  1. @boringsoul Hello! just a suggestion, it'll be good if you put your vndb up when asking for suggestions. Have you read Steins Gate? if you haven't, go read Steins gate! Also I second this ^ , well written stories with a vast and variety of topics discussed throughout. The school bits are very minimal. That includes Tokyo Babel, the characters and developments are primarily focused on climbing the levels of this structure. The characters are amazing, well throughout out story and progression, dramatic events and interesting banter. The fight scenes are some of the best among the translated Vn's currently out there. The characters use the school to mainly rest and organise themselves. https://vndb.org/v12260 I haven't read it but i've heard good things about it. I think @Dergonu read it, so you can ask him about the translation quality and story. Have fun mate!
  2. Watching Aria: The Origination, slowly, savouring 1 episode at a time, occasionally, over a month. Man I love this series for so many reasons. The music [THE MUSIC], ambience, the characters, the humour, conversations and scenes that evoke so much of emotions. There's so much passion and life in the characters. The world of Aria is so ideal, beautiful and serene. Everyone loves their roles in this world fervently, finding joy in their simple yet grand existences. As a viewer, it fills my heart with happiness and love, watching this anime makes me feel that way in every single episode. It just can't help but gift me happiness in such a forward and honest way. I have literally shed a few tears just by how happy I get in certain episodes [okay a lot of episodes!]. I 'feel' Aria and it fills me with love and warmth. I think that's the simplest way of putting it. I don't think there's another show out there that is quite like this, or evokes such strong positive emotions from me. Every element just comes together so beautifully. Of course there are bits that are melancholic, but that's fine, those scenes have a purpose in their creation, and it ultimately leaves you feeling content and humble. I want to drag this season for as long as I can, I'm trying to sip and savour this smooth drink and remember the moments, so that I can tap into my memory banks when I need a smile. Every scene, every character, I love them all. I'll be sad when this journey ends, but i'm so happy that I got to experience it, and that I took my time with all the seasons. Beautiful.
  3. Just watched this, it stars Sam Rockwell and Kevin spacey as his robot companion. Its about an astronaut on a three year solo mission on the moon, maintain machines that are harvesting the moons surface for helium 3. With only two weeks left on his contract, he's anxious to go home and be reunited with his wife and daughter. He begins experiencing hallucinations and after an accident, things go very wrong... Its a Sci-Fi mystery that's compelling in its exploration of the effects of solitude and loneliness. Its a good film with fantastic acting and old school Sci-Fi effects. Check it out! ps: Kaya Scodelario's in it briefly [Effy! ].
  4. Yeah it'll just mean that they'll be slower to release A-3 because they'll have to work on the first game a bit for JAST. They released two A games last year [or was it this year?], those guys work fast when they have the time man. All we got to do is chill and they'll release stuff eventually . Great that they're getting some paid work, maybe JAST will license the rest if the first one does well.
  5. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/3917267/japanese-man-fell-in-love-sex-doll/ http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/true-stories/looking-for-love-unhappy-japanese-men-turn-to-silicone-sex-dolls/news-story/009af6032b995a149ff0d3f5127058d1 Now this is pretty bad, I mean they bring the dolls home to their families. They shirk their children and wives in favour of being with the dolls, pretty selfish and awful of those among them that do that.
  6. Yeah, I also found it amazing that he's brave enough to take the doll out in public. I mean he could face a lot more than ridicule, like you know some people with a disposition to beating up people that are different from them, might jump him or something. Its really intriguing, this world he created for himself. I think people can do whatever they want to make themselves happy, as long as they're not hurting other living things, themselves [cause that would be sad], or watching others get hurt. Without prejudice of course. If it makes him happy, good for him .
  7. I just started reading it and I'm liking it so far, the characters are adorable and the general feel of the VN is bright and cheery. Just the Vn I was looking for after reading DI [wanted a switch]. Since you finished it, how long is Ame's route compared to the other girls? and is it advisable to finish the normal route after the 4 girls or the order doesn't matter? Thanks!

  9. When you initial said that you despised [its a strong word] Asia, I was curious as to why. Thanks for clarifying. I think a lot of people would agree with you about some, if not all of those points. Cheers man.
  10. Yeah I agree with you, I made a mistake by replying. I should have just said nothing and let it go. I feel bad that our back and forth 'dirtied' a peaceful topic now. If the mods viewed it as ugly and removed my comments I'll be fine with that. I'm fine with people reading the back and forth, it just feels unnecessary and -ve for this topic.
