Roulette got a reaction from Jun Inoue in What Anime are you watching now?
The Promised Neverland, Mob Psycho 100 II and Jojo part 5. Also Vinland Saga and Dr. Stone coming up later this year. What a great year to be an anime fan.

From what I've read so far, Chaos;Child has a lot of elements of detective work and is basically a giant mystery. I've been really enjoying it so far and I think you should try it out.

Based in past Japan.  The protagonist is a Japanese magistrate in the Edo era.  For a bit of background, a magistrate during the Edo era served as investigator chief, prosecutor, jury, and judge all in one.  Because of this, magistrates in the later Edo era were often badly corrupt or obsessed with making examples rather than discovering the truth of an incident.  The protagonist is a strait-laced type though.
Butterfly Seeker would have been a recommendation for me, if the protagonist wasn't a (very limited) psychic.  It is one of the few mystery VNs I've honestly enjoyed.  The protagonist in this one is part of a school club of detective trainees, each with a peculiar talent (such as the main heroine's extreme empathy, another one's analytical abilities, or the last one's natural talent for subduing suspects).  He's got a sort of Hannibal Lector/Clarice dynamic going with an imprisoned killer that makes it more interesting, at least to me.
Same thing for Sakura no Mori Dreamers (both are based in cities with extremely high murder rates from serial killings), though Sakura no Mori is a lot more heavy on the fantasy crap.

I know a couple of detective Visual Novels since its one of my favorites!
Although they are kinda old if that's alright with you, hope you like it!!!
    Eve: Bust Error
    Adam: The Double Factor
    Chain The Lost Foot Footprints
Hmm... I still have one to recommend however you say don't like science fiction and supernatural elements and a big no no correct?
Anyways here it is and never hurts to try....
    Divi Dead
Believe what you will, but the Supernaturals are very real...  Heck even Hitler was a satanist, he even practices divination. Crazy dude
And that's one of the reasons why he hated Jews...

As for science fiction, long time ago, Artificial Intelligence, Jet Pack, Robots were a work of fiction. Time has passed then these things are now in the present and is very real... Fiction is a clever way to tell a lie even though it isn't
Anyhow wish you all the best and hoping you'll widen your horizons, you'll be missing a lot if you disregard playing VNs/Games with science fiction or supernatural elements... Heck even a hardcore RTS gamer like me wants to take breaks from playing realistic WWII games such as Company Of Heroes, The Commandos Series, Men Of War, Sudden Strike. The list goes on

Have you played Cartagra or Kara No Shoujo yet?
If not then go for that.

That's one of rare genre in the VNs there, so the title itself is quite limited. As for the translated one maybe you can try Phoenix Wright, especially the Investigation spinoffs. While if you want to try untranslated one, perhaps you can try both of Caucasus and Pianissimo (Both from same developer as Kara no Shoujo). Also if you still didn't try that yet, you can try OELVN Lucid9. I hope my recommendations will be helpful to you.

So no Umineko for you? Well, ~if~ you change your mind about supernatural elements, go for Umineko no Naku Koro Ni.
As for games, I really can't remember any. What I can recommend is to read Agatha Christie, and you probably know why.

I seconded Fureraba here, and if you want more comedy VN then you can try both of Noble Works and Dracu Riot. Other than that, if you somehow into very violent tsundere girls who like to abuse MC, then you can try Ikikioi as well. Hope my recommendations will be helpful to you.

I had quite the laughs while playing/reading these Visual Novels although I wasn't able to complete some of them but still got some good laughs!
My Girl Is The President and the Fan Disc
    Cherry Tree High Comedy Club
    Yumina The Ethereal
    War Of The Human Tanks
    Fureraba
SSSS: Super Secret Sexy Spy: The description of the game will make you laugh already without even playing the game yet!

Should we also mention the Hyperdimension Neptunia Games? Those games are suppose to be a parody of consoles or something like that?

