  1. Sounds like a challenge In seriousness though looking at you're VNDB you can still be called a noobie to the VN world so when in doubt bust this guide out.
  2. This is Fuwa derailing is what we do haha. I'm watching the 30 minute expose now so I can comment on this properly at a later time.
  3. That's probably the wisest answer we're going to get to be fair haha. For me if the art is so bad I won't even touch it no matter how good the story is so I guess I value art more. Yeah the characters in Beach were so badly done that I cringed when they popped up again in a cameo in Agent. I really enjoyed Dungeon it's what made me buy their other titles and Fantasy too, it's a shame we won't see the conclusion to it as it sold poorly according to WC themselves. Are you referring to the mistreatment of Wanaca? as she came out on Twitter saying those claims were false but I haven't looked into any of it myself so I can't say.
  4. I hear Winged Cloud has some new writers that are actually trying to write decent scripts now after getting so much hate, personally the only one of their games I truly hate is Sakura Beach 1&2 they are so boring with unlikable heroines. But some of the newer stuff was pretty enjoyable for what they are like Sakura Agent. I enjoyed that well enough but still haven't tried the newer stuff.
  5. The art styles too are slightly weird as well, like trying to be a western/anime style hybrid some handle it pretty well and some are down right bad, looking all messy more than anything.
  6. You don't really see them mentioned much here so I guess it's a niche community inside a niche community, with the exception of Winged Cloud but there's a reason they get name dropped so often... For me I have a good amount of them on Steam and read a good amount of them mixed in with the straight up sex games on places like Play Force One. With a few exceptions like: The Elsa-Verse VN's (Called: Pandora, Dreaming with Elsa, Redemption for Jessika, Finding Miranda and Saving Chole) by a small two people team called Tlaero and Mortze (I'll link their Patreon page as they don't show up in VNDB https://www.patreon.com/tora) The Sunrider series by Love in Space https://vndb.org/p2765 Ace Academy - and a few others like Starlight Vega and Highway Blossoms. Most for me at least feel quite hollow or empty compared to their main stay Japanese counter parts most likely due to smaller budgets preventing them from larger scopes or just by not really sticking to the tropes we've come to expect. Thus making them not as interesting. What do you guys think?
  7. Don't worry they'll never stop us... err I mean all hail our benevolent overlords, may they always keep the peace
  8. Welcome to Fuwa! If there's anything don't understand just leave a post, we're all decent people here... with the occasionally shit posters to keep things interesting.
  9. I can't really remember my original five as this was back in late 2015 - early 2016. I only perfectly recall my first two, the rest I think they where. 1. Katawa Shoujo - Finished 2. If my heart had wings - Originally the steam version but a steam friend sent me a link for the uncensored patch, Finished 3. Grisaia no Kajitsu - Finished 4. Sakura Swim Club - talk about bad luck having a Winged Cloud VN in my first five haha, Finished 5. I really can't remember if it was Clannad or Princess Evangile - Stalled on Clannad, finished Princess Evangile.
  10. Nutauku's page only mentions the three girls but VNDB shows around five including the trap's so I don't know why they cut them. I have both of those but only read Go Go so far and they where pretty good, I recall some of Frontwing's releases are stepping up and improving there's like Corona Blossom but it still looks slightly weird until you get used to it.
  11. The only thing I can think of with something similar to what you're on about is this - https://www.nutaku.net/games/download/girls-can-be-pervy-too/ where you can create your own scenes after finishing the main routes. I haven't played it myself though so I can't say if it's good or not but the concept alone makes it interesting.
  12. It can something major or so minor that you'd hardly notice it was there. For me it would be a simple progress percentage that VN's like No, Thank You!! has or each individual route besides the bad ends that instantly take you back to the main menu. As some VN's with extremely slow pacing like Clannad, you can spend all day on and only feel like you've only progress a tiny amount so it would be a nice little way to show you how far you are from that little light at the end of the tunnel. What about you guys? EDIT: I know someone's going to say it so I'll address it first. I know most VN's show completion stats in their galleries when you've finished a route or some have them at the very start. But those are completion stats for the CG's or the Endings you need to finish, I'm talking about actual route percentages rather than gallery ones.
