  1. I'm getting a little tired of Naked Butlers as just getting the endings you haven't seen even with a guide is a pain, but it's made me want to go back and clear off some old dormant ones so I'll probably give it another crack when I can.
  2. Haha My black log is 71 on Steam and 90 downloaded from else where haha xD I haven't play Doki Doki yet but it's in the back log. Clannad's main problem is it's pacing even the most die hard fan will have trouble not admitting that haha otherwise it's amazing.
  3. I think it's safe to say I've never heard of any of those titles haha.
  4. We all have at least one VN that's so boring or uninteresting that we've taken a break from it and totally promise to come back and finish one day I swear... Or some that's even worse that we've dropped all together. For me it's these (I would link the VNDB pages in but I've forgotten how ) What about you guys? What I've Finished Recently - Kamidori Alchemy Meister (04/01/2018-21/01/2018) Utawarerumono (13/12/2017-04/01/2018) What I'm Currently Reading - (Don't read more than one at a time like I do with this stupid habit I've picked up from somewhere it really slows you down) Hadaka Shitsuji Saku Saku Lightning Warrior Raidy 1 Dengeki Stryker Idol Magical Girl Chiru Chiru Michiru Part 1 Littlewitch Romanesque My Stalled Titles - Binetsu Kyoushi Cherry - I've finished all the good routes besides the class friend and the bad routes for their CG's but those route just bore me unlike the others involving the teachers. Chrono Clock - I've spoken about this one a few times already. I really enjoyed the art, the common and Makoto's route but the sister's and the snobby posh girl routes are pretty dull to the point were I can't be arsed to try the others yet. Clannad - I'm going to get shit for this one haha. I love Clannad, it's writing, it's characters and the routes are all unique and touching... besides Nagisa I can not stand her, so add her and that slow pacing is why I've stalled on the second half of the game, the true route if you will and yes I know what happens to her I've had it spoiled. D.S. -Dal Segno - I was really looking forward to this one coming off the rush of the DA Capo series (3 was a let down but 2 remains in my top 3 best VN's) But all the routes that I've read more or less follow the same plot, of getting along really well, break up near the holidays and get back together and bang at the end... I've got the cousin and the AI route left but I'm on hold somewhere near the end of the goth chick's route. Gaokao Lianai Yibai Tian - Haven't played very much of this and honestly it just got buried and forgotten when I started to loss interest due to how you need to remember what to do day to day to avoid one of the I think it has 20+ endings. Harem☆Party - This VN is what it is not bad but not great either, The only reason I've stalled on it is the weird text bug where letters and words end up really off place is the best way to describe it. Heirs and Graces - I like the western indie developer that makes these games, Loren The Amazon Princess is by far his best game. This one suffers with, if you don't match the required stats at the end you'll fail but you need to keep an eye on other things at the same time so juggling the high requirements makes you fail so easily. Roommates - Not as much as the game above (made by the same guy) But still a bit of a pain I think I've only got One route left though. Sagara-sanchi no Etsuraku Life ♪ - This had promise but the infamous BGM bug makes it really hard to focus and unlike most VN's where I sometimes like to mute and listen to something else in the background you can't mute this unless you mute your speakers, so a big pain there because, BY GOD THE FREAKING VOLUME OF THE BGM IS UNREAL THAT USING ALL CAPS IS NECESSARY TO SHOW THE PAIN OF MY EAR DRUMS AFTER PLAYING THIS. Sakura Beach 2 - I bought this the same time I bought the first one... which is also before I came to realise that Winged Cloud while the art is good the "plots" are not (I hear they've got a few new writers and it's turning around for them though) The first one is so boring that I tried to rush through this just to finish the last of their titles but it's just so freakin' boring. Starless - Reason because... Well if you've read this you'll understand why it's not something so casually read. Sumeragi Ryouko no Bitch na 1 nichi - Good job I didn't pay for this... Errr I mean... It's okay but the sex scenes drag on longer than needed. Tales of Aravorn: Seasons Of The Wolf - Same reason as Roommates, This is more an RPG like Loren but still a slog to get through. My Outright Dropped Titles - Iinazuke wa Imouto-sama! - I didn't drop this because it was bad per say, only because the English patch gave me more trouble than it was worth by the languages constantly switching back and forth mid read no matter how many times I tried to sort it. Shounen to Chijo Oneesan-tachi no Shiawase H na Apaato Kurashi - This is so bad in so many ways It was a miracle I got as far in as I did. I could list what's wrong with it but It would take less time if I tried listing what's good with it instead. In a nutshell don't even bother looking it up it's that bad.
