No, they've gone with "bro" and "dudebro" instead of "niisan" this time! Respect the localization process "bro", and fuck literal but accurate translations.

That's very interesting! In contrast to this SPIRAL! thing they released some time ago, this actually 'looks' like Shuffle. Those are clearly Sia and Nerine on the cover page. I guess it certainly helps that the original artists are actually drawing the VN this time and aren't just 'assisting with school uniform design' and leaving the character designs to a loli artist from Da Capo.
Maybe... there is even a chance for my favorite character Ai (my avatar) from the Nerine fan disc to be included.
The list of writers actually looks pretty impressive. They have Ou Jackson and Higashinosuke on board, the main writers of Oretachi and Tsuriotsu which are Navel's most highly regarded works. I hope they'll keep the the two Da Capo writers from messing things up.
That was certainly one of the main reasons it got popular both in Japan and in the west. It's rating isn't high, but there aren't that many VN's with more than 3000 votes on VNDB. Popularity isn't just about a high rating but also about the vote count. Shuffle's main strength was arguably its simplicity, so it's not surprising that the rating isn't high. It's the same with Nekopara - huge popularity and high vote count, but the rating is below 7.
I also appreciate that Shuffle was a somewhat fast-paced moege - in the worst case it at least didn't overstay its welcome. Many moeges nowadays are real slice of life monsters with huge amounts of filler text that unfortunately have the tendency to bore me to death.
Though Shuffle did have an interesting setting, so I think there's also more potential in it than just a simple moege if they want to.

Well, I think the reason why this started is this one word:

And if you are objective about it (@Stormwolf) you must admit that this word might seem a provocation to many. Because there is simply a clear difference between a pedophile (who usually sexually harasses younger people against their will) and a mutual relationship between an older and a younger person who happened to fall in love.

I think this is the message that you actually wanted to get across and that makes the game uninteresting for you and I think no one would have any objections to that.

I agree. This game has some variety in terms of personal preference. Since I don't like old hags in business suits and divorced used goods there is only two possible routes for me. Nothing wrong with it.

I don't know how Damekoi is to read myself but concluding that the VN will be predictible due to one plot point that you have no idea how well they will handle just seem stupid. You seem to be more so the kind of person who judges things based on things such as whether it has a character archetype or a certain type of story element rather than how this character archetype is handled or how the story element is handled. Also Pedo referes to someone into pre pubesant children, not someone into any teen younger than 18, just wanted to correct you there because people seem to throw that word at every VN with a character who looks like she potentially could be under 18 years old.

Yes, this seems like a good description.
When nobody in particular stands out as being a good match or being placed in a position where the protagonist would get close to them, I pick my favourite...ish? Favourite or second favourite.
I often like more than one or two characters, so I can't quite tell who my favourite is beforehand.

As for the general opinion, compared to HatsuKoi there's no much that stated the negative point of Hoshiori other than one review. So if you (Some readers out there) still afraid of HatsuKoi, then rest assure that it'll be fine here although you may find it boring though because of less drama (Just think of HatsuKoi drama if you felt that it's not dramatic enough). While most of Hoshiori's aspects are improved from HatsuKoi, unfortunately there's no more background variation like back at HatsuKoi and there's no much side characters that did have sprites. I say this because as bad as HatsuKoi's reputation is to a degree, at least they did the technical aspect right in that it felt more dynamic with Yuuma facing back and forth with background change. But anyway the good VN shouldn't depend on that kind of gimmick alone, and besides it's just something that I want to point out.
As for the review, there's three with one of those were the one that was quite critical that I mentioned in which it might be understandable seeing that he thinks Touko as Mary Sue. Another one is from MDZ who is Koiresort translator, and another one is quite long and full of spoiler from MAL page (The first part is talk about three heroines (Natsuki, Rikka and Misa), while the second part talk about the rest of the heroines (Sora, Touko, and Marika), and the third part talk about side characters along with the MC and the technical aspects). As for the one who did have the least spoiler, I would recommended MDZ's one if you want to read some review before trying Hoshiori here.
While this is at most a charage, we also have the plot in that our MC Ryousuke was trying to make the best Tanabata festival at his school, and that he want to be an architect after seeing one of the good building in his childhood. While it's pretty cliche, at least the goal is already set up compared to HatsuKoi and that it's quite firm (The bigger scale here is definitely help though). As for the girls, here's all of those below including the seiyuu as usual.
    1. Shinozaki Marika

