terms, taken from the verbs "to attack" and "to receive". Seke is just a portmanteau, to describe a character that goes both roles.

Hey, thanks for the input! I really... struggled with this word while writing, should I use, should I not? Like I said, I never saw a manga that with huge age gaps in yuri, so I didn't even have an example to check. I have limited knowledge in the field, so if you think it was inappropriate, please do tell me!
