I'm...not even sure how to process this information. Trip bulldozed through the last 30% of that route like it was his plaything, finishing it in just over 2 weeks, release included. I understand why Maki's route left him salty, but all-in-all it was still an enjoyable VN. They are the gods of the English VN world right now.

We have surprise update, and yes they finally release Renna's patch. Congratulation for the release, and if you want to get the patch, here's the link at Tsurezure's site. You can also read Trip's thought in regard of translating this here, and not surprisingly he still bitter about Maki's route. Well have fun in regard of Tsujidou, and once again don't expect too much of Majikoi here.
PS - For the next plan, they'll take a bit of hiatus before going on HatsuKoi append disk.

I would like to see less situations where locking into a heroine's route means the complete removal off all the other heroines from the game for the duration of that route. The stories can be unique while still involving all of the characters...it would also make the routes for less-liked heroines more enjoyable imo because you'd still get unique interactions with the heroine(s) you are a fan of.

I'd also like less VNs that end right when you end up becoming intimate with a heroine. Less of, "we love each other, let's have sex, the end" situations and more VNs that go into what happens in later stages of relationships beyond when you start dating.

Oh...less moege high school VNs in general...for the love of god

I answered the question earlier in this thread.
While the situation with the interface is a lot different today (new people and it's partially translated), the part about spoiling the story still stand.

Regarding injecting the translation, it does work and while I have fixed most issues, it's still not glitch free. I prefer to play it safe and injecting translated text was my first task before doing anything else at all. When switching to the HD version, the first thing I did was to make sure I could control the text ingame. I did that even before transferring the already translated text. It wouldn't be fun to finish the translation and then discover the VN engine refuse new text.

Okay, it's the first of the month (for a sufficiently large value of 'first of the month').  Time for an update!
About 4400 lines were transledited in a month.  I decided to change things up a bit and focus on character routes for awhile.  Makes a nice change of pace from working on the main story, and I'm quite a bit farther in the main story than in the side routes; the main story is about 63% done, where the side routes are about 35% done.

Yeah, we did ... Doesn't hurt to go back to it from time to time just to make sure I made the right choice ...
The reason I went with "directness" specifically is because it seemed to be one of the more often used variants of the particular phrase. Actually, I saw it here and even in the example they used the word "directness". All these words are synonyms of each other (with a slightly different nuance for each): "directness", "frankness", "bluntness", "pushiness", "forwardness", "openness"... But yeah, essentially the example you gave also has the same connotation/meaning.
Now, the last modification I'd make to it is to switch from Passive Voice to Active one. That's what the option 2) is supposed to be. Your example is also in the Active Voice: "Her directness caught me off guard."... So I might go with your example at the end, if I don't hear any other better suggestion ... Thanks

Going from just the English, "Her pushiness/forwardness/bluntness caught me off guard." Sounds a bit better to me. Not a big fan of directness as I can't remember when someone last used it here. It sounds OK if you want to keep it though. All have relatively the same meaning

Yep, TLC is actually at 100% and is all incorporated. There's still some script work I need to do: some sections, totaling about 20% of the game, still need a fairly quick second-pass edit. We've also had a hard time with image editors bailing on us, so that still needs to be done. And then yes, there's still engine work pending, and then QC. So... yeah. Progress is good, but still things to do.

Actually surprised I haven't come across more that were actually "Milfs" being mothers of protag or other heroines.

    Hello everyone,
as I mentioned few times already our group (re)started the TL project on "Pure Pure: The story of ears and tails" after FOTS translations abandoned this project (got in touch with the head of the project, unfortunately he had to stop because he has too many real life issues...)
This novel is really old one (published ~2004) so many of you won't know what is it about but people who were in touch with FOTS will know. =)
I will post time to time in this topic but for people who are interested in this novel we created a simple FB page.
I hope there is still someone who is looking forward to this novel, because this one has caught me so hard I decided to found a group and finish it. =)
Me and Sachi wish you the best

I was one of the many who jumped on your beta patch of To Heart 2 who then also read through your full patch when it was released as well. I can say that the Beta patch did not stop myself from wanting to read your full release, nor did it make me judge To Heart 2 poorly because what I had originally read. I do think there is an essence of time involved as well. If I remember correctly, there was quite some time between the beta patch and full patch of To Heart 2. In situations like this where there is going to be a long lapse between said beta patch and the full release, I don't think there is much to lose by releasing the unfinished patch.
Now if the full patch would be ready in 6-ish months or so, it is definitely not worth it. But when talking years in some cases, a beta patch can help tide people over. And frankly, it would be like experiencing the VN anew once the full patch comes out because of the time between. Situational for sure, but as Astro has implied, this could be quite the long haul if no help is brought in before we do, eventually, get a full patch of Clover Days, this might be worth exploring. I feel that this holds true for all fan-TLs, not just this specific case. The downside of course is peoples' impressions of your quality of work, but if a patch is labeled beta and it's said that the patch is an unedited, non TLC version and people still complain about the quality, their opinions probably aren't worth much in the first place.
    Just my 2 cents.

