I know some girls irl that have the brain of a catgirl, but unfortunately don't have cat ears or a tail and don't have a submissive personality
Weebs have weird fetiches and writers use the easy way creating stupid characters to economize words cause they are too bad to make a proper characterization and the majority player base only care about bouncing boobs.
tl;dr: weebs are racist, fascist and misogynist. Empower catgirls and deconstruct yourself!!! Destruct the patriarchy!!!

Norleas got a reaction from AustriaVNFan in A question to those who read untranslated Japanese VNs
    1) I lived in Japan for some time, so learning the language was my top priority at the start.
    2) Two and a half years, but only cause I was not interested in Visual novels before.
    3) It was easy, I was already at JLPT N1 level and studying intensively, the kanjis was not complicated either, so no trouble in my first reading.
    4) No, and never used.

Try clear one bad end first, if that doesn't work use the save available in seiya saiga, if this also doesn't work it's probably a bug, so try checking updates.

Norleas got a reaction from AdventSign in (8/1 update) Results of the honorifics survey
Given the demographics of the vn readers in the west, keeping or cutting honorifics is not much more than a stylistic choice.
Honorifics is something not too problematic, but it made me think how some hard situations (like kanji puns) are handled.

Norleas got a reaction from iwasnevergoodwithnames ;( in Sooooo...is "Summer Pockets" the next big Key VN?
After Yuu finished the script of the heroines routes, Maeda saw that the game need more "Key magic", then he made Yuu write some family drama, cus Maeda only know to force cheap melodrama that way, so in the end we have good heroine routes(most of the time) and two last routes that disrupt from the rest and are boring at least.
It's a decent tittle, could be much better, but the "Key style" with cheap drama and predictable supernatural elements make it worse, in my opinion. Maybe the problem is that i already read that type of story a thousand times.
If you like Key novels, it's a good vn, though little than Clannad, more than Rewrite. But in my metric, nothing exceptional.

Well, the poll only have AAA titles (maybe excluding Kara no Shoujo), but every work are very different from each other, so it break down to what you want now.
WA2 is probably the best "soap opera" drama vn that you will read, but if you are not into dramatic dragging love triangles (the soap opera special) things could be a little tiring in some parts.
I recommend Oretsuba, a very solid title despite the low popularity comparing to the others on the poll, somehow a unique work in some aspects and the best that Ou Jackson write so far (not as if he is a masterpiece writer, but well, he does his job).

One important factor that heavily affect vndb untranslated ratings is the japanese proficiency of the voters and i think that could be one of the reasons of why the scores tend to differ more on "bad" vns. Not to related, but one graph that i like to see is votes cast x user average score.

In terms of arts, minori titles, the Bishoujo Mangekyou series, Innocent Grey works and Aokana is the first things that come to mind to me.

Norleas got a reaction from milkteebaby in How much reading (in a VN) is too much?
The limit of "too wordy" really depends of what you are writing, genres like sci-fi have much more tolerance in that aspect than SoL, the excess of words tends to be a problem to less skillful writers, but in the right hands and concepts could make a really good work. If you are uncertain, use the motto "less words, more meaning".
In my opinion, a negative example of a wordy vn is  Tsuki ni Yorisou Otome no Sahou 2, the phrases per se are already lengthy and there some random background info dumps that are totally fucked by how lengthy they are, resulting in a horrible flow to the history.

Being consistently good is way harder than begin low and then peak higher, the inability to be at least digestible in all the sections is like a plague that infects most of story driven vns and make them crap.

Based only on Suki to Suki, she knows how to write good comedy and make likeable heroines, but sucks at romance/every other point "more serious" of the story, the jokes on the middle of romance scenes that make that aspect more shallow than already is, though in the end is enjoyable if you want to laugh. Technically nothing much elaborate, but tons of otaku reference and  4th wall breaking.
That is only based in one game, but she is young on the scene and have only two non-nukige titles, so have room to improve.
E: She is only a assistant on Suki to Suki, so what was written above don't have much value.

Edit. But, yeah, it's better than nothing.
