  1. It is really close indeed! Out of curiosity, what happens if both of the games end up tied?
  2. WOOHOO!! As a huge Chaos;Head fan, I am super excited about this! Definitely getting my hands on the Vita version day 1! Chaos;Child is a sequel to Chaos;Head, not a prequel. It takes place six years after the events of Chaos;Head and I have seen some references to Chaos;Head like all of the New Gen incidents for example. I heard anything needed to understand Chaos;Child is explained in the game though, so it should be okay.
  3. I ended up voting for Chrono Clock since I've been interested in reading that since it came out a few months ago. I'd also love to read Ever17, but sadly I wouldn't be able to afford the English copy right now. =(
  4. I finally got around to reading Riho's route and completing Deardrops! I'm sadly finishing this WAY later than I wanted to due to numerous things getting in the way (health issues, my wedding/honeymoon this month, and then my tablet with the game deciding to start having fits when trying to play the game right near the end of Riho's route...I was really worried I wasn't able to see the end but managed to get it to hang in there just long enough to finish), but I did it! I'm really glad I listened to everyone's advice and read Riho's route last since it was much, much better than any of the other routes. I can understand all of the jokes about her route also being Gonda's route as well, although I'm definitely glad to see there was a route that went more in-depth with Gonda after not seeing that in the common route. I also really liked that the game forced you to read at a certain pace during the concert scenes. I tend to read pretty fast, so having the game set the pace helped me slow down and really enjoy the music; thanks to that, the concert scenes were able to have a lot more of an impact on me. I'm a bit sad it's all over since I enjoyed my time with all of the characters and seeing what was going on in their lives. I definitely want to read the fan disc now!
  5. I finished Kanade's route a few days ago and thought it was definitely much better than the Rimu and Yayoi routes since it didn't feel tacked on in comparison to those. I really like how the narration changed frequently between Kanade and Shoichi because I thought it was really interesting to see things from both character's perspectives. I hope to see perspective changes in Riho's route as well; I think it would be cool to see things through Riho's eyes. Some of the drama in this route felt really awkward and strange like Kanade's various reasons for not being able to sing and the Johann stuff, but there were other parts of the route that were really good that made up for some of the awkwardness. My favourite parts of her route was the concert near the end as well as Shoichi playing in the street. I'm hoping to reading/finish Riho's route soon since she is still my favourite heroine so far I'll get to the questions in a bit since I want to think about them for a little while before responding.
  6. I finished Yayoi and Rimu's routes a few days ago. While Yayoi's route was short, I thought it was pretty good! I agree about the one CG near the end being absolutely awesome 9the one with Yayoi in the park with the guitar); I think that is my favourite CG in the game so far! As for Rimu's route, I wasn't a fan of it and was hoping it was going to be better. I definitely think it was disappointing; the drama felt really forced and stupid, and a lot of the route was predicable. I am looking forward to seeing how Kanade's route turns out since I am reading her route next.
  7. I think a game that fits what you are looking for is Fashioning Little Miss Lonesome, which is coming out in English sometime soon thanks to MangaGamer. It's an otome eroge that looks really good, and according to the tags on VNDB, it doesn't have any of the content that you said you don't want in the game.
  8. Finished Edelweiss last week and was really surprised by it. I was expecting those whole thing to be comedy, but some of the routes got really depressing like Haruka's route... :'( She was my favourite character, so going through that one was a bit hard. I think the best routes were Haruka's route and Natsume's route. Mizuki's route was decent, although I think the drama felt a bit forced. Ran's route wasn't bad, but definitely felt like it was the weakest out of all of them. Mei's route was also quite good, but was also pretty sad. Overall, I really loved the game, and I will definitely read the fan disc soon! I am now working on Deardrops for the VN Reading Club, which is a very enjoyable read so far!
  9. Finally started reading Deardrops and just met all of the main characters. So far I think this is a really interesting VN and I am enjoying it a lot! I am finding all of the characters likeable although it took me a while to like some like Gonda; I didn't like him at all when he was introduced, but he has been starting to grow on me as I read more. Out of the girls, I am definitely liking Riho the most. I would try to get her route first, but since it sounds like it is best to do her last, I think I am going to go for Yayoi first.
  10. Very interesting data! Good work! It's cool to be able to see how VNs are changing by looking at all of the graphs, both the Japanese VNs and the OELVNs. I am definitely looking forward to seeing the whole series of posts.
  11. Bit belated, but thank you! I now have Deardrops and will start reading it soon with you guys! I would have gotten it earlier but had to deal with some medical stuff in the past two weeks that was a bit expensive, so I had to hold off getting it for a bit. :/ Also, if anyone hasn't gotten the game yet, it is currently on sale on MangaGamer for half price!
  12. I'm looking forward to the second season of Attack on Titan! I don't tend to watch anime, but I really enjoyed the first season a lot and have been looking forward to the second one for a long time now. I'm excited that it is finally coming out!
  13. False. Next person loves black tea.
  14. I am currently in the middle of reading Edelweiss! I noticed it was on sale during MangaGamer's April Fools Day sale and decided to pick it up since I am currently trying to branch out and try different kind of VNs. It's extremely different than anything that I have read before since it is a romantic comedy eroge (all of the VNs I have head previously were all-ages and either otome games or mystery/trapped VNs). So far, I am really enjoying this game! The beginning was a bit hard to get through since the idiot friends were kind of annoying, but it got better once the main characters were introduced and choices appeared. I think I am at the end of the common route, so I am looking forward to seeing what the character routes have in store for me! =)
  15. Hooray for Deardrops! I definitely want to buy the game soon so I can read it with everyone! I have a quick question though before I buy it: I noticed that the MangaGamer page for Deardrops says the required OS's are "Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7" and my tablet is Windows 8. Will the game still work even though my device is not one of the listed OS? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm new to buying/playing VNs on the PC (most of mine are console), and the game is quite expensive for me; I don't want to pay $55-75+ only to find out it doesn't work.
  16. Yikes! I knew they were extremely rare, but I didn't realize they were that much! Hopefully I will be able to find it and afford it when I do! According to VNDB, there is also a English DS version? Not sure how that works or if it's different from the PC version. Yay for the OST! That song sounds beautiful! I am hoping to play Fata Morgana really soon since it seems right up my alley and I've heard it's an amazing game.
  17. It's alright, I completely understand. It was weird seeing it glitch out (attempted to vote twice since the first time the poll disappeared, and then it showed up later like I never voted in it, chose Kira Kira both times, and then Deardrops shows up as the choice later...it was really strange! XD), but I'm fine with whatever gets chosen in the end. A VN reading club sounds really awesome and I'd like to participate in it!
  18. I tried to vote for Kira Kira, but the poll bugged out and for some reason it looks like my vote registered as Deardrops? O_o Kira Kira sounds the most interesting to me, but Deardrops also seems enjoyable!
  19. Thanks for the welcomes, everyone! No, I haven't read it yet. I really want to read it though! I've heard a lot of good things about Ever17 and the Infinity series in general, but I have never been able to find a copy of any of the games in English. I hope to come across one someday though so I can finally read it! More recommendations would definitely be appreciated! If it helps at all, some other VNs that I've read that I really liked were Danganronpa 1 and 2, Code: Realize, and Everlasting Summer.
  20. Hi everyone! I have been lurking for a while and figured it was about time to sign up. I read my first visual novel several years ago when 999 was released and fell in love with VNs since. I haven't read many VNs yet, but I would like to change that! I think this community is a good place to be to help me with reading a lot more, and I am happy to be here!
