Makudomi reacted to Nosebleed in Petition to unbann Yandere Simulator from Twitch
I think the point the dev was trying to make with the video was that he can't do anything if Twitch won't talk to him. Maybe everything is wrong with the game, maybe it's just some elements, but the dev is willing to work with Twitch to fix whatever issues they have with the game so it can be streamed, he wants the game to suit Twitch's needs, so the issue here is that Twitch won't talk to him about it.
Some of his comparisons with other games are, well, shit (because context matters). I think it's clear the issue with Yandere Simulator is the combination of all these elements and the focus the game puts on them, not just one or two single "controversial" elements (hence why the comparisons really didn't serve much purpose anyway).
Lastly, Twitch wants money. Him saying it's anything but money is silly. Anime games, especially ones with controversial elements like Yandere Simulator, are likely not something Twitch wants on their platform (they have to be ad-friendly after all). Plus, the game has not proven itself to be big enough for Twitch to "look away" and let it be on its platform. Yes, GTA 5 and God of War are pretty explicit games, but they're big household names, so of course Twitch will let super popular games like that be streamed. Yandere Simulator has not proven itself to be this type of game (youtube views/subs mean jackshit to Twitch), so for now it's going to be lumped with the other "creepy weeb games".
But regardless of whether the game is controversial or not, I think Twitch is in the wrong for not talking to the dev. Even if it was just  to say they can not stream his game, even if it was just to say the entire premise of the game is something they don't like, I believe the dev has the right to an answer from Twitch, who proudly talk about how they support game devs and want them to be successful.

    Hello all,
I think it's about time I introduce myself. I'm known as Eirrir. In the 3-D world, I'm a college student studying math (out of all things, right?), but in the VN world, I intend to be a VNR translator of otome games, especially those on PPSSPP. Currently, I'm translating Black Wolves Saga -Last Hope- and Shinigami to Shoujo. I'm most active on my Tumblr, where I'll record my progress on my translations. Of course, I'll make separate posts about my updates here on Fuwanovel. I'm not a native or fluent Japanese speaker, but I'm learning! If you want to discuss anything otome game-related, feel free to talk to me!

Hello, everyone! My name is Lumia Chai, and I would like to open my writing, editing, researching and proofreading services to anybody in need of assets. To be able to fund for a project that I want to start and finish (to get other assets, like art), I am only doing paid service and talent trading for now. I hope to be able to work with you soon!

    GENERAL GUIDES
    > Both free and paid project, whether it is short term (for a jam) or long term, are fine with me, as long as it is within my “interest range”.
    > Payment is made by PayPal.me in the USD currency (I will share my link with you privately).
    > I am fine working under a deadline as long as they are reasonable. If they are not, a tight-deadline fee will be charged (please see below).
    > I am able to work the most on weekends, Saturday and Sunday, and possibly holidays if I am not out of town.
    > Depending on how long I am free, I can write from anywhere ranging from 100-2,000 words in a day.
    > Two small samples, one that is dialogue-heavy and the other narrative-heavy, can be seen here. Any request for specific samples may be made; each sample I provide will be about 120-150 words (which is the length of the two samples in the link). After the third sample request, I will charge $1 for every sample after the third.
    I WILL DO...
    > Any genre: romance, fantasy, otome/shoujo and supernatural are my most strongest and preferred genres (although I am also an avid fan of dark stories as well), though gore, horror, slice of life, and angst are also fine.
    > PG rating through 16+ rating (mild violence and profanity).
    > Girl x Boy (which is preferable for me), Boy x Girl, and mild Yuri/Yaoi (BL).
    > R18 - if it's opposite sex and characters are over the age of 18.
    I WILL NOT DO...
    > R18 between same genders and characters are under the age of 18

