  1. If the world/setting is sufficiently different enough to warrant some explanation; I don't mind infodumps. I experienced this more with book, but I was sometimes annoyed with piecing together how this worlds works over I don't know how many pages. Compared to that I would prefer a infodump in the beginning. But I like reading such world building if I am interested in the setting, so I honestly never understood the hate for infodumps.

  2. It sounds really interesting, would have loved to see this VN receive a translation. Too bad that light went under, because that only makes it more difficult to acquire the rights for some other company for a translation. But maybe not all is lost since the third game is still in development. ( I just hope that leads to more interest in a translation for the predecessors.)

  3. Despite what my avatar says, that ending (didn't know it was considered the true ending) is by far the best ending in Saya no Uta and one of the reason I hold the VN in high regard. I quite honestly never considered it a bad ending. The alternative is the kind of dull ending you expect from a standard horror movie, and it's only OK since this whole VN reminds me of Call of Cthulhu pen and paper round and the players need a way to win. But I also liked the tone of the asylum ending, even if it didn't compare to the Saya ending. In general I don't consider Lovecrafts entities to be evil, they are just alien and from that angle your interpretation isn't really far fetched at least in my book.

  4. I read most of your blog posts and as someone who cannot read japanese, the information about what is going on currently in the japanese market are somewhat limited. So those impressions are interesting for me even when I cannot read those titles right away (or in the foreseeable future) but some of those titles may see a translation down the line, and it is always nice to find a new VN to look forward to. But I guess a reader like me not very satisfying because I can't really give feedback or comment on your blog posts, because well I haven't read what you are writing about. None the less I value your blog posts and the time you put into them and would like to see you continue writing them.
