This sounds familiar . When interesting-but-not-too-interesting game is close to release I wait in excitement and get it quickly and think "after I finish X it's time for this". When I finally get the urge to play it it's at least 1-2 years old.

Is there a limit for maximum number of Black Stones? Cloth upgrades require them but I used 2 black stones earlier and now there's only one in my inv. at the end of chapter 3. I killed Rym Dragon for 100% control few times in Runic Forest Ruins (Ancient Ruins and Scorched Battleground) without getting any. Excavation shows they should be Ancient Ruins though, so maybe they were drops from a Reaper which is already dead. EDIT: Dropped in ch. 4 Deadbeat dungeon..

G-senjou and Sharin no Kuni are probably closest to that description, others you might try: Cross†Channel - Protagonist is a citizen with conformity coefficient of 80. euphoria - if you usually skip h-scenes don't play this one, there is story worth reading but they are part of it. There is mental domination and sort of cat & mouse game. Grisaia no Kajitsu - generic school VN but sequel (in translation) might be interesting. Protagonist isn't regular student.

Modern UI would make many older VN's more enjoyable but then again I like convenience . - Backlog with voice replay - Instantly show rest of the text on wheel down / click - Separate setting for normal voices and shouts/screams which may or may not happen in h-scene, basically to limit big fluctuations in volume without making normal voices too quiet or unbearably loud - Working "Don't skip unread text" option (in many VN's either translation breaks this or it's originally broken) - Windowed fullscreen, textbox transparency, quicksave - Not really a feature but resolution should be high enough to not fully blur on 1080p monitor

On windows SteamInstallDir/SteamApps/common has game data and unless it has drm you can just zip & upload it.

Started reading something new again . Really like the world and some characters in Utawarerumono (Chikinaro best merchant). There are battles and they are fun at best, definitely more interesting than the ones in Koihime Musou. Also it's funny that animations run *very* fast during battles and setting affinity to single core doesn't slow it down.

I cannot say for sure but maybe you're using wrong python version. See what python --version says and try 2.7 or 3.5 depending on what you dont have. EDIT: you need python 3

If she's not into 2D at all introducing her to VN might not be a good idea, since in the end many of them are silly and childish (not that it's bad). It's hard to know how she'd react.

For users this shouldn't be a big loss since Steam is awful platform for VN's. Shouldn't be a problem if eligibility for keys is raised to some buying amount.
