I am not a huge lover of futa, but I dont mind the odd scene, however, when it is futa on man (as does happen with Marika and main character), count me out lol, truth be told I just sat laughing through those scenes, (aswell as the scat, I held skip button while laughing).
Heh, nah the route had no romance, I mean Marika had a thing for the main character (I think it was more lust than love tho), but he was basically her plaything. It is why I thought a route with some twisted romance between Marisa and protagonist could be interesting, but there wasnt one. There is a good ero scene with Sachi and Marika at the pool table tho -.-, but you have to go through a lot of unpleasant scenes in that game -.-, not really worth it. The only thing that could be called even close to romantic is protagonist and Mitarai, and that is a bit NTR for my tastes (inevitably with the type of game it is).
The game is frustrating though, a true route where you bring down Maria and maybe expose the atrocities of the household would have been good. But nope, its a h-game the bad guys must always win lol.

I know what you mean... but the classic yandere heroines are pretty rare outside of nukige, because they make it difficult to make multiheroine stories.  I mean, Kagura from Trouble@Vampire applies... but that psychotic love isn't directed at the protagonist... it's toward her little sister Kaguya.
However, the 'classic yandere' request was for the untranslated.  For translated, you are pretty much stuck with Kagome... so far no one has translated any of the really good yandere stuff outside of nukige.  I think Cao Cao from Koihime Musou is actually far less fitting... she's not the type that attaches at all.  Other people attach to her and she uses them, lol.

Kagome from Comyu is aggressive, cruel, pragmatic... but she loves the protagonist.
    Untranslated
Akane is a 'classical' yandere... in the sense of the heroine from Mirai Nikki (manga/anime).  Oddly, there just aren't that many classical yandere out there in normal VNs.  There are a lot of borderline girls and ones who take yandere in another direction, but there just aren't that many of that type out there.
Takatou Sayoko from Gun Knight Girl is of this type...
Okada Iori from Kikan Bakumatsu Ibun Last Cavalier (though really it just combines her inherently homicidal nature with a protective love for the protagonist...)

Euphoria is all about that, though you won't have an usual high school setting here.
There is a very similar thread from few days ago requesting for tsundere heroines. You should go look into that.

    I second Kagome from Comyu.
Sousou (and maybe some other characters) from Koihime Musou.
Hmmm maybe Haishera from Ikusa Megami Zero but that is a heavily edited machine translation, and more story focused. This is more of a mention than a recommendation.

Well, this is probably not at the same level, but if it's enough for you to get verbally abused by your love interest Kaori from Ace Academy (warning - non-japanese voice acting detected) is maybe my favourite tsundere. Stays occasionally hostile even after becoming a couple. Has a super-sweet side, but basically never shows it in public and you can get smacked for minor things.

I wonder how extreme examples you're looking for? I guess it has to be something beyond typical Tsundere/Coodere archetype (ex. Sakaki from Grisaia - she starts pretty seriously violent, but gets much more approachable on later on)? I have a few favourite tsundere heroines but probably not anything extreme enough to count...

If you mean heroine's as in those who end up with the MC,
Hinamori Kagome -> Comyu (aggressive, sadistic, evil-ish).
    Nemu -> Euphoria (Cruel,Sadistic)
If you don't mind it being side characters, read basically anything in the nasuverse. (Type-Moon)
It's got ton's of cruel, sadistic and evil heroines.

If she mellows with time, i guess its fine, but i don't mind if it goes all the way to down right psychotic :p, i also dig psychotic ones that get over protective of the protagonist and can go over board protecting him or getting revenge, here is somewhat of an example (even if comedic) of what i mean:

Okay then, once again I would recommend you to read both of Hakuai and Duel Savior there because those two VNs were did had Yandere heroines. If you want more, then you could try Suika and Enigma as well. Hope those recommendations would be help.

But you could achieve a hate for obsessive heroines after her Be aware.

    There's the standard one. Yandere
And then there's this one.  It's a bit of a side-thing in that it's a bad ending.  More so since she's not really a heroine and just a support character.  But she does have a couple scenes.

