    SO much...
I would recommend you finish the Grisaia Trilogy for sure with Meikyuu https://vndb.org/v7723 and Rakuen https://vndb.org/v7724.
Majikoi is a must-read for most people. Hilariously awesome series. https://vndb.org/v1143
Tsujidou-san no Jun'ai Road is by the same makers as Majikoi, another solid read. https://vndb.org/v9879
Fureraba was a surprisingly fun VN that was recently released. Solid read. https://vndb.org/v11856
I mean with how small your list is, there's just too much to possibly rec. Good places to start tho.

Yes I've been busy beavering away at the main school translation. I should make it clear that's the common part of the main school route. The bulk of the translation is unique heroine path text, and that's what's not listed there, and why the total is only 6%.

Hello again. It's been a few weeks since I last did this. I was busy with irl stuff and vacations. However, I am back with another progress update that should either be weekly or bi-weekly. We'll see how it goes once the prologue patch is out.
    Here are the updates.
    Prologue - 100% (1791/1791)
    Main School - 70% (1895/2691)
    Branch School - 10% (572/5846)
    Total - 6% (4258/68206)
    Prologue - 100% (1791/1791)
    Main School - 6% (157/2691)
    Branch School - 3% (187/5846)
    Total - 3% (2135/68206)
    Prologue - 84% (1502/1791)
As you can see, the translation for the main school has been going well. Editing is closing in on being finished for the prologue and then all there is is UI Work and QC before the prologue patch is released. Get hyped, everybody.
We are still looking for a permanent TLC to work on this project. Please PM me if you're interested in working as a TLC for this project.
I'll be back next week with another update. Until then, have a good rest of your week and see you later.

Hi folks! As I can see a few of you already noticed, our project was picked up for official localization, with a target release date of Q4 2018, and got officially announced at the Denpasoft panel. As I've mentioned before elsewhere, I tend to think it's a good thing when fan translations get picked up for official release: it means more people end up seeing and enjoying the work, and it almost invariably means a higher-quality release (not to mention: more money for the folks who work hard on these things).
Our status is more or less unchanged from what I've said previously: engine work is still ongoing, image editing still needs to be done, and then final QC once everything's implemented. It's not a short game, and there are a few unknowns still, hence the current target date in spite of the script having been basically locked for a while, but I'm sure you're all going to be very happy with the release when it's out, and I can't wait for that day to come!

This is also how we're dividing up the translation work. I'm working on the main school group and @Hasa is working on the branch school group which are similar amounts of text. Additionally the style between each group is different thanks to the two different writers so it makes sense to have two different translators who also will have different styles. Assuming we both translate our respective sections to completion, there will be consistency within each subsection.

Thanks. Things just need to be redone and reworked. A botched TL project shouldn't stay a botched one.
The quality is not up to snuff and the last thing I personally want is to be looked down upon because we aren't getting paid or are considered "n00bs".
Both official and unofficial TL projects require weeks and weeks of work for very little in return, especially in real life.
It's demoralizing and tedious at times both with the team and as individuals. We could quit, but those would just be excuses for our own selfish reasons.
Nobody gets rich off of doing this and it's not exactly something I want on a resume for a job offline.
It's more than "just a hobby" when people are counting on you to deliver a translation deserving of VNs as a whole.

For how long we've been working on it, it's no longer an excuse to say that "we are just starting out".
I want to get this right and I want people to be critical of our work. If our TL is shit, tell us why.
The people that take the time to point out our mistakes (especially those that are brutally honest) are the ones that deserve the best TL possible because it shows they haven't given up on us.
They're still taking the time to tell us that our work is pretty shitty and want better. I'm not perfect, but I want to strive for perfection.
It's why our team is redoing things and not leaving things as is. Because you guys deserve better than that.

Unfortunately, reworking lines aren't reflected on our progress chart and it might appear that the project is stalled or dead when it's not.
I'm hoping that redoing things will pay off in the end for both the team and for the people who want to read Loverable in English.
To those of you that are still around, thanks for not giving up on us. It's been almost a year and a half without anything to show for it.
We're still here though, even if we aren't active on the forums as much. Hell, I rarely posted at all around here since I don't have much to say.
I'm still working on it though behind the scenes and I'm okay with that. I'm probably not gaining anything from working on this and finishing it.
I'm used to doing thankless and unrewarding jobs though, both in person and online. I'm sure there's others out there who feel the same.
We said we were going to TL Loverable without botching it and it's what we're going to do so you can enjoy it as much as we do.