Got a little curious, so I decided to crunch some numbers about the h-scenes in SKM.  Shoku has 27, Gi has 23, and Go has 16, for a grand total of 66 scenes taking up 36999 lines of text.  This includes the non-h-scene buildup to the sex scene itself; I estimate about 2/3 of that total is actual h-scene material, or about 24600-ish lines.  This represents somewhere between 21-25% (or so) of the game's text.  (And yeah, Go really gets gimped.  It's a pretty short route.)

We had lots of progress on the TL side until about a week ago, when the translator had a work commitment come up for a little while, but that should resume in a week or so. As things stand, that probably means the TL will be done in less than a month. Edit is progressing a bit slower, but it's on track to reach 100% in about a month as well.

    Edit: 38325/40208 (95.3%)
Given that we're really seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, we've started working on the endgame tasks as well (and by "we" I mostly mean our fearless programmer).
Linebreaking is solved now, but we're still not happy with the way the text rendering engine looks for English text, so that's looking at a complete overhaul. If we pull that off, that'll also let us do things like full Unicode support, meaning proper naïve cafés and whatnot (seems to be all the rage these days), and also improvements like italics (which I solemnly swear not to overuse; I'll mostly just be replacing the very few places where I've resorted to using all-caps words for emphasis). Image editing has started, which has two areas (one requiring a lot more focus and ability than the other): System menus and UI elements are somewhat done (many of them completed for the trial release ages ago), and are a more manageable project to begin with. Our same fearless programmer is tackling these. We're also translating text in background images and CGs, which is mostly a lot of signs. It should be a pretty sweet experience when we're done, since some of the more prominent backgrounds have text which dovetails with important elements of the plot. For this work, I'd roughly estimate we've translated about 80% of the image text (with millions of thanks to our translator who squinted at itty bitty blurry text and translated it). And for actual image work, with thanks to the Musumaker project sharing their wealth of two image editors, and with thanks to the image editor themself, we've started the work of localizing the background image text, of which we have one background image completed (out of really not that many images overall; I want to say 5 distinct background scenes with text, some of them with extra versions for lighting changes based on time of day, and four CGs with text, each of which is a lot less text than the backgrounds). We've also got another translator on board to read through the script briefly and give it one final check (the same one wrapping up the Hijiri route). I don't expect that additional check work or applying the results of it to add any time to our schedule beyond what we'd need for doing the remaining technical and image work. Once all those changes are applied, images are ready, and the technical elements of the patch are done (remaining work is mostly on text layout), we'll be ready for a final QC pass and then release. I still don't want to speculate on a release time frame, but I will say that the end is finally in sight, and I'm looking forward to sharing all our hard work with you all when we're finally ready.

Okay, everything that has been edited is now properly accounted for in the tools.  Here is the current project status (all of these are edited percentages):
    Total edited: 5609/108888  (5.2%)
    Shoku route: 2860/41882  (6.8%)
    Gi route: 1390/38852 (3.6%)
    Go route: 1358/25983 (5.2%)
    Kan route: 1/2171  (basically 0%)
Over the course of my time on this project I transitioned, basically, from translating the remaining h-scenes into being a transleditor.  Nobody else was willing to do it, and the script needs some serious whipping into shape.  Also, I was much more haphazard in my editing before.  I would simply edit parts of files that clearly needed it as I happened to stumble across them.  This is reflected in the editing percentages, which are haphazard and show a lot of minor work mostly spread across the whole project, while a few files were very heavily edited.  For example, the majority of what is "edited" in Go happens to be the parts of Non's h-scenes that I translated (which mostly required only minor touching up).
Then the tools were ready.  And with the tools came nice stats.  With the stats, a good look at the state of the script.  I hadn't realized exactly how big the script was.  It's more than a hundred thousand lines! No, I'm not going anywhere.  Don't panic.  (And put this fish in your ear.  Trust me.)
But it does mean a change in approach.  As many of you probably know, the game is split into three routes (and one final bonus route, Kan), one for each of the three factions Shoku, Gi, and Go.  From now on, we are doing one route at a time.  First up is Shoku.  It's the longest, and it's the one our translator has decided to focus on finishing the h-scenes for.
This doesn't really mean much. The editing percentages for other routes just won't move for awhile.  No, it's not your imagination.  Yes, it's on purpose.
