    Summary
Everyone has experienced first love and it is a truly bittersweet experience. Taichi had also fallen in love once, but it ended very painfully for him. Two years later, he was ready to take a step forward and fall in love again. Just when he was about to begin his new relationship with a girl who he fell in love with at first sight, the ghost Rin descended from the skies. Aside from the colour of her eyes and her hair, she looked exactly like his first love. Will he be able to forget his first love and move on, or will he still yearn for it?

What's wrong with that? It's merely an abbreviation, like how I call my pals from Germany Germs.
There's nothing wrong with MTL. Learning Japanese is a time-consuming, arduous task with minuscule payoff and little to no professional or vocational benefits. Not everybody wants to invest so great a portion of their life into learning a language solely for the consumption of visual novels.
There's also nothing wrong with that. As long as nobody attempts to disseminate their MTL or pass it off as a translation project, there is no issue whatsoever. Please take your Japanese fetishism and elitism elsewhere, Kiriririri.

    Project introduction
    Description
This is the first title by SWEET&TEA, a new sub-brand in the CLEARRAVE group.
Shou and Ren arrived at a beautiful town full of colourful flowers. They met the three sisters Haru, Kotose and Yukina, who run the cafe “Famille”, and he starts working there in exchange for a bed to sleep in.

In the middle of the night, Shou follows Haru far away from the town to a hill covered with flowers as far as the eye could see. He watched as a little girl whom Haru was embracing turned into a flower under the large moonlit tree. She noticed his presence and smiled lonesomely while looking fondly at the beautiful flowers in full bloom.

“I have survived up till now in this world by doing this. But I still want to continue living… even if it’s in exchange for other people’s lives.”

Shou looked up at the petals which fluttered down and responded:

“No matter what this world forces upon you, no matter how many people won’t forgive you... I’ll still pray for this world to end.”

I will recommend you my favourite novels of all time
Yume Miru Kusuri https://vndb.org/v44 , drug that makes you dream
It has the best character development and the stories are top notch. It would probably be the game I would ask to delete from my memory for replay, for sure.
Katawa Shoujo https://vndb.org/v945, I simply will say that after finishing and falling in love with the characters, you will go outside and get a lot of exercise, I am cereals.

Try ef if you like eden since they came from the same company (minori), and perhaps you could try Saya no Uta (Quite twisted though). Other than those two, I could recommend Steins Gate (And the sequel) and Kara no Shoujo duology. If you okay with girl love, then Pygmalion would be good for you as well. By the way even if some of my recommendations were only at 800×600, those recommendations still good enough imo.

Okay hi, I am the person that is referred to as "DM" in this convo and quite a few things are being taken out of  context, the biggest being that my point was that if you are text hooking Steins;Gate 0 when its just weeks away from official localization that , i felt that is more than a bit silly. I never tried to discourage anyone from learning Japanese, (another thing refereneced was me pointing out others in said community trying to force feed the idea  that people NEED to learn Japanese and they are somehow LESS of a fan if they do not" I do apologize though that this conversation from a PRIVATE group floated on to this forum here.

I've been kind of doing my own thing. I don't have the skills or knowledge to implement the translations into the video game, and I'm not exactly fluent in Japanese, but what I can do is present the visual novel in a light novel format. If you're ok with that, then I have already worked on the prologue in a google docs if you wish to read it.
    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LI3Ak1poyMQ5LKFe2IRiOoTqSDeqzMNMlvdz-BFHOK0/edit?usp=sharing

If you'd rather just wait to actually play the game yourself, then that's fine. This is kind of something I've already committed myself to doing anyways for personal reasons.

Dizzy reacted to Deep Blue in Difference between ITHVNR and VNR for studying Japanese?
ITHVNR is the program used to extract the text from the visual novels and it's the same one used on the software Visual novel reader.
Mecab is a parser and unidict is a dictionary.
It's a bit hard to understand what you want to do. Do you want to read visual novels parsing the text? Then, you should use chiitrans with ith and use ithvnr if you cant hook the text with ITH and you dont have an h-code for the novel either.
Why use chiitrans? Because the parser is pretty good and you don't need to download anything else aside from the program itself, you can even hook the novels with chiitrans itself (I don't recommend it)
At the same time you can use Translation Aggregator as an alternative for parsing the text, since you can use mecab and jparser at the same time as parser (chiitrans uses its own parser I don't know if it's based on jparser or mecab but it works pretty well.)
EDIT: I forgot to say, the parser of VNR is atrocious (it looks bad, it's clunky and worst of all the parser itself is pretty bad and inaccurate, don't use it, )

Oh, certainly.  If you restrict yourself to looking at popular VNs, or VNs from companies with a proven track record, you'll find that most of them tend to be fairly good quality.  And I'll even grant that if you look at the best of both markets, Japanese games currently are way out in front of OELVNs.
But that's not what "most VNs have crap stories" means (which was the original quote).  Most of them ... have got crappy stories.  Because "Japanese VN" includes everything.  Including all the super low-budget stuff, like Appetite and Softhouse Seal and Hentai Industries.  And let's not forget all the doujin stuff you can find on DLSite.
If you take all the pizza delivery simulation nukige, and all the highly derivative stuff that comes out, and all the low-budget bargain labels, and throw them into the mix along with your Liarsoft and Innocent Grey titles, you will find that ... most Japanese VNs have a crappy story.

It's kinda ironic you complain about elitists, yet went on the elitist path by placing yourself on a pedestal when talking about the money people had to fork out. Just something I feel I should point out.
Also, you called them weebs when you said something as weebish as "learn JP or don't read it"? lol Oh man, the irony.
Anyway, on-topic: I agree that the Steam community can be cancerous... but honestly, saying a community is "cancerous" at this point means absolutely nothing. You might as well call them a bunch of "faggots". The terminology means nothing. It's a stupid insult.
I do agree that they can act like a bunch of alpha male a-holes who think that these story-centric VNs have no place among the gaming community, and while I could see where they're coming from, the way they expressed said opinion was honestly just embarrassing. 8 year old Minecraft Let's Play gamers are more literate than they acted. It's pretty much a cesspool comparable to YouTube comments.
I don't really care, to be honest, since I don't get my VNs from Steam.

Eden* probably fit as perfect VN in my criteria, good music, atmosphere, character development, story is interesting enough to make me wanna see what happen next, animated (it's minori!), you can sex with loli, and it's just 10 hours.
Definitely one of best 10 hours in my life.