  5. Just like a few months ago when I gave away a copy of Littlewitch Romanesque, I bought the collectors edition of Eiyu Senki when it came out which had two extra copies one uncut *which I've already given away* and the All Ages Steam Copy. Last time the code went to someone had already had the game so this time let's see if it goes to someone who's never played it. The Code is 68XYV-5GWBH-D40FE Enjoy it whoever claims it!
  6. Ahh. You're right and to think I was the one that started the thread when Denpasoft released both of those on the same day, so it's pretty weird I got those mixed up haha. I'll probably start with Saku Saku then and then Fate/Stay Night as I don't fancy coming off a 50+ hour VN just to jump right into another one. I see and that's useful to know. I just read your review and you raise some really good points, I'll most likely put HoshiMemo and Leyline on the back burner for now then I make my way through recommendations I've been given. Thanks for the info both of you.
  7. I was looking forward to reading Saku Saku in the lead up to it's release, but then when it came out I saw people here mentioning that both Saku and Hoshizora still had quite a bit of there content still not translated. Probably due to both being released on the same day to get them out of the door before the holidays. I'm not sure if that's true or not but it made me hold off until now.
  8. I enjoy reading Manga so I might try find it if there's an English release if I enjoy the VN. Man Clannad I've clocked in over 100 hours on that and still haven't finished the after story haha, though to be fair that's more due to me not liking Nagisa and having the ending spoilt more than anything so that's been on hold for a few months haha. I enjoy long VN's when they're done well like Majikoi and Grisaia no Kajitsu, I didn't realise how long I actually spent on them until I was finished as they where both addicting and well paced... besides that Amane route in Grisaia but we don't talk about that black sheep haha.
  9. I've heard really good things from it and I've seen it's popularity grow outside of VN fans into the mainstream so I'm assuming it was made into a show or something. Its been in my backlog awhile, but with it's length I thought to hold off for awhile and blow through some of my smaller 2-10 to 20-30 hours ones just to reduce the list a bit. It didn't really work as most where so mediocre that I've stalled on them and just moved on so now might be the time to finally take a crack at it.
  10. I've nearly finished the two current VN's I'm on *Kamidori Alchemy Meister and Hadaka Shitsuji* and I'm torn between the few recent VN's I've bought or ones I've had on my buried in my backlog for awhile. So out instead of listing all 90+ I've narrowed it down to these what do you guys think I should read first? Or better yet put in an order to be read? We have: A Clockwork Ley-Line The Borderline of Duskleyline Cho Dengkei Stryker Fate Stay Night Hoshizora no Memoria -Wish upon a Shooting Star Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate PSYCHO-PASS Mandatory Happiness Saku Saku Muv-Luv
  11. Knowing JAST I'd say 15 years is too generous, Haha. I appreciate the offer but it's not the patch that's a problem it's more of getting a copy of the Japanese version to patch like the team that did the patch tells you too, or buy the English version on disk which is rare enough on it's own, let alone even rarer finding one outside the US.
  12. Nice to see more BL stuff getting more attention on here, I'm currently reading Hadaka Shitsuji right now along with three others. I've been meaning to read DRAMAtical Murder for awhile now but it's difficult to get the game for me to apply the English patch so I might just wait and hope MG or another company picks it up for an official release.
  13. If we had to pick I'd let you keep yours as unlike me you could list three titles to look into picking up. I could only manage two that I really wanted and randomly picking the last one from my VNDB wishlist... that I keep forgetting to check over. Haha.
  14. Kinda scary we both posted about this in the exact time frame haha.
  15. This was the best comment I've seen mentioned here so far as one it shows I'm not really in the minority for skipping most Haha. But more importantly covers another point that I forgot to mention in the OG post, which is a big reason why I skipped Bad ends when I first started reading VN's and still do it to this day. As especially a lot last year, where most of the VN's I was reading where pretty heavy stuff even in the good ends (Looking at you Euphoria... though that true ending did pay it off pretty well) so it made me less inclined to read the bad ends especially like mentioned above if you've grown attached to these characters. Characters like our Goddess haha.
