This question reminds me of what my favorite video game of all time is. After thinking long and hard about it, I can honestly say I know for a fact this is the best choice:
 

Exactly. I think it was Christmas 2 years ago. My little brother was 4 then and he had presents for several days. He couldn't process all the presents from the whole family and relatives so we gave him 3-5 presents each day. That way he could process it and play with one toy at a time.

I think there's a part of human psychology that see's something and says "Oh, I know what to do! Let's do that!"

It's a familiar comforting task, there's little reason (in one's mind) not to, and occasionally you get some real satisfaction/excitement/endorphins.
I think it's also important not to stress over getting to EVERYTHING. Just because something sounds interesting doesn't mean you should be flipping your mind out because you haven't gotten to it. Anime, and especially games take a long time. More selection should be a good thing, not a burden you impose on yourself.

Except with more promises of genocide and hitler worship, which, let's be fair, is never a bad thing.

From a PR perspective, clearly a total failure. From a research perspective, though, this was probably a success beyond their wildest dreams. When they get over what was undoubtedly a rather harrowing experience, I bet the people who built this are going to realize they now have a mountain of useful research data and tons of ideas for techniques to properly use that research data.

I'd love to hear how they'll analyze memes from an AI algorithm's perspective

G - Senjou no Maou is my favorite visual novel. It is great for starting visual novels.

1. Personality - You obviously need to like the character, the good and the bad.
2. Memorability - It's pretty imporant that your girl stands out from the endless sea of cardboard cutout 2D moetrash.
 
Rule of Thumb/Test yourself: Try to describe any fictional character of your choice (your "waifu" in this case) without mentioning what they look like, what kind of outfit they wore or what their profession or role in the story was. Describe the character as if the person you're talking to had neither heard of it nor the story the character came from.
The more descriptive you can get, the deeper (and therefore better...?) the character. Simple, right?
 
Unless you're one of those people who only care about them anime boobs. That's cool too, I guess.

As to my perfect waifu, most of the time, they have a good bust to them and/or a personality I'm attracted to. My waifus' personalities are all over the place.

Waifus are shit.

That's not as bad a thing as one would originally assume  : P  There's no memes and they actually put effort into making it good.  It's not the best thing I've ever read, but it's definitely worth a read, and it's free to boot.

Katawa Shoujo is one of the best VNs to read early, because later on you'll become too pretentious to appreciate it.
