  1. Reading Flyable Heart with TA (translation aggregator) ITH (interactive text hooker) Mecab & Jparser, other dictonaries and Atlas at the side. It is interessting to say the least. Although damn slow Pretty impressive tools fans have made to read Vn's B)
  2. Welcome, to the, DARK side of the moon! Just kidding~~ I am currently learning japanese as well, dedication and years are the most important factors it seems. Being busy alot too, I cut down abit on doing whatever and do study jap about 30 min each day. I love Key as well, they make amazing vn's. Looking forwards to reading Rewrite which is soon done. (I want the complete translation.)
  3. The music is a really important part of the game imo. It sets the mood and brings back memories when you listen to it later. The most impact a soundtrack for me Saya No Uta OST, the game is a massive mind **** and listening to it makes me go totally O_O SAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, Saya is here everything is okay... ;..; Every VN improves the music after being read, if the vn is awesome. So will the music be as well,. (Well afterwards anyway) I sometimes like to listen to OP of previous read VN's on youtube, makes me go totally nostalgic. My favorite Vn soundtracks are from Clannad, Ever17 and Saya no uta.
  4. Ah man D:, get well! And come back to us! We miss you.
  5. There is infact alot of people who have read the translation and enjoyed it, most of them didn't hear about the lack of "quality" translation beforehand. Those who did, mostly complain saying it is horrible and unreadable. When they complain it's mostly if they see typos or they are quoting someone else opinion. Most people can't see the difference anyway, as they aren't translators themselves. As long as people can enjoy the transation, it doesn't matter if it isin't 99.99% accurate. (Even less important is that in the less story driven vn's) The translators don't own anything to the creators, they are fan tranlations. If you want a 100% accurate translation as so many is applauding, you should learn japanese youself and read it in japanese. That is how o'holy Ixrec is thinking, as he haven't read a single english translated VN. He wouldn't dirty the holy story's of the creators. That should state how important he thinks of being accurate and how he will view lesser translated vn's. Not that I am against Ixrec he has translated alot of good stuff and likely will keep on doing so. But this elitsim doesn't help the community, transations or expantion to the west. It just makes it worse. Though it is not surprising how strongly some feel about quaility, thinking about the crazy amount of hours they use to translate. It goes without saying, that it is not only pride that is at stake, but also the thought that you have created something that you feel matter, somthing you can feel proud of and is perhaps a work of art. By not stressing the importance of quility you will by yourself state that someones accurate and more time staking work is of the same value. How despicable don't you think? tl;dr: Enjoyment is up the the reader, quaility is up to the tranlator. Translate as you wish, but don't scorn those who don't do as you.
  6. The backup shouldn't be a problem. Donno where she is though. Moving the Blog to this site or somewhere else should be for the better, I agree. Anyway, let's just wait and let the events unfold for now.
  7. Merry Christmas and a happy drunk day!
  8. Not in any order... 1. Houzuki, from sharin no kuni. He is just a badass in so many levels. I don't know where to even start -As Premagate said. pretty much all protagonists from looseboy's creation, generally a well-written protagonist with badass personality and bright mind. 2. Takeru, from Muv Luv Alt. So human, so awesome and yet so fragile. 3. Taichi, from Cross Channel. He struggles to be with other people, yet he wants to be with them. So human :.( 4. Kagami Kouhei, from Yume Miru Kusuri. I don't really like him or anything at all.. But he is just so strikingly similar how I was around my teen's, it is scary... 5. Okabe Rintarou, who is hilarious and in a nerve wrecking story? Yup, he is. 6. Takamine Yuuto, from Ein no Aselia. Not sure why I think he's so good, I just do haha. Maybe the way he constantly fight's against insanity and fighting on.
  9. Going to wait a while before I start "rewatching" the movie. So I forget the plot mostly :D/>
  10. Welcome! I loved both Ever17 and LB. Enjoy
  11. Looked at the last one.. Actually, if you notice what the "proffesor legi" here says. I quote "medium" he says. Not games-... So he misquotes on purpose what the statistics says. You would naturally think that medium he talks about is games, but Infact it it is not. If you look at the statistics given by TB, self-written media (texts) is the higest likelyhood of creating more violence. What a corrupt ass. The media just loves to manipulate information.