Finally we had Ai's patch released and for their next plan, they're gonna work on Maki's route starting from the next week. Go get Ai's patch here, and have fun. That's all for Tsujidou update this week here, and I'll try to talk about script size matter at my blogpost later.

Strike105X got a reaction from Thatcomicguy in Most enjoyable VN's read this year?
Personally i've read the Steam version. And while there are some not that great censor moments and the translation has its faults its became one of my most favorite visual novel reads ever. I was reluctant to play it at first to, due to all the comments but by the meeting in Chapter 1 near the beginning i was entranced and glued to my seat till i finished it all. Speaking of the translation while it certainly has a few issues its still miles better then the one for Chrono Clock, there are mistakes but at least it manages to pass the original feeling. That said i will probably try going for the JP vn's at one point i definitely want to try out the Shinsegumi fandisk.
To be on topic so far my favorites this year where:

Chusingura 46+1 (i read the steam one)
    Majikoi A series (from A1 to A5)
    Koihime Otome.

I'm not really that much into nukige but so far Yokouso Sukebe Elf no Mori might be a strong canditate as well, if it keeps up this momentum.

I'll tell you what I'm NOT playing - To Heart 2. After translating it and playing it endlessly and QC'ing it for a decade, I'm never touching it again unless some company wants to do an official localisation.

VNR did not work properly for me. Chiitrans however worked great, especially since i use two monitors, i can have Chiitrans on one screen and Majikoi fullscreened on the other XD.

I managed to beat Yoshitsune's route in A5, plus the accompanying options, thanks to all my previous knowledge from the series, some degree of understanding Japanese from the dialogue and the hints provided by chiitrans allowed me to get through it without breaking much of a sweet. I originally started this just because i wanted desperately to go through Yoshitsune's route, but it went so smooth that i also started Lin's route in A4, playing through it now and loving it, I'll probably just go through both A4 and A5 like this.

By the way there's a trick to getting Japanese locale within wine apps, but you have to start it on the command line or create a shortcut of sorts somewhere that calls it.
LC_ALL=ja_JP.UTF-8 wine app.exe where app.exe is the game's executable filename.

As for getting videos to play within visual novels under wine, you need to use winetricks to install ffdshow, quartz and wmp9. When ffdshow installs and the configuration window comes up, you have to enable mpeg1 playback from it which is disabled by default (many VNs use mpeg1 for video).

    1. It will work very well with your CPU, your main issue will be getting the GPU working. There is a very good driver for your GPU but it's not installed by default since it's non-free software so you'll usually be prompted to install it after installing the operating system.
    2. Visual novels will work very well under any virtualisation software - kvm is the most common one used and is free, vmware is a commercial one but works very well. The reason they work well under virtualisation is you're actually just running windows within a virtual machine. Accessing your linux files from within the virtual machine is trickier but doable. Usually you can only copy from one to the other since they're seen as two separate machines, but you can do some file sharing magic which is now getting into some more advanced functionality and non-trivial. However, in general most visual novels will actually work with 'wine' the windows emulator that doesn't need windows installed, but is a little trickier to set up. I run all of my VNs under wine. Fullscreen works on all more recent ones, but some ancient ones have trouble going full screen.
    3. The media players under linux are excellent. mpv is the best player, but if you're familiar with vlc it is equally available though as you said it didn't work for you but most people with vlc on linux have no issues.
    4. Photoshop will work under wine again, or if you install a virtual windows you can just run it under that.
Mint is still available and a fine choice, especially if you've used it in the past and familiar with it.

1-It's compatible with your hardware, no problem.
2-Either using Wine or Virtual Machine, it's doable with a bit of work (it's Linux, get ready to work a bit on it) for example you can run Steins;Gate 0 only using Wine.
3-It's weird that you have problems with VLC, really.
4-Gimp but it's less and less updated, Krita is pretty advanced, if you're ready to give it a chance.

For OS? better get some good Gnome pussy.
