  1. I do! Read both I mean. I'm like the other girls, so I'll read bishoujoge if the story is good and for nukige.............I just started recently. It's more of an obligation than anything else. I must provide stupid sex scenes to entertain my panel goers!!!!!!!!! God I felt so dirty buying nukige for the first time though. Goodbye my innocence and any chance of using the excuse that I only read VNs for the story.
  2. Thanks for the clarification @littleshogun. I'm sure that panel will turn out fine. Now hopefully the con won't screw me over with the scheduling like they did last year. My time slot was competing with 2 other super popular 18+ panels as well as massive celebrations for Canada day since last year was Canada's 150th anniversary. I went from an audience of like 60-80 people down to one of 30-40. (I don't feel too bad about that though since the panel for the con's official podcast only had 3 people show up. Now if my attendance was that low, I think I'd cry) Thank you @Nandemonai! I don't think I'll have time to fit in Koihime Musou but I'll definitely keep it in mind for next year, I'm going to check out that demo for Newton and the apple tree, though. I have everything bought and installed, so my game plan is to tackle them in this order, Tasty Shafts, Katawa Shoujo, Boob Wars, Harmonia, Va-11hall-a, Newton and the Apple tree (demo), and finish with Grisaia. I had to add Va-11hall-a to my list because my of my attendees was adamant that I play it and for Harmonia I just wanted to meet my quota of one key title per year. This is going to be quite the intense VN reading session, if only real life wouldn't get in the way that much. Ahahahaha........ I'll start a new thread after my panel is all done with and fill you guys in on all the juicy details.
  3. I'm on team Planetarian, but when I read Air I feel like that might change, since I enjoyed the anime the best out of the Key adaptations.
  4. Thank you @Akshay and @r0xm2n for the suggestions! I'll look into those titles. I've been meaning to read Grisaia and actually finish Katawa Shoujo anyways. I totally remember that part from Clannad, but I think I'll probably use either a Fuko scene or a Yukine scene (Obvious best girl) if I use anything from Clannad. Speaking of Clannad I'm still recovering from finishing that behemoth last year so I don't think I've recovered enough Stamina to finish another long winded Key title. (I might check out Harmonia, though.) I think Ultimate boob wars might be my gold mine though. That's definitely going to be an experience to get through, since I normally stick to more story focused VNs and it'd be first actual nukige. Maybe I should pick up one of the short nukiges from Mangagamer too, especially since I always make fun of them every time I go over their catalogue during the panel. Now should I get Please bang my wife, Tasty shafts, or Suck my D or die. hmmmmmmmm Decisions, decisions Also do I need to read D.Capo to get into Dal Sengo, or is it more like a spiritual successor to the D.Capo series?
  5. So here's the deal, I run a visual novel panel (18+ of course) at my local anime con and I used up a fair chunk of my joke h-scenes the previous two years I held my panel, so I need some help finding some quality H-scenes. The restrictions are that the h-scenes must be voiced, must be translated, must be humorous in tone, must not include lolis, and must be able to be auto read/ skipped through in 10-20 minutes. For example my first year I showed the weird awkward threesome in the fate/stay night that was replaced with the CG dragon in the Deen adaptation followed by the second Rin H-scene in Cartagra. This is where the must be voiced stipulation came into play because the audience reaction to the fate/stay night scene seemed to be really hampered by the lack of voice acting. Audience reaction to the Cartagra scene was phenomenal though. Then for the following year I went through the h-scene in Ayakashibito where there's a random threesome in the enemy base and finished it off with the Lavie H-scene from Eden. (Why would you call the 18+ version plus mosaic if they censor the protags D in a completely different way?) Just so guys know I go through scenes other than H-scenes, it's just I'm not really a Nukige person so my library of dumb sex scenes isn't exactly huge. Well then again........If there's any particular normal scene that fits in my time restrictions feel free to put that in too. I have 4 months to prepare, so looking into more content shouldn't really be an issue for me. Genres are not really an issue, since I show just about anything, BL and Yuri included. Many thanks for any help, no matter how small.
  6. Make that 3 votes. I've been hearing lots of interesting tid bits about this VN, and I love me some dark BL. Other than that, I voted for Evolimit and Hikari no Valusia........again. I kinda wish Mangagamer were more keen on releasing titles that have existing fan translations, because I'm dying for an official release of Ayakashibito.