Also know as Trip's favorite heroine, and Ryousuke's childhood friend before he's going to Kanagawa and transferring back to Shionagi. While her setting is quite basic, the way of the writer showing on how much Ryousuke care for Marika in the past is quite nice to see, especially if we knew that Marika did suffer asthma and causing her to be quite shy at her childhood. Because of her asthma, she decided to learn swimming and as the result nowadays she's quite capable to teach the children to swim. Her seiyuu is Aji Sanma who as we know voiced Mochizuki Rina aka Rinarin from Fureraba, Kuchiki Touko from Kara no Shoujo, Fuuma Tama from Nekonin, Hinai Paulette from Maitetsu, Kihanobara Ethica from Tokyo Necro, Reimei Kaho from Haretaka, and Heroina di Caballero istaa (Still quite mouthful name) from Kirikoi.
    2. Okihara Misa

While she didn't teach swimming like Marika, she's quite capable at swimming because she's been like that since her childhood. Also while you may remember HatsuKoi's Midori from her face, she's not student council president here (We never know whether the president is male or female). Anyway she's took a liking to the ocean a bit too much, and she's a single member of Natural Club in that she'd like to researching marine life. She's the local aquarium owner daughter, Ryousuke's upperclassman, and that she's quite sad knowing that the aforementioned aquarium is closed down. Her seiyuu is Kanau (Real name Ozaki Mami) in which her role is Aritagawa Nio from Loca Love, Aso Kiriri from Tokyo Necro, Mihagino Ayano from Kanobito, Yomise Tokino from Hello Lady, and Amabane Madoka from Love Cube.
    3. Narusawa Rikka

A talented pianist whose her face is resembled Touma Kazusa from WA2, and that she's quite a loner so much that only Natsuki that was manged to talk to her. At least until Ryousuke tried to get close to her in which our Rikka did perceive Ryousuke as the stalker and want to hit on her, which of course Ryousuke did try his best to deny that. After her meeting with Ryousuke, she seemed started to open up, in that she start to be happy around her companion. Her seiyuu is Ryouko Ono (Her alias here (Kitami Rikka) is The Danza to Rikka here) in which she did voicing Tsukiyama Sena back at Noble Works, Mochizuki Amane back at Konosora, Kitajima Kede back at Sono Hanabira franchise, Andou Misaki back at Chrono Clock, Toriumi Alice back at Hapymaher, Riche Eden back at Evenicle, and Akahito Tamamo back at Hello Lady.
    4. Yukimura Touko

Another transfer student beside Ryousuke, and like the cat she's quite whimsical. She's quite skilled at sport, so much that she managed to beat all of the sports club captain club on the first day she come to the each of the clubs. Obviously the club will do anything to recruit Touko, although unfortunately for the clubs Touko find them annoying and she's ask Ryousuke to help her. Other thing to note is that she's like to skip the school and stay in the old school building, and that she can't really operate newer model of smartphone. Her seiyuu is Arisugawa Miyabi in which she voiced Houraisen Runa from Sono Hanabira franchise, Kazato Yoru from Konosora, Mehisha from Soukoku no Arterial, Narumi Sakura from Supipara, Rinka from Suki Suki, Kyougetsu Sakuya from Kajiri Kamui Kagura, and Suzuki Arisa from Japanese School Life.
    5. Ousaka Sora

