  1. Not sure if anyone is still monitoring this thread, but a second technical issue I ran into still hasn't been addressed. This is, in large part, because a message to @Nayleen never went through, so I've been waiting for a response to a message he never got in the first place! As soon as this is addressed, I'll put up a new warning and get the upgrades up and running ASAP.
  2. Just waiting on a little security change via Nay before I get this done. Gratzi, hero @Nayleen!
  3. Update 1 (12:45 AM EST) Technical issues have caused a hiccup in tonight's upgrade process. Going to ping Nay and we'll try again later today. For now, the forums and front site will be put back online. Original Message: Forums Going Offline at 12:00 (Midnight) EST In approximately 1.5 hours (at the time this goes live), the forums will be going offline for an unknown amount of time so that I can perform an outrageous amount of updates and fixes. I will announce when the forums are back online on our Twitter account (link). Please panic, and may the VN gods have mercy on our souls. (Aside: after the forums are updated -- or irreparably broken -- I will also be working on the front site. Once that's done, if I have any energy and strength left in my body, I will try and make a post updating the community about recent events which have caused my absence, and briefly touch on ways we can move forward.) < 3 - Tay
  4. I'd love to consider adding yours (and several more) review blogs to the hub. The hub has stalled recently due to a complicated CMS bug, but the developer actually got back to me yesterday with a customized patch, and I hope to get it installed before this weekend. Afterwards, I should be able to add you. Just submit your site details per the link posted above and we can work on that! The hub structure and guidelines will be part of the site work this summer, and I'm hoping to bring more clarity to it and the other site projects. Going to plug the recent survey and ask everyone to submit their gripes, questions, and concerns!
  5. This is something I'd like to post about on the front site. A community update is long-overdue and there's a lot to talk about. I haven't looked at the analytics for a few weeks, but the site's still growing traffic-wise. The front site's major traffic goes to VNTS and Reviews. Kaguya showed some of the forums data, I'll add that walkthroughs are still big. And VNTL-Moon, oddly, is still getting traffic despite being woefully outdated and buggy.
  6. Hi everybody, It's been a while. I'll make a personal update post at some point, but for the moment I'm posting to ask our users to take the first of what may be a series of surveys we put out this Summer. This first survey is essentially an open invitation to tell me exactly what problems are bothering you about the site, anonymously. My site work this Summer will be heavily influenced by this survey, so if you care about Fuwa and want to see site improvements, please participate. Survey Link: https://goo.gl/forms/DHWvWdmusKKXZBh43 I want to thank @Emi for a recent email, @Clephas for some recent posts in the forums I've read which gave me encouragement, all our moderators, @Decay for his patience with my crazy schedule and a soft VNTS pause, and all of our users for keeping Fuwanovel alive. Much love to all of you. Tay
  7. Nobody in their right mind would have recommended Hoshizora. So I'm going to say it's a bug.
  8. Nothing big or front-facing, but lots of behind-the-scenes updates. Search will be wonky for a few hours, but in theory it'll be more effective at parsing threads than before. If you run into technical issues or your themes are bugging out, let me know. In theory everything should be fine, but we all know that's not the Fuwa way.
  9. No major changes or bugs should be experienced. If you run into something, however, post them here and I'll take a look!
  10. Thanks for always posting these reviews! And for your kind words in the comments section : )
  11. Thanks for bringing this bug to my attention. I'll be sure to break it as soon as possible. Save it for the inquisitor.
  12. I'm alive (more on that in this morning's upcoming VNTS post)! What's more: I've sought out stable internet, and I've given Fuwa a good ole six-hour blitz. Lots got done, but I think you'll all be very glad to hear that... All themes should be back up and running! Let me know if you run into problems with any of them! I fixed the thing. I removed the other thing. I've flagged all accounts who turned traitor and used Rooke's Crappy Default Theme. They are traitors to the cause and will be punished. Once more we are all equal, and some are more equal than others. Joking aside, themes should work. Give it a go, and let me know what I unintentionally broke.
  13. Update: There's an issue with the way I remotely authenticate and access the server. I messaged @Nayleen and as soon as we get that resolved, I'll get themes and all forums software updated and, hopefully, "fixed." PSA: Rooke's Crappy Default Theme MAY be the "best working" theme at the moment, but it's gauche and sucks. It's not worth it. Do not listen to Rooke.
  14. What is dead may never die. Shaddup, Rooke.
  15. Had a problem with getting the new themes. Should have them up sometime today.
  16. Probably. Almost certainly over, that is. In any case, the forums software will be running some indexing behind the scenes and things could yet get wonky. If you run into bugs, please speak up in this thread. There are also several new features to the blog, but I left the list of them back in the United States and will need to recompile it. In the meantime, just assume that everything you like is filled with sparkly updates, and everything you dislike went away. EDIT: The visual formatting of the forums are a bit off as well. This has to do with our various forums themes. As soon as I get home tonight, I'll start the laborious process of updating them, and then things should be pretty once more. (Except for Rooke's theme. That one's just crap.) EDIT: I mentioned it in the blog post, but whenever you come back and notice the forums are alive, please drop a big "Thank You!" to Nayleen (and, to a lesser extent, Invision) for bringing us back from the edge of the abyss!
  17. Another tragically successful forums update. Not much to put here by way of changes just yet, but please let me know if you have weird bugs or problems crop up.
  18. Apparently the forums just updated. As far as I'm aware, nothing major was changed. All the same, made a thread for complaints/bug reports because that's my #brand.
  19. Going to do some theme updates this coming weekend, but didn't have time today. The spam issue took too long. Please ping me on Skype if spam doesn't improve.
  20. Unfortunately, my forum maintenance appears to have worked and everything is working. Please let me know if you run into bugs (because, frankly, there WILL be bugs). Rough Change log: Spam is dead? I think I fixed everything that was allowing for spammers to get in. Please keep an eye out, and ping me on SKYPE if things don't get better. This is a crazy week for me, and Skype will be the most reliable way to get me until Sunday when my exams end. A new moderator setting to restrict users from ignoring moderators. Thoughtcrimes detected and purged A new group setting to allow members to lock their own content. A new group setting to hide a group from filters in search. A secret group headed by you-know-who dedicated to hating on kittens and puppies was found and destroyed When moving content moderators are now prompted for where you want to be redirected after the action. Activity Streams can be created with condensed view as default. All users are equal, but some are now more equal than others. An email is now sent when an account is locked for too many bad login attempts. Rooke deleted. Again. Feedback is also appreciated, as always.
