  1. Naming your game seems like a hard thing to do... Oh, and one rule: don't judge anyone's search! They surely had reasons! I think... If this was yahoo answer, this would be full of "am i pregnant/pegnant/pregant/prangent/gregnant" Okay, I'll start. "prestressed concrete regulations" ................Seems like a VN/ fighting game hybrid by French Bread or a battle chuunige...
  2. Wow, your novel have some nice and fresh ideas! Seems very good and the art is beautiful! I liked how we have both young and older love interests and how the choices seems to REALLY matter. My favorites for now are the twins! And also, I have some questions too. Is that okay? Each twin have his own route or it's one for both? Is there something like a "true route"? What'll be the language of the voice acting? Is this a commercial or non-commercial novel? Thanks!
  3. VNR actually changed servers, I made a thread about it: https://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/17714-vnr-is-back-online/ But that problem doesn't seem to be related with the server, seems to be a configuration problem... More on it here and here.
  4. Well, the people that told me that aren't that normal, so maybe that's it. And yeah, I was thinking comparatively. I admit that euphoria is bad, but if euphoria is a 10 in the scale, things like Starless and Maggot Baits are a 1000000. So it doesn't sound so bad, if that makes sense. But I heard that this was true for euphoria only in the first half of the routes, and the true route kinda shifts genre? Of course, even like this, people that got turned off in the first half will not keep playing to see the difference (like me).
  5. Actually, from what I heard, euphoria is not as extreme as people say. Guys exaggerate a lot (like Saya no Uta, some people say is the most fucked up thing around, and yeah, not even close). Now, if someone recommends you Maggot Baits (also from CLOCKUP), run in the opposite direction. Even insensitive people run away from this one!
  6. 1) Try the other options in the Text thread part of this window OR 2) Try the other options where you can see "Japonês (CP932, Shift-JIS)". Choose UTF 16 or UTF 8.
  7. MAN DOWN, MAN DOWN!!!! What Okarin-senpai said is the golden rule, play the H scenes when you're fully alone, it's better for your heart. Even when the game is not in euphoria's level I always get embarassed when someone is walking around in the house ...Unless the other person is as strange as you . I didn't played euphoria, I'm just not into this, but my younger sister did. She tried to hide, but eventually she herself told me. Now that I know her true colors, she keeps suggesting strange games to me without a shame. What a lovely family we are.
  8. Yay, congrats!!!! *High speed clapping, just to be different* Glad you survived uni, and I hope your journey will be even better from now on! By the end of the year, I hope I'll be celebrating graduation just like you, wish me luck... And paying almost nothing surely is good #NotUSAorCanadaToo
  9. Well, all dating sims I know are VNs, but not all VNs are dating sims. Far, VERY FAR from that. You said you were looking for VNs, which includes, well, games with actual plot besides romance or simple slice of life stuff with self insert MCs. .........Careful though, if you say that again somewhere else, someone might kill you. People are easily triggered...
  10. The only things that came to mind that fits are dating simulators or otomes, but I don't know if you're into these... This thing though, Go! Go! Nippon! ~My First Trip to Japan~, seems to fit too.
  11. Have you tried to change the text encoding? The option is in this same window.
  12. Why there's an option for Tsukihime in worst best trainwreck anime? There's no Tsukihime anime.
  13. Done! Btw, BL novels will be grouped with the otome ones? (Not that are many BL novels in this list...). I think it should.
  14. I'm reading it right now and, in my opinion, the first half and the second half needs different scores. The first half is so slow and it's mostly slice of life comedy (mostly unfunny). The second half, where the plot finally picks up, is pretty good. You need patience to get there, but it eventually pays off. The route order is enforced in the first half too, something I didn't like. And the translation really tires you out. The game is full of kanji puns, and the translators made sure you'll know where they all were. There's an option to turn off translation notes, so do it (something I regret not doing)! And for some recommendation, since I don't know what you already played, how about Saya no Uta, Sekien no Inganock, Remember11, Umineko or Euphoria?
  15. How about this girl? Hasekura Youko, she is cool, indiferent to everyone except MC, so he's the only one that talks to her most of the time. And she is like a ninja, people barely see her in the school. Cross Channel isn't the most serious and mature VN around (the first half is kinda annoying actually), but the second half is way better. And it have a lot of drama. And maybe these girls from Comyu qualifies too: Hinaori Kagome (she's cold and arrogant and only have eyes for MC. The others interact with her, but she only looks down on them) and Soejima Hisoka (emotionless and reserved, other people find her weird so she's always alone). Comyu is even less mature and serious than Cross Channel, but you should give it a try if you like chuuniges.