Sort of the main heroine because her story is related to the star and that Hoshiori here is obviously did have star as the main theme (Translator's Notes: Hoshi means Star). As for her character, she's talk less unless the topic is about star in which she started to become talkative, and that she's like to cut the vegetable in form of space object (ie star and moon). Like Misa, she's also the only member although obviously her club is Astronomy one, and that she's Ryousuke's underclassman. There's more to her, but it'll be at her route later. Her seiyuu is Kirihana in which she voiced Ayachi Nene from Sanoba Witch, Fia from Amayui Castle Meisters, Kodachi Nagi from Daitoshoukan, Lena Lichtenauer from Senren Banka, Mitsukasa Ayase from Riddle Joker, Hachiroku from Maitetsu, and Ikoma Murasaki from Phantom Trigger.
    6. Segawa Natsuki

The first one whose quite close to Ryousuke along with Marika, although his meeting with Natsuki is quite awkward though. Since her first meeing with Ryousuke, we know that she's quite passionate with take a moment into her camera, although I understand though if you may find her annoying like archetypical school journalist club. Her goal is different from the journalist though, in which she want to make the best year book there. Her seiyuu is Momoi Ichigo, in which she voiced Fujikawa Runa from HatsuKoi (The only returning seiyuu from HatsuKoi here), Dorothy Davenport aka DD from Chrono Clock, Lacrille from Madou Koukaku, Tilca from Venus Blood Frontier, and Emilia Karimov from Hatsukoi Sankaime.
As for the songs, like I mentioned this time each heroines did have two songs in which each songs did used at the climax of the heroines route, one for the transition from School Arc to After Story and another to the ending song of the routes. So overall compared to HatsuKoi tone work's did add all of the unique ending songs for all of the heroines, in which it's definitely an improvement compared to HatsuKoi in which back then only two heroines (Runa and Maya) that did have their own unique ED songs.
I think that's all for what I can say in regard of Hoshiori's heroines (Along with the seiyuu) and the review, so feel free to discuss the VN at this thread. As for my concluding word here, I like that finally we have more better received tone work's VN being translated thanks to Tsurezure and therefore I'm content with it.

The way i see it is that they try to make the protagonists way too pure. So pure that he can't show too much interest into girls during the common route, so the actual realization etc feels shoehorned into the vn in the actual routes. Would be good if heroine specific choices during the common route led to romantic interest, or at least proper foreshadowing the confession. Realizing he's suddenly only thinking about her and what she's doing, how he looks and acts around her, trying to impress her in different ways as well. There are loads of things that can be done, but you NEVER see that in vn's.

When he was young, Kyoutarou wanted to read all the magic books in the world, but they were all in the magic library. Someone told him that to get there, he must be kind to everyone and bring happiness to their hearts. He received a bookmark, which was his entrance ticket to the magic library.

One day while heading to school, he received a text from the shepherd (hitsujikai) telling him that his fate was going to change. He had a vision of an accident at the tram station and helped prevent any injuries by calling away a nearby girl. That girl, Tsugumi, later came to the Library Club room, which he was a member of, to thank him and also to ask for his help to make Shiomi Academy more fun. It seemed that she had also received a text from the shepherd, who is rumoured to appear before people who try their best to grant their wishes. One by one, other students also join their group with the shepherd's guidance.

This VN has 5 main heroines and 3 sub heroines... The routes of 4 heroines ( Shirasaki Tsumugi, Sakuraba Tamamo, Misono Senri & Suzuki Kana ) can be played in Any Order.  Kodachi Nagi (True Route) can only be accessed after you've completed at-least one of the above 4 routes). However I would recommend playing Kodachi Nagi last. (True Route choices have a special bookmark indicator)
Each Route has an Appendix scenario which gets unlocked after finishing the respective routes..These scenarios come in the form of an extra H scene..so don't miss out on those..
The Main Menu background can be changed after clearing each route..simply click on the logo to do so..There is a new image for every route cleared.
The other 4 heroines also have True endings that are Branched off from Nagi Route. Consider doing them Last after Nagi Route
Save / Load points have been added for convenience purposes. However, should you find yourself stuck in any situation, it is recommended to complete said route from beginning to end without using any checkpoints. The savepoints follow the order in which the routes appear below.