  13. Ahh Right. That's a shame then but if it's as enjoyable as the first one was, I still don't mind waiting whenever for it. If anything it gives me more time to clear my backlog.
  14. Yeah it's not high on my priority but I checked the team's facebook page yesterday and the last update on the 24th of this month stated that they're more or less only got Rinrin's, Sei's, Shuri/Hinari and Ren/Nene H scenes left and a little to more to do with Moeshouden. So it's possible it'll be this year but I don't really mind if it's not, I enjoyed the original enough to wait for this if I need to. I like doing threads like this to see what people are looking forward too and so I can steal their recommendations... Err I mean respectfully expand my wishlist.
  15. Oh That's good to know, I'll probably grab when it comes out then... Or at least wait for some reviews as I still haven't even touched my copy of Libra after I pre-ordered after reading some early reviews. Me too the art looks so unique. I'm also looking forward to Room No.9 as it's made by the people who did No, Thank You!!. I'm getting bored with Naked Butlers, it's good but even with a guide it's still a pain to navigate the route you want, Komine's is the worst it's so easy to fail early on.
  16. After finishing Kamidori I have to agree. I was already looking for the other translated ones but they're not full English patches only narrative and menus... You'd really think I'd learn my lesson after counting that I have 90 VN's on Steam to read and another 91 downloaded from elsewhere before planning on buying more new releases, but no I'm too weak. I'm partly looking forward to this but isn't the team who did Libra the Vampire Princess doing this? I've heard bad things from that. I was interested in that but when I viewed the CG gallery to learn more about it, it seems pretty messed up even for me when I thought VN's like Euphoira were pretty tame but maybe I'll still get it.
  17. High five for the Majikoi comment alone haha. I've heard that series is pretty good though it's a bit odd the English translation team are starting on the second one rather than the first.
  18. I've been spotting quite a few newcomers to both VN's in general and us crazy lot here on Fuwa, so I thought to start this thread for any noobies to give them a hint as to what's coming up from what we know from last years announcements, upcoming fan projects and also just what we like to see personally as well. For reference if you can't remember the announcements - MangaGamer - https://vndb.org/p428 Denpasoft/Sekai - https://vndb.org/p4859 JAST - https://vndb.org/p102 For me: Officially would be - The Complete Box for the Grisiaia seires Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai *Even though I read the Fan version I still want to support an official release.* The rest of the officials listed are less or a priority and more a curiosity - Evenicle The most forbidden love in the world Maitetsu Senren * Banka Nanairo Reincarnation Sengoku Rance Trample on "Schatten!!" Fan Releases - Tsujidou-san no Jun'ai Road Koiken Otome ~Revive~ Majo Koi Nikki Shin Koihime † Musou ~Otome Ryouran ☆ Sangokushi Engi Kanojo to Ore to Koibito to. And finally what I wish to see this year personally would be Majikoi A-3. I would list it with the other fan releases but unlike the others we haven't really heard much from the team progress wise, but they have said last I checked that it's still happening despite the official release of the first game.
  19. I've heard Muv-Luv is really boring but Muv-Luv Alternative is meant to be really good.
  20. I remember looking for to that one after hearing about it as it sounded slightly unique but yeah it became so boring and in some routes like the Manager's didn't make sense. Like they were doing the whole will they won't they, then just skipped a load of stuff and now she acts like a completely different character when visiting him at his home, it made zero sense.
  21. Damn I had a feeling that was going to happen just by the way Ann and Yuri act in the common route by getting worked up by minor things.
  22. Princess Evangile is a real slow burn which I enjoyed but also found very boring due to its run of the mill high school slice of life tale, not really adding anything unique. I've just started Saku Saku last night and now I'm about to lock into my first route. It's better than I was hoping so far at least I held off on it for a while after it's release as I heard it wasn't great.
  23. I've got Steins Gate in my backlog and have my IRL friends nagging me to read it as the anime is meant to be great (I wouldn't know I hate watching any anime haha) With Grisaia no Kajitsu I felt the same with Amane's route I love her character but by god that route is slow and dull.
  24. I've held off on SubaHibi because of how it divides it's readers. It would make my life so much easier if I could drop them but I know the minute I'd drop one I know I would do it more and more often and I really don't want to adopt that habit too haha.
