  1. MangaGamer and LiarSoft can be happy since they are already getting press coverage from big game magazines for their release again. The German GameStar magazine posted a small article about the release of the first uncensored 'Sex Game' on Steam. It'll be interesting to see if other game sites follow. PC Gamer is usually rather open-minded about visual novels so I do expect them to drop a note about it too.
  2. No they are not - and nobody claimed that! The poster asked for something similar to Koirizo OR a vn that has HD native resolution. It was an optional request not a must.
  3. And not to forget the whole Shuffle series consisting of Shuffle, Tick Tack and Really Really...
  4. I guess I won't have to hurry adding it to my reading list then, since preorder will probably start sometime ~2020 and the final release will be sometime ~2025.
  5. Well, it IS a romance title. I actually enjoyed the title quite a bit both for its romance and comedy. Can't say the same for its fan disc though...
  6. Current voting duel is Ikusa Megami Zero vs Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. I really hope Ikusa Megami makes it. *holds thumbs* Something I really like about Ikusa Megami is that it's not just a single title but a whole series of highly rated titles with each one having a mixture of new and old characters. And I somehow find it very nice to play a title with characters I already know and like and it also offers the opportunity to further develop the story and characters.
  7. Considering that Noble Works is a comedy title, I'd suggest Alcots My Girlfriend is the President. It's funny and doesn't have drama in it.
  8. For me it's mostly art, characters and immersion followed by BGM. I consider the immersion in particular as one of the strongest points of VN's. No other media gives me this feeling to experience the story myself and the possibility to influence it. And the combination of immersion, strong character focus and interaction with the highlight of romance and H-scenes makes it an extremely tempting medium. While I would certainly appreciate a good story in visual novels, I definitely don't read them because of it. Simply because I can probably count the number of visual novels with good stories I've read on one hand, and even those had major issues. Stories I consider as interesting almost don't exist in visual novels: Classic fantasy like Lord of the Rings or the Wheel of Time, science fiction stuff like Star Wars, Babylon 5, Perry Rhodan or The Matrix, interesting war movies like Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List or Das Boot and many more. If I would really care about a good story, visual novels would probably be the last thing I'd read. That's not to say it wouldn't be possible since it certainly is. But let's face it, currently most of them are just simple school life moeges or worse. IMHO, good old fashioned books, movies and TV series do a better job if it comes to good stories.
  9. Why Eushully? I don't remember a single rape scene in Kamidori.
  10. Didn't really play that much otome's yet - my experiences are more from shoujo animes. But I don't really expect a girl to go Action Jackson like a guy so I find that still a lot easier to bear than a male hetare protagonist. Girls still have other charm points to offer...
  11. First, some otomes have really interesting classic scenario's. Otomate in particular is almost specialized in medieval Japanese stories like Hakuoki. And I really like medieval knight & samurai stories. PersonA has Phantom of the Opera as a theme and that's my favorite musical by a long mile. And Sanzen Sekai Yuugi is almost modern spy movie style. Secondly, they put much greater emphasis in male characters, and I'm so sick of the idiot friend type. It's actually very refreshing to have a coversation with a male character who acts like an intelligent being and doesn't shout the whole time as I'd be deaf. Maybe that doesn't apply to all otomege's, but at least the guys in Hakuoki are some real kickass dudes. Thirdly, it's still a boy-girl scenario just with reversed roles, which is kind of interesting. Fourthly, they still have some gorgeous protagonist girls which are even always visible on screen like Tomoe Nakahara from Sanzen Sekai Yuugi: And all the H-scenes are with her... *drool*
  12. I'm actually a bit interested in that one since it's from Otomate. They have amongst the best male character designs I know, especially in Hakuoki which I always wanted to read since I liked the two anime seasons. Unfortunately it didn't get a PC version despite having been translated to English. I don't think I'll back this one, but if it makes it on Steam I might give it a try. I'd definitely back and buy Hakuoki if they would bring it to Steam though. I'd be also interested to see PersonA ~Opera Za no Kaijin~ and Sanzen Sekai Yuugi ~MultiUniverse Myself~ translated, but they are both adult VN's so a Steam release would be more difficult.
