Apparently, JAST has removed a scene without any notifications.

The first H scene in a route happens during the game at select moments and is consistent with that point in the story - you just save and then go that H scene. The second H scene happens after the end of the story and its timing is consistent with happening after the story. Subsequent scenes are there purely for fapping at your leisure, and take chronological order from the second H scene.

They are kind of extra content in the scene that they don't take place during the routes and only take place after them, unlocking first one when finish their route and rest as you go through the scene. But it's the same in original release, you got them with the game but go through them same way, it was same for monobeno which is lose's other vn.

Yes! The project is 100% alive. Sorry about the lack of updates, I went through some health problems last year so the development stopped, but I'm back at it now yay! The script is fully translated and edited, the base coding and GUI are done and the ost is being worked on. Right now I'm already implementing the script so I could even release a demo already, a part of the game is playable. That being said, there will be a bit more time of silence until Synergia is closer to its release. Hopefully that will happen soon! Also thank you for the support! Hello friends! This is newly formed translation group Snowy Ryujin TL, and we have decided that after 18 years of going untranslated, we're gonna try our hand at developing a fan translation of the Studio Mebius VN, Snow
My name's Rinny, and you might recognize me from being the Project Lead & Editor for the Summer Pockets, Angel Beats 1st Beat and Miazora Fine Days projects. If there's one VN I've been absolutely dying to not only read myself but bring to English ever since I entered the VN scene, it's this one.

The Visual Novel:
"The story of Snow starts when the main protagonist Izumo Kanata visits a small village called Ryujinmura (village of the dragon god) to help his cousin Tsugumi manage a local hotel with hot springs. In the village there is an old legend: In ancient times, the village is protected by the dragon goddess. However, one day the dragon goddesses fell in love with a human, which is strictly forbidden, and this incident finally caused the village to be always covered by snow after that. The game then tells the daily life of the protagonist in the village, and finally links the story to the legend of dragon goddess."
 
The Project:
Snow is a Nakige released way back in 2003, and has gained a bit of a reputation as an enigma. Many who have played it claim it is good, some even say one of the best, yet all these years later it is not only hard to acquire, but there's been next to nothing on any sort of fan translation. We aim to change that. This translation will also be of the "Plus Edition" of Snow, which contains full voices and an extra route. This is an 18+ version of the game.
Team Members:
The squad currently consists of myself, Mhmd, Takafumi and Waffletown. I'll be leading the project, handling PR and updates, as well as assisting with QC and text editing. Mhmd will be handling the translating, though we're absolutely open to more potential translators joining up to split the workload, since it's a big VN. Takafumi is our fearless image editor, as he's got plenty of RLDev and photo editing experience, and Waffletown will be handling the first run of QC and text editing.

Literal h-scene translations can be a problem too. I might just die if I have to read about a cock "clawing away at her inner walls" one more time. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if "beat that pussy up" was a literal translation too, based on how so many literal translations end up sounding more like snuff than sex.
I support creative translations in h-scenes, as long as the translator or editor actually understands what is and isn't erotic for english readers.

Somewhere in the middle. Ultimately it has quite a few h-scenes, but the common route is fairly lengthy without one. Also there are 2+ routes for each heroine, with no overlapping scenes so that adds to the count quite a bit, whereas most VN's don't have unique scenes in such situations. I mean it isn't Majikoi in quality of writing/heroines, but it was still fairly enjoyable with a solid amount of laughs.

It's OK I guess. I didn't feel as overwhelmed with h-scenes as it sometimes was with Majikoi S.

Hi folks! As I can see a few of you already noticed, our project was picked up for official localization, with a target release date of Q4 2018, and got officially announced at the Denpasoft panel. As I've mentioned before elsewhere, I tend to think it's a good thing when fan translations get picked up for official release: it means more people end up seeing and enjoying the work, and it almost invariably means a higher-quality release (not to mention: more money for the folks who work hard on these things).
Our status is more or less unchanged from what I've said previously: engine work is still ongoing, image editing still needs to be done, and then final QC once everything's implemented. It's not a short game, and there are a few unknowns still, hence the current target date in spite of the script having been basically locked for a while, but I'm sure you're all going to be very happy with the release when it's out, and I can't wait for that day to come!

While Frontwing themselves still vague at the exact release date, at least they already prepared the Steam store page for Island which mean the release date for that is almost close - VNDB listed that as this month, although I have many doubts on that though. So what's your expectation on this? Although if I may say here perhaps I should expect that it's should be almost the same as Himawari, consider that it was from the same writer (Goo). If anything, at least we can hear Yukari Tamura voicing Rinne there.

They shouldn't, it's pretty simple if it's a VN that takes place in Japan about japanese people, honorifics have no reason to be removed, honorifics is part of japanese communication paterns, it doesn't make any sense to remove them.
On the other hand if it's a VN that doesn't take place in Japan about non-japanese people such as Sharnoth or Ghakthun, then yeah honorifics should definitly be removed.

Littler Busters sold only 6.5k since it's release in November 2017, I don't think that Key/Visual Art's are too thrilled with the non-japanese consumer base.

This. Short attention spans and the need for instant gratification are much more fundamental barriers facing VNs in the west than h-scenes, cultural attitudes or any of the other issues brought up in this thread. Trying to change VNs so that they appeal more to western sensibilities is an awful idea, it'll only serve to alienate the current fanbase in pursuit of a nonexistent market. The best we can hope for is to slowly expand the current niche fanbase so that the companies can sustain themselves and we can get more and bigger releases each year. 

The sad truth is, where porn or fanservice aren't involved, those games aren't popular either. VNs are mostly about reading and no one really reads nowadays, especially gamers; the reading rates have been constantly dropping across the world. When you compare the sales numbers of popular games like Nekopara and story-driven, plot-heavy all-ages titles you will see they barely sell at all; no matter how good they are and how well praised they get by critics, Steam curators and gaming websites, they won't ever be able to fight with those. It's another reason why we get so little of them and what gets translated nowadays are typically light charage and moege instead.
VNs are destined to remain a niche and interesting vns will always be a niche within a niche. It's because the population those games were once directed at is actually declining and new generation that's ought to replace it remains completely different.

Maybe I overestimated popularity of Rance? Seems like many people aren't happy with it xD Back in 2015/2016, I remember people screaming "Give us more Rance!"... and now that Rance is coming, most of the reactions I saw so far were "meh" (granted, there's quite a few people still excited about it, but still... I was expecting more people to be hyped).
