If Steam will once again let pubs tell folks there are restoration patches it will be fine. I wasn't a fan of the platform for any VN that wasn't all ages after that started. I mean sure I could hunt the patches down if they existed, but it was a lot of unnecessary work on my end.

The Fakku Version is complete out of the gate at $29.99.

This patch only works with FAKKU version currently, so if you want to use the demosaic patch you will need to purchase that version of the game. I'm pretty sure the patch that restores the content the Lose cut will work either version, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

I think a free patch would satisfy most people. Though it will make people question if Nutaku is really committed to uncensored releases. They can yell payment processors till hell freezes over, but if MangaGamer can sell Sweet Sweat and Imouto Paradise people are gonna call BS on that.

The idea the government has to be involved before it is actual censorship is nonsense. The Merriam-Webster definition of censor is as follows: Nowhere is that does it say anything about the government. An official could be anyone in position of power at a company or organization.

Since I don't know if Sekai is bringing over the full products or not I just cannot be excited for what they have announced. I have no issues with supporting them, but I don't buy censored games.

They've pretty much spent up all the goodwill I had left for them as well. We'll have news at or before AX they said, and here we are at the con after that and still nothing.

My guess is Baldr's Sky will end up with a 18+ patch. The fallout if it doesn't will be epic. Maitetsu, on the other hand is pretty much screwed, cause they outright said it depends on how well it does on Steam if they will do a patch or not, and a lot people are not going to spend money for an edited version with no promise of restoration patch.

That is exactly what they said about Maitetsu during last month's live Q&A, which btw has been removed from YouTube. The reason I know this is I asked the question to which I was scoffed at and basically told to enjoy the game for the world and story and if it done well enough on Steam they'd think about it. Now I understand that content is controversial, but they knew what was in that before they decided to pick it up for publishing. Furthermore if they are willing to take that stand with that title, they would surely do the same with others down the line.

and this gets even more dicey when group 2 is forced to purchase an edited edition before they will even consider bringing over the rest of the content. It's like we'll give what parts of this game we think is acceptable, and if your good boys and girls and give us money you can have the rest of it.

They should have prioritized the 18+ version to come out closer to the Steam version judging how well the AA version is doing on right now. http://steamspy.com/app/345620 It's things like this is what makes the 18+ users feel like they don't care about them, and honestly they make it sound that way themselves.

I don't mind paying a little extra for the 18+ content, however it should not cost as much as the base game does. You pay double the price for Nekopara to have 3 H scenes that's a little ridiculous. If the patches had been 5 bucks instead of 10 I think this wouldn't have been such an issue. Though I will say it bothers me far more when VNs are butchered for Steam and no content patch is offered. I just pass on those in general cause I don't support censorship.