If you're reading Noraneko then I guess you can read Japanese? If so:
    Okiba ga Nai!
    Baka Moe Heart
    Tojita Sekai no Tori Colony
    Lamunation
    Tsuisou no Augment
    Minamijuujisei Renka

Rewrite is pretty funny, especially in the common route. Grisaia no Kajitsu and Clannad are also funny in their respective common routes, but they both lack a gripping plot (though the former has very interesting characters and Amane has an amazing backstory, but I digress).

Roulette got a reaction from Dreamysyu in Your opinion on the Isekai genre?
The problem I have with Isekai or even most fantasy anime is how everything is 'gamified' shall I say? You have lvls, drop items, dungeons, dragons, stats, slimes, healing potions, demon kings, these things are omnipresent even in anime/manga where the protag isn't trapped in a game. It's like they have a notion of what a fantasy world would be like(by playing rpg) but they never evolve their idea past that point and that just looks lazy to a spoiled consumer like me.

Also why does everything have to be with a european setting? I want to see the Japanese take on the fantasy world with Japanese culture just as we saw the Polish take on fantasy with Witcher 3. Instead we get the Japanese take on fantasy with their interpretation of european culture.
These things are aren't exactly bad per se they just feel stagnant and saturated at this point.

For that matter why does almost every fantasy story involves saving the world or saving humanity? Don't they have anything more interesting to tell other than 'The world is at peril' or 'Demon king at our gates'. Even games and movies are guilty of this. I have been on epic journeys countless times with countless set of companions that the formula doesn't feel epic anymore. Why not tell more personal stories in a fantasy setting? Why not about racism or political corruption or something as the main theme that feels original in a fantasy setting? Elfs and drawves in every fantasy setting. That's the pinnacle of our creativtiy?
Take influence from outside world as Tolkien did instead of just taking influence from other fantasy story in an already saturated genre...

Wow, I went on for quite a bit their and it mostly became about fantasy than Isekai at the end.. sorry about that.
I just want more writers to take a genuine 'Japanese' approach on Isekai/fantasy.

I played Chrono Clock, will try Snow Sakura and I'm totally fine with bad endings as long as there is no drastic tonal shift.
Funny thing is I didn't even notice the swastika in my profile pic until a moderator offhandedly mentioned me getting request for ban by various users. I just thought the picture was cute when uploading.
Correct. This is why I posted a thread here instead of searching in vndb since what I found there were mostly moeges and the most popular comedy vn is Fate/Stay Night...
But you can still recommend me moege if nothing else comes to mind.
I played comyu. Boob wars sounds silly and fun. I'll try it.
Thanks for the suggestion guys keep em coming if possible.

Tsuisou no Augment's common route is entirely devoted to comedy, aside from the very beginning. It does take a "drastic tonal shift" to serious,
, but it's overall really good.

You intend to recommend Chrono Clock to anyone and everyone out there from now on? (Damm you pipped my curiosity on just exactly how good it is . Gonna read in for sure in the nearby future~~)
Also, no mention of Grisaia no Kajitsu so far? The common route is pretty comedic (although the routes are pretty dark in tone).
For an unconventional recommendation, you can try Cross Channel: Moenovel's Steam(ing pile of poo) edition. Personally, I find that the TL is so (laughablely) bad, that it's good

i dont know what your pic was so cant really say about that but his pic isnt focused on the swastika but how it works with the rest of the pic. it seems the image is done for comedic purposes.

speaking of comedy! theres comyu. it has a heavy tone but theres still a lot of funny moments. although it is pretty dark for the most part sadly. theres boob wars. cant go wrong with either version. you can play either one in any order since theyre not connected but i recommend 2. 2's one of my favs.

Snow Sakura. It's a good comedy, though there are a few places, which aren't meant to make you laugh, such as being forced to not see your girl of choice. However they are part of the story and there are no bad endings. It is absolutely dominated by comedy and people having a good time together.
I wrote more about the VN here.