Makudomi got a reaction from Shikomizue in What are your "must-play" video games?
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind are my favourite games, while Ace Attorney is my favourite series as a whole. No game appeals to everyone, as has already been said, but these are the ones that I love to share with friends.
Though outsiders to the PM games might not expect this from such a seemingly kiddy franchise as Mario Bros., The Thousand-Year Door is a strong JRPG that makes combat fun, rather than grindy and tedious, and the sheer amount of worldbuilding in the game is astounding. As a diehard fan of the original Paper Mario, I remember being totally hyped for its release to a degree of excitement that the cynical adult me would never have allowed (I was in elementary school)...but I made a gamble with my expectations, and they were EXCEEDED by the reality.  Even though the game is virtually linear for the main plot (save for exploration and sidequests), I've found myself replaying it almost ten times, since the expansive and witty script always proves that there's SOMETHING I overlooked. As just one example, one of your partner characters can give her insights/commentary on literally every enemy, every individual cell, every NPC in the whole game -- just like in the previous PM, the writers went all-out and their efforts are much appreciated. The jokes are clever but tasteful without relying on referential humour or pop culture, the cast is colourful and pleasant, and it even has a couple of heartfelt or tearjerking (though never heavy-handed) moments. And like I mentioned, the combat is great -- enemies are varied both aesthetically and in terms of strategy, and there are numerous ways to win -- all on the freaking awesome, interactive "theatre stage" that you battle on, which upgrades throughout the game. I wouldn't say it's a particularly hard game, but for a first playthrough it's nothing to underestimate.
Morrowind is the quintessential old-school western RPG, for me. Like TTYD, there's an incredible amount of text, but even more replayability due to the absolutely massive open world. Outside of the very minor nudge you get in the direction of the main quest right in the beginning of the game, almost nothing tells you what to do without you stumbling upon it -- you're a stranger in a strange, new place, and the game drives that into your head. The world is open, alien and varied...but what stands out, to me, is that everything was created by the devs based on congruence with the game world rather than usefulness to the player. Some dungeons, usually Daedric ruins or hideouts for powerful outlaws, have great rewards, while others simply have some low-level bandits and modest loot to pilfer from them. If you ask around and receive quests, sure, you might get pointed to the right ones, but that's the beauty of the adventure. You don't magically know, but you explore and find out, which makes every small success feel that much sweeter. Unlike many games that hold your hand and guide you along your path to becoming a big goddamn hero, Morrowind drops you in an unfriendly wasteland and watches you slowly learn the lay of the land. That's not a very popular or profitable style these days, but it's something I appreciate vastly. If you decide to murder your questgiver because you want to rob him but can't do so without provoking his attention, sure, you can -- but he's dead now; you screwed up the quest for good and that's on you. Oh, and if you ever get tired of the game itself, don't worry -- there's almost fifteen years worth of mods made by its obsessive fanbase, many of which are actually worth playing!
Ace Attorney is simply a fantastic series the whole way through. I couldn't isolate a single instalment that completely surpasses the others, but what it's offered is a consistently entertaining experience from my middle school days until the present (and hopefully beyond). The characters are memorable and terrifically written (with a big props to the localisation team), the emotional scenes usually hit their mark, and most importantly the mysteries are gripping and always creative. There is the occasional revelation that I've identified from a mile away, and others that become more obvious as the case goes on, but the game manages to be interesting in spite of that since solving the case is indeed a huge part of the fun. The soundtrack is also fantastic, doing a great job setting the mood, particularly when you're closing in on the real murderer of a given case. The newest one, Spirit of Justice, was a great read that seriously took me off guard a few times. Highly recommended! What's more, despite having its fair share of spinoff games, they manage to be worth playing for many of the same reasons as the core series.
Other honourable mentions go to the Pokémon series, Pikmin 2, Civilization IV, Darkest Hour: A Hearts of Iron Game, Undertale and The Sims 3.

Paper Mario the thousand year door: It's my favorite game of all time and I doubt that will ever change. I can't count how many times I found myself replaying it and it never felt boring oe repetitive.

Dark Souls: The perfect example of well executed world design, extremely deep lore and fantastic difficulty throughout the whole game, never being unfair, just you being bad.