  7. Thank you @littleshogun I should really stop being so anti-social and post here more often....ahahaha
  8. The Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok by Kinoshita Sakura? I haven't read it personally but it seems to match up pretty closely to your description.............. I think
  9. Merry Christmas everybody! Here's a little present from me to you all. (Especially to those of you that are still waiting for Meikyuu)
  10. If you have a Vita I'd recommend giving Code:Realize a go. It has beautiful art as well as a well-planned story that brings all the information you learned in previous routes together to make a grand spectacle of a final route. It's honestly one of the best otome I have played. https://vndb.org/v14908 If you don't have a Vita then I'd say play The Second Reproduction. It's a little on the short side but the story is quite well done, aside from the extra route that really doesn't fit with the rest of the game. https://vndb.org/v3319 For shits and giggles you might want to check out Dot Kareshi, It has a novel premise and doesn't overstay its welcome. https://vndb.org/v12158
  11. Based on what you said you enjoy I would recommend the following: Death Parade+ Death Billliards (The episodic stories in this one are deliciously emotional and really pick apart human nature. The only downside is that the overarching story isn't developed very well so the last few episodes are kinda lack luster. Note that Death Billiards is a movie that was produced before the series that contains content not found in the series, but it's not vital to watch in order to understand the series. Death Parade has a DAMN GOOD opening too If you care about that) Ergo Proxy (Here's your dystopian recommendation and it doubles as something thought-provoking too, since the show is put together in a way that the more you think about it the better it becomes) The Kara no Kyoukai movies (If you liked Fate/zero you're probably going to like these movies. Be aware that these movies were not released in chronological order so the first movie isn't actually beginning of the story) Mushishi (It has a really soothing unique atmosphere that I have yet to see duplicated by another anime. It's composed mostly episodic stories, but each story is quite engaging and whimsical) Aoi Bungaku (Keep in mind this series is composed of 6 adaptations of classic Japanese/Asian Literature) I hope my recommendations were helpful! Also finish Ayakashi:JCH that shit is a pretty nice collection of folk tales, even if the first two stories aren't to your liking try out the last story. It's the true beginning of Mononoke and is superb. No excuses for that opening though, it's straight up bizarre.
  12. D'awwwwww this question is so adorably innocent. Must resist urge to corrupt.
  13. I live on Moo Moo farm, just past the secret red portal.
  14. If this is true, I really really hope that they keep the puzzles intact unlike the IOS port. It's totally a damper on the whole locked room scenario if you don't get a chance to actually solve it. I can't see myself buying it unless it's actually a remaster though, since I have the original release sitting on my shelf ready to be played at any time.
  15. I noticed that a few of you guys seem like the Overlord anime, but did you guys know that the light novel has begun being localized by Yen Press? The first volume came out a little while ago and I finally got my hands on a copy yesterday. This is my first light novel, so I'm pretty excited to try out the medium. It was a little annoying to find though, because my local book store can't decide what section they want to put light novels in. They have some in their 3 different manga sections but then others they treat like actual novels and have them in their respective genre section. It's a pretty high quality release, aside from the cover art being on a slip cover rather than on the hard cover itself. (The hard cover is just a matte black with the title embossed on the spine.) The pages are a really nice thickness and the art style of the illustrations is very beautiful to look at. (And in full color) There's even a pull out art print of the main crew that has the map of Nazarick on the back. Boy, is that map going to be helpful in the future, Nazarick is too massive for its own good. At the back there's character's stat profiles for 4 of the characters, it's definitely a nice bonus to see what exactly these character's in game stats are. (It's like I'm reading Fate/stay Night all over again) I really want to start reading it, but I'm probably going to have to wait until after July 3rd, due to some prior commitments. If you guys ever feel adventurous with your bubble tea I recommend you try Avocado milk tea. I know it sounds really weird/gross, but it's actually quite nice. There are also other toppings you can put in besides just the tapioca pearls depending on where you go. There's popping Boba that are similar to the tapioca pearls but with juice inside, different flavors of jelly, and even mini mochi.
