  1. This was the last update on the matter: http://blog.mangagamer.org/2019/07/02/payment-processor-issues/ I haven't seen them address the issue since then. Higurashi Chapter 7 came out on the 18th and it's customary for MangaGamer to announce the next upcoming game that's coming out the following month just after a game's release and it's been like that for years, however it seems that due to the on-going situation with the payment processors that this hasn't happened yet.
  2. Was just wondering which might be everyone favorite Key title.
  3. News report from CNN: I first discovered KyoAni when I watched the anime adaptation of Kanon, Air and Clannad many years ago. That's also how I discovered Key:
  4. Found additional info: The arsonist proclaimed "they stole my novel", apparently it seems to be related to KyoAni's yearly light novel competition, where he submitted his light novel and his application was rejected or didn't win and then KyoAni went on to make an anime leeched off his light novel whitout him getting neither compensations nor crediting for his work and ideas. Regarding the KyoAni Light Novel Competition, as an example Violet Evergarden was actually the first grand prize winner of KyoAni's light novel competition of 2014, which they later created an anime adaptation out of it. Messages from the internet: A few years ago, someone mentioned how Square Enix's story of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII was basically based off Final Fantasy fanfics. https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/619315-final-fantasy-xiii-2/63922337 No wonder Final Fantasy XIII story was a complete mess after XIII, it was a mish-mash of fanfictions (it even felt like it).
  5. Apparently the culprit's motives was that Kyoto Animation screwed him over in a deal and plagiarized his work.
  6. How is Sol Press an all-ages company? If anything, shouldn't that title be awarded to Fruitbat Factory?
  7. WTH, is the Sol Press version based on the PS2 or PC version?
  8. I don't really like moege or anything but I managed to finish Trinoline.
  9. Don't forget The Shadows of Pygmalion, also from propeller.
  10. Actually I remember that Happymaher was classed in the "Moege" category by MangaGamer during one of their sales. Pretty much all story VN didn't sell so well or took to much time and money to translate and release while still not selling as well as less expensive licenses. Look at Da Capo 3, game took Kouryuu years to translate and it didn't look like it sold so well despite all the time, money and effort they invested into. I am not interested in Moege or Nukige, but from a business point of view story VN are not very viable compared to the other priorly mentioned genres.
  11. I had the same exact issue and when I looked to see what CG I was missing someone else on the internet mentioned having the same exact CG missing and now this thread too, so this is obviously some kind of bug with the game, for some reason that CG will not unlock in the CG gallery.
  12. Now the only outdated one is Rance IV, Rance 01, 02 and 03 are remakes and V and VI are not so outdated. Agreed, main reason why I haven't started playing them eithe, MangaGamer was like "It's okay, you can start at the end, it doesn't make a difference", but yeah.
  13. It just means that the japanese have a better grasp at the language!
  14. Yeah I was thinking that this was the same reason why official VN publishers announced titles years ahead (pretty much as soon as they get the license or not too long after).
  15. I see that's interesting, I went on the author/creator official website and it says in english that he quit making games because of piracy, so I am guessing he decided to quit in 2017-2018 after New Glass got released and since he quit already he probably doesn't care anymore whether his work gets translated. Yeah, people already theorized that the game would not get the 18+ way back when it was announced, it will probably just cut off the 18+ content the same way that all the western-made All-Age version on Steam do it.
  16. Wait so are these two games coming out in english then? I remember a few years back that the author said that he didn't want his work to get translated neither from him nor others because foreigners will just pirate his game (he isn't wrong)?
  17. Japanese is just not an accessible language to most westerners who just do not have the necessary memorization capacity to retain thousands of convoluted characters to memory, this is why western publishers of japanese games such as Atlus USA, Idea Factory International, XSEED, NIS America, Koei Tecmo America, Bandai Namco America, Manga Gamer, Sekai Project etc. are in buisness as they offer something that is not available to everyone, meaning a japanese to english translation, bar that they would have gone broke a long time ago as all of these mentioned publishers don't develop their own games, they just localize japanese titles in english. If japanese was an accessible language to western language speakers, nobody would wait months or years for the english localizations, but would just go and buy the japanese versions off an import website.
  18. Fixed. Yeah I'd like to know too, I quite liked the original title.
  19. I am guessing you have a hard time with moege?