The Neptunia games (the 4 main games): They sucked out almost over 600 hours of my life. I seriously enjoyed the games (and not just for the cute girls)

EDIT: Forgot to mention the touhou series. Came for the girls. Stayed for the music, lore and gameplay.

What are some games you've played that were so good, you'd recommend them to almost anyone? This is sort of a recommendation thread where you explain why these games are such a masterpiece and why they are "must-plays".
I don't personally have any games that I'd call must-plays or masterpieces, but I do have a few I enjoy that I'd urge others to play. Namely the Ace Attorney games (mostly to those that have never heard of it, since pretty much everyone I know knows about them), because of it's well thought out and intricate mysteries, along with it's comedy sections and a healthy helping of drama. Catherine, for it's moral choices, more-than-meets-the-eye story and challenging puzzles. And the Hitman series, for it's excellent stealth mechanics and (mostly) non-linear level design.
Basically, what are some games that you've enjoyed thoroughly, and why did you enjoy them so?

Nice! So I filtered it down to exactly 1 week immediately prior to my post (so, my didn't count, nor did Nosebleed's :ren:s). Fuwa is pretty emotive! 570 emotes were used in that week, more or less split evenly between VN emotes and more traditional emotes. Below is the quick summary for that week. The top two will come as no surprise, but @TexasDice is the clear winner among the newly-introduced emotes, placing third overall among VN emotes behind the Makina and Sachi juggernauts:

There is no such thing as a good Type-moon h-scene.  Nasu hated including sex in his games, and this feeling is shared by a lot of chuuni-specialists (also known as 'high-and-mighty-prudes).  However, he did so because people didn't buy VNs without h-scenes back then.  Even now, only the most established brands can get away with it in Japan... or otomege companies (with the occasional anime/manga to VN convert).

Makudomi reacted to Nosebleed in Chances for Umineko anime reboot?
Chances of it are very slim.
You have to understand in the vast majority of cases nowadays anime is made as an advertisement for the source material, because that's how they can return some kind of profit (you advertise a relatively new LN/Manga/Game, sales increase, you sell more merch, and both entities profit from it). If the source material is already long past publishing date, and it has already had an anime before, then the chances of a new anime for it being made are close to 0 because whatever advertisement could have been done has already been done. They probably stand to lose more money if they make an anime than they gain in merchandise sales.
Unless you get external investments, a second anime for Umineko is very unlikely.

@Seth, Civ 5 is one of those games where the vanilla was a total joke but it got better with expansions/DLC. If you have everything, I wholeheartedly suggest installing it all and playing that way from the start. I hope you enjoy it. Civ 6 will be sixty dollars, Civ 5 Complete is $13.51 right now which makes it a perfectly serviceable game for way cheaper. Ain't nothing wrong with buying and playing that. Don't shitpost if you've got nothing else to add.
Anyway, definitely enable the DLC. The game feels very incomplete without it.
I recommend starting as Babylon and going for a science victory in your first attempt, taking full advantage of their unique ability.

Only one other person voted for Cyberpunk 2077. Yes, we know practically nothing about that game and it's still like 18 months away at the earliest, but it's still my most anticipated game release after Persona 5.
Also I feel like the OP is putting too much stock into a game's country of origin. I consider South Park Stick of Truth to basically be a watered down JRPG, even though it was made in America. And Shenmue is probably not an RPG at all but if it is, it's definitely not JRPG. These are genres that are defined by their gameplay styles, they can come from any part of the world despite having regional names. Also not JRPGs: The Souls series. And definitely a JRPG: Undertale. The genres are weird like that.
Anyway, I feel like I'm pretty even on which style of RPG I prefer, but I think I might like western RPGs more.

Trump is a symptom, not the disease.  To be blunt, something like this was coming ever since the Republicans went for broke during the debate on Obamacare with the fear-talk and lies about death panels.  Populist politics are the tiger of democratic politics... and it is a tiger that just loves turning around to eat the poor little man holding its tail.  Eight years ago, Trump would have not even gotten ten percent of the GOP's primary vote, much less have made it into the general election.