  11. Okay you quoted me. Well I think some Asians might feel offended that he views their cultures with contempt and disgust but that's his opinion. Okay man, cheers.
  12. I tagged him in my question, it was directed at him not you. You tagged me in your reply relating to what I asked him. I didn't see why you felt the need you push yourself into my simple question. I never said everyone here never appreciated your thoughts, I just meant in this situation where I'm asking someone else something, I didn't appreciate your need to push yourself into a question I asked another person. You started it by tagging me directly in your reply with an answer to a question I asked him. I wasn't being passive aggressive, I was being plain aggressive because it annoys me when people answer for others. I don't have any intention to strawman you, why should I aim to defeat your argument when I never intended to get into one with an unrelated person in the first place. Its fine if it got ugly, I stand by what I said, you stand by what you said, that's it. Its not like I'm going to hold a grudge on you or I suddenly hate you or something. That would be even more pointless. If you wanted to introduce it into the forum discussion, why did you tag me in it and start of by saying winterfury is a culturalist and not a racist, and then go on to define racism and culturalism based on my question to him...That had nothing to do with "what do we seek from vns". You tagged me and you replied to me about whether winterfury is a culturalist. Your second paragraph was your explanation about you and your thoughts about Japan.
  13. He said he despises the culture of an entire continent. Hence I asked what he meant. I didn't say he was racist, I was asking his thoughts on it. I didn't condemn him for anything so I don't see why you feel the need to start a pointless discussion about an abstract idea like culturalism [its a concept] and plugging me with this whole generalisation of peoples views about racism and such. When did I assume he was racist? I never assumed that, I was just asking him for clarification, his thoughts. You are assuming my intentions and what I meant. I rather not continue this pointlessness further. Please motivate yourself to giving someone else your thoughts. Honestly I'm just look at what I asked him and its just a simple question, I'm not saying he is a racist, all I'm saying is if he's not fine with the people, would he then consider himself one. I don't know how that got contrued to me assuming that he is in fact a racist. Sigh... Oh well I'll go watch Aria.
  14. I know what a culturist is mate, but there's also such a thing as cultural racism. I was asking him since I don't know him at all since I wouldn't know his actually view on the matter unless he mentions it himself. There isn't enough information provided to form a clear picture on where he actually stands. He says he despises Asia, he feels contempt and repugnance for Asia by definition. There are 48 countries in Asia, each with each own sets of culture and beliefs among many other things. I'm sorry but I don't see the point of you answering for another person when there is simply no need, i directed the question at the person I tagged. Did winterfury give you permission to be his voice? If you know him incredibly well and understand his believes then you should probably state that first. Cultaralism is abstract compared to the definitions of racism. Anyway I'm going to cut myself short. My intention was just to ask him and it'll be up to him if he divulges his opinion on the matter or not. Its well within his rights to simply ignore the question. Cheers.
  15. Ah I see, so you dislike the culture, but you're fine with the people? if not, would you consider yourself racist? [not attacking you btw, just a mere question]
  16. Do you despise the people or the continent? PS: Basically I'm asking you if you are racist against Asian people or you dislike the weather in Asian countries or something.
  17. I've always been a seeker of stories since I was a kid, my discovery of Vns as a medium just gave me another road to take my strolls on. I realize that some Vns may be cliched or similar to each other with slight alterations, but that doesn't really matter. As long as there's some heart and knowledge in it, some value to me, I'll thoroughly enjoy the journey. For example, I loved the Da Capo series, Majikoi and Koichoco as much as Tokyo Babel, Steins Gate or Dies Irae. I loved them in different ways, and learnt and felt different things from those stories. Honestly as long as you have a fervent desire for stories, it doesn't really matter what genre you're reading or how similar some stories are, you just want those words and details flowing into your mind and giving you something of value. Vns are beautiful, they tell their stories with music, art and voice acting. You don't have to build the worlds yourself, its given to you. All you have to do is sit back, get comfy and enjoy yourself. I still love reading books though, they offer different pleasures that are equally satisfying to me. Vns are just a different kind of fun . To sum it up:
  18. Could you spoil the scene for me? I shuddered when i saw the cg.
  19. I don't know subahibi and i can't imagine how important a bestiality scene is, but 10-15 lines is actually a lot of lines. So much can be said with those lines, so much can be conveyed if used properly. For example: Thats like 13-15 lines i think. So it depends on the scene in the Vn and what's being said and how its used to invoke particular thoughts and feelings from the reader. All i'm saying is 10-15 lines can mean a lot.