  12. TB have made alot of vidoes I disagree with too, but this one is good. I think VN's have a similar problem like that of video games. Media and other stuff have put it in a bad light and therefore we look down or away from them. I did this before I tried them. Boy were they different than I thought they were lol. I thought they were all just dating sims with tentacle hentai. But I was wrong. It existed alot of very long and good literature with use of more kinds of media. How awesome. About the Media... I agree 100% with what Totalbiscuit said. The media is currupt with the only importance of earning money. I can take a example from my country Norway. We had a shooting with a crazed man killing around a 100 young people at a political camp. He also blew up a big bomb at our government's main building. All very big new's here in Norway, as nothing really interesting happens here. Worst that could happen is, a politician driving his tractor to work. We heard contiued to hear new's and dicussions about it everyday, in the papers, on the radio, on the tv for a year. A year! Now a 1 year and a half it has died down and he's in prison. Really pisses me off how they put so much focus on it when there are so many people who are griefing over people that are close to them they lost. Getting reminded of those you have lost so often doesn't help with your grief, it makes it worse. The media have lost my respect after that. Also, pretty sure this comes under /Other talk, so its k
  13. Stay away, is what I would do. This VN is supposedly a very advanced in that it has multiple writing styles, etc. I would not watch the anime or read the vn before becoming more advanced with the language. As it would be like reading one of the vn's in "what beautiful series" with ATLAS. It would be a waste. A review by ixrec (He is a well known translator): http://amaterasu.tindabox.net/blog/?p=1605 Also Moogy *Pfff* said something in the lines of: it being a test of a translator to translate it, because you have to sdapt such a elaborate use of language which is almost "impossible" So, I would play a other vn than this ^^
  14. Well, I don't have anything against mangagamer but even if they have intrest in it. It will take quite some time before they will get a deal. translate it, bug fix, wait for japanese creators then release it. Even more so when they got so bad sales on the pervious DC. Why wait for a probably translation in the future, if someone is willing to 100% translate it now?
  15. As Jun said. I would plainly say its a story driven vn. With moe and some stuff usally there in VN's
  16. It stuck me, some people won't know that new games have been added to the site without reading this thread. Maybe there should be a messege or feed of somekind so it comes up in the news section on the fuwanovel front page. Some kind of coding, each time a new vn is added would be most practical as adding it manual each time would be a bother. Just a thought. Would do it if I could code >.<
  17. Welcome! To yet another corner of the interwebs~ ┻━━┻ ︵ヽ(`Д´)ノ︵ ┻━━┻ .... wait.. I listen to saya no uta OST and find it relaxing >_< If I show a psychologist 2 hours of the game, then ask what they think. They'll likely say I got some kind of mental problem. ^^ ┳━━┳ヽ(´Д`)ノ┳━━┳
  18. Not completely sure what you are thinking but... (404 Bolverk's brain not found. Needs moar sleep.) I think this is what you are looking for: http://amaenboda.wordpress.com/2012/03/26/an-aero-gamers-guide-to-using-atlas/ The guide also aside from ATLAS, also covers: TA (translation aggregator) ITH (interactive text hooker) Mecab & Jparser TAHplugin, TAHelper, and the replacement script Other translators
  19. soungs good, I like it. We could have it just for Chinese and add the less popular language patches on the game pages. German, spanish, etc. If we do this not sure if we should have the chinese version there too. They have their own "site" so to speak. But some might not find the button. Well It just struck me, how many Chinese use google translator on the sites ^^ Some might. If they do that, they would ignore the button and not find the patch and get confused. lol.
  20. You, thinking about adding patches other language patches to the current pages with english downloads on fuwanovel? Or making new sections with preinstalled chinese versions, german etc? I thinkt its fine just adding new links to the current pages. But for people who only would like chinese versions a flag button as Tromend says is a good idea. Also kinda makes me wonder if how many who can read chinese who would visit this site also can read english.
  21. Ok, if I were you I would go to daviantart its a big site for digital art and etc art. Search around there for a style you like, if you find a good picture ask the creator if you can use it or if he can make a new one for you. Many people there find it fun and proud to be reqognised for their skills so they may do it for free. Good luck.
  22. Yeah, I really liked the vn too. Man, you become like 0_o what is going on!? The ending is epic. Reminds me I haven't read the other endings. They are on youtube I am pretty sure, those who have completed the game should watch them too. Poor Taku.. Luckely I didn't watch the anime at all. Haha.
  23. Welcome! Seems, alot like to lurk some before joining. That's okay Omg yes, reading position is a great matter. I used alot of money on a armchair, which is very comfortable. I put my laptop on my lap and lean back. Put game on auto read, then I don't move a muscle for hours. Brilliant. Doubt I could read that many Vn's as I have without it. Everyone has their tastes, though. I kinda dislike goro lol. I learned english by 10 000's of hours of reading, tv, etc. Learning jap the same way is going to take some time. So I atleast decided to learn more seriously, going to take some time that too :D/> (Yes, I read all of your wall of text lol.)
  24. Welcome Finjas! 15-20 novels is not a small amount lol. Takes some time to complete that. I have completed 30 now and I've played for 2 years now. I'm learning japanese too. I think everyone who has tried learning kanji, will know the suffering of forgetting it the very next day lol. :D/>/>/>/> Okay.. Wait, what. You.. You... You're from North Korea aren't you!!! .......Anyway, have a great time here
