Loli/Shota rule: It's teh same as normal porn rules (no sex acts, genitals, etc.) plus:  If an image is focused on, accentuates, or exaggerates a character's nipples, vulva, or penis (with or without clothing) or positions them sensually (body position, wet panties, erection, nearly naked, etc.)

Ok also guys remember that killing is also a bad thing and a very complicated topic so no talking about people killing each other in videogames and eroge, FSN is so evil! (Oh and those detective games and stuff like that, too evil to talk about. And what was it... corpse party?  - that game has even evil name!).
Actually can there be consensual murder? I guess if the person wants to be sacrificed to gods or something.
You know since the lolis in the games I play actually like it which I don't think can be said about murdering someone. But then again you cant really ask the murdered person if they liked being killed... unless they turn into a zombie or a demon... that actually has a mind... I'm pretty sure there are some VNs like that as well... I don't even want to know about them! (Don't even remind me the games that involve consensual sex with a slime [yes, its a real tag on VNDB]).

But hey, worse crap happens in the world, Apple took down games about American civil war because they have historically correct depiction of confederate flag. History used to be censored in my country too during the soviet era and stuff, its actually funny what my parents were taught at school and the actual history that happened.

But yeah, censorship is never good, usually leads into revolutions and stuff so be careful. Or people just leave somewhere without it... that's the easier way I guess.

cryofrzd reacted to Tay in PSA: Stalker Issues & Harassment Policies
Hey everybody,   Due to yet more complaints from our awesome devs, I decided to post to make the community aware that a former user is still stalking the forums and harassing users. He has gone by many aliases in the past: “OmniKnight”, “Façade”, “Ghost”, “Zodai_Strife”, “Lucia”, “Shirou”, and others. His skype username is “russelparadox” (atm appears as “Balthier”) / Okazaki Tomoya. We've been patient with this guy for a long time, and only started taking action after he started bugging devs and mentors. Today I tried talking to him directly to settle the issue, and he made it clear that he has no intention of stopping.   Omni tends to make accounts, spam PMs to members, staff, or people on the dev boards inviting them to have private Skype conversations (or join one of his Skype groups), and then tries to use them in all sorts of weird ways (ex: at one point he tried to amass a following to “overthrow” Fuwa so he could reestablish it “in the form” laid out by “the Constitution of the United States.” Like I said: odd duck). In the last few days he’s allegedly lost a major source of funding after misusing their money for his own benefit, so if he approaches you asking for money, or to join a team, or provide services, be extremely careful. It’s likely in your best interest to ignore and/or block him.   So. Reminder: If any user – no matter how new or old – contacts you and makes you feel uncomfortable, please contact a mod right away. We have a strict no-harassment policy here on Fuwa.    Thanks, Tay

I want to recommend a book for getting the vocabulary.
The title is: Breaking into Japanese Literature

amazon link for getting it on dead trees

If I had to redo the learning, it would probably had been easier if I knew of it, I started reading VNs ofc this isn't a bad choice, but it was tough in the beginning with new words and kanji making progress really slow, it really took motivation to keep going.

This title, saves you looking up words on dictionaries and guessing at what they mean if you don't get it since they have an English literal translation of every text + vocabulary at the side.

You go from reading short stories to longer and after finishing you'll have acquired the basic vocabulary that is needed for enjoying reading Japanese.

cryofrzd reacted to Steve in Steve's light novel in a "VN style" crowdfunding - announcement and discussion
Hello Fuwanovel, I would like to let you know about a project I've been working on for the past months.
I just now finally started a fundraising campaign on indiegogo so if you feel like supporting me, there is that option.

It is a light novel in the writing style of visual novels (that's why I chose this section, there is no LN talk forum) about all the mysteries of a particular Broken World.
Of course it has some changes since it is in a book format and so the lines can be longer and are not limited to the game window, but the feeling I am aiming for is the same as of a VN.

Anyways to read more about the project and all the options to support it, please visit:

A PROMISE FROM THE BROKEN WORLD - PROJECT PAGE

UPDATE: second part of chapter 1 (following the events of the prologue) is available HERE

And one more time as a reminder, only donate to the project if you want to support me. It is after all not only a project for this one novel but also a project to give me a chance to show what I am truly capable of and help me become even better at it.

Please also use this topic to ask any questions about me, the project, the style used, the story and the characters or even the funding options. I will do my best to answer them thoroughly while avoiding any spoilers of the key events of the book (at max it will be some very vague hint in a spoiler tag).

And lastly... May the love and the lolis be with you~

I seed, by simply by letting the torrenter stay on over the day if I download something that day.

I have a good connection and by seeding I maximise my ratio for when I want something.

I think I have to go with

    Maison Ikkoku (1984~)
    Yu Yu Hakusho (1992)
    Kare Kano (1998)
Ghibli - everything (if I had to pick one that has a more classic feel, I'd go Porco Rosso ^^)

I guess I consider old to be a little older than 'pre-2008'. I think before 2001 could be called 'old'. 2004 is probably the start of what I'd still consider a fairly current anime. I guess that's wrong, but it's nothing like watching Yu Yu Hakusho or even Kare Kano (barring tragic money issues)

cryofrzd reacted to Clephas in Clephas' VN of the month
I just finished Satsukoi, the last VN I plan on playing for this month (at least for now).

I'll be blunt... this one blew everything else from this month out of the water, even if I were to cut out my love for this kind of plot and setting.  Like it says on the vndb page, this VN is a tragic love story, mixed with Alcot's usual flair for comedic character interactions.

This is one of the few VNs that can't be put completely into a 'ge' category, though I was tempted to call it an utsuge.  At times it feels like chuuni, at others like a simple love story, and at others it feels like an utsuge or a nakige.   I was amazed at the level of quality they put into such a relatively short VN (it took me roughly twelve hours to finish it, though that was mostly because of the degree to which I was engrossed in the story).  Don't expect any truly 'good' endings in this VN... they are all bittersweet and painful for those who love the characters.

The setting will probably disgust a lot of people, for reasons that become obvious right before the end of the common route.  Yes,

They also keep the tradition with stable releases despite taking up so much space, Summer Days crashed so often they re-released it as Shiny Days with one more arch-route. Sadly they got milder on the bad-ends and yandereness

cryofrzd got a reaction from krill in No more Anime and Manga piracy?
Well, I can only say, they are years too late.

Today anime is distributed mostly by torrents and other distributed ways. It perhaps worked back when people downloaded things through direct connect. But thanks to pirate-hunters the downloads have left those fields.

The torrents will be intact, and new indexing sites will pop up, it's like gardening in a forest. And they'll probably focus on the most mainstream material, which pops up faster.

And personally I don't see VN/eroge targeted at all.
