Current thoughts about Princess Evangeline: Why the hell isn't there a route for Ruriko?

Finished Canvas 2 yesterday, it was a mixed bag switching between enjoyable and testing my patience. Here's a short summary: Positive: -Mouth animations, it gives a little more depth to me as a reader and I like it (just like in ef- a fairy tale of the two.). -Routes are short and enjoyable -The art at the end of some routes is really beautiful Negative: -The protagonist is generic, dense and was testing my patience the whole time. He used words like idiot maybe 100's of time alone during Elis route and I think he's generally badly written. -80% of the common route consists of: waking up, wake up Elis and have breakfast, go to academy, moan about how tired you are, choose a heroin to talk/stalk, go home and eat dinner with Elis. Sleep and repeat. I wish there would have been a bit more variety to it. -some routes left me really disappointed -many choices (over 70+) but they are too obvious and are just there to go to a heroin during break times, the choices don't require any effort and as I said are too obvious. Half of them could have been cut out without losing anything to the story. -there was a certain scene with Yanagi where he made me so mad and I just wanted to beat him up and drop the VN. It was the best/worst scene in the VN but in the end it was badly executed and disappointing. Next up: Princess Evangile to calm myself down with moe.

SekaiProject day 1 purchase: Boku to Koi Suru Ponkotsu Akuma., other titles depend if there is a 18+ release or not. Degica day 1 purchase: Kimi ga Nozumi Ein. Confession: I manipulated my friend into playing euphoria yesterday.

After reading for 3 days straight I finished Ever17. It's one of those VNs which I start to read and suddenly it's 1 am and I notice that I've been reading for 4-5 hours straight. First thing that I noticed was that it doesn't waste my time. I started reading and in less than an hour, BAM you're trapped. Enjoy! There is no long and boring common route story for the characters which can sometimes kill a VN's enjoyment for me. The story captures you and doesn't let you go until the end. Another thing that I really liked were the philosophical questions. It reminded me of how much I loved Ghost in the Shell's philosophical aspect. I enjoyed Sora's route the most, maybe it's because of the VA Hiroko Kasahara (Phorni from Symphonic Rain). Overall Ever17 was a great read and it's been a while since I enjoyed reading through a VN without getting bored. As for my next read... I guess I'll give Canvas 2 a try.

My friend told me to read Ever17 and if I don't like it I should just die. (he's a bit tsundere) So yeah, I guess I'll be reading it, it was a pain to get it to run without crashing.

I think that he meant SukiSuki since it actually won the Moe Game Award for Game Design last year and not the gameplay VN. Edit: It could be IZUMO 4 since it won that award too and it's a VN with gameplay.

EarthBound comes into my mind, if you like turn-based combat, quirky humor with changing themes, cosmic horror and chaotic fantasy. Mix it together with childish graphics and you'll get EarthBound.

My update on Phantom Brave PC: After grinding for 15 hours, all my characters are now around level 120-150 and I managed somehow to fusion a level 900 sword with +9000 attack. The combat is now tolerable since I'm one hit killing anything. As for the characters so far I only like Marona, maybe it's because everyone else is behaving like an ass towards her. Oh, and Ash is still shouting: For her sake, I will not fail! Maybe he'll learn some other sentences until the end of the game. (I really hope so)
