  1. I've been spending so much time on anime and manga lately that when I saw the poster of the darren aronofsky movie 'Mother', i thought to myself, "hmm, a movie called Okaasan, kawaii desu" ...
  2. who is your profile picture character and artist?
  3. You should play DC 2 first. It builds up sakuras backstory and the trials and tribulations she had to go through in her storyline. Also mentioning the 'thing' she wanted most and how she achieved it and ... I actually played her route in Dc 1 before that too, since i saw her as a character that was important throughout the Dc world. She's at the core of the story at the end for the day [my opinion], since her character is always there, growing and connecting, either in a direct way or merely passing by. [you don't have to do this though, just personal preference]. Yes the drama and romance is good, you might as well just read all the the routes. A lot of people disliked one particular route, but i thought it was fine. Sometimes that one lesser route just adds to the enjoyment of better ones to follow, as long as that route isn't the 'true' route that is lol. Have fun reading!
  4. I doubt a lot of people would have the time to play random demo's of games that, may or may not, get released in a few years. I think most people play demo's of games knowing that the game would eventually get released, to get a taste and see if it's worth purchasing. It'll suck if you play a fan tl demo of say dies irae, loving it but the game ends up not being popular and developers end up losing interest because of results of that very demo . Personally things seem fine with fan tls now, they bring awareness to games and could potentially get purchased by companies like mangagamer or sekai. The possibility seems pretty good now, I already assume that projects like clover days, lover able, majo koi nikki, tsui yuri etc would end up getting picked up, maybe they already have . I wouldn't have been aware of those games if fan tl's didn't introduce them [oh like dracu riot and sakusaku 2] , i certainly wouldn't play a demo of those games if i wasn't sure they'll be out eventually. I think people [developers, fans] do a good job promoting already, they have those conventions , sites like this, steam, vndb, social media etc.
  5. What is the difference with the Jast release of Eiyuu Senki and that fan patched one? is it lacking a lot of content? i thought people were saying that version is really buggy before.

  9. I thought that Dies Irae was a pretty enjoyable read. There aren't a lot of visual novels of its kind that's been translated, so it was a refreshing experience. It had pretentious depth to it , you get the feeling like the writer just got sucked into this world he created. I didn't mind the pretentiousness, its nice to have some variation to stories. Also with all the references to religion, culture and history, its the kind of story that'll promote further reading of the subjects mentioned. Oh like clephas mentioned, i think a lot of people just started nitpicking because Dies Irae was so hyped and people were mentioning stuff like "best Vn ever!" etc. Personally I didn't find anything wrong with it, I loved the characters [va's were great!] , the music, the art, the banter, references, relationships, mystery, reveals and well, the whole grandiose play, to put it simply. There can never be a perfect story that satisfies everyone that reads it. People will always nickpick and sure they have the right to do so. Personally, in regards to stories, I rather not sweat the small stuff and just enjoy the ride. I mean I did choose to get on, and there's ample information about the kind of ride it is . This Vn will most likely make you feel and think about all sorts of things. Its a rainbow . I read the all ages version and for this particular story I don't think h-scenes were necessary, its all about the dialog and the dialog does a good job of painting a clear picture of the characters relationships. Its definitely worth reading without the h content. I pretty much forgot about the 18+ version shortly after I started reading, the story pulled me in . Cheers!
  10. I had kamidori on my laptop for the longest time, I kept telling myself that i'll get back to it and finish all the extra game content and the other routes. Deleted it recently cause I realised, that wasn't going to happen since i lost the connection to the story [been so long], and so many new Vns keep coming out . Oh, I should say that I just remove them, all the Vn's I have are on my hard drive .
  11. So for the last couple of weekends i'm been reading Dal Segno, well trying to get through it at least. I'm on Himari's route and I guess the best part about the route is the flirtatious banter between the Atsuya and her. It feels very 'real', its the kind of silly happy conversations you have with your own partners in real life, the teasing and trying to one up each other playfully. The story though..., there is simply no hook in it for me, nothing to motivate me to put more time into it. There's not much happening and when that happens, it starts feeling a bit empty. I'll read it for 15 minutes then do something else instead. Since I have the game, I feel compelled to finish it before moving on to the next Vn, so I'll have to power through it when I have the time . Anyway, maybe the story with bloom towards the end or something. I think i'm about 3/4's of the way through Himari's route, so I'm hoping it'll get better or its just her route and the others routes are actually much better!
  12. Well I posted about a single guy and a sex doll before that post, in support of it. I thought it was admirable of him to live how he wants, he wasn't affecting anybody in a bad way. I don't even think its weird, its just different [I never once said it was weird actually ]. You don't think it traumatises the kids, I think it does. Its just a difference of opinion that are both possible, depending on circumstances. Let me make it clear though, I have nothing against people liking sex dolls, I've mentioned it in my previous post, it isn't about that. People can do what they want as long as they aren't hurting others, or get off on others getting hurt. I've had my own experience regarding trauma, personally and through working with single parent households that have shaped the way I think about these things. I'm sure you have your own experiences, that shaped your own opinions of matters such as this too [regarding families and trauma]. I respect your stance on it mate. Cheers! @Jun Inoue I just read your post below, i figure i'll comment here instead of posting again , yeah I do believe that it isn't a hobby for them. They love the dolls and consider them partners [regarding the article]. One of the men [a married father of two] said that he wouldn't cheat on the doll because he considers her human and doesn't want to destroy what he has with her.
  13. Coμ - Kuroi Ryuu to Yasashii Oukoku - Deardrops Ourai no Gahkthun ~What a Shining Braves~ There's a lot more that's not included in your list, just tag translated visual novels in vndb and you'll get the full list . Oh, and I second Chelphas suggestions, great Vns [haven't read Ayakashibito yet though, saving it].
  14. I think they shirk [avoid or neglect (a duty or responsibility)] by bringing life size love dolls home. I think its really damaging to young children to have their fathers do that when they have wives or even otherwise. Fatherhood goes beyond simply clothing, feeding and sending them to school. You have to also protect your children as much as you can from things that may traumatise them. If the kids are adults and out of the house then its fine. Still... doing that when you have a wife is something incomprehensible to me. I think the reasons why his wife isn't giving him love is a question only they can answer. Normally people would try to work through the problem, separate or get a divorce. Not bring a love doll home . Personally, I think if you aren't harming anyone in any way, go love the doll all you want, its your life. When you have a family though, its a different matter entirely. Ps: I think in the articles I mentioned in that post, it shows some of them living in separate places from their families to stay with their dolls. Anyway there's a number of articles out there for people to google if they're interested. *cringe*
