This VN is dark & moody, has a depressing-ish atmosphere (excessive imo; google Haru's epilogue if you don't plan on reading it) throughout the entire thing, and is full of plot-holes (see above responses). One of the only redeeming things about this is the writing; it's pretty unique (at least when compared to among the VNs which i had read. Also, the scenario writer, Looseboy, seems to be rather famous). 
If you can read Non-English VNs, then don't bother this as they are better similar VNs out there. It's also a ladder-style VN and I don't really like these.
Otherwise, can consider reading it as I don't think there are any English VNs like it as of now.

About what Clephas says... I guess that consoles are more diversely oriented (not strange to catch a girl playing with some console), plus they should be 15+ at most. Otome fit well with that.
Whereas PC is seen as a master ra... as a more "monocled" platform for lack of a better term. Most often your PC is used only by you. Traditionally it has been harder to use and mantain than a console, so leading to more monocled users. That kinda leads to PCs being used by a majority of male gamers, potentially "nolifers" (i. e. they spend most of their time on their computers), which fits well with the traditional male-oriented eroge.

So, another poor soul has fallen into depravity and become one with the scum that perforates the darkest reaches of the known world. Oh well, another one for the compost pile.

Man, there's more people who know about O3 (Ori, Ochi, Onoe)? I never finished it, but it was one of my first VNs, yes, I actually started with some EVNs.
It was interesting because, although loosely set in Japan (but fictional city, of course), it was Western through and through, and thus untouched by typical Japanese clichés.
I'd say it was more interesting by the themes (there's some obsession, and mental disorders applied to relationships) than by the romance itself.

If pure romance truly belongs in VNs, I guess it hides somewhere in the valley of otome and yuri VNs.
The other piece of advise I can give is, pursue your fantasies. It will be more fun that way. Create the kind of characters, love interests, and relationships that you would like to have ideally. That's how Twilight was born, I guess you can do better than that.

Whoa!  No.  Just, NO.  Military ranks are NOT honorifics, and if you try to use them as such you'll run into trouble.
In fact, the military in general is a very poor place to look for 'normal' behaviors, in language or elsewhere.  The demands and practices of a military organization are different than, normal society, and you should not attempt to treat them the same.

Standing equal to anime and manga is pretty much impossible because you can't really play VNs through your browser but need to download them.

I hate drama that could easily be resolved if the two characters actually talked for 5 minutes and sorted everything out, or drama that drags on and on because the MC is dense as hell.