  13. That would be indeed hilarious. Baldr nostalgics wanting to start with the flintstones version first and therefore kicking Baldr Sky out. Many tears would be shed on the other side... lol
  14. You honestly want to say that you didn't understand the sarcasm in my post?!
  15. The funny thing is, it's going against Dies Irae next and considering that Dies Irae has about 100 votes less and a similar rating like Hatsusaku, a win might actually be not so unlikely. Because naturally, Dies Irae is just lowly chuuni crap while Sayooshi is kamige x 20 with super unique story about a protagonist with psychological problems in an even more unique school life settings, peppered with lots of delicious hardcore sex fetishes like guro and tentacle rape. Who could resist that combination?!?
  16. Wanted to read Hatsuyuki Sakura for a long time so I'm rooting for that one of course. Especially if it's against this... 'thing'. Hatsusaku also has an average of almost 8.5 with about 350 votes on VNDB for an untranslated VN. That's hardly a rating for a mere 'run of the mill moege' anymore. Sakura no Uta also isn't that much higher with just ~0.4 more and... 250 votes less.
  17. The upcoming Sen no Hatou, Tsukisome no Kouki (pretty much Ayoku no Eustia 2) from August. Uh, and if you're bored you could practice your translation skills by finishing the translation of Ayoku no Eustia until it's released.
  18. It's important to have a harem for your top waifu to fullfill her latent lesbian needs. The harem should be of reasonable size to offer some variation, otherwise your waifu might get unsatified. So in short words, a harem is just for the sake of your waifu and harem owners therefore like their waifu more than non-harem owners because they care more for their needs.
  19. Master Therion 1000 votes?!? What the Fu... Played this years ago. One of the Nitroplus VN's I actually liked, although the battles in the second half were a bit too much for me. Tiberius is still one of the most frightening villains I've ever seen. The incarnation of pure evil in it's most sadistic and ruthless from. This guy gave me regular nightmares when I read the VN.
  20. Probably because of the art. It's admittedly pretty tempting.
  21. It's one of the earlier translations from MangaGamer. I didn't really have problems with it but I'm not a native English speaker, so my standards are probably lower. It's considered one of the not-so-great translations from MangaGamer and they even said themselves that they don't put the title on Steam because they consider the translation as not good enough for it.
  22. Hmm, I'm not the biggest Nitroplus fan so I'd prefer either Akagoei or to a lesser extent Senshinkan to go through instead of Muramasa. It also looks too goofy for my taste. If it gets through I hope at least Baldr Sky or Dies Irae will wipe the floor with it.
  23. So, this is mine. Only the first place with Ai is fixed. The others might vary depending on mood, hype, whatever. 1.) Ai (Tick Tack) 2.) Rin Tohsaka (Fate Stay Night) 3.) Mariel Esthereed (Unionism Quartet) 4.) Yuuko (ef - A fairytale of the two) 5.) Shion (Koihime Musou) 6.) Sion (Eden) 7.) Sora (Ever17) 8.) Mayuki (Comyu) That wasn't easy - I had to make some harsh sacrifices because I couldn't fit some of my other favorites in the list. And I'm getting weak - I ended up with two loli's in my list.
  24. Oops, you're right! I should have gotten suspicious, the true list is that one. But I don't really understand Getchu's interface navigation here. I could just select the half year and monthly sales rankings through the pull down menus. To find the full 2015 rating, I had to select a 2014 list which is for some reason still on the main page and then manually modify the web link in good hope that just the year is different. Anyway, Sakura no Uta's ranking is ninth which sounds a lot more likely. I'll try to correct my post sometime today. Edit: List is now corrected. Several titles made it in from the Getchu winners like Sakura no Uta (9) or... Custom Maid 3DR2 (2). Other new titles are from Favorite, Feng and Ensemble.
  25. I think she's more similar to Akari since both don't really have an idea how sex actually works. Sena is different here since she knows EXACTLY how it works and somehow affiliates every action from Takeru to something sexual just to get completely turned on by imagining it in her mind. She's actually a real closet pervert. Originally I wasn't so interested in her, but since she 'borrowed' Chiaki's eroge supplies as 'educational material' for Akari, she kind of won my heart. Looking forward to her route.
