Yes. they're both different from any of the routes, especially Moon. Hell, I hate one route (Chihaya) and dislike another (Shizuru) and still think this is one of the best translated VNs out there.

Saya no Uta is pretty romantic and 18+

MLA, Saya no Uta, Higurashi, Umineko, Kara no Shoujo, Remember 11, Hanachirasu, Kikokugai, Swan Song. Also, some games get darker on some routes, like Heaven's Feel in F/SN or Akane and Terra in Rewrite.

For now, just Steins;Gate when it's released. It was one of my first VNs, and also still a favorite, and I'm curious about the improved translation.

Nah, the ending is not really a happy ending. Why? Because everything that happened in the MLA-verse, happened. The characters that you cared about? Still dead. Takeru didn't save the world, he only bought mankind 30 or so more years (said by Yuuko at the end) and hell, MLA Takeru might or might not have ceased to exist. It can be kind of a downer ending when you think about it, the final troll of Kouki. That said, look forward to The Day After

Dunno, having a big name is no guarantee that you'll get a lot of money. Yasumi Matsuno (FFT, Vagrant Story, Tactics Ogre) barely got what he needed (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/482445197/unsung-story-tale-of-the-guardians?ref=live) and his games are a lot less niche than visual novels.

Thanks for the link. It really sucks, and it seems Uchikoshi's not that confident in doing his own kickstarter. Lots of VNs have been funded that way, but it'd be dicey if he asks for over 100k (which I think he would)

I thought 999 and VLR did well enough, at least in the West, to have a sequel. Do you have a link to a newspost where they explain why they didn't greenlight a sequel?

Yeah, both are being worked on. Obviously, TDA 00 is being given priority, and right now Gabe is doing TLC. We don't have an estimate release date, though, real life can get in the way like that. But don't worry, we WILL release it. That said, extra translators are always welcome, so if anyone is interested pm me or mail Gabe at [email protected]

Agreed. I thought everyone hated Chihaya's route. It really felt out of place compared to the rest of the game, and it wasn't even good shonen (yeah, fail shonen describes it pretty well)

Remember 11 has elements from this genre (a research facility where someone is trying to kill you? yeah, that works)

Forest. I'm halfway through and somehow, I can't find it in me to finish it. Will probably start over again soon, though.

Glad this was funded, the first one is a really good VN. Yeah, sucks about Doomfest, but the most important part is the writing anyway. Now, if they'd use some of that 10k to hire an editor, that would be golden.

For mystery, I'd say try Umineko, Higurashi, Never 7, Remember 11, 999 and the newly released I/O. Also, Banshee's Last Cry is pretty good if you have an iphone/ipad, and it's only 4 bucks.

Finished I/O. Not as good as the infinity series games, and it ended on a fucking Gainax ending, but still worth playing imo.