Well, this reply is starting to turn into an essay and using time I could be using for Loverable before going to work, so I'll cut it short.
TDLR: Thanks for whoever is sticking with us and looking forward to our release, whether it's one person or a handful of people.
We're working on improving on our previously botched effort and will give you more updates when get past redoing our old work.
Some won't like it or that admitting that we need to redo stuff is a noob thing to do, but after months of showing no progress except for graphs...
I think it's the respectful and right thing for us as a TL group to do. Peace out.

First off, Congratulations! I consider Fan TL's as a resource for VNs that are not TL'd or going to be TL'd by a company officially. The ideal is that localization continues to flourish and eventually we have all VN's TL'd into English. I wish you all the luck in the world on your future endeavors in the VN community as I am sure we are all well aware for your passion towards VNs. Really no need for apologies, it sucks that all your other work will be shelved unless someone else picks it up, but that is almost the expectation when it comes to Fan TL projects.
From my standpoint this just means MG picked up a high quality TLer which will help any future release you work on and it also allows you to sink more time in TLing, compared to Fan TL on the side. Hope you don't just disappear on us though.
    Again, Congratulations!

Hi folks, long time no see. With the recent announcement finally out of the way, I can talk about the future of this project, and the reason it has been somewhat dead for a while. As I start to move into official translation work, I can no longer continue working on fan translations, sadly. Not only do they take time out of my day that I could be spending doing official TL work, but they also put me in a bit of an awkward position, due to the legal grey area fan translations are in. It would be a shame to get in trouble, possily lose a job etc because of my involvement in fan translation. As such, I'll discontinue my translation work on this and other fan TL projects I am involved in.
So, what happens next? Well, I still have the scripts and tools, so if you're interested in taking over the translation, I'd gladly send over the scripts with the current progress. Just send me a PM and we'll talk.
For now I'll just leave the project like this, and wait to see if anyone wants to step in and take over. But, if no one does, I'll just go ahead and pronounce it dead. It is indeed a shame that it came to this, but I have to prioritize my future. Thanks for understanding.

That's basically why I got involved.  They needed someone willing to do this.  That person needs to be able to translate as well; large parts of the script are shaky, especially the stuff translated early.
Well, nobody else seemed interested.  And I want to play SKM.  I had been planning to wait for Nocturnal Illusion (my other project) to release first, so people would have a feel for my skill level other than my say-so; but it didn't work out that way.  (A good thing, too; I got involved with SKM 18 months ago or so.)

    Game Synopsis
In the middle of summer vacation, the protagonist receives news that his grandfather had fallen ill. Taking the place of his busy parents, he travelled a bit reluctantly to his grandparents’ home. Luckily, his grandfather’s situation wasn’t serious, and he spent time with his grandmother, who he hadn’t seen in a long time. She mentioned that the greenery in the area will soon disappear as it is razed for urban development. He lamented that it was a sign of the times.
As he sat on the porch, feeling the cool breeze and listening to the soothing sound of the swaying wind chimes, he thought it was a very comfortable feeling. He noticed a small girl next to him, basked in the gentle sunlight. He was captivated by her beautiful hair, ears and smile. This is the beginning of a small love story with an innocent and curious white fox and a quiet and meddlesome fox.

Alpha Testers: won't mention names for now but they'll be revealed at some point
Honourable mentions go to @AtomCrafty, @binaryfail and everyone else, who we forgot about. Thanks for helping us, guys.
The common route is translated and currently undergoes editing and TLC, translation on the remaining girls' routes began as well. We plan to release the trial version first around this summer, which contains the whole common route. Full patch will follow afterwards. This is also to ensure the final translation will be released as a quality product, since we want to gather feedback after the trial release. The current estimates are rough, as we plan to deliver a polished, self-extracting patch. Either way, it shouldn't take that long, at least not as long as Biman (hopefully)
We want to thank @Arcadeotic and his team. Euphemic Translations will be providing us with additional help and several QC’s that we would’ve needed sooner or later. Big thanks to everyone who is now involved with the translation alongside us.

    General FAQ
Q: Is there any way to know the progress whenever I want?
A: Ask here and we'll answer with the current progress. Alternatively, we will update the progress chart from time to time.
Q: What is your team's translation speed?
A: Bee does 100 lines per day on average except weekends, technically you can calculate the precise amount of days it'll take to complete this translation (we are too lazy to do it ourselves, lol.)
Q: When are you releasing the patch?
A: The translation will be done in a year, more or less, and the patch? No idea, but definitely faster than Biman.
Q: No, but seriously - when will be the patch done?
    A: When it's done™
Q: Why aren't you looking for help in regards to more translators?
A: We are trying to avoid that, as it will impact the translation's quality for a game of such length.
Q: Do you even have a team name?
    A: Yes, it's "N A N I ? ! Translations."
Q: Do you have a website?
A: Yes, it's up, but it won't be presented until the trial version is out.
Q: Is there any sort of place I can reach you beyond this forum?
A: Yes - we have our own Discord channel, but it's currently not available to the public. We plan to open it after the trial release, though.
Q: Can you show any actual proof that you're translating the game, aka images and stuff?
A: Whenever we can, for now I'll just say that it's something in progress.
Q: Can I donate to you?
A: Better buy the game, when the translation's out.
Q: Will you release a style guide (aka whether "we're taking out honorifics or not", let's get real)?
A: Yes, but once the project is nearer to completion.
Currently we are fully staffed and not in need of any additional help. If any new positions open up, we will inform about that.
Anyway, that's everything. We will update this topic as often, as possible.
If you have any questions, suggestions, critique or simply want to thank us, feel free to leave a reply!
    Thanks for reading!

