  1. Welcome to the Ballroom is the aots obviously. Tenshi no 3P! was really cute and caught my attention. Knights & Magic has had better action scenes than I expected early on. Restaurant to Another World...what can I see. Anime about food are rarely unsatisfying. Kakegurui had a fun psychological aspect, tho the agehao faces are a bit over the top. Classroom of the Elite should be another good psychological show, tho the obliviousness of the students in the first ep was a bit frustrating. In Another World With My Smartphone's future is all in the hands of the adventure portion, because we all know it is going to be an unsatisfying romance. Speaking of adventure, Made in Abyss is great at it. Can't wait for episode 3.
  2. Interesting theory. It actually makes a lot of sense.
  3. Yeah...I literally cried. I don't regret watching it though. Also...the animation of his teacher's daughter was just too freaking great. There were ways they could've stitched up the ending better even after that happened, but oh well.
  4. Yeah, I rated the first season of it quite a bit higher than the second season for that reason...worth a shot =)
  5. After another quick look through my list I have a few suggestions. Firstly is Honey and Clover: Really really funny show with decent romance throughout. Also freaking cute. https://myanimelist.net/anime/16/Hachimitsu_to_Clover Next up is Touch: It is a long baseball related series with a constant look at romance throughout. Seeing that you liked Cross Game, this would be right up your alley. Though I must say, it is quite long. https://myanimelist.net/anime/1065/Touch Third up is Genshiken: This doesn't have romance as it's main focus, but with various characters, including the MC there is romance throughout. Lots of great comedy too and it's setting is college so a little more mature-themed in a way. https://myanimelist.net/anime/240/Genshiken Fourth up is Skip Beat: Really, really funny show about a girl who decides she wants to be an actress. Solid romance and just...it's damn funny. https://myanimelist.net/anime/4722/Skip_Beat I would again like to re-rec Baby Steps: It may be a sports anime, but the romantic undertones are there throughout with bits of comedy thrown in. Hopefully something here catches your fancy.
  6. Glad you enjoyed it. Bakuman is a great anime. I'll see if I can dig up something else for ya.
  7. Just started re-watching Major. Good stuff and it's long so should keep me occupied for a few weeks.
  8. Just watched episode 9 of Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata...and I am about as pissed as I have been in a long time after watching an episode for so many reasons. If anyone else is watching this...please tell me it's not just me.
  9. Ah sorry, I'm always having trouble trying to keep track of the alternate names of shows. Well I still heavily rec the other 3. Best of luck. I have all of the shows on file so lemme know if you can't find a good place to get them.
  10. Just here to re-emphasize u watch Bakuman. It's lengthy with 75 eps, but lots of good comedy/romance and a really nice storyline that I think you would enjoy. https://myanimelist.net/anime/7674/Bakuman I also throw a rec out to Kaichou wa Maid-sama. It's a cute funny show that gets more serious as it goes along. Hope this helps sate your hunger for rom/coms. https://myanimelist.net/anime/7054/Kaichou_wa_Maid-sama Also if you like Haikyuu, Major and Baby Steps are two other good shounen/sports shows. Baby Steps in particular has some romance worked in as well. https://myanimelist.net/anime/21185/Baby_Steps https://myanimelist.net/anime/627/Major_S1
  11. Looking for something with really good comedy, we all need to laugh sometimes. Sub only. https://myanimelist.net/animelist/Skrewball717 @ittaku Would suggest trying Black Lagoon or Bakuman depending if u want action or romance/sol...even tho this isn't my thread
  12. Torn between ever 17 and Everlasting Summer...but since ever 17 isn't that close...i'll go with Everlasting Summer ...And make it a tie again! I already read the other 3 so
  13. Cartagra then KnS for sure. G-senjou true route is great too.
  14. You can tell his translation changes as he progressed throughout the game, but it was never wrong originally, just fine tuned how he wanted to handle certain phrases and situations. The main TL did say that he may do a full TLC over the next 2 weeks to clean up any inconsistencies or awkward sounding phrases. Either way amazing fast progress, quality TL, and a really good VN. Enjoy it.
  15. WIsh I could help with the TL, but my Japanese just isn't up to par for this sort of work. Great progress and good luck. Thanks for what you're doing and stick with it
  16. I can't think of any VNs that have this tbh. Coconut from Neko Para 2 is pretty tanned, but it's a linear VN. In Eiyuu Senki there some of the heroines are darker skinned too, but this game is similar to Rance so it's hard to call them routes. In Taimanin Murasaki there is one as well, but nukige for sure. So you know this is a tag on VNDB though. Best of luck.
  17. Then I would definitely say Amane from Grisaia. The Rei route from Snow Sakura is along those lines as well. Albeit it's an older VN. I'm assuming you've played Majikoi because there is a bevvy of fits for you there. Fate Stay/Night is built on strong-willed female leads. Although how the VN is assembled is a bit different than your average VN. All i can think of atm. Best of luck.
  18. The Amane After route in Grisaia no Meikyuu has that sort of feel to it. Not straight yakuza, but the dad could be lol. G-senjou no Mao is kinda the opposite where you are on the side of the yakuza controling peoples lives. Not quite what you want. It's the interaction with Maya's family that makes it tough to copy. Most games will focus on the heroine but that that aspect of it.
  19. Kyonyuu Fantasy comes to mind. Medieval situation with several interesting romance situations; A neglected lord's wife, succubus, princess, enemy generals etc...fun little game even tho it is classified as nukige. Not a bad story at all
  20. On top of what was rec'd above... Stains;Gate is a great one that has a solid amount of comedy. If you haven't played Grisaia no Meikyuu yet that continues along the line of Kajitsu I found Clannad very funny throughout with a great story and feels on top of it. Rewrite is great as well. Katawa Shoujo isn't voiced but is pretty funny and a really good story. Kyonyuu Fantasy is a nukige of sorts but it has funny moments and was a good read from my standpoint Kira Kira and Deardrops are both classic VNs with some pretty funny parts Honestly...I found the Grisaia Trilogy and Majikoi franchise to be the funniest VNs I have ever read. Clannad and Steins;Gate might be about as funny but they don't have any sexual content if that is in your interest too. The others are not funny throughout but have their moments. Take a gander and see what might interest you.
  21. My first instinct is Fate Stay/Night, Seinarukana, Majikoi, CoU, Princess Waltz, and Koiken Otome. All are translated and the base setting you described. Fate's MC starts off pretty useless more b/c he doesn't know his own ability, but isn't too annoying. Best of luck Edit: Can add Duel Savior to the list as well. Couldn't remember the name of it prior
  22. Totally. I'm hoping they pick up Walkure Romanze...been waiting years for a team to TL it. Definitely deserves it too.
  23. Stains;Gate should be your #1 VN read. I'd still put G-Senjou, Chrono Clock, and Princess Waltz in that order as far as story goes. Just depends on how much romance you want in relation to sci-fi and that sort of thing. Enjoy either way