  16. There are definitely some anime that I would break kneecaps to get continuations of. Sadly, most of the ones that I want are pretty old and probably never gonna happen. I NEED a modern remake of Legend of Basara so badly, DAMMIT! My hope isn't completely dashed though with modern adaptations of things like Parasyte and the early parts of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, if those can happen anything can happen. The only current ones I want are Kekkai Sensen, Overlord, Prison school, and maybe No Game No Life. I hope at least one of these gets a continuation, but until then I can wait. (Until I inevitably cave and read their source material.)
  17. The only lets play of a visual novel I've actually enjoyed was the one Dodger (+Cry) did for Dandelion. Their commentary was absolutely hilarious and I feel that it gave off an entirely different vibe from the original game, so much so, that I still feel like I could still play Dandelion and not feel that my experience was completely spoiled by watching the lets play. Full lets plays of visual novels are a double edged sword, they can introduce visual novels to people that wouldn't have found them on their own, but they can also cause people to believe that they got the whole experience from watching the lets play, thus affecting overall sales in both a positive and a negative way. We'd need more concrete data to determine if the affect is more positive or negative, for example sales data from Xseed for Corpse Party before and after Pewdiepie played it; taking in account the average views for his LP.
  18. The colors used are very bright/ saturated, it was kinda like a punch in the eyes going directly from this forum to Jast's. If those blues are toned down a little more it make it much easier to look at for long periods of time, the header is perfect though (It'd probably be a bad idea to try to reinvent the company color after all.) so maybe try and find a color palette that compliments it. It might also help if there are more variations in color instead of just blue. Maybe some variations of grey or a dull orange? The interface seems great though, very clear and user friendly. I hope Jast's staff interact with fans regularly though, so we can get a better idea about the company as a whole. It's kinda sad when staff presence is so lacking that it might as well be a fan forum. Then again, I just might be spoiled by Xseed forums. (Tom is such a fabulous company rep.)
  19. I would definitely have to say I prefer Mangagamer, my view of them was kinda iffy in the past, but since certain changes they're become quite the model localizing company in my books. Honestly, limited activation codes were stupid, I'm so happy they seem to be phasing them out with their newer releases. (Now, if only they would fix this with their older releases.) They seem to have the more sales per year as well , and their points system can be really rewarding for returning customers. (I love getting more bang for my buck.) I have to agree that their advertising is pretty terrible though. (I didn't even know they existed until they announced Kara no Shoujo, and even then I kinda found them by accident.) For Jast I really want to jump on the bandwagon bashing them for their slow releases, but they have some really good titles in their library plus their relationship with Nitro+ gives me hope for future announcements, it just might take awhile. Despite not really having many sales on their main site, Jast seems to be one of the only ones to be taking advantage of sites like HumbleBundle and Groupees which has helped me build my backlog for a fraction of the price. Their customer service is actually pretty stellar as well, but then again I've never had to contact the other two. Sekai gives me the most conflicting emotions, they have released some pretty high profile stuff and continue to announce interesting titles, but their pace for translating is really all over the place and their reliance on Kickstarter and Indiegogo is really starting to get gross. They announced things like Kokonoe Kokoro, Koenchu!, and Paca Plus (All fairly short titles.) forever ago and they're still not out. I don't even know the statuses on Koenchu! and Paca Plus it's like they announced them and forgot about them soon afterwards.
  20. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes @littleshogun and @Arcadeotic! I didn't expect anyone to notice due to my newness, but this turned into such a pleasant surprise.
  21. Sorry to hear that! As per internet tradition here's a picture of a cute cat. If that's not doing it for you, here have these videos too. Enjoy and get better soon!
  22. @Eclipsed First impressions would be much obliged. I thought watching the anime would help me decide on whether to jump in or not, but it just made my indecision worse. What can I say, Code;realize is the most solid otome I've played so far.(Cardia was a step above the average self-insert protagonists normally found in otome.) I'm happy you liked it too!
  23. I say go for Norn9, the Otome fuel seems to keep the hype train rolling. It's not like I've been on the fence about reading Norn9 for the longest time, and want an opinion on whether it's worth reading, or anything.
  24. I happened upon an OVA called Cipher and I must say it was the most unique anime watching experience of my current existence. It's the type of thing you wouldn't believe a production studio would make, but they did and they committed to it wholeheartedly. I highly recommend Cipher to all anime fans, it's an absolute must watch. Phil Collins/10