skrewball717 reacted to Fred the Barber in Anybody playing Re;lord?
I just finished it, and I thought it was a pretty solid game. In full disclosure, I've opted not to write a full review on it since a couple friends of mine worked on the localization, but I haven't seen anybody talking about it, so I thought I should at least start a thread here.
First of all, the gameplay is pretty fun! I have only a little past experience with ero RPGs (like... three games, I guess?), and with the notable exception of Alicesoft titles, I've generally found them to be pretty thin on the gameplay. But Re;lord has pretty solid gameplay! The combat requires you to do a lot of clicking, trading off between left- and right-clicking to attack and guard, and it's all in real-time. No taking your time over a decision on a turn-based strategy game: click or be clicked. It's not the most complex system, and it does stop evolving about halfway through the game, but it's both active and challenging without feeling punishing or random (which often seems to happen to poorly designed turn-based RPGs). The leveling up of skills is fine; nothing special here, but still a decent gameplay element. And the last gameplay element is the map-conquering segment of the game, which is also pretty gratifying, though it's very easy (they didn't get the balance right here). The gameplay has various balance issues (for instance... you should probably just stick to the Wind spell most of the time and leave Fire alone), but they're only ever imbalanced in a way that makes the game easier, at least, and the game is still often challenging, all the way through the end (especially the optional hidden boss, which I eventually gave up on, because they were pretty darn difficult!).
The script is pretty good. More typos than I would like, and there's some issue with line breaking around ellipses that gets annoying at times, but fortunately there just aren't that many ellipses hanging around. The writing is funny (cape jokes for miles), and also timely (right-wing nationalists, ahoy). The latter admittedly makes me a bit squeamish, but given the ending, I suspect it's not going to stay quite as hard-line on that front.
The only downside to the game, really, is that, while the story reaches a reasonable stopping point at the end, it barely scratches the surface of where it wants to go. So, get out there and buy it, so we can get localized releases of volume 2 and volume 3.
Do it for the cape jokes.

Now, literally the above line means "Hey! You're not a butter dog!" - which doesn't seem like it makes a lot of sense in context, does it?  Oh, yes it does.  SKM is actually referencing this urban legend!  This old saw is so old, it got memed before meme was even a verb!  More to the point, how popular is this story, if Japanese eroge writers have heard of an English-language urban legend?

The season of the cherry blossoms, and a time of new beginnings, new encounters, and new people.
For Aoba Kyousuke, this new season marks the start of his second year in high school, and after taking a moment to reflect, and looking at the friends around him...
All he can find is a dumbass too horny for his own good, and a weirdo who can't get over his strange fetish for lizard-humanoid creatures.
Sure enough he enjoys hanging out with them, and he wouldn't ever think of giving it up,
but something feels missing. A precious, valuable part of everyone's adolescence, and something he might just miss out on at this rate...
What is that something? Why, love. So upon realizing this, he shouts out to the world--
He'll need to give it his all, of course, because he knows that love does not come to those who just wait.
Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order
There are four heroines. In order to get into the routes proper, you must select the heroine in the choice screen (when available) and then select to talk about topics that interest her.
This walkthrough will, among other things, clarify which topics interest a heroine. By selecting the topics within the walkthrough you will always receive a decent amount of affection and you may choose any combination of topics that interests you.
Talk topics will be in brackets [] with the relevant questions for any heroine underneath between quotes "". Sometimes these questions will lead to further questions, which will be indicated by -->.
Some questions seem to provide more affection, so I'll mark those with (EXTRA). (Will be removed in the final version of the guide)
Not all possible questions will be presented, but there are enough that you will be able to move to the next stage.
NOTE: For some of the girls, when you have one at stage 4 and another at stage 3 a jealousy short scene will display.

That's where all further updates will be posted, so make sure to follow us there. I'll ask mods to lock this thread, since MeruP won't be checking it anyway, so all feedback should be posted on Reddit instead (we also have a dedicated thread for reporting bugs and other issues).