  16. First of all, are you using this version? https://yadi.sk/d/74MBTdEo3J3yv2 This is the only one right now that connects.
  17. Actually, VNR never recognize emulated visual novels as games, only as "emulator.exe". So, nothing we can do to change that. And about the text, play the game until you reach some dialogue, then in the menu in the left side of the novel, click menu then text settings and check what box is marked as "dialog". If it is one that only contain character names, mark the one with the right text with "dialog" and the rest as "ignore". Also, check the second option in the top of this window "Eliminate infinite repetition..." or the third option "Ignore infinite cyclic repetition", and then save the changes in the blue "SAVE" button in the top left to erase those repetitions.
  18. VNR is back online guys, more about it here: https://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/17714-vnr-is-back-online/ Buuut it's always nice to have a backup plan. Who knows when it will go offline again. So, I looked at this gamedict.xml (Thank you @Codesterz for the tips!) and I figured out more stuff! For userId, you can use the number "4". I think that is the Id for guest, so you will not put it under another person's ID. special is marked as true when the term is a "series specific" term. And for gameId, you can check it in the VNR dict. Even if it's not working/connected, the unsaved entry will be there, along with your gameId. Just copy it and put in the code! But seriously, I hope we don't need to do this anymore! XD
  19. VNR now have a new server, so it's fully functional again!!!! Here's some instructions: - Go here http://vnr.aniclan.com/ and make a new account if you want to upload subs and terms (I think it works better logged in than as a guest). You can synch it with your old sakuradite account so you can keep your language preferences and things uploaded. - After that, you can upload your subtitles files stored in VNRfolder/Cache/Subtitles/xml/(important!) and upload the terms dict (if you didn't add anything private, you can skip this). Since it is a new server, it's pretty much empty until someone adds something into it. - The VNR compatible with the new server can be downloaded here: http://vnr.aniclan.com/upload/Visual_Novel_Reader(EN).rar (latest version) - You have to add all games with the wizard for it to recognize. However, if you didn't delete your old VNR, it will open with all your games already in the springboard. - Just one time while I was testing it ramdomly crashed, so it seems to be a stable version. Have fun, people! UPDATE: Based on people's questions: - Want to login in aniclan? Use your new name and password. Want to login in VNR? Use your sakuradite name and password. (For now, Dangetsu may change it in the futute) - Can you read logged as guest? Yes, you can. Can you add things in the shared dictionary logged as guest? I don't think so (Never worked for me, needs more testing) - VNR says it's a unknown game? You'll need to manually select the right text thread before you can use it. After that, it will work normally. Usually, the default option isn't UTF16, so if no subs are showing, select UTF16 right away! (UTF16 is the most common, but if it doesn't work, try UTF8)
  20. Oh, this is kinda easy to fix (if this is what I think it is)! If it is a normal PC game, then select UTF-16 in the text encoding option (in the menu in the left side of the novel, click menu then text settings). All the novels that I played with VNR until now were encoded in UTF-16, but VNR back in the working days select it automatically. Now you have to select it yourself. If UTF-16 doesn't work, try UTF-8. And if this is a emulated PSP or PS2 game, check if the game is compatible with VNR. And if the emulator is compatible. I noticed that the newer versions of PPSSPP (for PSP), I think anything after 1.1.0, doesn't work properly with VNR, so you can try a different version. Then select UTF-16 like I said before. And some notes, I'm reeeeeeeealy busy in rl lately, so I didn't start with the files yet... I'm planning to giving it a go this weekend.
  21. Ooooh, I love old things too, and new things looking all retro. I love playing RPGs, and I find it so charming when they look like the original Final Fantasy or original Dragon Quest! That eventually made me go deeper in the abyss looking for RPG Maker games, since some of those indie producers do an awesome job recreating that old magic! Fukai ni Nemuru Oujo no Abaddon is an example. The entire game, from graphics to soundtrack, looks like something made for Famicon, but it was released in 2014! It really is awesome if you like horror stuff!
  22. If there's no file, try downloading it manually from here http://ftp.usf.edu/pub/ftp.monash.edu.au/pub/nihongo/edict2u.gz extract and put it there yourself.
  23. I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but what about Tsukihime? MC has the power to see "death lines" on things and people. And it was translated!
