  2. I tried to look for such a tweet but couldn't find it even when I scrolled down all the way to the 30th May, I did see an newer tweet about Momoiro Closet, but that's it. But anyway, it's obviously not very well advertised as I am sure most people don't even know that they carry this title. The situation of Subarashiki Hibi on Steam is different than other titles for reasons that I explained above, basically JAST USA version is better than the Steam version because all you need to do is download and install it.
  3. That I can agree with. Plus the way the game was distributed originally was not good, people just want to click, download and play, just like every other game on Steam. They don't want some convoluted explanation about how they would pay to get 10 percent of a game and then have to use a patch that they would download from another unrelated website to blahablahablah. It wasn't until the 30th May 2018 that the game finally became available on JAST USA as a stand-alone installer and the problem is that this fact was not mentioned anywhere else but in one of the Subarashiki Hibi Kickstarter updates, the second issue is that on the JAST USA online store games are ordered by release date of the game itself not by release date on the JAST USA website, so as soon as it got released on JAST USA website it was already burried under other titles which release dates were even younger than that of Subarashiki Hibi, not to mention I don't see JAST USA mentioning on their twitter the fact this this game was or is available on their webstore front, while they keep plugging JAST USA titles, even when it's very old titles such as Demonbane that they released all the way back in 2012, they even retweet their own tweets: Yet as far as I could tell there was not a word about Subarashiki Hibi being made available on their store. Really it's a big mess.

It seems to be the kind of translation that if you just read what's written, you won't grasp what you just read but instead you need to read the sentence and spend a minute rearranging the sentence in your head for you to try making sense out of it, it's not really engrish but it's all just very awkward sounding. I am thinking that it could be because either the translator is not an native english speaker, or because the editor(s) did not do the job properly or both. Anyway, looks like it's another quality Sekai release.

True, that's also why people call westerners (or people that are assumed to be westerners if they speak a western language online) the disparaging and derogatory made-up word "weeaboo" if they "dare" to enjoy non-white north-east asian entertainment, as a matter of fact the word "weeaboo" is thrown around quite a bit both on here and the visual novel subreddit.

Fuurinkanzan is very old and Jutai Hen seem to just be an eroge about school stuff, Elf at least uses a more original setting and would probably sell more and be more popular, it's just the kind of game that catches your attention.   11. Technically they could get away by saying: "Well, we never promised that it would be IDENTICAL to the japanese version, ehehe". It's like releasing a "Limited Edition" of a game and manufacturing 300k copies, you could always get away and say "Well it IS limited because ONLY 300k copies were made, ehehe". But like you said, it is all about a matter of principles and Sekai just doesn't care about that, they get enough money already from NEKOPARA as it is.
  12. New characters, more story content, glossary that explain stuff about railroads and trains. But having additional exclusive content for the console version is not unheard of, for example Higurashi has exclusive arcs not found on PC and that were exclusive to the PS3, PS Vita and Nintendo Switch versions. MangaGamer usually tries to incorporate both content from the PC and Console versions when they make their release, at least I know they have done this for Princess Evangile.
  13. No it's not, pure station has exclusive content not found in the western PC version, only Japan and China are getting pure station. Chinese kickstarter: https://zhongchou.modian.com/item/19365.html Notice it says "pure station", the chinese publisher is called "Hikari Field" and unlike them Sekai project didn't license that title. Basically instead what we got was some some weird hybrid hackjob made specifically for the western market in mind.

It's already released: https://vndb.org/r52314 But this is an All-Age version for the PS4, but note that this version is called "Maitetsu -pure station-", what we got instead is only called "Maitetsu" for the PC instead and the PC version in Japan was developed and published by Lose themselves, it is also ONLY 18+ with no censorship: https://vndb.org/r42038 Basically this censorship in a PC 18+ release is pure nonsense.
  15. Don't worry, Rewrite is still one of the best VN ever made, it's right up there together with Subarashiki Hibi: And one day we will get Rewrite+... Around the same time when Sekai'll release the Vita versions of the Grisaia Trilogy, the EU PS Vita version of Root Double and the 18+ version of G-senjou no Maou.
  16. This is not new at all, it is standard fare for Kickstarters, this why I stopped backing Kickstarters since 2017, too much BS going on with these. Subarashiki Hibi was released on August 30th 2017, I think they finished patching the game since November or something? So they basically had a final patched build since ~8 months ago or so and they still haven't manufactured the reward goods for whatever reason. But like I said this is pretty standard, usually you need to wait years for the physical rewards.

  18. With hundreds/thousands of VN releasing per year in Japan, this and other VN titles still sell, this is why they just re-released it again because it was so sucessfull, so that's no excuse. Publishers and developers expect to sell their games and make some revenues at release or at the very least a few months after release, not in 10 years.
  19. Please keep on doing what you're doing, the official patch is crap and we'll still not have parity with the japanese version. This patch is the only hope to get the unaltered japanese version but with english text!

Isn't the point of going into this kind of establishment to get naked and going in wearing a towel on is a big no-no in Japan? At least that is according to what Emiya Shirou said from Fate/hollow ataraxia.
  21. Obviously from looking at the amount of votes on vndb and the fact that the game is readily available for uhm... "free" everywhere, though what's available for "free" is an older build from September 2017 and Subarashiki Hibi got a few patches since then. As Doddler mentioned on his twitter in October 2017 with the release of Saku Saku, usually people that play pirated copies are stuck with v1.00 versions since that's only what floating around on the net and patches/updates are not distributed stand-alone. It's a big change as far as Makura/KeroQ are concerned at least, this was their first attempt at releasing one of their VNs outside of Japan and for that they chose one of their most acclaimed VN, only to have it sell 2-3k in about a year (that's with including Kickstarter backers who got their steam digital download copies from there). VN Fans: "Please Please, release Muramasa in english... What's that? No, I don't care that it's a 200 hours long title with no heroines, this game is EPIC and we'll definitly buy it if you release it!" *few years later* VN Publisher: "Okay we have released Muramasa in english now, please go ahead and buy it" VN Fans: *torrents Muramasa away and uses money to buy NEKOPARA 11 and Funbag Fantasy 5 instead*

The House in Fata Morgana has been discounted as low as 12 bucks 5 times already and doesn't have any voices either, it not fair to compare a relatively lower cost indie game to a high end game that has 100 hours+ of text and voiced content and that was only ever discounted down to 25 bucks or so, it's just not the same budget, cost and risks, the effort, investment and work involved are just not on the same level. 8.5k might be good enough for a title of this caliber and budget, but saying that is sold EXTREMELY well is an overexageration, especially compared to other titles that sold 20k, 50k, 100k or more. It's not just my opinion though, Subarashiki Hibi is one of the highest rated game on vndb: Right between Muramasa and Higurashi, not far off from CLANNAD and Fate/stay night.