  16. That's probably the main reason I started reading through some once I started noticing I was missing some CG's by the time I finished. Now I tend to play it safe and always check walkthroughs to see if they mention needing to read them or not to view everything in the albums
  17. Like the other discussion I started a few weeks ago, yet again I was talking to my VN friend on Twitter but this time about Bad Endings and whether we skip them, only read ones that change the route's story but ignore the ones that just lead straight back the main menu or just read them all to complete everything. I said at when I first started reading VN's I did skip them not really thinking then as essential more non-canon things there so at least the reader has some choices to make in the VN's but then I remembered that most VN's have a "true route" so even good endings are technically non-canon either. So now I do read most of them but still do skip the occasional one if: one I can't be bothered to read it. or two the good route was bad so therefor the bad can't be much better, but both of those are very few and far between. One day when my backlog isn't over 91+ VN's (that's no joke or exaggeration and also not counting the ones I have downloaded on Steam) to read through I'll go back and read some like the ones in Grisaia no Kajitsu as I've heard they're pretty good and I few others. So what about you guys?
  18. This is always the one of best things to show newbie's with all its useful info but sorry you'll have constantly zoom in and out to read it.
  19. If we're counting all the series heroines then: 1. Michiru 2. Yumiko 3. Asako 4. JB 5. Chizuru 6. Agnes 7. Milliela 8. Sachi 9. Makina 10. Kazuki 11. Amane I love Amane but given how terrible her route is in the first game with it's pacing and a few other issues, it's hard to separate her character and that really bad character arc. If the issues were more minor and the story a little more interesting then I'd slap her into 5th. But more importantly praise be to the Goddess
  20. Clearly the second choice.... purely for scientific reasons though. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
  21. It took a few hours but I sorted this out myself, I can't say for sure what I did as most of it was guess work but I reinstalled the kami_001, kami_002 and kami_200 without deleting or replacing the old files and it's fixed it.
  22. When I first booted up the game for the first time I clicked the Extra Stories button instead of the new game one by mistake as it was on top of it and it took me to the option to choose between the two available stories or return to main menu. I clicked return and this time clicked new game and now I've finished one route I want to read the extra stories to go along side the new characters in NG+ plus, but now when I click Extra Stories on the main menu it doesn't come up with the option to choose which one I want to read and just starts prologue of the main game instead. I've searched around but no posts I've seen has anyone else mentioning this so any help?
  23. I was speaking to a friend on Twitter the other day and the topic of VN's with Gameplay came up due to the increase of them being released lately. (Mainly from MangaGamer, like the one they just announced a few hours ago Heart of Crown for example.) He joked and said he's a purist and VN's with gameplay aspects are not VN's and I half agreed, half didn't. For me it depends on both the narrative and whether it helps immersion or takes you out of it. Take Koihime Musou and Kamidori Alchemy Meister for examples, In Koihime you take the role of a general leading his troops and the gameplay is small little battles where you plan what formations to use and what commander does what; It's short and simple but makes you connected better with the protagonist, thus making him feel like a proper general rather than it just being mentioned but never seen. While Kamidori *Which is what I'm currently reading/playing... and loving solid 8,5 pushing 9/10 for me so far* the VN is more I don't want to say unbalanced because it is and it isn't: there you play as a rising Alchemist and thus go out with your companions to go out adventuring to discover new recipes and ingredients which is really fun and addicting but you spend more time on that rather than the story of the VN. Begging the question is it still a VN or has it become more of a RPG adventure? Those are more or less my thoughts, being somewhere in the middle but leaning more towards liking VN's having some but in moderation.
  24. Same I ordered the English complete box collection whenever Frontwing gets it's shit together to start shipping without these delays, even though I have all of that series besides No Rakuen because the prefect girl doesn't exist... scratch that last bit I've seen the light, Can I get a hallelujah That makes sense I did download the Free prologue part of that on Steam but haven't started it as I didn't really want to pay for the rest of the story in the two part paid dlc package as it was still the All ages version. So I might just uninstall that and get this as it works out cheaper when converted into UK currency and you get that PSP reverse port of the other game with it *didn't know there was one just thought it was only the main VN in this series* as I was interested enough when Steam released it as I've heard good things about it.
  25. I haven't even started it yet but It is Tokeijikake no Ley Line according to VNDB anyway that's just not it's official English name.