This VN  is pretty straightforward and has easy choices, most people wont need to use this guide,  However if you get stuck somewhere you can use this guide as a reference. This VN consists of 6 main heroines. The Heroine routes can be played in any order. There are some Touko route spoilers in Rikka route.
Save / Load point system will be implemented in this walkthrough for convenience purposes.
It is also worth noting that once you clear a route, it can be played directly from the route selection screen that appears after clearing any route (this route selection screen appears when you start a new game from the main menu).
When you're asked to enter Name on the Check in sheet..  Note that the default name ( Hino Ryousuke ) is voiced by all the characters in the game. Any other name you choose will not be voiced. so it is recommended that you use the default character name

Swim Swim reacted to syfjhz22 in Sekai Project sets a new low standard
China has a long history of VN fan translation, and a fairly big market for official releases. In the past two years, there are quite a few Chinese translation companies releasing on steam and achieving good sales figures, so I'm not surprised to see companies like Sekai trying to capture a share of this market. What I am surprised to see is how they actually do it.
Yesterday Sekai released "WAGAMAMA HIGH SPEC" Chinese translation. To our surpise, it's 100% identical to fan translated patch, even the mistakes like misspelled words.
It's very well known in Chinese VN community that this translation involves a scandal. The original translation team gave up the project, then picked up by a second translation group. It was planned for release using the name of both groups, but the original team leader stole the translation then released the game using original team name just before the second group released the final version. Basically, he personally didn't translate anything but claiming he did everything... Since it's not a monetised issue, the two version translation is just a joke about how messy fan translations nowdays among Chinese VN community.
What really surpised me is that this guy sold "his" translation to Sekai Project, and Sekai didn't perform any kind of due diligence before buying the translation. Until people buying the game suddenly realised idential translation, then we know what actually happened.
Fan translation is always a grey area. Is this copyright infringement? Probably not, but it is really hurting Chinese VN translation community when a large company like Sekai blindly buying translation and earning money, while the real translators get nothing in return.

For me, euphoria was ultimately a let-down. Yes, I still gave it 8/10, but if I were to compare it to my most favorite dark visual novel (Bible Black), it's definitely below 8/10, at least in the story department. For what it is, it has some amazing production values, and the ideas presented within it were all very interesting to me. However, at the end, euphoria felt like it was rushed in all second halfs of all heroines' routes, and I couldn't really take the plot seriously anymore. Half of the routes felt like a joke, and the other half unfinished/rushed. At the very end, I found euphoria to be a very good nukige, but sadly, a let-down in terms of plot and development of characters. As a huge fan of dark visual novels, I enjoyed euphoria a lot, despite its flaws. The biggest disappointment to me was the final conclusion. The idea was there. I loved what they tried to pull off. But sadly... no, there's just no delivery. Amazing idea, but ultimately a botched attempt at delivering it. They could have done it so so much better, yet they failed. Euphoria could have been more than just a nukige, but sadly, for me it only ended up being a good nukige with an attempt at having a plot. I am hoping Maggot Baits will be better... and that new VN coming out which gives me great vibes (Dead Days).

I'm a bit on the line with this one - I think the death game parts are mostly really good, thanks to the dynamic between the characters and Nemu is a great central character for a few reasons. I didn't enjoy most of the h-scenes, but in a way, I appreciate the variety and creativity involved.
I find the later parts of the story a bit of an indefensible mess. Not that they're completely not fun to read through, but they're IMHO intensely dumb and over-the-top. From this point of view, I probably have the more fond memories of those shorter routes, that left most of the questions unanswered - I don't mind unsolved mystery, especially if the answers authors have in mind are this broken.
